[Q] just wondering... - HTC Sensation

anybody tried to replace the touch-key LED´s themselves??
i mean, we saw the change from white to red but what about, i dunno, green??
/e: following THIS blog, apparantly it is even possible to remove and paint the speaker grill and the ring around the camera lens with not too much effort

Tremendously improving camera quality

Hi,
I have just popped out the camera lens cover on the back side of the phone. And truly i am amazed with how beautiful it takes pictures now.
untill it gets dust on it
the weird blue hue actualy comes from the distortion throught the plastic cover. thats why when you try to edit the photos in photoshop black becomes blue .
just my two cents.
carefull not to scratch the lens.
S.V.I
YUP!
Very true, you spent your two cents wisely, lol
Amazing isnt it?
jeje like the BLOWING THREAD!!!!! hahahaha
see it and laugh a lot!!!
thanks for the effort to all right there but my audio port is trydly broke i just need to put a little points of soldering mmm i didi it... easy to disassemblyfix and assembly... like a woman!
camera lens is quite deep under the body, i think it will hardly hurt itself.
Now it is like 2 megapixel camera of nokia, really !!!
i tried following this guy's instructions to improve my wizard's crappy camera shots..
and.. to my surprise, the lens cover was already gone..
weird.. so, it turns out that my cam was a lot crappier than it is now..
thanks.. now i'm assured..
I don't get it ytsejam_ . U didn't notice until now that your lens cover was missing? Or u removed it and it works better now
Is there anyway to insert some "clear" plastic or cover into it? I wouldn't like to have a hole at the back, but would definitely like to improve camera quality. Maybe some others phone cover will fit, so to just purchase cover for some other phone? Can this plastic be polished maybe?
All this just to avoid having a hole, as S.V.I said, dust will be a problem
I think you can stick a clear plastic underneath the body, that will avoid the dust.
i only realized my lens cover is missing when I checked it out.. it means that the plastic cover got lost without my knowledge..
I actually dropped my wizard and the cover popped off. Been taking pics like crazy after since the cover was scratched anyway. Wouldnt suggest it though
Another Save method would be to place another Thin Clear lens over the original lens, But closer to the actual lens (right on top) instead of the Plastic in the casing.
I'm not a Photo Guy but someone probably knows what type of material would be best to use to protect the lens this way.
how do we integrate this hack into a rom? that would solve the dust problem!
Nice to see yo again!!!!
We missed the spanish ROMS Mr Faria...
OOOOH MODERATOR 3 stars... ok ok it was a long time i saw it.

@ + Que PPC
thanks!
personaly 8 kinda wish I had the money to have a diamond lens cover cut for my wizard. then it would never get scratched.. and the clarity of the diamond would be the clarity of the pictures!.
(actualy, I am working for a jeweler, and just found out that you can have a crystal cut for about $20!)
Nice to see Faria back on the board.
I have been using his easy cooker for a while now.
anyway, back to the camera quality issue:
has anyone got a full registry of everything that the wizard camera is supposed to do?
reason I ask is that while I was taking the exe appart to change the reasourses, I noticed a lot of icons (bmp) that I never seen used. this must mean that the camera is capable of much more.
I am also considering trying out the latest camera and messing around with the package to get it to work. I think it is possible to reverse engineer the thing.
anyone know of software that can trully edit dlls and exe's? other than just the reasourse hacker?
do anyone know how to pop out the camera lens cover to clean it? after that i will be able to put on again? thank u
nice idea...
Ok you lensesless guys. Put your proof where your mouth is... I´m about to get this plactic lense out, so if any of you would care to show us the "real deal", placing a few max resolution pictures taken without the camera plastic lens... Please

[Q] something rattling inside my transformer!!!!

just been using google skymap and I've noticed there is something rattling inside my transformer!!!!!!
is the back removable? anyone spotted a way something could have got inside? or is it something broken inside?????
its not been dropped or anything ........ and I've only just started noticing the noise .....
you sure it isn't edge creak? if it really is ratteling return it.
not a creak. something moves inside the unit from one end to the other. only started tonight. thing is I have no light bleed no sharp edges ....... don't know if its just something got in through a gap somewhere or something snapped off inside
My opinion would be return it, sure it could be harmless but it's still a faulty product. It could also **** up your device later on or be a sign of more ominous things.
I know you are right .... but I bought it from comet and it took long enough to arrive so god knows how long a replacement will take
and sods law ill get light bleed or gaps or sharp edges next time
ill ring comet tomorrow

If you enable and disable the camera it makes a sound. Try activating camera ....is that the same noise you hear?

