No problems here, with Windows 8.
i've been using windows 8 as main operating system for my laptop for some time now... right from build 7989 back in july and then dev preview from early september on..
i have had a bad time running windows phone sdk and several tools for wp7 on windows 8... so just for my phone, i run a 32 bit windows 7 on a virtual machine inside windows 8

check this post. Link # 4 is Zune 4.8
I believe this includes both 32 and 64 bit versions and installs the correct one based on your system just like the release version of Zune v4.7.

odd, this thread is pretty much dead. Zune 4.8 is available from MS and it does include both 32 and 64 bit. It will install the version appropriate for your OS.
I'm on win7 64bit and download Zune 4.8 from their site ,didn't know they have a 64bit version.

if you download the Zune setup and you unpack the setup.exe with 7zip you will see folders for X86 and X64
what i know is i don't have any problem with my zune and my 64bit pc.Can't remember which bit I install

you got 64bit os it will install 64bit. it does that silently.

You mean the actual device itself? No. It's possible, but to my knowledge, no-one has created software for the HTC Explorer to do so, let alone all the other types Android devices.
You can try this, No guarantees this'll work though.
When they say "Recommended Windows System Requirements", they mean your desktop PC should have these specifications as in your desktop PC should run Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7 as it's operating system.

I've recently upgraded my laptop to Windows 8. On Windows 7 I had Zune, Dev Tools, Xap Deployer, etc to connect to my phone (Omnia 7.5 dev/interop unlocked). How can I do the same on Windows 8. Couldn't find Zune for Windows 8.
Tried searching the forums but searching for "windows 8" just gives results for Windows 7.8.
Any help is much appreciated.

Just go to the xbox music site and download zune again. And go to the apphub site and download the windows phone tools again.
Everything you had on windows 7 will run on windows 8. I just slapped Win 8 on my laptop and just finished installing the dev kit and zune. Took me about an hour to do.

I read somewhere that Zune Software is not compatible with W8. I tried it also on W8 CP without any luck. I guess I should try on the released version now. Downloading...
Btw, what version of dev tools did you use? Can you post a link?

Naw, the Zune software is fully compatible with W8. I just finished importing my music library from my phone to my laptop.

Zune works perfectly on Windows 8.

actually i want to upgrade from windows 7 to windows 8.1 and i have adb setup i also want adb on the new os will i have to resetup adb on the pc??
Don't worry Windows 8.1 will handle 'em all...Just Download the adb drivers if you get a problem... Everything will work fine and make sure you select the 'Keep all files and programs/setting' ...

Same answere from myself.
The reasons are:
No required drivers compatible with Windows.
This is an arm32 device. W10 needs arm64 or x86 or x86_64.
