I had a rooted stock i9003 at 2.2.1 kc1 , I used spooffw to change change csc and updated to kpm using kies!
Then i rooted using cf-root and used cwm manager for its tweaks... now after all this my Wifi is just not turning on - It simply says Error .. nothing else... it just doesnt turn on!
Note: After update it worked perfectly... now after cf-root it seems to be faulty...
HELP!!
On using Wlan test it shows Driver Loading Unsuccessful...
Can i reinstall my wlan driver somehow?
Bro i dont think so that u are new user here. Why dont u use Q and A thread to post your querry...!
Anyway I suggest u to flash xxkpm. Its the latest GB rom. Froyo is so old bro. I dont think so anyone is using froyo here. Xxkpm is super stable as compared to froyo.
Actually this was a different thread.. but i solved that.... so converted it to this query..
Also ive mentioned in my post that i HAD froyo and i updated it to XXKPM...
So instead of reflashing/reformatting is there any solution?
Ive tried all Wifi-fix apps ..
i will suggest u to reflash using odin. first flash kpe then kpm. Kies sometime dont update properly.
Yeah that's what seems to be needed now... Although through KIES it worked perfectly... it was only after i flashed cf-root kernel through cwm manager did the problem start..
are u using cf root released today by skin??? previous cf root had some problems. Also tru reflashing using odin.
Hey! I replied to you in the CF-ROOT thread. You have flashed the wrong (i.e. XXKPH) version of CF-ROOT when you flashed the file using CWM manager.
Yes.. Im using today's Skin CF-root.... But could you please help me in finding the lastest .Zip kernel for the cf-root?
i.e. On this page :- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1201062
After flashing the CF-ROOT-XXKPM-With-Extra-20.10.2011.tar
which .zip do i use for kernel?

There's no .zip. There's is only the .tar for XXKPM as of now.
At any given time you can either flash the .zip or the .tar, you need not flash both.
They are the same thing (for example, "CF-ROOT-XXKPH-CWM_manager-05.09.2011.zip" and "CF-ROOT-XXKPH-05.09.2011.tar" will flash the same kernel).
The .zip is there so that you can upgrade from a previous version of CF-ROOT from the current version without the need for a PC using ODIN.
The latest XXKPM CF-ROOT doesn't come in a .zip format 'cause it doesn't make sense... you need to have flashed a CF-ROOT version to get CWM Manager.
I hope I'm clear!
Cheers!
Somebody help!! Find me the above required file please!
Done thanks! Just found out that i donot need that file!

Hi,
I am new to android and I have i9003 with “XXKPN” . I have done CF-ROOT “CFROOT-XXKPN-09-11-2011” by Odin3_v1.0.
Now whenever I start my wifi, it simply says error.
What should I do?
I also tried Hard reset and wipe all data too.. but did not worked.
Should i flash "GT-I9003_SER_I9003XXKPN_I9003XXKPN_I9003SERKPN" by Odin3 as same as CF-ROOT?

