As of last month, I'm due for a phone upgrade from ATT. My first Android phone was the Samsung Galaxy. My phone now is a HTC Inspire and I love HTC.
Anyway, I believe the Galaxy Nexus is coming to ATT soon and it sounds great but I really want to stick with HTC.
I know HTC is coming out with some Windows phones but does anyone know if HTC is coming out with a new android phone on ATT?
Thanks

im in the same boat and am thinking about using some of the money to pay the etf and get the incredible hd if it comes out for verizon in november
the desire is a nice phone - my mother has one
what you should really be looking for in a $600 device is something with no hardware keys
personally id get a nexus one or samsung captivate
nexus is still one of the best phones out there, but sammys galaxy is future proof and has a superior build quality than most htc phones

I have to agree with above. On November 8th there is a small possibility that the Nexus 2 could be released. If nothing is said about it on that day then I agree with the above. I would probably get the Nexus One since its a development phone and will receive updates the fastest. There is already a screenshot running around that shows the Nexus 1 running 2.3 Gingerbread, Samsung Variants in the U.S still have 2.1 Eclair. My 3 cents.

But there are better phones than nexus one at the moment aren't there ? Like Desire family ?
With that money you can buy a Nokia N97,it will be fine
Hi everyone
Im looking to replace my old phone with an Android set. Ive been eying either the Nexus S or Desire HD.
Im not in a rush though and I can at least wait until the end of this year. Are there any notable phones worth looking into that are slated to come out later this year?
I would go with the Nexus S, nothing can beat the experience and support of a stock android phone. Rooting and customization will be very easy as well.
I faced that same choice, except I couldn't wait (my milestone had died). I ended up with a HTC Sensation, bought from Bell and then unlocked.
Telus is going to get a version of the Samsung Galaxy S2, according to MobileSyrup.com... I would suggest waiting for that phone.

thanks I just read the article, the "Hercules" sounds powerful lol
I hope it does come this fall, Telus is in some need of the newer dualcore cpu's.
I think this is the one for me
I am looking for a recent Android phone which will receive many updates in the near future, many performance, big screen, no external keyboard...
Possible phones are:
Galaxy S2
Nexus S
...
I am looking for a phone which has custom ROMs and kernels available. eg: Galaxy S, which will be soon end-of-life
till now, the best one is the galaxy SII, but wait one month and you'll get much better things i guess x)
Yep. Newer phones with larger screens and faster data. Hopefully by years end.

Yep! Nexus prime should be here in the near future! =)
How about a 5.7 inch screen
Samsung Note, I think that is the name. It is just anounced

I love my Google Nexus S but not tried many others. I can say it's better than some HTC phones my friends have.
HTC sensation..
I'm in the same boat. I had to upgrade my plan so I can upgrade my phone soon. Not waiting 8 more months
I'll prolly get the Nexus Prime. If not that, then the Galaxy S2.
On the updates.. I read somewhere that Samsung will be doing, or at least try to, updates straight from Google. I'm not sure how that will go since carriers love their restrictions on phones.
I would prefer HTC Sensation! Great one!

Well I just realized that it's time for me to upgrade the phone. Will likely give this one to the gf who's moving over to AT&T. So if there's one phone on AT&T I should upgrade to which one would you guys and gals suggest?

I was considering it, but does it make sense to get it if I already have an 7-inch HTC Flyer?

Personally, see no reason you should spend your upgrade at this time.
Ask yourself;
Is the phone still running Android? Or is the upgrade to android better then you have now?
Is the phone capable of doing anything further than you are capable of doing with it now?
What does upgrading provide you that you currently can not get/do?
If you can answer these questions with a yes and truely you get "upgraded" then using the upgrade is awesome.
But I just looked at the phones availble. You aren't really getting much of an upgrade and you'll likely spend 100+ on it.
I'd wait.
Just my two cents.
Personally I see no reason why you are posting this on the forum. There are other threads like this already and this forum is not even the place for questions like this. Can you not go to ATT.com or your local store and see the few phones available or read one of the other threads just like this.

Because it's a forum (the general at that) and being an Inspire owner, I thought it would be nice to get the opinion of other Inspire owners who might be in a similar position.

Yeah no need to be rude.
To expand further on the Gnote though, I'd say it will be an extremely worthwhile upgrade. Screen size alone will make the device seem like a true "upgrade". Check out some video reviews of the device.
Or better yet, here's a good one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBhEiiMd3qU&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Great battery life (2500 mah)
720p display on a huge screen
S-pen ( which I hear works tons better than the HTC flyer stylus)
Lte
Just a few reasons why the device is so great.

Yeah... I'd wait until WMC to see what is coming down the pipeline. Maybe there will be something that comes out in the summer or early fall that you'd want more.

I would love to see if the Edge makes it way to AT&T, but time may not be on my side. Gf wants to move over from Sprint to AT&T no later than March. I really live my Inspire, but I've rather get me a new phone than to give it to an Android rookie.

my thoughts exactly, that phone should be a beast.
I would wait for the Galaxy S III.
See 2 problems with the One X. First, no micro sd slot. Better plan on limiting what you put on the phone. Second, battery is embedded. No way to pull or easily replace it. Bad battery means replacing the phone. Also, how do you deal with a bootloop?
So I just wanted to get the opinions of some users of the Skyrocket about my decision to possibly migrate over to ATT.
I currently have the G2 with tmobile, but want something new and have the opportunity to open an account with ATT soon.
Should I go with the Skyrocket? Or maybe wait for the HTC One X or Skyrocket HD?
I know that it will probably be an upgrade from my G2 either way, but I don't know if the HTC One technology or Skyrocket HD technology is that much better.
Please share opinions.
Wait for the HTC One X. It will definitely be worth it.

Yeah, so I am thinking I may wait off a few weeks. That will give me time to see the SGS3 announcement, the HTC One X, and possibly the Skyrocket HD.
Thanks for the input guys. I figure the Skyrocket is a nice device, but the HD will be a little nicer. I just wish they would update the processor also. Either way if there are OC options, it should be fine.
OMG the HD has a huge screen, wtheck is up with the giant phones lately?
