Does this happen to anyone else? I find apps missing and not even in the applications setting. I go to market and it tells me "free" meaning it's not installed. Only later on the day to find out the app has suddenly reappeared! Wtf is going on?!

Every time I wipe my Xoom, the music app is missing the settings menu. As such, I can't get to Google Music. In the past, I've always just uninstalled updates and re-updated from the Market. However, the last time I installed the Tiamat ROM, the market will not let me do ANYTHING with the music app other than open it or view more info. The "uninstall updates" button is gone, and there's no uninstall or reinstall option.
How can I fix it? I don't care about fixing the market problem unless it's necessary to make Google Music work, as that's all I really care about.
Thanks in advance!
Huh, so, after restarting the app for the 5000000000th time, it randomly showed up. Well, I guess maybe this info will help someone else with this problem hopefully
Well the other day my Google talk app stopped opening, no FC, but when I clicked the icon the screen would go blank for a split second, then back to my homescreen. So used TI to clear data, same thing, so I then uninstalled and rebooted. I went to the market to dl it again, but it's not there. I then went to android.com/market on my comp and was also unable to find it on there.
I'm sure I could located the latest GTalk.apk, but was curious if anyone else is experiencing behavior like this?
Google Talk has never been available through the market, Only Google Voice. I think, I remember looking for Google Talk when I first got my Sensation back in July and it didn't show up in the Market.
I think I may have set it up wrong like restore or something. But everytime I exited the play store it starts downloading EVERYTHING from the playstore that I've ever downloaded.
How can I stop this from happening?
Open the playstore, slide from the left edge of the screen, my apps, click stop.
Sent using xda-developers app
This is just a guess, check Settings -> Backup & Restore and disable "automatic restore".
Also, when you first set up the phone, there is an option that asks if you would like to keep the phone backed up with google, which, if selected, also restores the phone from any back up google may previously hold.
Un check it, and it wont start downloading any apps when you first turn it on
definitely one of the irritating things about android. that backup/restore functionality sucks. I think i read they were going to revamp it?
Seems dumb that an app that is installed on another device or long removed from current device would install on a new device.
There's an easy fix for this. Go to the play store, swipe the left of the screen, click "My Apps", click the "All" tab. Any app in that list that isn't installed on your phone already will have an "X" in it's box. Click it and it'll ask if you want to remove the app for your apps list. That will stop it from auto downloading when you restore anything, as long as you don't download it again. Otherwise, you'd have to remove it again.
I went to go play some games on my phone today. One of the games, when I launched it, gave an error that said "App isn't installed". I noticed that the game's home screen icon had been replaced by a grayscale version of itself, possibly something that Nova Launcher was doing. Then I noticed half my other games had the same problem - all greyscale icons, all "not installed". I have also noticed every couple of weeks or so that a "hole" will appear in my home screen icons - there used to be an icon there, but there isn't anymore, and I install so many apps that I can't remember what it was. I also notice that my "Free space" widget will randomly jump up by a GB or two. "Huh, I thought I only had 3GB remaining, now I have 4GB? What the heck?"
Remnants of the apps still remain in the obb/data folders, but the apps themselves are disappearing, and I don't know why. I do not, and have never, installed any apps on an external SD card, I wouldn't even know how. What on earth could cause my system to actually take an installed app, delete almost all its data, without ever asking me or telling me? What kind of system logger could I install to figure out why this is happening?
Example: Ski Safari AT, second row 5 across, has been deleted and had its icon turn grey. When I tap it, it says "App isn't available":

this is really interesting..
let us know if ever you can see what the cause is if ever no one can determine here
Same thing happens to me, Nvidia Shield.
The cause is Android is hopeless.
What???? Really? ??
I can't believe this. Shocking
May be there is a virus or someone is making you fool by messing your mobile up.
Please make a factory reset but before that try to figure out what is going on?
Do you know how to make log file?
Google it.
Upload that log file here and devs will help you.
From the little I've been able to find so far, "App Stack" is something that is installed on only the Sprint variant of the Galaxy S8.
Beyond that, I can't find anything.
It IS an app that I can uninstall. It weighs in at 47.76MB, and appears useless to me. I'd prefer to dump it.
Oddly enough, it also has a 1x1 widget, but when I try to place it on my homescreen, nothing shows up.
Just wondering if anyone knows anything more concrete about it?
I uninstalled it, no worries. No clue what it is though...
Uninstaller!
So I put the widget on my home screen and it was blank for a while. Then all of the sudden when I came back to the home screen it started displaying ads for apps I did not have installed. Uninstall that ****!
App Stack is bloatware , its an app that lets you manage the install and uninstall of apps, so you can says its like an app manager...
How to uninstall?!
It doesn't show up in any lists of apps. It doesn't show up in notifications. But it puts notifications on my phone (Samsung Galaxy S7/ Sprint) and i can't block it from notifications or change its permissions or find it to uninstall it. It makes me feel incredibly insecure. I can't read bank statements on my phone until i can get this bloat GONE. PLEASE, somebody help me...
It's bloatware you CAN remove. My mom kept getting notifications from it although it didn't appear listed with her other apps. I searched for "app stack" on her Samsung Galaxy phone (results were the same whether the search was performed from Settings or the All Apps screen) where I found it and promptly uninstalled it.
