Hi
I would like to know for your xperia x10, which android apps works and which doesn't?
I have only tried the xyflash trial, and it did not play divx nor h294 in mkv.
I don't want to convert every movie (as it take times). Hopefully something work on xperia will come soon. (i want confirmation before i buy the apps too).
try using blapk market (probably find it on the web only) the developer created it so people could try full version of certain apps without having the feeling of being robbed! but if it does what it claims it should, then out of respect, you should buy the full version from the developers!
ive tried a yxflash version from that market.. not sure if theres a more recent update to it now but it worked ok.. i gues! not sure if it'll be the same for everyone but from what ive tested, avi and divx files worked which is cool but unfortunately i noticed that around 10 minz (im guesin here) the video would freeze (just the clip not the app), yet the audio would continue as normal.
hope any of this helps!!
Well I can confirm that the latest available update for this program has fixed the issue of video freezing! Divx worked well and as 4 avi you can see it reacting slightly slow but some people may be able to live with it for time being until an update can address the issue.
Use YXflash. it work g8t.
I use yxflash, its not bad, i wish i could get the full version free though.
Yxflash still very slow on divx.
I tried many apps so far, i still have yet see a functional H.264 mkv one.
at the back of the phone it said quicktime enable, isn't h.264 apple's ? and mediascape as usual, useless.
Yxflash played divx quite smooth 4 me

How do you use the blapk market? i have installed it but i cannot see any apps...tried adding repos, wouldnt work? does this mean it has been shut down again?
Once you put repos you go to main screen then menu and hit update..
If that doesn't work you can visit the site at www.blackdroid.net, there forum is useful an all..
Hope it helps!

try to use Wuzhenhua Player v4.1, it has support for a wide range of audio and video formats incl flv & rm. it's in Chinese but few buttons are easy to understand
http://mobiputing.com/tag/wuzhenhua-player/
within link above there is a ref to a thread in xda, post 76 you'll find english ver
I checked it out since i am chinese myself, i even got the chinese market place apps. I can't find anything better. yxflash doesn't seem to work for some divx (anime one) and more anime fansub are in MKV/H264 these days.
Wuzhen does play some divx yxflash doesn't play and vice versa. I guess i will just read manga on the subway.
I use RockPlayer, which works a treat... I don't have a heap of movies, so I don't know exactly what it plays, but it sure plays more than the inbuilt media players... and it does it better - no lags, etc...
RockPlayer, search no further, app is amazing, YX Player is a joke compared to this one.
it doesn't seem to work as well as it thought to be, it does move and all but i see big lags.
I think it have to do with the size of the anime i am trying to watch.

Couldn't have said it better myself!! lol
whatz the size of this file? and are you talkin bout these issues on rockplayer, not yxflash?
Cause I have rockplayer and i've used a 1Gb file and framerate was running near 25 frames/sec and had no lag whatsoever!
There's someone who's played a movie (1080i) at 30f/sec without lag..
Maybe something on ya phone is blocking its true potential?

Another vote for Rock player.
I seem to have problems with Rock Player if I use my MW600.. But only when I'm playing divx/xvid.
I hear a crackling sound. If I turn off my headset, the problem is gone.
Am I the only one with this problem? Should I start using Wuzhenhua ?
I use Rockplayer, it is by far the best one out there, no lag on my XviD collection

This beta only work till July 15th, but I hope they will release another one before that.
yxflash is good ..

Hi All
Is there or is there not a Vlc player for the WM. I have read various forums and followed dead links and would like to know oce and for all does this exist or not and if so does anyone have a working link to the download the app.
Many thanks in advance
Is this is what you're looking for ?
http://portableapps.com/news/2010-02-01_-_vlc_media_player_portable_1.0.5
A.F.A.K there is no VLC the best freebee you will find is TCPMP or if you wish for the up to date version CorePlayer but costs money.
Hi guys
Thanks for the answers and link
I had a look at the portable apps but this is actually for windows 2000 and above, so I think stylez you are correct in saying that as yet the answer is no, but it would be nice if they did make a version, oh well maybe one day.
To bad I found the wrong stuff , thought it looked very promising.
I must say I agree with stylez , Coreplayer and tcpmp is without a doubt the best players for WinMo..
Anyway keep on searching , and maybe you'll find something about the vlc someday, but until then I suggest you use coreplayer
Mod edit:
Do not post warez/cracked software on this forum!

Hi Folks
I just got my G-tab (yeah !!.. love it) ... did my homework and loaded a few diff roms .. using CWM - Harmony, TNT Lite 4.3 .. and now 4.4.
So far I believe I like this ROM the best ... i've got it about where I want it in terms of functionality .. with a couple of exceptions.
I loaded it with 4.4 the 1st time round and downloaded tons of apps to test it out and see what i liked and didn't like.
App store worked right off the bat... which is very cool.
ES Explorer (a must)
Tested movies - and some worked with ES Video Player only .. some
only worked with Rockplayer .. seems like codec related to me.
However, here's my issue...
I was testing with a vid.. got it working with say .. Rockplayer.
I reloaded ROM TNT4.4 to make it a clean install (using the following technique http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=842000 ) .. so far so good...all is back to normal. Right? Well not quite.
What worked before (in terms of vid playback).. no longer plays audio. Vids playing fine.. and i increased my video apps to
Double Twist
ES
MOBOplayer
RockPlayer
SummerPlayer
None play audio.. Odd i know.. all other audio is working.. music.. other vids..
Just wondering if there's a tweak i can do that anyone can think of.
Thanx for all your awesome work.. it provides tons of help to all .

On one rom, either tnt or vegan i had to plug then unplug headphones then sound works.
Found the solution - it was the Rock Player I downloaded the 2nd time around that was the issue. Removed and installed 1.6.3 .. all good. Still hit n miss for some vids depending on type (mpeg,mkv,avi..etc) so I have to try diff players at times. What they need is a VLC Media Player App (which i believe is in the works).. hopefully they'll enable streaming in this version as well.
Hope this helps..

It's not so much the container (AVI / MKV / MP4) as much as the audio codec. Some may not work properly. I haven't compiled a list but things like DTS may not work (off the top of my head). Obviously anything MP3 based will.
Not able to play m4v audio also, just so you know. The video plays though.
so i'm not sure if this is a thread yet or not but does anyone on here use icefilms.info? if so is there a way for those of us with rooted inspire 4G's to stream icefilms. it requires the divx player add on (old version of divx player) and icefilms script from user scripts to play on google chrome on my pc. seems like it should be easy for android phones but am a noob and have only just rooted my phone like 2 weeks ago. anyone with any ideas
im wanting to do this too, there is a greasemonkey app that you can get, but i dont think theres a divx webplayer addon
hi guys, Altair from icefilms here...
if you go here, follow this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=899141
then you can. I personally use an app called Vplayer, but YXPlayer works just as well...
if you copy the link to the video on megaupload, and go to the app, you can press the menu button and select input URL and then directly stream the video.
but coincidently im actually here on the forums now to try and get the ball rolling on an official app so... yeah, watch this space.

Self-explanatory: Just looking for a great video player for the HOX. It's strange how a file will play beautifully using VLC on my desktop PC but totally blow on here (strange audio, etc.). Most files play fine but I'm just looking for THE definite player(s).
Thanks!
*Update* After searching around for a bit, I did find an unofficial compilation of VLC for Android and it works beautifully with the S4 CPU we have. It looks like the XDA forum direct link to the APK has been taken down but here is the forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1517415
If you do some basic searching on google, you should be able to find it...it works GREAT!
I loved MXplayer on my atrix and i use it still on my transformer. I have used it a few times on my HOX and it works great
