Sign up for Google voice.

That was a nice feature in Windows 6.1 and 6.5 with Exchange 2010 and Outlook 2010. I have not seen Microsoft release this same app for Windows Phone 7.

I know on some carriers you can do it over email. I think with sprint its like (phonenumber)@sprintpcs.com or something along those lines.
I also know with Mango you can connect Messenger with Line Messenger and send and receive that way.
Or do you mean receiving a text message on your computer as if it was sent to your phone?

Gmail Inbox

This has probably already been asked but I couldn't find it. Why is it that when I send a message through gmail on my phone I get the message I sent in my inbox?

You are refering to view from PPC Outlook or PPC IE Browser or PC IE Browser?
If it happens on PPC Outlook, its a little strange for me. It does not happen on my WM5 PPC Phone.
If view from IE, it is the way the Gmail is organised by Google Software.

Send/receive appointments via text message (O2 XDA IIi)

I own an XDA IIi and it cannot send or receive appointments as text messages. I know that this is possible on the nokia phones. I'd love this feature on the xda as well. I think this is a windows mobile issue since my friend owns a XDA Mini S and it has the same problem

I know the nokia phones can send and receive appointments via text messages, so no reason why the xda cannot provide such capability. Although I wonder if it is a limitation in windows mobile. I love the xda and can't understand why they have left out such feature. The same is even true for contacts, you cannot send or receive contacts as text messages
Anyone got any suggestions please? I'm surprised no one has faced this issue before

Auto pushing of e-mail to SMS

Hi,
Anyone have come across some software that will forward e-mail to be a SMS to another user?
may be a PC with a WM5/6 phone connected 24/7...
when a e-mail reach the outlook of the PC, it will auto send out as a SMS to a number?
or a WM5/6 phone on 24 hour and connected to the internet, once it get a e-mail, it will forward out as a SMS?
Thank in adv.

I'm not sure about using outlook to do it, but with gmail, you can create filters to forward emails.
The only downfall is that it cuts off the message after the 160 character limit.

But my service provider didn't give me a e-mail address for me to forward to become an SMS.
Who is your provider? mine does something like [email protected] so, I would wonder if yours would do something similar.
Mine is Singtel from Singapore...

[REQ] PC messaging app

Hi
While my HD2 is away for repair i am stuck with a Nokia 2760 loan fone. Believe it or not the nokia has a feature I would LOVE to have on my HD2.
The nokia PC suite connects to the phone using Bluetooth and alerts you to new text messages etc. It then allows you to view the message and even reply.
Is there any program that can do this for the HD2?
Apologies if this has been asked before
Take a look here :
http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/outreach/dnloads/smsSender.mspx
though I think it's only for sending SMS outbound
I use the Jeyo Mobil Extender ! www.jeyo.com
So, I can see my SMS Messages in Outlook, get Notify in Outlook if a new SMS there and can send SMS Messages with outlook.
Thought I'd try that MS one but just found after installing that it doesn't work in vista. Bah!
try this

you could try panda pc suite , its quite useful for just about anything including showing incoming calls/ sms chat etc

SMS Sync via AS with Exchange 2010

I currently use a Windows Mobile 6.5 device, and I love the SMS integration with Active Sync in combination with Exchange 2010 (new SMS will appear in the inbox, and it ist possible to write SMS in Outlook with "new item" -> "text message" - this text messages will then be synched back via AS to the device, and the device sends it).
until yesterday I thought that Windows Mobile 6.5 is the only mobile OS witch supports this function (even Windows Phone 7 doesn't support SMS integration!), but: a colleague of me flashed a new ROM (Darky 10.2.2 -> Gingerbread 2.3.4) on his Galaxy S yesterday, and: SMS-AS integration in combination with Exchange 2010 is now working with his device!!! - the first time I've seen that with an other mobile OS than Windows Mobile 6.5!
the reason for the thread here: I'm very interested in the HTC Sensation, and I think about to get one, but: SMS integration with Active Sync is important for me, so is it working with the sensation? Is this a feature of Gingerbread, or does the Galaxy have a "special messaging client" with SMS support? Has anyone seen a Sensation with working AS-SMS integration? If yes: which ROM is needed, or which "hack" is needed?

tbh i do miss how my nokia popped up , new sms on laptop and could reply on it

as I can see in the manual this product doesn't use Microsoft Active Sync (AS) over the air! So that's not a solution for me! AS itself does support SMS-Syncing over the air, my question is which requirements on an Android phone are necessary for SMS Syncing, and if the Sensation has all the reqirements, or how it is possible to get SMS-Syncing with the Sensation working? As I mentioned: Samsungs Galaxy S in combination with Darkys ROM does the job!
some screenshot how SMS integration looks like...
... just to be sure that it is clear what I'm speaking about!
Touchdown for Excahnge does it... sort of
Touchdown for Exchange has a checkbox "Enable SMS Sync" in settings. I use Exchange 2010, and when I activated this setting on my phone, I receive an email from the Exchagne Server:
Congratulations! After connecting your mobile device to Exchange Server 2010, you can now send text messages from Outlook 2010 and Outlook Web App on your computer. You can also receive and reply to text messages.
To start sending text messages from your computer, close and reopen Outlook 2010 or Outlook Web App.
Now you've got one more way to communicate with friends, family, and colleagues. To find out more about using Text Messaging from your Inbox, click here.
Note: If you previously set up text message notifications in Outlook Web App, they've been turned off because the Exchange ActiveSync access you set up on your phone will keep you up to date.

Now I can SEND SMS from Outlook, but I have not been able to receive on my Desktop/Outlook. For that I use Desktop Notifier or Mighty Text.
You answered to a one year old thread .
Anyway, I have a question. Can you confirm that you could't activate SMS sync without Touchdown?
