Mike1 - Awesome ROM..Thank you.
2 Questions: Why does ROM toogle between 3G/H signal? Stock ROM connect to 4G(H).
Some download from MARKET would come up insufficient memory and fail to down load. Is there a fix? I reboot but still does not resolve.

Might want to flash a different rom. The dev for that one is jumping to a different phone. As you can see the latest version of serendipity is way over a month old. You will get better support from a dev/rom that is still fully supported.

Depending on the area your in, stock or custom, the phone will always toggle between the two. The stock rom just doesn't show it doing so. If you aren't in an area that has 4G, obviously your phone will take advantage of whatever is available.

I agree, but with GB so close, I'm sure we will get a boost in development with new roms to choose from..I wouldn't worry about an outdated rom, for now, S7 is great even if outdated. I mean its not like an Hdmi fix is gonna come till GB anyway lol

You're not really likely to see anything other than Hellraised I9000/Captivate ROMs until after AT&T Gingerbread drops.
So what if it hasn't been updated since initial release? It was created by Hellraising a highly refined and mature Captivate ROM. There's nowhere it really can go until we get official AT&T Gingerbread. At that point you'll likely be able to get nearly all of the benefits by flashing over another Hellraiser update.
I was originally going to try and do kernel development over UCKJ1 in order to backport some stuff to the Infuse Daily Driver series I've added to the GSII version, but it's looking like I may just return to S7 for that work. So when DD development resumes, S7 will likely be the ROM it's tested against until official AT&T GB hits.
I have run S7 off and on while trying to teach myself about ROM creation/modding, and S7 has always jumped back and forth for me in areas where I am right on the edge of good HSPA+ signal. It's fairly normal and if it's annoying you can always set your your phone to restrict to one network or the other.....but I wouldn't recommend it. I'd just be careful how much data you auto-sync if it switches a LOT as bad signal areas + background data can mean extra battery drain.

I guess since no one technically answered your questions I will.
1. Because S7 is true to what you are connected to, whether umts (3g) or hspa+ (H) and that fluctuates normally where ever you are. Stock ROM always said either H+ (at&t) or 4G (rogers) regardless of whether you were connected to "4G" or 3G.
2. It is a known bug with the new market and has nothing to do with the ROM.
S7 is in no way outdated ....it may be over a month old but that's because it works so damn good...plus Mikey has said he will do one final update when official gingerbread cones out.
Anything you would consider more up to date is using leak stuff from ucki3 or 4....which kinda sucks anyway...

About the only improvement I can think of right now for S7 would be integrating the camera library fixes into the download.
That's it... That and the TCP buffer fixes in the initramfs (which you can get just by flashing a newer kernel) are the only good things that came out of UCKI3/I4.

Quick question guys. I have the rogers infuse 4g unlocked and on another carrier that is 4g but never get 4g showing..it's always on 3g. I'm in a 4g zone so I don't know whats up. apn related? or is it because I'm unlocked and with another carrier?
Thanks for the help in advance
Not sure if its me or the ROM
I recently rooted and installed serendipity. Which I love and works great. Its been like a week...love it.
BUT i don't really normally make or receive alot of calls. I did read the part about your first call not having sound, tried the speaker toggle, all is well. While Im making calls. But I cant receive calls. lol
It makes a crazy sound then says "NO SERVICE" for several minutes. But everything else works great!
Now im not actually using AT&T im using H2O
Any help is appreciated

erm old news
If its old news why are there still so many posts about people waiting for a rom with working 4G?
There's post about people waiting on 4g?
I've posted a few times in the Toast threads saying my 4G doesn't work after rooting and if there are any fixes. I haven't heard anything...if I could get some advice on what I should be looking at doing, that would be great. I've done Toast's Steps 1 and 2 and updated the radio.
Thanks
This is news to me...and yes, there is a thread trying to get 4G working..I still don't have 4G...this is the only thing I haven't tried, although I don't think it'll get it working..but I'll try...
I think more clarification is warranted.
What ROM are you speaking of specifically that 4G is not working? Outside of the Froyo ROM's where a few things are known to not be working at this moment and 4G is one of them.
The 2.1 ROM's having functioning 4G and Wifi Sharing for the most part. Some OTA updates caused 4G to continually scan for signal but it doesn't mean it was not working. It was corrected on some phones by following some instructions posted on the boards for a little while now.
4G works for sure on DamageControl and Fresh 5.3 with the current Radio and WiMax radio installs.
Been using DamageControl for a week and Fresh for a day so far. No problems.
4G DC and Fresh Verified in PDX.
Waiting for a working ROM with 4G? I have used Fresh 0.5.3 and Damage Control 3.2.3 with perfectly working 4G signal. No drops or failure to connect, along with 3-5 MB's of speed.
I thought this was in reference to a fix for broken 4G.
4G is still not working on all these custom roms OMG...OMG....
BTW... I found the search button. I guess I was wrong.
Admin. Move to q and a
wtb 4g froyo rom nom!
That rom is referencing a problem with 4G that happened around Evo's release. It has nothing to do with the latest OTA update's issues or Froyo's issues.
I'm not sure of the exact ROM I have, if you tell me how to check I can. But basically, I ran through Toast's steps (both 1 and 2) to gain full root and installed the new radio. No upgraded ROM's or anything.
I can connect to 4G (at least it looks like it to me) but when I have it on, I can't use any data transfer stuff like email/internet.
I'll probably just upgrade to the Fresh ROM since it sounds like that is the one everyone likes, but as of now, no 4G.

