And also, I was wondering if there was a way of getting the newest MIUI version without re-flashing, wiping and factory reset and that stuff, I really don't feel like starting off new again. So again what are your suggestions for kernels, I kinda like the idea of over clocking, but it isn't a necessity.
I am using the latest franco kernel on ideos x5 , i´m having some ocasional reebots . But he already said he would fix it , for what i know its a good kernel to use.
Franco's hands down.If you have any probs raise the voltages.

Where do I get this kernel, and I assume it can be used with MIUI 1.9.30? Also I forgot to mention I have a Samsung Infuse 4g, can I still get franco's kernel?

Hello XDA
I am loving this new build for MIUI I am running the new 108050 and I was wondering what kind of Kernal I can run with this rom or if you can help me figure out my problems.
In the OP jface states that one of the bugs that needs to be fixed is get the kernal support up to date because it would support anything up until nightly 85
I have downloaded fauxs kernals from 3.3 onward and everytime I load the kernals I get no sound and things start to get buggy?
Does the new Rom have this kernal issue fixed or do I just have a special phone
Same here

Likely that it doesn't play nice with these kernels
Miui doesn't play nice with the CM7 Kernels. It has bugs, even wit hthe new version(I had two battery pulls yesterday and some apps don't run). I tred Faux's kernel and wasn't able to hear calls....so I stuck to stock. It almost works, and with it being so pretty, that's enough for me.
I had read somewhere that morfic's trinity kernals play are compatible with MIUI...but that the camera can get a little wonky at times- and i have experienced this with the 1.7.29 version where the colors get messed up- but has anyone tried the trinity kernal on the 1.8.5 yet?
Thank you for your response I really do love MIUI I just wanted to undervolt
hey I'm rooted on revolver 3.9.3,but when I go to download a kernel or a theme on the app it only downloads 576kb of it. any suggestions?

btw cuz i just rooted the other day wat is the best kernal tht i should use
gnufabo suggests stock but i think blades 2 is the best
With the latest firmware update, all custom kernels have become unstable, including blades. People have reported their TF locking up with custom kernels. The only custom kernel that isn't unstable is clemsyn v21. Unfortunately, there's a battery drain of the dock with this kernel.
For now, until the kernel devs figure out what the hell is going on, the best thing for yout to do is use the stock kernel.
I havent had issue one with Roach's overclock kernel set at 1.4

This is certainly good news. What's happening is that different people are reporting different results.

I think blades 2 is OK haven't had problems but I'm just gonna go back to stock ;-)
Using Prime v2.0.6 kernel since Monday and it is stellar. No problems whatsoever. 3300 on Quadrant too!
I've actually been just fine with the Blades 2 kernel... No issues whatsoever - not even any excessive battery drain. OC'd to 1540.
can someone help me out, i have 3 nexus s 4gs each on different roms but some of the same problems.
first, my phone (nscollab+franco kernel) and my wife's phone (Matr1x rom + kernel) will sometime shut down, and the power button wont work, i have to pull the battery to get it to work again
second, this is rare but every now and again the phones reboot and play the boot animation in inverted colors not sure why.
but is there something im missing, new radio, spl? or are my settings for the kernels not right, any help would be appreciated.
Does this happen on Matr1x v11.5?

Hey mathkid. No I tried to dl that version but flashing was failing, has the link been fixed? I would like to get new version on my phone as well, also could you recommended settings for nstool for me, like voltages, CPU government, ext.
Oh man I just looked and you closed the rom thread so you mean the kernel and no I'm running franco and my wife has the old matr1x rom so. what do you suggest I flash
Try Matr1x v11.5 cfs and start off w/ 1000/100 ondemand w/ no deep idle
if that runs well we can adjust further
K will try, I'll report back
Hi guys,
I've been trying out several kernels for my sensation.
I'm running Insertcoin 3.4.5.
The problem i'm having is: On faux kernel 0.2.7 i'm having freezes during heavy browsing(stock browser) not all the time, not reproducable.
I end up pulling the battery.
I've going trough this forum(and the internet) but i didn't find simulair cases.
Before I installed the kernel I did wipe cache, dalvik and did run kernel reset, as found in the threat.
Could this have something to do with zram? perhaps incombination with insertcoin?
Is zram enabled in 0.2.6? I believe it's not but please correct me if i'm wrong....
I realy hope you guys can help me with this because i really like faux kernel...
Many thanks!
You might have to wait for a new version. I think faux has a 0.2.8 version out so that might help.

Hi,
Faux 028 is HERE
This is a final,so it's good to go.
Check HERE for the full story.
Thanks for the info!
I've tried this one already, but it just doesn't seem to run smooth....
Could that be because im on insertcoin? V0.2.6 seems way faster.... Thats what im using now.
Could anyone tell me the difference between these 2? For as far as i could find out of the changelog, the difference is that zram is not inclueded in v 0.2.6....
Please correct me if im wrong!
I will continue using v0.2.6 as long as it runs my phone as it does now(extremely fast).
However iam currious why v0.2.7 and up don't work so well on my phone....
Any ideas?
Many thanks!

Hi,
The best one is the one that works well for you.
Faux has had huge problems with zram recently.
So,if it ain't broke,don't fix it!
Hello guys,
I'm new to Nexus 5 as well.
I have been using Chroma for few months now/
http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/development/rom-chroma-03-31-2015-layers-t3069105
The version I installed on mine is: 8-10-2015 built.
I have been following the post lately,
many people said, 'franco.Kernel' is a good Kernel.
how do I check if I already have franco kernel installed?
I went to About page, it says: 3.4.0-gbebb36b [email protected]#1
also,
if I want to go with franco kernel, what advantages will i get?
do i just need to download this app thru google play to install the franco kernel?

That is stock kernel. Recommend using blu_spark (aka code_blue) over franco.kernel. I won't say FK is abandoned, and it is a good kernel, but it's just not updated for the N5 much anymore. Same thing happened to the N7 2013. When the devs move on, you should also.
What do you get with a custom kernel? They say battery, performance, etc. Most of it is negligible at best. You'll need to read the kernel OPs.
hello,
thank you for your reply.
which kernal are you using for your nexus 5 right now?

I use elementalx. It is pretty much stock, but you can mod things. The dev's app is great, too.

Chroma used Franco as the built-in kernel in the past but zephik keeps Google's kernel for a few months.

Better battery life? Negligible.
New features like color control, governors (highest impact on battery life), S2W, DT2W, USB fast charge... It varies for each kernel.

I suggest you to read (again & again) the kernel threads on XDA before flashing anything. Franco is a well known kernel but we have other awesome kernels.
so my nexus 5 is stuck on the bootloop or the chroma logo...
I flashed:
1) chroma_hammerhead-ota-2015-10-05.zip
2) tk_gapps-modular-nano-5.1.1-20150927-signed.zip
then the nexus 5 was able to boot fine, and I saw the phone already has SuperSU came with the Chroma ROM
3) I went ahead download the BusyBox, and installed
4) reboot to recovery , and flashed blu_spark_r30-6.0_hammerhead_40fbe53.zip
my phone is not stuck on the ChromaLogo .....
I have also tried,, on the step 3, I flashed without installing Busybox.. It's a no go either..
any help would be appreciated..
Thanks

Here is your mistake: blu_spark_r30-6.0_hammerhead_40fbe53.zip
This kernel version is for Marshmallow.
