i cannot even tell you how i got it bricked in the first place. I was just trying to flash a new rom (Valhalla 1.3.2 to be exact) and it went into a bootloop so i flashed back to stock via odin, but it kept failing. When I finally got it to work and come on, it only stayed on for about 10 minutes and then it shut off and nothing. There are no lights and when i plug it into the computer the computer makes the sound like something is connected, but when I go in to the devices it says unknown device with a little yellow ! next to it? Can this be fixed? Please help, I have been reading this forum for hours.
When you plug it in & the PC makes.the hardware found noise, have you tried firing up ODIN to see if it detects the phone? If so, see if you can flash KG4. It was the first GB ROM to come with boot loaders (I think).

after holding the power button down for almost 10 minutes i tried to get it into download mode and i got it...but it isn't being read by the pc it is still saying unknown device. im afraid to pull the battery or unplug it because i am afraid it wont go back into download mode

When you say it isn't being read by the PC, do you mean in Odin or in Windows' device manager? Even if dev mgr doesn't recognize it there's a chance Odin might.

Basically when I boot my phone up, all it shows is an image of a phone, a sign with a ! in the middle, and the pic of a pc. Is there any possible way to fix this or do I have to send it back to tmobile? If it helps I dont think my phone is usb debugging mode either
You should be able to fix . try this.
I'm nit able to get my phone into download mode or recovery. Everytime I boot it up it shows the same screen I mentioned in the OP

try turning fone off and taking out the battery.... then ensure your holding down volume up n down buttons while pluggin in usb.... and you get the fone into download mode.... hope that helps

Open Odin 1.7 on your computer and plug your USB into your PC. Now take out the battery and hold down volume keys while plugging in USB and putting battery in. Should bring you to download mode. Once in download mode download kd1 put it into PDA and go for it.
Note:it dosent have to show up in download mode to actually be in download mode. If it shows up a little yellow box means in your in download mode.

I believe I have a similar issue, from Krylon's KD1 CWM, i Rezipped correctly, flashed, this this happened..
However, phone sits on Galaxy s4g boot up screen forever.. left it for 15 minutes now.
Also phone will no longer boot into CWM, looks like this may have bricked me.
Yes I did wipes, yes i followed the re-zip instructions correctly, yes I've flashed roms I know the drill.
Anyone know how to fix this? Or does this rom take forever on the first boot? 20+ minutes? doubt it...
And I cant boot back into CWM, Or stock recovery so i'm not sure how to fix this.
It literally either sits on the first Galaxy S 4g screen, or if i hold three button salute, it acts like it would normally boot into recovery, and cycles over and over with no recovery boot.
**UPDATE** Got mine fixed, odin+download mode
I got the drivers from this site and I had Odin running before I tried to put my phone into Download mode, Odin didn't not pick it up
So I got it figured out. You were right about using running Odin before hand, I just had to use a different usb cable. I brought my phone back. Thanks for all your help
i recently bought a samsung galaxy s 4g, and i used odin and flashed a sidekick (my brothers phone) rom on accident.
cant get to the download mode
cant get to the recovery
cant power on the phone
it hasnt yet been 30 days since ive had the phone, so could i take it back to the store and just say its not turning on can i get an exchange?

Or you could follow the directions posted in this link to unbrick, as posted by Jager in the General SGS4G forum.

It happens to me all the time. Just plug phone to computer holding volume up and down at same time. It shows the phone-cable-pc thingy and that's download mode. I went into that when I failed to Odin by mistake and just decided to try to Odin while in that "mode" and it did flashed. Hope this helped.
*Have Odin open before you plug cuz' that way you know it found the device.
*I think this method shown on Rootzwiki I discovered first but never posted. It happened while flashing 1st Audiophile. LOL... anyway, w/e. Good luck!

Try this even if the screen stays black/off, as long as Odin recognizes it (You'll get the yellow box with COM# in it) these steps will help.
Hello Everyone, just like to say i've been following XDA forums for awhile now, i've never had to ask for help cause i usually find a solution if i do my research, but this time im in need of some. So heres what happened,.... I just had flashed my sgs4g back to stock+root using Odin, everything was fine until i decided to flash a different rom using Odin, during the process everything was running good until towards the end, instead of odin saying pass it said failed, then my phone switched screens on me, instead of download mode, its now in this cell phone, exclamation point, computer screen, from what i read it should still be able to be read by Odin to flash back to stock, but my problem is it dont get read by the computer no more, i've tried to remove the drivers and then reinstall them but its still the same screen and Odin dont read it, Any suggestions would be Awesome!!!, Thank You,... ahead of time
The only time Odin has not found my phone was because it needed a reboot.

Reboot and plug the phone in a different USB port. Do a battery pull wait and then try again.

