[Q] Super Smooth Rosie for DS? - HTC Desire S

Does anyone of you guys know if this mod work with the current runnymede port from proxuser?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1302914

Omg!! It works on Hyperion! It's super super smooth now!
It breaks rc tweaks though!!
It says that runnymede already has it included.

It works on Hyperion??
So i have to choose what i want in the rc tweaks, flash this rosie and then be happy?

Pretty much. Every other aspect of tweaks work (android lock screen change etc)
Just sense option appear to no longer work. This significantly speeds up the scolling action! It's much smoother.
I went back to my nandroid resorts, as I use tweaks a lot
Your already on runnymede, so it already has this included...

Nope, went back to my nandroid restore.
I use RC tweaks often, so I decided to revert back.
If you have time, I'd suggest trying it, then restoring back if you decide you can't live without tweaks.
It's really does work well!

if it slickens up Rosie as much as people seem to be saying it may will be worth the hyperion cook trying to incorporate it into the ROM, to determine If it's possible to do with out ruining the tweaks.

Hi guys this should work for your roms based on the current stock Desire S Sense 3.0 base, this base is very similar to ours
i've added an even smoother full flattened version called it ultra smooth, also added transparent and RCtweaks editions
its always best to ask your fav chef if its compatible, then again you can also try it but backup first!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18412879#post18412879
as for runny roms based on RC v2.1 and v2.2 has super smooth mod enabled, v3.0 has super smooth optional in the RCtweaks

I personally don't like HTC Sense , but I wanted to try the latest 2.50 base. So I though I'd share.
I don't envisage updating this ROM with features as I just want to try Stock HTC Sense. If it contains bugs then HTC put them there.
Thanks for rooted ruu

Apparently there are some fixes to wifi, gps, mobile networks and bluetooth.

I have, I've not tried any ARHD releases for a while now though. My personal take on Sense is that it's too bloated. I'd like to see what features HTC cut from the Desire Gingerbread update to get the size down. Perhaps then I may try port that.
If Paradoxxx can cut CM7 down to 53MB and everything works great, what are HTC adding with the extra 200MB?
I am quite impressed with this 2.50 base though.
Its quick, pretty snappy moving between menus/apps. And the I've not come across any bugs or FC's. Battery life is very good, only dropped 14% from 7AM to 5PM with light usage. Seems like a good release from HTC.
It's still not convinced me yet.

There is no deodex patch as it is a Stock, emphasis on the word "Stock", ROM.
I Don't see why you can't try this on your Inspire, just make a backup beforehand.

[Q] best ROM ?

which is best custom rom for HTC D s ??
Stable for daily use
Good battery life
fast performance
No bugs
Best... hmmm, that's quiet personal.
I tried LBC Saga 0.5.3 which worked very good, but because off some minor issues (probably my own faults) I changed to Virtuous Unity 1.27...
So if you ask me --> beautiful sense 3.0, no lag/very smooth, better batterylife than stock, ... = Virtuous Unity 1.29!
However, like I mentioned, LBC Saga Mod is also a very good ROM...
Try them both out for a few days and see for yourself!
It's personal indeed but I think the Virtuous Unity ROM is the most stable version.
try miui

I really like Cyanogen on my old bravo desire. There is an unofficial port for the new saga desire, but I read it has GPS issues. I use my GPS daily so like the OP, I am wondering the best custom rom that has NO BUGS.
Going to try this virtuous one everyone is raving about.
Virtuous 1.29 and MIUI!
I've tried all the ROMS for Desire S and for me Virtuous 1.29 is the perfect ROM for our desire S! I love the full sense 3.0 experience!
MUIU rom is also great but it's not yet stable.

Ok, i tried virtuous 1.29 based on recommendations in this thread and others. I really like the look and feel. Could easily get used to it.
Some major issues restoring my backups though. A lot of the apps just won't work once restored, just get a force close button. Perhaps cos I am restoring from Cyanogen which I think was A2SD+ enabled? Would that cause issues?
OK, FIRST,Since you say NO BUGS, Don't try MIUI or CM7
For your first ROM, I'd recommend LBC Mod, the Dev provides a lot of support, it's close to stock and has all the best parts of Sense 3.
After that,Try Virtuous Unity.
Virtuous Unity ROM. Only bug I have faced is voice search does not work. Apart from that, it's perfect.
I've played about with LBC, Cordroid but have settled on Virtuous Unity.
To me it's just more stable but that's just my personal opinion.
The solution to voice search problem for Virtuous Unity v1.31.0 ROM
If your voice search does not work on Desire S for VU v1.31.0 ROM,
you may try the following steps.
1. extra the following three files from "/system/lib" in saga_lbc_mod_v0.5.3-full ROM:
libaudio.so
libhtc_acoustic.so
libvoicesearch.so
2. use the three files to replace your files in /system/lib/ on your Desire S.
3. reboot
it work for me.
good lucky!!
I use LBC and am aware of no bugs within it (that don't occur across all ROMs).
I've tried the other ROMs but always end up coming back to LBC.
IMO it's perfect, has Sense, is fast, decent battery life, it's close to stock and has good user and developer support and regular upgrades...