I know there are 2 openings right under the LCD itself cover. On the left hand side there is tow half inch hole under the LCD, if you take a piec of paper and insert it at the left hand edge and sort of drag it down...you'll know where the gaps are, but this is too small for anything to go through...maybe these are air vents.
its not the camera. I'm sat here web browsing and if I rotate landscape and portrait it hear something moving.
not sure I follow what you mean about the holes. wondering if something has got in through the keyboard dock points???
It's probably baby teeth. I hear they're good luck.

Or the hamster fell out of the wheel
Sounds like another asus QC story, i wonder what crazy stories will come next?
Good luck with getting it resolved.
Photo cameras have mechanical orientation sensors that are making a noise when going from landscape to portrait but they are very quiet and I doubt they are used in phones and tablets which have accelerometers.
this was something definitely moving about..... ie traveling the length and width of the unit.
its stopped now though so I haven't got a hope in hell of persuading comet that "my unit was rattling, honest! "
don't worry about persuading comet...just give them a call and they'll replace it...
I asked for a replacement yesterday..and I believe the support guy had no idea what a light bleed is, and he tole me parcelforce will come my home with a new TF on Monday..
damn.... after a week of no rattling its started again. I'm convinced its just a fragment of plastic or something and apart from that the unit is perfect .... no light bleed or dead pixels or dust ....
do I risk exchanging?
I wonder how easy it is to get the back off?

You might try a magnet and see if you can move the fragment within the case. Of course, it could use aluminum screws but metal will have more mass than plastic. If it tends to roll easily, I would suspect a metal fragment.

That's a good way to screw up other components inside your device. I wouldnt do that if I were you.
lol, no, i think i will avoid the magnets thanks
.... sent from my shiny new keyboard that arrived this afternoon by the way

anyone cut a hole in the s-cover for the LED

I think the S-Cover is an OK idea, not bad in theory, kinda annoying, but useful at the same time. I am debating on cutting a hole in the cover so I can see the LED! I mean, what the heck, why does all the covers , cover the LED? it makes the see thu part almost useless really..
anyone do it, anyone have an idea on the best way to?

May i recommend a hole punch?
Use a high quality one though, a very sharp bladed one which will cut it with ease.
Did a simular thing on my Belkin pouch for me S3:

Done exactly that on mine, it annoyed me that the led was covered so used a hole punch and marked up the spot. Works great!

Something inside the camera lens?

Well as the title says, after last Wednesday this artifact suddenly started showing up in my pictures..
I've been looking, but i can't see any scratches on the outside glass (plus it looks way to close for it to be on there)
An obvious example here:

Anyone know what this might be, so i can make a stronger point if i'm going back to HTC with this?
It looks like a fiber stuck in the lens cover

Lacking plastic cover of led in sony z3 = taking photo with flash problem

Hi guyz
I lack the plastic part in my sony z3, which covers flash diode. I don't know why it's not there. I was just replacing my colegue's LCD while I noticed it. Everything would be fine if only flash photos wasn't stained with light from flash diode.
I circled in the attachment this plastic part i miss in mine z3. Another photo is a photo made by this z3 with the light steins coming from flash diode(right side of the picture). I managed to reduce this steins by like 80% already by putting some thin tape between camera and led flash, but I'm not satisfied with it. I can put it more... true, but my question is if anybody know how to call this part and if i can buy it anywhere. Or someone can tell me the messurements so i can print it with my another friend's 3d printer. Or maybe someone can come with another solution ?
