[Q] (GSInfuse) Exchange Email - Samsung Infuse 4G

please help!! I have searched through every email thread I could find and cant seem to find the answer.
coming from stock to infused to miui and currently running gsinfused 1.1.5, the problem im having is getting my exchange email setup on gsinfuse and since I cant post in the dev thread hope someone can help.
using all prev roms I have been able to set it up using the default email app as well as setting up touchdown without any problems what so ever, when I go to set up in GSInfuse it gives me an error about APN settings, I have tried multiple settings used from different threads as well as restored back to default settings and still no luck. Touchdown I cant even install because it says not compatible in the market, which its based on 2.3.5 so dont understand that one either.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try disabling Data and try the setup over wifi, that worked for me on Dlev. You might also try the one APN trick posted in several places here in the forums that helps with random data loss.

Duttys V3 final issues

I would've posted in the V3 thread but since there was the new V4 thread and 300+ pages on there, people might not be as interested to look at the older thread.
So I flashed Duttys V4 rtm but found that there were many bugs and FELT like it was slower than the V3. But with both ROMS I am having problems with sending and receiving MMS. Or at times having a hard time receiving data. It would tell me that I am connected to the net but wouldn't transfer any. I use Opera 8.65 and it once told me it could not find my proxy settings. I've done many many hard resets and a couple radio changes. I get one or the other services. It's either I get my internet or I get my MMS. Never both at the same times. Anyone with input on this?
I'm guessing I must be the only one experiencing this problem then.

Thank you for your ooh so helpful input. I've already read the wiki and there is nothing pertaining to the issue I am having here.

Well obviously I have been reading and searching the net plus xda and didn't come up with a resolution hence my question here. And my comment back to Hdstreetglide wasn't meant to be of an ass type response, I told him it was a helpful input but unfortunately it didn't solve my problem. So what kind of an attitude would you have liked for me to have? What would you have liked for me to say?

Thong, We are not being negative or nasty. If you will read Dutty's wiki I think you will find your answer. Colin is correct that this question has been answered several times in the 300 pages.

Are you with AT&T?
Do you have the MediaNet package?
if so, then go to :
start, settings, connections tab, connections, advanced tab, select network.
make sure to select media net on both drop down cells, then on the upper one, click on:
edit, proxy settings tab, uncheck the tab that says "this network uses a proxy server......" , click OK, you might need to reboot your phone and you are set to go.

Thanks asfoor that worked. unlike the WIKI it doesn't talk about what you just posted.
Thong...I have the same problem that you have been experiencing. My MMS doesn't work and I don't have a data package on my plan to try out MEdia Net so I'm in the process of figuring this out. I've changed radios a few times to no avail...I will update with any progress.
I have searched and tried and installed the MMS settings CABs. I'm running 12.17 radio but MMS isn't working right now...any help would be helpful.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but don't you need some sort of data plan to receive MMS? Because it has to connect to Media Net to send and receive. I know when ATT accidently took off my data plan I wasn't able to connect PERIOD. It would try to but then it would give me the system message saying something like "Cannot connect to the answering modem etc etc."

Well what about unlimited messaging bundles? They allow unlimited messages of any sort to any one which includes MMS. When I first got my phone a week ago and flashed it to Dutty's V2 ROM I was able to receive small postage sized picture messages but after I updated to Dutty's V3 and radio I was no longer able to.
I forgot to add that I have an unlimited messaging bundle but no data plan due to the phone always being near a WiFi signal.

Is there anything else I have to do but install the disable hidden proxy cab? I tried that but still not able to send or receive MMS messages...I'm about ready to throw in the towel and just not use this feature at all although I would really like it if it did.
well i've tried everything that I could find about MMS issues and still nothing. I can't send nor receive pictures and my phone says that it can't connect to the servers. I give up.

questions about upgrading to a new rom

hello all...i have a couple questions and im hoping a few of you guys will take the time to help me out...thanks in advance
1. ive tried 3 or 4 new roms (juicy, mightymike, energys...)and for some reason the data connection turns on by itself...ive already checked to make sure that nothing is automatically updating (weather, stocks, etc) and theyre not....ive read that n 6.5 the data connection reads a on but its really not??? can someone help me out because my battery seems to be draining quickly.
2.battery life on the above mentioned roms seem to be not that great.
3.my phone runs at anywhere from 55 to 75 on boot up with the above mentioned roms. i tried using the no push inteernet cab and the ssk dynamic resource proxy cab but they dont seem to make a difference
4. i keep hearing about this program called XDA UC...i think i know what it does but im not 100% sure...will someone please elaborate on what this is, and how to use it (ive read the thread on xda about it but it looks like greek to me
5 i cant seem to get MMS to work on any rom what so ever....no sending or receiving...ive tried the "MMS FIXES" that are suppose to work, but they dont help unfortunately
6. on some roms the TF3D audio manager will work and on some it doesnt (and it wouldnt work on my verizon stock rom either)...i wish i could figure this out
i think thats it for now....please help people..this is definitely one of the most helpful, useful, and informative forums ive been on and as always i appreciate anyones input

[BUG/REQ_Android_ICS] Sync Mails via Exchange!

