I'm currently using the High Gloss Smoke TPU Cover for HTC Sensation 4G:
http://tpu-cases.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=48_25
But the glossy finish gets very disgusting with finger grease and oils.
Can you please help me out?
I'm looking for a TPU case with soft-touch coating or maybe some silicone grooves on the outside. I just need a TPU case with texture.
I used to use a pure silicone case, but it stretched out and the lint it attracts was annoying as hell! I also have the option to use a hard shell case with soft-touch coating, but the inside of that case is known to scratch up the back of the HTC Sensation, and that's a big No-No in my books!
I would be very grateful for any help you can provide. Thanks guys!
-Chris
The incipio cases aren't exactly soft touch, but they are matte and not at all glossy. Very fingerprint resistant.

It won't show finger oils like my other TPU case?
I know the Incipio case is made of NGP, which is just Incipio's own branded TPU material.
I have this two:

And I'm really satisfied, nice touching and nice protection, and in my opinion, the two are pretty beautiful.

That second case is very cool. I'm looking for something almost exactly like that: A TPU case with rubberized grip.
I live in the US though, so I'm not sure if it's a good idea for me to order something from London.
I have these 2 along with a Seidio Active Case and I ended up using the one that looks like the back cover of the phone the most. Both are TPU and were $2-4 on ebay. Both are soft with the shiny parts work to help in gripping the phone. Both are very tight fits and don't get oily or greasy and don't attract lint. I will probably get rid of the Seidio Active and one of the TPU cases.

That's a very neat case. It looks like it has the Insipio NGP finish with that gloss band in between. Very nice case.
You really don't get finger oils on that high gloss section? My case now is all high-gloss and gets super oily
Yes I do get some on the shiny parts of the case. If you want a case without that section check out the Incipio Case.

Do you know of other TPU cases that have soft-touch coating or rubberized grips on them? I'm trying to get a few options before I decide

the case-mate anti-fingerprint screen protector is legit. Probably one of the best and isn't grippy.

It fits like a glove, Especially the side which fit snug against the phone and don't lift up like silicone cases. No screen protector was included, I use a Zagg screen protector.

Let me start by saying the Diztronic TPU is amazing and absolutely perfect in every way, except one. The top and bottom chrome bezel are getting scratched by the sharp edges of the case. It's not from dirt and dust or just rubber marks, they're actual little scratches. I'm looking to buy one of the "S-Line" cases (on amazon because I have gift card credit). Others have mentioned that the edge is not as sharp on these and I do not mind the buttons being harder to press. Are the i-Blason and Cimo brands essentially the same or what? The i-Blason looks a little more refined and is rated better. Thanks!
edit: forgot, I have an Ionic guardian and it's great as well, but just too pocket sticky for me. Definitely is great protection though.
The bezel is so weak it even scratches by sliding the phone in and out of your pocket. So, not a big deal imho!

I've read threads of many other people complaining about the same issue. Even the Diztronic store on amazon has complaints of it. I remember having this issue with their cases on my Galaxy Nexus as well.
If your bezel isn't scratched yet, consider yourself lucky.
However, aside from that the Diztronic is the most solid TPU case you will find.

I disagree, my phone simply does not get exposed to dirt or sand that would scratch. Take of the case and rub your finger just inside the top and bottom inside edge of it. It's fairly sharp for TPU
TPU is just plastic, it won't scratch other plastic. That would be a horrible feature for a case lol.

i have both diztronic and i-blason.
i like the diztronic better. the i-blason is softer but it fits loose. diztronic fits like a glove. you will get more dirt/grit/crap between your phone and the i-blason case due to its fitment.
from all the phones ive owned with a shiney bezel, they all get micro scratches on them. theres no avoiding it unless you get a full body cover like xoskin/xtremeguard/bodyarmors/etc that covers the bezel. just use your phone as intended. any cases will get crap trap between your phone and case. just be sure to take it off regularly to clean it out.
I have the diztronic case on my n4 and the quality and fit is outstanding. I bought it off eBay and had it shipped to the UK from the States and it was still cheaper by a long shot than anything available here in the UK.
I use it with an invisible shield front and back protector and although it was fiddly getting it on and making sure the screen protector didn't lift, its now on and I have no lift at all.

AW: Diztronic vs i-Blason vs Cimo TPU cases
I can too say that diztronic is the best tpu out there.
Because different types of plastic can't have different levels of hardness and different surface finishes (like polished chrome plastic) aren't more vulnerable to scuffing. Yes, they're really small fine scratches but they're there and I wasn't expecting them.

