You are likely missing a necessary library to make them work. Capture the logcat and it will likely be fairly clear where it's crashing (unless the APKs are obfuscated).

Ok i will give that a try thx

Anyone try the ICS Music app yet?

I got it to install after uninstalling the old then rebooting, but i get fc's when trying to play music. Anyone else have better luck than me? Im on prime 2.02 btw. Oh and to get it to sync you have to clear data once or twice until it asks you to sync your gmail acct.
Doesn't work... Apparently its honeycomb in general, I checked the Xoom and Galaxy Tab forums and they're having the same FC problems as we are.

I did, it's pretty nice...the layout of the playlist (if you have less that 5) is kind of weird...It looks a lot like the old one, but smaller icons and text...
latest Prime if that helps anybody...
i have the same problem, fc when trying to play music.....now the question : has someone get the original HC music apk to revert to the first one ? Just to avoid revert to nandroid or reinstall rom...thanks
Here it is. Pulled this out of Revolution rom. I think you will have to uninstall the ICS app and then reinstall the stock app with Titanium Backup in order for it to work.
Work around for the FC's, just hit shuffle all and profit
Wouldn't exactly call that a workaround... yes, you can shuffle, but anything else is still causing forced closes.

thanks a lot Getlaid, but i didn't manage to install it using titanium back up......(i'm using the free version), and a normal installation abort.....
Try deleting /system/app/Music2.apk with a root capable file explorer like ES File Explorer or Root Explorer, reboot, and then replace with the stock Music2.apk
Thanks! I think the power is in the reboot! Worked nicely afterwards.

I got it to install, but I don't see the login option in settings for music beta. (
Edit: fixed by clearing data, force stop, then launch.

Miui music player problems

Hi,
I'm just trying to update my miui music player with the new ICS theme.. although it would seem that developers are releasing them as stand alone .apk's rather than a theme - this is fine if you don't have miui rom with the miui player installed as a system app.
But if you run a miui rom and have it installed as a system app the new ics miui music .apk wont install as it can't remove the original system app...
I've tried removing the original miui music system app with titanium backup and it boots into recovery, but signature verification fails when I disable this verification I have to boot back up to tell titanium to remove the system apk then it goes back to recovery and signature verification is reenabled by default - so stuck in a catch 22.
My whole phone is ics theme apart from the miui music.. can anyone advise what I can do to install the miui music ics themed apk?
Thanks guys.

delete original one(first of all, back up it somewhere) and push apk manually to system/app

[Solved]CM 7 music player gone.

I found a CM 9 music player somewhere in the internet and tried pushing it into /system/app after having renamed it to Music.apk and removing the original Music.apk which was already present. Sadly, the CM 9 player did not work so I tried reverting back(I copied the CM7 music player back to /system/app). Now I am not able to find the Music player in the app drawer. I have set proper permission and changed the file ownership as well.
Please help.
I am on stock CM 7 A7 de-odexed. I have also wiped dalvik cache but no good.

Flashing CM7 again is no option for you? I know its a bit drastic...

It should be working, don't know where you got it wrong...factory reset...
first try wiping dalvik cache....then if doesnt work then wipe cache....and then if doesnt work wipe data....and even then if it doesnt work the n flash cm7 again.
or just push music.apk with qtadb, eh?...easiest way..

Factory reset won't do any good or bring the app back coz it was deleted permanently from the system ...I suggest u do a backup n reflash the rom then restore whatever u want from us backup
I reflashed the same file that I used to deodex cm 7. That did the trick, but few of the applications that had been moved to /system/app were deleted. Well that is better that re flashing.
Just need to fix permissions in cwm. Sometimes it magically appears for some unknown reason though I have alrdy set permissions with root explorer
Cheers

[Q] (Q) Restore deleted Sense Music App

Hello All,
yesterday i installed Android Revolution HD 6.5.2 on my Sensation.
Overall, it was going well, except for the music player that was always force closed everytime i tried to play music.
My bad, i accidentally uninstalled the Music App from my phone. I tried to restore that, but i can't figure out how to do it.
Then i tried re-Flashing the ROM. Before reFlashing, i backed up all data on my phone using ClockworkMod. After i flashed the ROM, the music app returned. After that, i restored my phone using backup file i created in CWM before.
After Restoration complete, i cant find the music app just like when i deleted it.
I guess CWM backed up all the data and my phone's state including all the Apps and Sense UI.
Anyone can help me restore my music app?
thanks
A Clockwork mod backup totally backs up a rom, bit for bit. If you restore a CWM backup, you will lose any currently installed rom setup. Just take the Sense Music apk out of a rom.zip and drop it in /system/app using Root Explorer. Then reboot and you're probably set. Make sure you set the app's permissions to RW R R or it won't work (all doable in Root Explorer).
i have pulled two files from Rom.Zip :
com.htc.musicwidget.apk
htcmusicenhancer.apk
and put them in /system/app folder.
I Also set the permission too and then restarted my phone.
But i still cant find music app, did i miss another file?

[Q] JellyBam's touchwiz launcher?

Tried JellyBam for a while, and really liked its touchwiz launcher. I want to install it in another ROM I'm using (CM10 nightly) but can't seem to make it work. I managed to pull the apk and data from jellybean via titanium backup, but can't find a way to put it into CM10 properly. Tried restoring from TB, manually put it in system/app and set permissions + reboot, and installing it as a normal apk. No method worked, it always force closes, even after "fix permission" from CWM recovery. So can anyone recommend a way to make it work?
I attached the file here, supposing it's not warez.
try this

Works great, thanks
Is the one in this zip the same one I attached in the first post? If not, can I replace my version in and still have it work?