Hey Developers
I have a problem with ICS on my Sensation... Every ROM i tried it was the same... (InsertCoin, ARHD etc.)
When i want to sync my mails via exchange (gmail) the settings i setup are not saved, every time when i hit the mail icon there are only 3 days synched and the sync size is also reseted to default 5kb...
Sync days and time from - to stay saved, only those two options always resetet... Why??
Is there any fix for this or is it an build bug from ICS?
Thanks!
Me too!
I've exactly the same problem, doesn't matter what ROM I use or if I full wipe or not, and it's REALLY ANNOYING.
Sorry not much help, but I share your pain...
I know, I'm experiencing the same
yeah, this problem has been in every sense 3.6 rom i've used. anyway, the solution i used is to used a de-sensed rom which does not contain this error. (hypernonsense is very stable for use)
Wrong section and it's a well known bug.

I think we all know that this bug is well known.
So think the idea of this thread is to show our devs how many people are suffering of this problem.
I also think that everyone knows that it's HTC's fault, but maybe our geniuses here at xda-dev are better than the HTC-devs in finding a solution
I'd love to see this working!
Hi guys,
in my ROM it is working fine,I use NRGZ ROM ICS with exchange active sync, exchange server, not gmail.
I tried out and both points are saved..

Any fix for this? I am getting the same for my gmail account, but not my company mail. Strange... If anybody here does not experience the issue with gmail, please share your setting. Thank you.
I have the same problem with Hotmail. I tried ARHD, InsertCoin, and Elegancia. Have not tested NRG ICS, will try later this week.
ICS has been out for already a couple of weeks. Has anyone tried it on STOCK ICS?

Yep, it still exists. It's a bug on all ROM's based on the Stock ICS release.
Installed yesterday ARHD 6.6 and settings stay,as long as I do not turn off the handset or restart it.
I know it may or may not be the ideal solution, but when I had my HTC Desire it also had problems with exchange active sync, and like the Desire I have installed the AOSP ICS mail apk and so far push email has been working fine and sticking to the assigned settings regardless of reboots etc.

How could I install ARHK 6.6, while I already have OTA ICS and Revolutionary doesn't suppport HBOOT above 1.18 to set my device on S-OFF?

Hi, this problem is driving me crazy.
My work exchange account works fine, settings are saved and stay there even after restart, but the settings of my hotmail (config as exchange account also) are not kept.
Also I have some problems with some emails (originally written in english) which are displayed in chinese characters. I can't find anyway to show them in English.
Can someone post or link the ASOP ICS mail apk?
Brgds
Fixed with OTA 3.33 update

Confirm, finally the fix on the latest OTA.
Also the HTC Note was placed.
The initial optimization has disappeared.
Nice update!

Browser Phone Links Not Working

I wanna preface this by saying while I'm sure I'm not the first one to have had this problem, I've searched Google as well as XDA and I can't seem to find anyone.
tel: links, as well as any other links that want to open an application, such as signing in to catch.com to open AK Notepad, won't open. They instead open the "Webpage not available" page.
I'm using an HTC Sensation 4g. I've tried a couple different browsers, and a couple different ROMs. I've also tried accessing the links over wifi and over the mobile network. At the moment I'm using the stock browser on Android 4.0.3 with Sense 3.6. If you need any more information about the phone let me know.
And thanks in advance for any help.
I know this isn't much help, but I am having the same issue, using the same phone as you.
Currently I'm running Android Revolution HD 6.6.7. I have used several previous versions of this ROM, however, and only recently am I having this issue.
Well at least I know I'm not the only one. hopefully we can figure it out.

[Q] Peak/Off Peak email?

Yes, I have Googled and searched with out being able to find an answer...
Currently I am running:
unlocked
s-on
hboot 1.45.0013
ParanoidAndroid 2.99
I am trying to find a way to set peak and off peak email times like the one that came on the phone from the factory. I have looked at the profiles settings but really liked the fact that it was automatic before. I have also looked at some apps in the PlayStore but I am not finding anything that really just integrates into the email app that came with ParanoidAndroid.
I really like ParanoidAndroid (I have put many other ROMs on this phone already) and don't want to lose it. I am using Hotmail and Gmail.
So, does anyone know of anything out there? If not, I have never done this before but would it be hard to learn how to make an app or write a line of code to do this? Please excuse my ignorance but I am willing to learn if someone is willing to help me out.