I have a Diztronic case and the fit is prefect. No scratching at all. The only issue I have is the screen protector lifts when the case goes on or off. The film is centered well just for some reason always snags a bit on the bottom corners.

is there really a difference between a 1$ TPU case and all the other ones ? I thought they were all made in the same factory...
Surprised I haven't seen any reviews of the Cygnett cases. I've seen other Cygnett cases on previous phones and always wanted to try them out.
The case is a simple snap on design. The Carbon Fiber back looks really sleek and you can tell it is of high grade carbon fiber material. My favorite part of the case is actually the sides. The sides are of a matte finish that really enhances the grip of the phone. If you're looking for a real slim case, then this will be a good one to look for. The case is kind of expensive sitting at 30 dollars, but I feel the quality is worth it. I've had similar snap on cases from Ringke, SGP, and Elago, but the Cygnett case design is superior and overall the case just feels much sturdier. Also the matte finish has the best grip of any snap on case I've ever used.
If you're looking for protection, this case won't help much at all. I have dropped the phone from 5ft onto concrete and I heard a small bounce. When I looked at the phone, it was perfect, but I wouldn't rely on it.
Wow Cool
How is the lip on the device? I like that carbon fiber and their brushed aluminum one and I need to get a new case but I want to make sure that the lip is decent on the front if i place the phone face down.

The Lip is barely there. I'm talking like a 0.7mm lip over the front. The glass won't touch the ground when lied flat on its face.I even have a Mime glass protector on it and it still doesn't touch the ground.

I have the white carbon fiber version and the sides are more slippery (not matte) and the back looks like it is just woven tinsel. I would recommend getting the black version, NOT the white. I stupidly thought that it would look like the black carbon fiber, just white...

There have been a lot of threads and post about SPIGEN cases in particular scratching the metal frame of the N4.
What cases do NOT do this?
Thanks in advance
I'm using a Spigen Slim Armor for a week so far and no scratches on the frame. Don't see how it would either as only the soft inner tpu liner makes contact with it.
None, because it's not the case but the polished aluminum lip of the Note 4 that's the problem. Unless you live in a hermetically sealed environment, it'll probably end up scratched.
A few people have reported scratches with the Spigen cases but it'll happen with an otterbox, an UAG, a hardshell or a TPU case. For every person who doesn't have scratches, there will one someone who has scratches from using the same case.
Hey, perfect protection. I had S4 with S-View cover with Qi charging and it was fantastic. None scratches and wireless charging is awesome. I bought Note 4 (SM-N910F) Black with Samsung EP-VN910I Black. Fantastic

I'm also beginning to think that it's not the case but small bits of dirt being trapped between the case and frame that might be the real issue.
On some cases it's the material and on others it's particles. Either way, the aluminum is going to get marked up. Just can't worry about it....
I wish Samsung would have just stuck to plastic instead of trying to make it feel premium. Since I always put a case on my phone, I never see or touch the outside of the naked phone and would not have to worry about the metal frame. The all plastic phone was fine with me.
just put a piece of scotch tape over the metal frame before installing the case

I think I'm doing the same. Picked up a leather pouch from Amazon (bear motion) for 10 bucks when I need it.
I have my phone in a Ringke case since the moment I took it out of the box. My boyfriend doesn't use a case at all. Yesterday I took my phone out of the case to see how the metal rim is holding up in comparison to his, which is all scratched up. They are both just as damaged! Bottom line: it's not the cases, it will happen regardless. It appears to be so sensitive that the slightest speck of dust creeping in a case, or in a pocket, or bag, ruins it.

That tape is cheap on eBay; plenty $1 links for 5mm x 100 feet , but lead time is about 2 weeks; slow boat from China.
So far, I've only scratched the edges near the USB port (minor). Odd how the cases don't offer more protection around the ports. Should have just left the shipping tape on until this arrived. I've dropped a lot of phone's but haven't cracked a screen and don't want to start doing that so I'll try the generous application of the tape and hope it sticks well with swapping the case a lot because it looks like I'll be using a soft case for home and my Verus Thor for outings.
Thanks for the suggestion.
My Note 4 is 4 days old and I have removed one of my spigen cases a few times. The metal frame has got a few nicks. My iPhone 5s, which I babied, has tons of nicks and scratches. Though not completely visible unless you look for them. With these aluminum/metal phones this is normal.
I feel like the first scratch/nick on your phone is like the first scratch/dent on your new car. The first one is always the one that eats away at you the most and even if it's invisible to everyone else, you can pinpoint the exact location of the damage. I'm kind of surprised that there hasn't been a conclusive way to restore the chamfered edges yet though.
I haven't noticed it being sensitive. Mine has been naked since day 1. Owned it for a month or so and even have been bold and put it in the cup holder when driving. Not a single scratch *knock on wood*. I am looking into vinyls though, that's my current new trend. Started with my old m8, now gonna skin the note.
The Otterbox Defender and Commuter Series cases do not scratch the frame. I was very skeptical with the Defender Series, but was surprised by the results.

