[Q] htc inspire hot spot with root

so ive sucessfully rooted my phone found a rom that enables tethering
but what ive been noticing is my hotspot only says 3 g above it but my mobile network says h+
ive seen both say H+ when i was on a downgraded rom but it had no sound
im wondering why my rom says 3g there when network says h+ ive tried 3 diff roms now still havnt found one that fixes this or am i just stuck with 3g hotspot ?
i could be way offf here if someone could explain id appreciate it

H+ is really 3G so don't let that confuse you.

so its just the way the rom maker exploited the hotspot pretty much
im still getting same speed on my hotspot as my phone then

Yes exactly.

Try using the Speed Test app from the Market.

I just want to make sure, being that we are rooted (I`m using the LeeDroid ROM btw) if we use the stock Wifi Hotspot we should be fine right? Theres no need to download the google Wifi Tether for Root app correct?

You will be fine with the stock HTC hotspot

hi i just got an HTC Inspire and i was wondering which program did u use to root your phone and what did you do to make it a Hotspot??

CM9 A8 Tethering (WiFi or USB)

I had problem tethering my phone (cm9 a8) connection to Windows XP. had any other suggestion peeps? i tried cwm tether and others but fail..
(maybe i should post this to Q&A for CM9. :silly

This is a known issue in cm9 for i9003. Use third party software instead.

Try easy tether app from market

Bluetooth tethering works. But speed not great.
Tried WiFi tether but somehow not able to set up. Can anyone give instructions.

Add dummy wifi apn settings n then try again... But mostly the driver is broken.... Very weak signal

try using usb/wifi tethering third party softwaresfrom the play store .. cm9 has tethering issue .. expecting for it to get fixed with 3.x kernel ..

This issue has been adressed over & over again with the same solution. I know you mean well, but stop bumping old threads unless you have a new solution to offer.

[Q] Help - HTC One-X ATT CleanRom 5 Wifi Issue

Hi,
I just flashed cleanrom 5 on to my htc one-x. Love it, but one thing is driving me nuts. I have a 5ghz and two 2.4ghz wireless networks in my house. After flashing the device will only connect to the 5ghz network. It can see the 2.4ghz networks, but will not connect to either of them. All the other devices in my home have no issue connecting to either of them. I've checked the advanced Wifi settings and network is set to Auto, so it should work.
Please help or I will be forced to go back to version 4.5

having problem with htc onex wifi ,can't stay connected

hi can anyone help me please , my wifi keeps going down each time i connect it only stays a few seconds then drop it can't stay connected for long ,please help

A little more info wouldn't hurt...

If its ur home network, have u tried resetting ur wireless modem?

Yeah i reset the home network, but it keeps doing the same thing, am using viperxl 3.2.3 rom
htc one X at&t, elementalX4.3 beta kernel, viperXl 3.2.3

Try a diff kernel..WiFi modules ate stored in the kernel

Are there any other network wireless had gadgets(phones,laptop,etc) around sucking the signals. If there is, disconnect them. Or else, probably check ur modem wireless modem channel if everything else fails.

Hi,
I would suggest u chk ur wireless router setting (u need to go into or wireless setting menu - manual setup), try changing it to channel 11. This channel has the best wireless flexibility to connect to most wireless gadgets. It happened to me once, hope this help.

I have tab 2 7.0 with cyanogenmod nightly installed it cannot detect my home wifi network it can detect my neighbours wifi. but not mine wifi please help i was first on last month nightly but as soon as i change it it cannot see my home wifi network.PLEASE HELP :crying::crying:

Are you using WEP Encryption in router ? . I am asking because android doesn't support WEP networks by default. Change Wi-fi encryption to WPA2-PSK to make it work.

no buddy i have wpa2 i was using it till wednesday .it was fine i tried every thing including resting my tab formatting it.restore my router frimware:crying::crying::crying:

restore your backup and enjoy your tablet again. you're really not missing anything with your "newer nightly" Or change ROMs'. Try a different one. Try one of Andi's Unofficial CM builds. No issues anywhere with those.

I'm still stuck on wondering if your WiFi is visible forget one of your other devices and try reconnecting

yes it is visible but i could not connect to but now it is invisible for my tab bro can you give me some troubleshotting:crying::crying::crying::crying:

Reset your router to factory defaults
That is my only guess.
Or install another room and see if that fixes it.

tried both first factory reset my router still does not work .then flashed stock rom tried STILL THE SAME
