so my bro got his new htc Amaze today and the camera app on his phone has more features. Also updated version too. The picture quality is slightly better than the mytouch 4g slide. I wonder if we can get a ported version on our phones. they have the rom up for download in their thread.
Might be a chance to use it since the Amaze is shipping with Sense 3.0

You need to pull a deodexed htccamera.apk and 4 libs. liboemcamera.so, libcameragingerbread.so libcamera.so and one more camera lib i cant think of. Give me those and i can Try to port it. Its Very important you extracto the camera app from a deodexed versión.

I, for one, would be interested in a AOSP rom for our Inspires. There are somethings in CM7 that I could careless for, although I found ways around them. ex: Removing ADW launcher and replacing with stock GB launcher.

Exactly I love getting into new things, and AOSP was next on my list. Unfortunately, high school and a tattooing apprenticeship take up a lot of my time, so the kernel went unsupported for a bit. It's going on the backburner, but it'll be re-cooked after I finish porting AOSP. I'm shooting for a fully working MIUI kernel too now that we have gingerbread 1.3.18, but AOSP takes precedence. plus cattleprod should probably be able to beat me to it. so I should be able to get started tomorrow night, or Monday morning at latest.

they both about the same really, nice job to both dev who put their effort in, venom rom is without sense in it he sub with launcher pro ex i think.... and the other rom still has the sense stuff, but u can put launcher pro ex on it from market, so its really up to u my friend

That depends on what you want. CK23's venom ROM removes Sense and gives you a more bare-bones Android experience while undead's edited ROM is more of a stock Sense feel with bloat removed. Both show noticeable improvement over stock. What I'd REALLY love is a stock Sense 3.0 - not the doubleshot version - like from the sensation, with the customizable lockscreen and other goodies. I think with time everything will become available. I was just in the Sensation forums doing some poking around and they've got a lot of options now that their phone has been out for several months!

You'll be fine, I average flashing about a dozen CWM recoveries a day, some days more. It's the only way to get a cold start on the GPS for sure in the same location over and over again while keeping the phone as close to stock as possible. That doesn't count straight up factory resets, either. Trying to make my gps research work for as many people as possible, not just those of us who rooted.

Hey guys, I'm getting this phone via CL. The one I'm looking at guy says its preloaded with 2.3.3 via factory.
Question is if that's even possible since I know OTA for GB on this phone has never happened?
Also, to root it would I just Odin to GB bootloaders or Honks kernel?

It wont be preloaded with GB via factory
You will need to flash a leaked GB like kg4 so you can have the GB bootloaders then flash drhonks kernel and your set

Yes you'd be able to root it with honk's kernel. You can also follow my gb starter pack guide to get good bootloaders etc.

a few months ago(like april) you would regret having this phone over the mt4g but i can reassure you that myself and the few devs in this community have made this phone smoother then ever enjoy good battery life, no lag, amazing screen display and a nice 1.7 OC if you desire

Ive had people tell me that if you use my adrenaline shot that cm is actually just another ROM and nothing special since the tweaks greatly improve the phone ill find the quotes for you

to be honest, we thought we were going to get cm7 first because krylon and drhonk were working on it
the kernel was giving them A LOT of problems and slowed down development, im pretty sure they are still working on it however i havent seen any updates on their work in awhile
if not maybe some of us devs could start the cm project as well
Coming from the mt4g, I understand where you're coming from. You won't be disappointed, raver, dsexton, krylon, whitehawx, drhonk, and atoore, and anyone else I may have missed, are all very talented devs and make the phone worth the switch. So weather it be team acid, or team whiskey, you'll be happy.

Im dev in the doubleshot and sidekick 4G. I am wanted to port over my Crack Injected Sense to the mytouch 4G from the doubleshot. I know evil d already has a doubleshot rom available, I dont want to waste my time porting this. And before you ask, it has alot of added features such as built in tweaks, numerous performance enhancements,.the whole nine yards. My bud is currently running it on his mytouch4g. (Yes I got it to finally boot) but I dont want to waste my time posting this if there is no demand. I orginally ported this for my bud only but he seems to this it would be a big hit. So my question is do you guys (the users) want another doubleshot rom? If not I will remain in my current development area im only trying to gauge the level of use. And if you want to check out my work head over to the dev section of the doubleshot, you can see for your self im highly respected.
Long story short......
Do you guys want me to port this, or I should say make it public? Its a ready rom.

I would love to see an HTC Sense ROM ported to the Infuse! Sadly I don't think I would be of much help on the developing side, I wouldn't mind being a tester if you ever happen to need one though.

IIRC, it will be running 2.3.6/2.3.7. I do believe that it uses CM7 as a base, so expect those issues as well as other

It's harder then you think....
First you got to find an HTC device with a similar (preferably same) chipset...which is rare since most htcs run qualacom hardware
A while back I did find a device with pretty much the same chipset that should be useable...gotta see if I still have its ruu (ruu is HTC official Rom release...actually stands for Rom update utility)
You then gotta extract the ruu contents (requires both windows and linux...)
Then you need to build the infuse kernel from source changing the bootclasspath in the init.rc and other stuff relating to sense instead of touchwiz
I'm not saying its impossible...and its still something I would like to do...but unfortuantly I just don't have the time to really do anything anymore due to school and work...and I recently got into league haha...so when I'm not working or at school I'm either with friends or playing league...but usually I'm at work or school. Oh yeah my infuse also got stolen...so no device to work with anymore (damn car fishers)
That's the basics...theres a few tutorials on how to port sense to no sense devices that can help you...just google how to port sense
Anyways, good luck...thus reply was mainly.to let you know what your in for and what kind of computer setup your gonna need (dual booting linux/windows)
Edit oh yeah...pretty sure the device I had found had an ics 4.0.4 stock Rom...at least for Iraq users...but English should still be an option in that Rom and if its not we can always add it in...anyways ill let you know later if I can find the ruu/device for you to work with

Not to be mean, but I've got the hard part covered. There's a sense port for the captivate that rums on top of cm. I'm not saying that its going to be super simple, its also not going to be as hard as you described.

I'm talking about taking an official HTC sense release, extracting the contents for a flashable zip and porting that
Regardless either way requires kernel work as the init.rc needs to be edited -which is an easy task for those who can work with source
Anyways, goodluck the more options the better...there will definitely be people wanting this as its unique for the infuse
