I'm having a serious problem. I sent a SMS to a good friend this afternoon, and he got an altered version of it.
When I look in my Sent SMS folder, I see what I typed. When looking in his Received SMS folder, we see a modified version of what I sent him.
Before my original SMS we can now read this "I bought a segway, and am being drunk, sorry" (in French)
Then come my original SMS.
He use a Palm Pre2, and I have a Sony Ericsson Neo, with the latest official firmware, and root access. I didn't unlock my bootloader.
Recently, I installed "Set DNS" to solve the Google Market's unbearable slowness.
Do you have an idea about the cause of this problem?
Should I flash my phone back to original firmware?
Could Set DNS intercept my SMS and modify them?

Problem solved, it is a bug from my friend's Pre2, he has got some of his messages mixed together. The text that have been added to my message is coming from someone else's message.

In what way was it altered? Can you post the before and after messages (French is fine for comparason purposes)?
I know that some carriers have SMS Signature features that can be set up via their website/account admin tools, is it possible that that's what you're experiencing?

After restoring a backup, the INBOX with 'SMS-inbox, 'SMS-
Drafts' and 'SMS - Sent Items' show a wrong number of
messages, which dont exist any more. Even "deleting" doesnt remove the false sms-list out of my MDA-II.
Anyone an idea how to resolve this problem?

I had the same problem, no solution yet, except for a hard reset and manually installing all your apps again. the prog recommended in that thread does not work, it erased all my mail setings, accounts and my mms composer, could not get it back.
hey guys jsut thought i'd update this thread with some well hopefully useful info.
Just had the SMS count to 1, tried fixunread.exe it was still at 1.
then i deleted all the files except the folder (Attachments) in \windows\messaging (not exactly sure what these files are, read it on the forum to try)
the count was still 1.
I received an SMS and the count was still 1, but once i read that message it then went to no new messages

The small program worked well and corrected my problem on K-Jam "Wizard" with WM6

Hello guys. I am fairly new to this world and to this forum, so please take it easy on me.
I use a HTC P4351 Unlocked. I use it on T-Mobile network.
My First Question: The ROM version I have right now is - 4.24.422.1 WWE
Do I need to update it?? Is there a simple way of doing it??
My Second Question: Before I bought this unlocked device, I had\used T-Mobile Wing. This phone had this one app, made by "OZ Messaging". It was a client for AIM/ICQ/Y. Is there a way of getting a ROM with this app so that I can extract it from there, somehow? Or an app of this sort?? Another little problem with it is: I tried several applications like this. I need to have a connection to the internet. I don't have internet option on my phone. What I do have, is unlimited any kind of messaging. My guess is: it used my SMS gateway, since I don't have mobile net.
So to make this simple:
1. I'm wondering if I need to update my ROM?
2. Can I find a ROM, with it, or THAT separate application for my messaging needs? I would need this app to vibrate when my phone is set to vibrate mode? .
3. **VERY IMPORTANT** I don't have "Mobile Internet" on the device. I never never ever did, but that OZ Messaging client was still able to log on any three of those 3 networks. Whenever I needed to log on, in the log in process, it would to turn on my GPRS connection. I set that connection up myself. I found a way. So right now, whenever I send a Picture Message, it turns it on and sends it. I tested it out. Instead of entering a phone number, I enter my e-mail address, and it works both ways, it sends and if I reply to that message I received from my phone, it receives it back on the device. It used that "connection" for AIM/ICQ/Y before on the Wing also.
*** Basically the app needs to have a SMS gateway! ***
Is there an app that can use that kind of a connection/or is there a way for me to find this one?
Guys, please be as simple as possible. I'm not a "guru" in this field.

Hey. Even if I find this *.cab file. I don't just need to find this *.cab file, but also need to figure out how to make this app to turn on the GPRS. That is what it did on my old T-Mobile MDA and on T-Mobile Wing. It used that connection to log in, and to send/receive IMs. (Via my SMS gateway)
So even if I do find this *.cab somewhere again, it won't work. AGAIN - is because I already found it once, and it didn't work, because of GPRS. Thank You
ok well i dont know what to tell you about gprs, thats something you have to find on your own along with the cab file, no one here is going to just hand you answers this forum is mostly for developers and those who want to learn how to cook roms and such, so there you have it and btw you posted in the wrong forum this is about rom dev not wing/herald cabs

like the title says, once i recieve multiple sms for the same thread while its open, and when i exit, it only clears one sms as read while leaving the rest marked unread. does anyone know how to fix this?

yea but like i said before the r3 roms came out, i never had a problem with it. also theres no problem with in in windows 6.5 or stock roms. wonder if any hacker can diagnoise this.

I got a phone from Korea, LG Optimus LTE (LU6200). I think this phone was made only for korea, Although I was able to use it here in the Philippines on every network. My only problem on this phone is, Every SMS I receive will show "Anonymous" as the sender (no number or name) even though the phone number is saved on my contacts.
I tried using other sms app like Go SMS and Handcent, its still the same. No problem when people call me, their name will show or phone number. So all my text messages is pilled up under the name anonymous from different sender.
Has anyone has the same problem? do you have a fix?

I kept trying different setting under *#*#4636#*#* regarding the network type under phone info but with no luck. can't seem to get the phone to save the smsc(service number) either. I can send text messages with no problem but all my received messages are from anonymous.
It's really annoying cause I love this phone so I'm hoping I'll find a fix sometime soon. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Oh yeah...forgot to say...I'm using it in Romania. everything else works just fine...

hey danny, If you have the same phone LG LU6200 Optimus LTE, SMS problem has been fixed, Anonymous being displayed to all received messages. All you need to do is to upgrade to Ice cream sandwhich.. The new updated fixes anonymous issue, also character limit when sending sms ( you have to use third party app, i use Go sms).. A lot has been improved from the update. The phone got nice Home screen too. I also like the phone, it's fast and slim.
go to dalelisyoso.blogspot.com just look for the article optimus lte ala ice cream sandwhich, you will find the link there.
the page is in Korean so you may need to use a page translator.. if you use google chrom it should ask you to tranlate it in english.

Thanks for the virtual beer. hehe. Mine is not yet rooted, by the way did you know that you can install non market app even if the phone is not rooted.. just to share. I was also very frustrated before with that anonymous problem, im glad i was able to help. cheers.

hey buddy.i got this phone quite good indeed buy a strange problem just for a sudden my naetwork sugnal goes and then appears.is that mormal and also same anonymus problem should i change the rom or just update it.desprately waiting for the reply.....thnx in advance

Hi guys Just got a new Oppo Reno Ace Gundam edition, Everything runs smooth and great with couple teaks. From keyboard, and uninstalling bloatware from t his phone. However as Title states, I'm unable to get group messages in the original Message app. When I found this out I tried to download and install different SMS apps such : Gmessage, Facebook SMS, smsGO. This Apps have install with no issues and when setting them up I select the app as for to be the default application for SMS. Once i get A text i get a message explaining that the original Message app will be enable. I tried different ways to get rid of this application using "conventional ways" ( no root or hardcore modification, since im not experience) but with no luck.
Has anybody experienced this, And if you are able to get group messages lemme know!

Hey i got the same problem vut it isnt just with the message app. Also the systhem launcher and assistent app is unable to be changed
You can uninstall these by using adb and install another app. But i dont want to try this with mine.
