I hate to have to say it, but you're asking the same question as, "What is the best flavor of ice cream for me?". None of us can tell you what that would be - you just have to keep licking them until you find one that you like.

Sorry dude, this thread is going to get locked soon. The only advice even experts will give here is to read. Read at least the first and last 5 pages of each of the ROMs. It gives good idea if any one is facing particular issues.

NO, read the LAST 5-10 pages of the thread so you know what the latest results are!

I say read the middle 5-10 pages, so you can be thoroughly confused by topics that most likely have already been resolved on versions that have long since been outdated!
The analogy of asking someone else what your favorite flavor of ice cream is, works very well..
Also, don't let one bad experience with a rom ruin the rom for you for good.
I mean, sometimes you do get a bad sample..
i honestly think you should give cm7 another shot. i am using mine with the glitch kernel which allows me to overclock it to 1.7 ghz and increased stability for me atleast.
The best one for me is froyo Continuum 4.1 with jk4 modem and xcalibur 2.3.5 kernel. I need stable and decent battery with a good amount of tweaks.
Ran CM 7.1 stable but battery was not good for me. Really enjoyed the tweaks.
howmydictate, as others have said, read up and make your own decision.

I know, I know, this sounds like a typical newbie opinion question. But I'm not exactly looking for opinion here. I'm looking for FACTS pertaining to which ROM is going to give me the most optimized performance (un-altered benchmarks or whatever) while still giving me the most functionality(I.E. all aspects of device performing as well or better than stock). I got this device a little over a week ago, and really like it. I have been reading thread after thread and just want some help, so please don't think I'm just looking for a quick un-researched answer. I am looking for legitimate advice. I am currently running VOODOO kernal and oc'd to 1.2 ghz and getting benchmarks around 1650 ish? i believe. I do like TW, but dont swear by it. I tried MIUI, and i cant really stand it. CM doesn't want to flash right either, and i don't know which direction i want to go. I also feel this thread might help others in my position. Does PnP offer noticeable performance increases, aside from removed bloat? Thanks in advance for any advice provided!
Heintz 57 is the best, most stable and functional. Everything works. PnP is a very close second and everything works as well. I say try em all. I have and keep finding myself back on H57. It's really a matter of seeing which one best fits YOUR needs and style.

I prefer miui, hands down, and i've tried them all. Miui + glitches kernel, i can get over 3k quad scores. Not to mention, its super cusomizable--super easy to change themes (no need to flash). Not to mention, it's updated weekly by a great team of developers so it's constantly improving.

I am running the same MIUI and Glitch and it is impressive, smooth, very customizable ect. For pure performance I found JT's Vanilla GB V6 with either his new kernel V3 or Glitch Kernel to be the fastest performer. Any of the MTD based ROMs seem to perform better and I won't go back myself.
miui ftw.

Miui is sex. Somebody used to put a lot of hard work into porting it for us, hmm perhaps he's off developing elsewhere.
I heard there is a good trigger rom around somewhere. I forget who the dev was but he used to be here. He was AWESOME! But they kicked him out for some reason
I honestly like the MIUI rom. Everything looks and works amazingly. Only one bug atm, no MMS while you are on Wifi. So.. all you do is just disable it and then get your MMS's, and then go back on. It works.

CM7 is my favorite. It's well thought out by the original developers, looks great, runs good, and will run 3x the benchmark your friends still on stock will! That being said, it's still under development, and will sometimes do some strange things. For example, I woke up one morning to find my screen was on with colors inverted. Had to pull the battery to unfreeze it.
So, for stable ROM, I like H57. It's not as new and sleek, but it's stable and works perfectly!

Can someone post links to the MIUI thread, and links to glitches kernel? I'm running pick-n-pack and ready to try something new. I want to make sure I grab the right files and get this going but I am having a hard time finding the right things. I just need someone that can confirm what the latest files are so i grab the right stuff. I guess I am looking for MIUI and Glitches Kernel. I should be able to figure out how to root, red recovery and use odin out as I've done all of those before.
Thanks.

I would stick with the bundled JT's kernel for the moment. Right now if you flash the latest MIUI then the Glitch kernel, you'll lose all sensors. It sounds like they should have the problem fixed soon, though.
Thanks for the quick reply. Are the links in your sig where I can watch for this to make sure I can do this when it's fixed?
You wont find the latest MIUI releases on here anymore. [mod edit: you know the rules....]
I can't seem to find the latest stable build for Heinz, can anyone link?