I'm not saying that any of our phones are deeply scratched either, but there is no doubt that the coating is not durable, as reported by many users.

Do you think a Defender case and a tempered glass screen protector could go together? I'm considering Otterbox but only if I can use my own screen protector.
Sent from my SM-P600 using Tapatalk
Since the S6 is very slippery but very good looking because of the glass, do you use a case because you want to be safe or do you use a skin to retain the phones thin body or you prefer it naked without anything on and around it?
Skin and Case! :good:
Definitely a case with shock absorbing properties. I'm not spending close to a grand on a glass encased phone just so it can have cracks on it.
I think the phone is gorgeous, but use a Verus aluminum bumper in order to get low drop protection and camera protection while keeping the phone mostly original looking. If it weren't for the protruding camera, I've consider carrying the phone bare. (Though I would be concerned with slippage.)
For comparison, I didn't hate the looks the of the S4, but I wasn't thrilled with them either so I put a Spigen Neo Hybrid on, which gave it a look that I liked more, while still looking like a phone and not a case. (Most people I showed my S4 to loved it and didn't realize it was a case.)
I think it's interesting that you bring this up because I asked a similar question in the "show us your case" thread, and people took offense to what I was asking. My basic question was "Do you use big UAG/Otterbox cases merely for protection, or do you prefer the look over the look of the bare phone." I guess I worded it poorly, as I mostly got defensiveness of case choices. Hopefully your thread gets better responses.
(In my photo below, the difference in screen glare and body color is only from a difference in lighting - I used different setups on different days and didn't match the screen lighting. There is no "glare" from the Verus case.)

That would be the risk to not having a potentially unsightly case.
Case + skin. case to protect from falls and skin to protect from scratches
Got both the uag maverick and ash case, prefer the ash on my sapphire black s6, and the maverick on a white s6 both look crazy awesome tho
I use a Dbrand skin and tempered glass screen protector in normal days. Just bought a spigen rugged armour as I'm gonna go on a 3 day camp and I don't wanna risk breaking it.
The dbrand skin should suffice for everyday use. It protects the rear glass from cracking if I ever drop it. And the tempered glass helps with the front glass. The only thing that is unprotected in the event of a drop is my sides.
It's your choice, do you like the feel of the S6 naked? Or would you rather have a cheap piece of TPU protecting it?
Also, if you choose to go naked/skin, the chamfered edges of the aluminium is very soft so it scratches rather easily. You can get a metal bumper to help with drop and impact protection on the sides.
Case. I would consider a skin, but the extra protection is nice. No way I'm carrying this phone naked. Then again, I never carry phones naked anyway.
Dbrand black leather skin on the back, otherwise naked. I hate cases, I'd rather pay for insurance and deductible for replacement than compromise the look and feel of a phone I like.
I just use screen guard both sides it looks and feels good
I had an iron shield on it but removed it about a week ago because the aluminum bumper was killing my GPS signal. Somehow in that week time I got a scratch on my screen. Make sure to put a screen protector on too!
Going naked. I did not pay $650+ to put this in a $5 case. I want to enjoy the phone as it was meant to be. I only have a tampered glass on top and that's good enough for me.

Before you read lol this is overkill but Decided to go with tempered glass from Pleson. I've used them before on my Moto X '15 no problems!
Going to see how the tempered glass and clear case work out!
I'm going to give the protector a try only because I want to have a glass screen to slide my finger on. Plus, who needs to worry about scratches, right? I think it'll work out well because the screen seems flat. I'm still deciding if I'm going to get a case or not.
A glass screen protector is a really good idea to improve the feel. I'd try to get away with just a bumper for a case. Full disclosure, I played with them at Verizon yesterday but I don't have one.

Purchased an Otterbox Defender case. I needed tough case and didn't have any experience with heavy duty cases other than Supcase's Unicorn Beetle, Otterbox's Defender, and Trident Case's Kraken. Supcase has one for preorder and I doubt the Trident will release a Kraken case for the Moto Z Droid.
The Defender is what I expected; A durable inside case surrounded by a softer shell. Had the same terrible plastic screen protector as every other Otterbox case. Popped it off the case, removed the adhesive with the edge of a blade.; With a tempered glass screen on the phone itself the fit is a bit snug, but the inner case still closes and everything still lines up correctly so everything is good on that end. What I didn't expect is the belt carrier is actually decent; the phone can attach in every orientation (face up/down, rotated 180 degrees about the face). It adds a bit of bulk, but I will gladly take it over a simple shell or soft case.

Good: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01H2K0M58/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (Great fit with the Incipio Battery Pack on the phone)
Bad: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HCN4PB2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Too long... AGOZ one listed above it perfect length for a naked phone at almost exactly 6 inches of internal length (~15.5 cm). The MND, on the other hand, is about 6.75 inches in length (16.75 cm)... the naked phone swims in that much length.
