[Q] Anyone able to get s-on successfully? - HTC Sensation

I needed to send a phone back in for warrenty exchange and tried to do the s-on per the stickies on the how to. I did not successfully get the original RUU to run. It kept saying error [155]. I need the correct RUU update utility. I did everything to a T per the instructions. I had to send the phone in already but i have to send in another one back and need to get it back to s-on. Can anyone tell me a success story that worked and what instructions did you use.
TIA
JC

Can't undo S-OFF

Hello all,
Was just wondering if anyone can help me as I am trying to unroot the phone to send back for warranty reasons as main speaker is not working anymore.
First restored the original partition 7 from gfree and ran its unroot
it put back the 0.86.0000 hboot but still showing S-OFF though.
tried to flash the PD15IMG.zip for gingerbread and let it do all the updates and is still on s-off but showing 0.86.0005 now.
When booting it gives the normal first vibration then about a second or two later I get another vibration.
Has all the right software just seems like something is different and not running 100% stock yet.
Any ideas what I am missing?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ive heard it can take a couple of tries of rooting and unrooting for it to show s-on. try rerooting it with the same method you used to root and then just get the stock pd15img to flash. Make sure you downgrade the bootloader first though if its now the gingerbread bootloader. Good Luck!
you mean the 0.86.0000 hboot?

0.86.000 is the stock hboot, you should be good to go.
yeah that is what I had didn't help
I assume should be engineering hboot
do gfree procedures
then put 0.86.0000

Revert HTC Desire S to stock

Hi,
I've installed a custom ROM on my HTC Desire S. However, now that I've got a new phone I need to restore the phone back to its orignal state (Gingerbread - UK Orange).
I know this question has been asked before but after reading the other threads I'm still a little unclear on exactly what I need to do.
I'd be greatful if someone could point in the right direction, i.e do I need to use a RUU (whatever that is?) or can I just flash the phone with a stock ROM in the same way that I installed the custom ROM?
Not sure if this is relevant or not, but the revolutionary bootloader shows the following ifnormation:
SAGA PUT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-6.98.1002
RADIO-3805.06.02.03_M
eMMC-boot
Thanks,
I appreciate any help.
Have a look here androidforums.com/3405058-post1.html at section 2.
Flash hboot 0.98.2000 then install the RUU for your phone.
I suggest you make a gold card just in case you need it down the line.
Make sure you choose the right RUU.
Thanks for your reply.
I've followed your advice and flashed hboot 0.98.2000. This was fine. Also create a gold card as you suggested.
Then, I ran the RUU, but this failed the error:
Code:
ERROR[131] CUSTOMER ID ERROR
The ROM Update Utility cannot update your Android phone.
Please get the correct ROM Update Utility and try again.
Now, I downloaded the "RUU_Saga_HTC_Europe_1.47.401.4_Radio_20.28I.30.085AU_3805.06.02.03_M_release_199410_signed.exe" as there was no specific Orange UK RUU listed. Was this not correct?
Thanks
Not sure were to get a orange RUU and what version you will need (but am sure someone knows).....
If you are returning to stock for warranty then you will need a orange RUU, if not and just want to get back to stock for well stock sake then insert your gold card and try again, if it fails then you didn't make the card right or used the wrong CID (sometimes it gets the phones internal memory CID), use goldcard helper app to get the right one (mmc2 I think it is)
Even with the goldcard in, the RUU fails. I guess this means you're correct in saying it wasn't correctly created :-( although I did use mmc2 so maybe I did something else wrong.
I'm not returning to stock for warranty reasons, just so I can sell the phone. But either way, I'm not sure how I proceed from here. I would glady use goldcard helper app in order to create a working goldcard but this isn't possible (or is it?) as there's nothing installed on the phone and it just boots to hboot every time.
Is it possible to use revolutionary to re-install a custom hboot and then a custom ROM, and start the process again? I've just attempted this and revolutionary doesn't see the device.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Fixable, not that easy though...
Have a look here, same problem as you. Post 11 explains how to make a gold card on the Pc with a card reader.
Also a few posts here about how to make a goldcard on the PC, so have a look for them.
Keep in mind some cards just dont work as goldcards.

[Q] Stock ROM not available for S-On

So, I've recently rooted my phone and turned to S-Off successfully. Nothing has gone wrong but I still want to change back to S-On and unroot it (Also remove Clockwork and Hboot). I followed a thread here and they had all the instructions for doing so, heres the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300
I located the RUU I needed and began to download it. But the servers were really slow (Not my internet) so I left the computer on overnight. I went to check on it this morning and it had downloaded 377MB out of 385. I got dressed only to come back to an error message from FileFactory saying that the file is unavailable...
However, I want to unroot my phone and turn S-on back on, and I don't want to risk bricking my phone just because I didn't follow instructions (I am currently on stock ROM but instructions don't give a damn ). Would I be able to download a similar RUU with the same baseband number but different version number? This RUU's version number is 1.73.401.4, would I be able to download say 1.73.401.2 and use that to flash the stock ROM again? I would reply to that thread, but I'm new, so I can't . Any help is appreciated.

[Q] Still S-OFF after "writesecureflag 3"

Hi,
I've rooted my HTC Sensation a long time ago and installed plenty of custom roms. But now there's something wrong with my display and I want to return my phone to HTC for repair.
So I followed the guide from viper. I've ran the right stock RUU and after that I've tried to go back to S-ON. When I follow the instructions for adb everything works. But when I give in the command "writesecureflag 3", reboot the bootloader it still shows S-OFF. I get no error or something else.
Can anyone help me?

[Q] Phone help, trying to get back to stock

Afternoon all,
A little help and advice if I may?
Running a custom ROM with HBoot 2.19 and S-On
Trying very hard to return to full blown unrooted stock so banking apps will work (I've tried every work around there is possible to fake unroot but they just don't work).
This gentleman here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc...m-official-stock-android-4-3-sense-5-t2837799 ) seems to be the means of getting back to stock but requires S-Off and HBoot 2.22
I've tried firewater but get an error saying HTC have put anti-firewater protection in then it bombs out. (Tried using KAngaroo kernal and SS Kernal from the dev page)
I've tried rumrunner_HTC_0.5.0 but even with Windows Firewall off, no anti-virus and even putting my laptop into a DMZ I still get the fatal error when trying to download the tool.
From what I gather I cannot get onto HBoot 2.22 to try alternative custom Roms until I S-Off the bloody thing which appears to be impossible.
Any ideas?
All comments will receive thumbs up and a cake in the post.
Thanks
That backup should still work even if you're S-on. It did for me. I'm not sure about the HBOOT but if you backup where you are now, you're no worse off if it doesn't work.
I had to do the same thing so my network's Wi-Fi calling app would work.
I only had to S-off afterwards to change my CID to get official OTA updates, you may not need to do that step in which case S-off is fine.