I'm new here but not to Android, I've been following SGS2 for a while. I gave my Inspire 4G to my brother but he wants it rooted now.
What is the best option for speed and battery life over stock for a 15 year old? He plays games quite a bit and just wants it to look cool and be fast.
I've heard CM7 is solid as well as Miui, is there something else I should look into? Something closer to stock.
Im running UnNamed on my SGS2 which I dont think is available on this device (we have CM7 and Miui too but its not for me).
Thanks for the help and please don't just flame me out for "not searching" because I have.
You will get many different opinions on Roms, best is to try to see what works best for you. I use Arhd 6.3.1 and have zero problems.

I don't believe you searched because if you did you would notice that every thread created like this ends with, THERE IS NO OVERALL BEST STABLE ROM! You must try it for yourself. Every user will swear by their ROM they use. There is no perfect or most stable ROM..every ROM has its bugs and its on you to decide what you can live with and what you can't.

Hey so i wanna know what kernal and set up you have and if its running good for you. Im running synergy r73 with ziggy kernal clocked at 1.5 with lag free. It runs fine but i wanna try some different ones. This is for ICS
JB or ICS? From what I know, there are only kernels being offered from Imoseyon (on Rootzwiki) and Morfic (in original Dev forum). I would recommend making your nandroid backups and trying them all to see what runs well on your device. Every device performs differently when it comes to kernels.

Okay i am on a Carbonrom 4.3.1, i have not flashed any kernels because i know of none but would like to, and i want the best rom out there if its touch wiz or Aosp.... I like touch wiz messaging but other then that i like stock... give your most stable, best battery, performance, kernel and rom i should try out.. :cyclops::cyclops::cyclops:
Sigh... I see several of these threads every week. They All get closed. Look I gonna give you the short version. Go read the threads in the developer section and pick one at random. Give it a few days and if you don't like it then nandroid and flash another. No one can tell you which is the best because people have different usage patterns. General rule of thumb is touchwizz tends to have better battery life and better signal then AOSP. Other then that can't really tell you anything else. Just go to the different ROM threads and read the OP at least 2 times from top to bottom. Look at screen shots. Same goes for kernels. For the record I'm enjoying Axiom

The problem is that we all have different experiences with each rom to be of help to anyone. The truth is there isn't a best rom out there as what works for one person can be crappy choice for someone else. Lastly by asking that question alone can cause a debate over which rom is the best.
Second Post:
Hello all!
Im currently running Liquid Smooth on my g3, its okay, but im looking for to explore more ROMS, my goal is good performace and good benchmarks!
What would you say is the best (most developed) G3 rom so far? Thanks!
Honestly, at this point they are all very much alpha/beta builds. I don't think one is really going to be that far ahead of the others. In fact, I bet most of them are using the same kernel at this point. This will change over time, but it is so early in the development stage that most of the ROMs are basically at the same point in the development cycle. It really comes down to which ROM offers the modifications and options that you are looking for.
At this point i am getting the best battery life from timmytim's CM11. However, liquidsmooth seems to have the most customizations and option so far(including the weird mandatory floating mode for chrome). But, as previously mentioned, these are all very primitive builds, all using the same kernel and all have preety much the same options. Anyway, once some devs get around to making official versions of ROMs for us, we're pretty much stuck with these featureless and underdeveloped builds. Just my two cents.
Im using CloudyG3 1.2 with no issues or mayors bugs so far... And coming from a LG G2 user always using Cloudy's ROMs i must say that are one of the best and solid ROM i had tried.
If you haven't tried it yet its worth giving it a shot.
I was shocked to see how few ROMs there are for such a popular phone. Why is this? On my Note 2, I feel like there were a dozen ROMs within the first 6 months of release, and I never had any lack of them to choose from after that point.
Are people not interested in developing for the G3, is ATT too locked down, or is it just too early?

It's still to early. Although the bump exploit has been know for about 2 months, it has only been about 2 weeks since it was available to developers. So considering we are only about 2 weeks into actually being able to customize and build ROMs/Kernels, we are doing pretty well IMHO.
Oh cool. So I have options on build D85010f right now? Or do you think I should wait?

Second post and you choose to use it on a fairly rude question. One of the niceties we afford our developers who work for little or no compensation is not to ask "who is the best". They all have pros and cons depending on your tastes, try a few and see what you like. But don't ask "who is the best" or "what is the ETA". Yeah, the latter one is a CM thing, but it is sound practice.