Try this
Unplug your phone from the computer and pull the battery
Start Odin and load your files
With the battery still pulled, plug your phone into the USB on your PC
Hold Vol+Up and Vol+Down and re-insert the battery
Odin will now recognize your phone.
Hit Start
Thanks again everyone for your input, but unfortunately my computer and phone stop cooperating with each other, i tried rebooting my computer and deleting all files and re-installing them, and still nothing! not sure what's going on, but later today i'm gonna try all this with my buddy's computer hopefully it works....

Ok this actually sounds similiar to something that happened to me, so here goes:
Was using Odin back to stock and something went wrong during. The phone screen went into a rainbow/starry clusterfack and then black. Couldn't get into download mode or anything, everytime I booted the stars came back or nothing at all. So eventually I just did what I would do if going into download, pulled batt, plugged in while holding volumes. Nothing came on to the screen but decided to continue, so I hit the volume up do accept the warning screen even though I couldn't see it and finally my phone showed up on my PC. Hit start in Odin and it worked and downloaded luckily. Sorry for the long explanation but, give this a try.

Never seen that but, it looks like your phone is having problems connecting to your PC, try rebooting the PC and then reconnect usb and phone.
Also I did a little googling, and I believe it means a bad flash, some ppl have fixed by a hard reset so try that link.

thanks for the help and info ... a reboot of my laptop fixed the odin not seeing my phone reflashing now ... and its back up and seems fine atm

That screen its pretty rare on the infuse, good thing!. They really made this phone pretty much unbrickable under normal conditions.

That is a form of download mode. Open odin and try connecting phone to pc ans see if odin reads it. If it doesnt kerp trying it will eventually. I had this hapoen to my captivate

yeah this phone its hardcore unbrickable... haha as bbwolf said its just a DL screen that usually appears (at least to me) when i connect the infuse and use odin with front or externally conected USB ports also happened to me in all 3 ports of my bro laptop
Instead using the back USB ports will prevent the outpowering of the usb port and you will flash flawlessly but Infuse its harcore you really have to mess things up to brick it... if even possible 0.o
If happens again relax... go to a desktop and flash with a back USB u will be back on track in notime
Samething happened to me, I ended up getting a factory replacement. The same day I placed the order with att I finally got Odin to work.

Had that exact screen when my phone took a tumble half way in a odin flash I took battery out plugged back in and odin recognized and flashed took a really long time though to flash longer than normal not sure why

Ok im in CwM Voodoo Lagfix Rev v3.0.2.8x
My mounts are correct
I go to Install from zip
Then Choose zip from sd card
Then I chose my rom
I get this error E:Cant mount /SDcard/Bionix_Frost_SGS4G.zip
Installatioin aborted.
I get this with anyone I try what am I missing here?
You sort of ran into the same problem as the guy in this thread yesterday.
To sum up that thread for you:
1. Download a Gingerbread rom. Here are sone samples:
Octane
Valhalla Final
KJ6 AOSP Style
2. Use the Gingerbread Starter Pack guide to flash it without any problems.

Yes been trying that Im here it says all threads complete but phone doesnt reboot to pull battery its just on the downloading screen still
4) Load up Odin, and load the KC1 files, DON'T TOUCH ANY OTHER OPTIONS, leave them like they are even if Odin changes them!
- 4a) PIT: Sgs4g.pit
- 4b) PDA: pda.tar.md5
5) Flash and let the phone reboot. Once you see the T-Mo startup screen (the pink one), OR the CWM (red text) screen do a battery pull.
Try pulling the battery after Odin is done and see if it boots up.
Edit: oh and unplug it from the PC when its booting up

Im messing up here its not working right my first time using this odin and its not picking my phone up I just found a video on it and I see now so now I need to fix that some how and i should be ok.

Sounds like you don't have the USB drivers installed.

Well I got it started and really messed up the cord got bumped and now I think my phone is bricked all i see is a pic of a phone and a void and a pc like its telling me i unplugged it oh no.
I just fixed it back now tomorrow have to try odin again and be more careful

Dang got myself locked up again with odin it sticks at set partion left it for 45 mins gave up thank goodness for Heimdal one click Why cant i do this lol
Wish i could just flash from zip but keep getting that dang cant mount sdcard/rom name tried numerous sd cards reformat.

What version of ODIN are you using? Also, when usong ODIN make sure you don't mess with any of the checkboxes - just let ODIN decide what to check.
I'm not sure about the CWM error as I've not experienced that problem.

Weird that it keeps doing that. How did you manage to fix it the first time?
Dang 2 hours now im back up i guess i give up lol i held vol up and down cord plugged in then insert battery.

This method got my phone back this time but before i kept unplugging the phone from the cord and had 2 cords plugged into PC I kept switching back and forth then it recognized.Just messing around to see if i can find a way to get it to recognize in DL mode now and now it wont.

Hmm, if you've tried every usb port on your computer, try a different computer.
Maybe you got some funky usb host device on your computer that the phone just doesn't like.
I have tried I have a Windows 7 and an XP I get the same.I just picked up a new cable to see if that works and still the same.