I tried Virtuous as my first custom ROM but didn't like the 3D homescreen. Also it feels laggy and some things look weird from the 16:9 to 15:9 resizing. Maybe it's fixed in the newer versions i don't know.
So i tried LBC since it's still using the 2.1 launcher. Had a couple of stability issues but it's fixed by using stock kernel. Now it's rock solid.
I didn't like the 3D Homescreen, too. Right now I'm back on rooted Stock ROM. For me the most useful ROM was LBC with update 0.54. Will try this again with stock kernel an new radio.
I tried Virtuous yesterday but for me is has now good battery life (though there are other oppinions) and, but I'm not shure, the camera app isn't working well indoors. Made some pictures and I think the stock app works better.

most of the customization on LBC rom can be removed easily
& custom ROMs take more RAM to make the device faster
after flashing a ROM you need to give it some time to see it at its full speed as it take time for the rom to setup things, give it a day or so
if you want animations you can try spare parts+ & anim mod(paid, you can also get this effect from uot kitchen)

Any suggestions for good roms for the mytouch4g

Well I'm not asking for the best roms but, just some roms that you think are good for the mytouch 4g. I really do like the style of the ics but it is still in beta version (for the mytouch 4g) and I would rather just wait until the majority of the bugs have been fixed. There are just so many roms I really don't know which ones to pick from. I've tried the Cm7 but I had some problems with the mms on it unfortunately. SO i had to get rid of it.
But anyway. Does anyone have some suggestions on some roms that they like on their mytouch 4g? I don't really know which ones to pick from thanks.
and please provide a link to the roms download page as well, if you can.

But here's what you do:
1. Ensure you have the latest Gingerbread radio
2. Do a full wipe and install Virtuous Unity
2. Download Root Explorer
3. Download GO Launcher EX
4. Set Go Launcher as the default launcher
5. Using Root Explorer, remove all Sense, widgets, themes, and other bloat you don't need from /data/app AND /system/app.
You will now have the fastest, and most stable ROM available.
I second both those 2 answers but since you tried CM7, you could now try some sense ROMs like Darkside 4 or Unity, then perhaps MiUI.
Currently running CM7.2 and liking it. Love Darkside Sense too. VUnity and Affinity are good as well, for starters ...Liked MIUI too ...
I might suggest another way to clean up for Sense ROMs is to use ROMCleaner, which is handy ...

The most stable rom?

Hi all.
I realize there are loads of ics roms being developed for our device. I thank the devs for putting so much effort to keep our devices worth having. But I need some advice on finding a stable rom for daily use. (Texting, camera, gaming). I have used all the ics roms on our forum and experienced multiple freezes and reboots while on my daily usage.
I was wondering which rom is the most stable yet useful in terms of functionality at the moment.

I tried ViperS briefly, but really missed the Elegancia look.
I've tried both Elegancia and ViperS. I prefer the ViperS rom. It has a lot more tweak to sense 4, like infinite scrolling. Although I do like the theming on Elegancia a bit better. I haven't had any major bugs with either and the both have pretty good battery life.

Fair enough its through an app and not intergrated into the OS but if m0narx would share how he does it (yeah he posted a thread about it a while back but the hack he posted back then doesnt work properly as it does in viper rom) then it would be intergrated
VipersS is pretty stable and smooth, lots of customizations. It could use more speed, updates are getting slower though.

The next update will include speed increases, or so venom hub says. And the updates are getting slower too because it's pretty damn stable with a mountain of tweaks. Speed increases and bugfixes are all that's left to add to it really, maybe some more tweaks. It couldn't be more of a complete ROM if you tried. HTC could certainly learn a thing or two from team Venom, makes a big global corp. look like a bunch of amateur devs who toss out the first thing that "works".
Oh it's one hell of a rom of course, & it has been, even back when Venom was called Team Pokemon. And I guess I have been a little spoiled with these Sense 4 rom updates

You can't get WiFi to function normally because you switched the kernel to faux. On the first page of the Rom the developer gives a warning to NOT switch kernels as it can lead to WiFi issues . If you want WiFi working again wipe and re flash the Rom but use the kernel that came with the Rom and you will have both WiFi AND hotspot tethering working as it should . Hope this helps! Best wishes.