You might need to flash back completely to stock so you can get the update. If Not, im sure someone will have it to flash before it even gets totally released. You know how these leaks go.
i am wondering as kies does not work with infuse how can one manually update?
for ex. htc provided ota as well as through htc sync(manual update)

not everybody is getting good speed with rogers based gingerbread.
One can expect good speed on gingerbread with ATT based firmware.
When i had the inspire and then the atrix, the highest i would get was 4 down and 1 up. I read that the infuse was set to run at a higher max speed and as soon as my wife swapped with me, i tested the theory and apparently it was true. I hope gingerbread gives more anyway though.
skype
correct me if I'm wrong, but the front camera will work in skype with the 2.3 upgrade?
So speed, better battery life - what are some other pluses to the upgrade can we look for (infuse-wise)?

Then you will likely not see any data speed improvements when AT&T Gingerbread comes out. You also have working HDMI.
The issue is that all of our current Gingerbread ROMs are based on Rogers firmware - they don't achieve HSPA+ speeds and are missing HDMI.

I've read through the threads on all the forums, and nothing definitive yet. Also things are changing so fast over the last few days, I figured this needed asking.
I'm hearing people say that some of the zip cooked ROMs can be installed on the 727R but only if you have the leak installed first with ODIN.
When I go through the leaked ROM thread, it says it doesn't work on Roger's Skyrockets.
So is there any way to take a stock, or non-stock GB ROM and get either the leaked ROM or a cooked ROM onto a 727R?
Thanks
This works on Rogers. I flashed this from stock rooted Rogers GB.

+1 today it's been unstable for me a lot and the battery leak is still happening
I think there may be slight differences between the Skyrocket & Rogers version, that only Samsung know about.
One only has to look at the Samsung Focus 1.3 & 1.4 revisions. Both are identical except for a minor difference, but it caused major headaches for MS when pushing updates. It wouldn't surprise me if Samsung does the same on the Android side.
So with this leak your running an unfinished ROM, & one that may not be intended for your revision of hardware
i think that could very well be true. because of this battery drain 2-3% every less than half hour is like does this rom really feel it should be like this. also reboot issues, rom hanging in here & there, its not about the "work-around" but actual work seems very unstable. their devs are even soo stupid that when i ripped dialer.apk they spelled dailer in 1 of the imgs rather then dialer..it made me laugh soo hard..

Thank you everyone for responding. Gonna wait a few days and see how this plays out for Rogers uses. Hope other Rogers users post results here.
If you are on Rogers, flash the thing from the second post then flash any of the other ICS ROMs.

My ROM was running Malice from T989, with Streamline Kernel.
1)Backup!
2)Factory Reset
3)Advanced - Wipe Dalvik
4)Manual reset: - Mounts and storage, Format system, data & cache
5)Flash UCLA4 ICS radio
6)Flash the ICSMOD5_wipe version
7)Boot
8)Wait...wait even more...don't panic...
9)Enjoy
Everything including data and gps, and time issues were okay.
On the apex launcher, the messenger icon is bonked, just remove the shortcut and put the messaging shortcut again.
Wifi Tether: Starts up via toggle mod, can set password and stuff, computer connects to it but no data goes thru.
Will report back on battery use and possible issues.
So far so good.

Go with the second ICS leak UCLD2 which has a much improved radio.
I am not getting great speeds on the UCLD2 but seems to be getting better as it settles over a few days.
It has been slowing my Wi-Fi as well but shouldn't as the kernal is what handles it. Im scratching my head about it as well but I am investigating it!
I have been stuck on oil rig in BFE and only have edge service, but the reception seems to be better for the phone side of it since flashing UCL2.
I don't know if it has anything to do with ULC2 or not but my GPS signal seems to take a lot longer to lock on?
Some radios work better in certain areas than others. When I had the Captivate there were so many radios available (with varying results based on location) that someone started a map for people to report the best working radios in their area: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1227717
I'm finding UCLD2 isn't working so hot for me where I live (harder to get a good signal than UCLC4) but I'm willing to deal with it until a new one comes out.

You already have latest GB radio UCLA3.
I like the ucle2 radio on all roms. My favorite combo is nexus mod gb 4.3 with that radio and the faux kernel.
But everyone has different results in different geographic locations, it seems. Ucla3 is known to be a very good radio in most areas.

Yeah.. I wouldn't count on it coming out anytime soon... AT&T being AT&T and all. That bloatware doesn't install itself.
That being said, I travel around the midwest a fair bit and have found UCLE2 to work quite well.
I would stick with UCLA3. It has awesome battery life. There are plenty of awesome roms built around this too. I liked Stock Mod 2. With the faux kernel of course.
Might as well try a ROM, it was the radio change that made my Kies say "this device is not supported" . After I flashed the original ROM and kernel, it wasn't until I flashed the radios back, then it said" this is the latest firmware"

If you're already rooted and flashing kernels why not just flash a rom? I highly doubt the ics update gonna come by the end of the month but even if it does you'll probably end up trying a few different iterations of it from the different devs here...
