Is there any way to save bookmarks for locations on these apps?
I have not found anything on google maps and I wonder how well WindowsLive performs on the Pro and if it allows to do so...
Any ideas / opinions?
You can in google maps, you search for a location and then you can add it to your favorites list.
Can you tell me how... maybe I am blind... I cannot find any favorite list in the menu...
Using Cyanogen mod Rom, I used to be able to share my GPS location in the middle of the lake through Google Maps. I tried to do the same with the HOX but the sharing location option is grayed out. It looks like Waypoints are not integrated into Google maps. Anybody knows how to restore the functionality or if I need an app which app?
Thank you
Not sure exactly what you wanted.
If you want record your location/track history and share it through Google Maps, you can use Google's 'My Track' app.
If you want to share your current location to your friend, sign in to Google Latitude.
when you are in a remote place, Google maps need to use waypoints or coordinates to share your exact location. In the middle of the lake, I was able to click on my GPS location get the coordinates and share them through a text message. It was easy
My tracks or latitude is not what I am looking for.
That must be some kind of Labs add-in for the GMap which is no longer available.
The Laitude reports your coordinates as well periodically. If your friends have Gmaps, it can show your location based on your reported coordinates. But if they have to use anything else, of course it won't work.
Hello!
I'v already searched for that kind of apps, but didnt find any of that type.
Application that will transmit my location to a webpage, with my current location, speed (Instamapper), and with camera feature?
So I'm asking for an application that would also transmit camera so website visitors can see driving?
Thanks
I think Glympse has all that, except the camera thing. However, Ustream has the video streaming. So I guess you would open Glympse first, share to... I don't know. You might have to set this up before you drive, or have a partner set up the web page, share to email and email them. Then have Glympse track you for however long... then open Ustream, start streaming, email the link, set the phone up as a dash camera with whatever hardware mount you have... and go.
Hi guys, I want you to tell me what are the apps you recommend having on Android, I think I'm missing a lot of them thats why I create this thread.
Everything, from security to customization.
Twitter or WeChat
some Weather app
Netease Cloud Music
some Navigator app
S Health
amazon appstore or amazon underground
some bank app
......
unity
unity remote
Authy or some other authenticator app to enable 2 factor authentication. you NEED this on at least your email. This can save you thousands of dollars years from now, if someone gets access to your email (very easy though most older recovery options, name of your dog, your mothers maiden name, the street you grew up on, etc).
A mobile scanner app. I am liking officelens 90% of the time.
Pocketcasts for podcasts
Smart audiobook reader
Lastpass(my favorite) or any other password manager(1password, keepass, etc). You should never use the same password twice, same reason as item number 1
Save your local area in maps options, this will save you lots of data and speed up maps by a lot sometimes.
Hi.
I thought I would clean my app permissions a little bit leave apps only permissions that they really need. I have Gmail app on Android 6 (Galaxy S7 Edge) and now it asks me every few second to give it the following permissions:
calendar - why would it access this?
camera - does it want to take photos of me with out me knowing it and send these to google so that they could sell my data?
contacts - is it because google wants to send spamm to my friends who are in phone book?
Mic - does google want to record what I speaks so that they could find out what I talk about at home and possibly steal my startup ideas?
telephone - what useful can this app do with that?
body sensors - why would google want this? Do they sell even this data?
SMS - does google want to read the contents of my private SMSes so that they would know what I talk about? What useful could google do with it?
1) Does anybody know how these are useful for Gmail or is it just because google wants to steal everything it can steal?
2) Is there any trustworthy alternatives that do not harm my privacy so much?
3) Is there way to use some kinds of containers or something to protect my privacy? Like run apps like Gmail in it's own sandbox where it has all rights it wants but sandbox would emulate it empty phone book so that it would be able to steal stuff but wouldn't complain either?
Any ideas?