Honestly, i flashed KQ2 a lot of times already and did it like i told you but did not get any errors unless the mistake is on my end...
why not try flashing a different ROM so we'll know whether the issue is just with KQ2 on your phone or with all ROMs...
sorry again...
i already tried flashing other rom there's no problem right now im using XXKPI, i tried to flash KQ2 so many times but it is not working fine
suggestion...
since you want something latest in your phone, why not get KQ5 since we are in asia anyways... it's almost the same as KQ2
where can i download KQ5 and can i install Deodexed on KQ5 ?
you can get that from samfirmware but you'd have to register first... or directly from here
you can install Creed's ROM or just deodex it using invisible authority's Deodexed One here.
thanks i will try this i hope that this will work
i already downloaded and flash the link that you give i think it is not kq5 beacause when i instakked it was ZCKP7 not kq5
Try downloading the same firmware from some other site.I think your download would have been incomplete like some part of the file missing.
finally it's working thanks goys
Hi all.. I helped out a friend to root and install MIUI on his i9003, i myself use a captivate.
These were the steps taken: odin to xxkpe, then odin to xxkp7 then cwm flash to MIUI.
He would like to go back to stock as MIUI is not bug-free and its affecting him. Anyways, i was searching the forum and found a few threads regarding this but I am still confused.
Going back to stock from MIUI/cm7/cm9 from my captivate is just to run odin-1-click and everything is done. Here im using odin v1.85 and wish to go back to I9003DXKP9, as this is the official firmware here.
So in order to go back to stock, i just flash the I9003DXKP9 using odin? Another concern is the I9003DXKP9 firmware has just 1 file :
Code:
I9003DXKP9_I9003OLBKP7_I9003DXKP7_HOME.tar.md5
and when i flashed XXKPE it had 5 files:
Code:
APBOOT_I9003XXKPE_CL409735_REV08_user_low_ship.tar
CODE_I9003XXKPE_CL409735_REV08_user_low_ship.tar
GT-I9003-CSC-MULTI-OXAKPE.tar
latona_20110114.pit
MODEM_I9003XXKPE_REV_00_CL1041909.tar
I also read that if the firmware has only 1 file, just flash the pda and nothing else. So is it safe to assume that the process of going back to stock is just flashing the single firmware for DXKP9 or should i go back to XXKPE and then to DXKP9?? Any help would be greatly appreciated..
its better you first flash xxkpe then one file firmware, if u r reverting back from cm7/ miui/ cm9..
since sometimes phone gets into bootloop when just one file firmware is used to revert back to stock rom...
one file firmware is mainly used to upgrade from another stock firmware...
Hope i helped you..

check whether u r installing the right version of cf root...
install exactly the same version as ur fw has...
or go for universal cf root... its way more convenient...
note: i hope u meant xxkpe instead of xxkp3 ....
Hi Friends,
I don't know that i should open a new thread for it. But I have searched in XDA forums no one is ask about this CSC.
Now coming to the problem, I have taken the backup(contact, message) from Kies and rooted and installed the custom rom(Frankenstine and after ZSLE5 for NEO). After installing the custom rom I am unable to connect my phone using Kies, it shows, no sim card.
I have re-flashed it with Stock rom and able to connect it. Hope this issue is because of the CSC(which becomes unknown) after installation of custom Rom.
Anyone else faced this problem?
Thanks,
Karthik

after flashing any of the custom ROM, if it shows UNKNOWN CSC ..
then flash only cache.img of your stock ROM via ODIN
Thanks dude
Thanks dude! I will check it now. You are very fast in replying like your ROM
download and flash the TAR via ODIN
(dont worry. It doesnt affect binary counter)

Hey bro, if you flash a custom rom.. You will not be able to use kies.. So i advice you to use a different app to backup your contacts etc and restore after flashing the custom rom..
Kies only works on stock roms..

I am not a noob i m a dev ! but i jus need help to not to brick my new phone .. so anyone pls help me with links so that it will be more easier for me to do it ... thank u ....
Find out your firmware and download CF-Root for your firmware from this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331253
Read all instructions on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133787
CF-Root does include CWM so you'll be able to flash any C-ROM. Again, read all instructions for the ROM/MOD/Kernel/etc that you want to flash.

If your device is unrooted and original stock, try updating to the latest version for your region using samsung kies.
Then you might find better links for latest versions.
=======
Else you can flash XXKPQ directly and then root it using CF-root for that version.
Note on guide thread says "Note: XXKPQ can only be flashed with help from it's supporting predecessor XXKPE like the XXKPN/XXKPH/XXKPM series, So make sure you have XXKPE downloaded. User flashing version varies with this, but this is my successful 100% assured boot." So, I guess you can flash XXKPQ directly on your XXKPN.

If you're on gingerbread, it's highly recommended that you use cf root kennel.
Use the universal Amit.bagaria kernel for gingerbread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19442301
you can find the detailed instructions there.
In simple words, power off your phone, enter into download mode by simultaneously pressing volume down, home and power button.
Then open Odin and in pda source select bagaria.tar
And unselect repartition option, select other 2 option (restart n other one).
Connect your phone via usb
Then see if Odin detects your phone, com port will turn yellow.
If it detects, press start and voila, you're done. It will restart the phone.
For your convenience, after auto restarting, Manual restart once again.
Press thanks if helped
