I was really disappointed with all Android PDF readers & unwilling to sell my iPod touch just for apps like GoodReader! A couple of weeks ago I found this great app called "ezPDF Reader" by accident in market & gave it a try & it's just impressive!
Unlike Repligo, QuickOffice, DocumentsToGo &.... it renders everything really fast, renders huge PDF files without any problems & here's the list of some of it's features:
It's super fast & reliable, not a single FC on documents larger tha 40 MBs!
Renders pages & pictures in a blink! It really shames Adobe Reader & similar apps...
Supports auto zooming feature for all columns & pictures.
Supports Night Mode & text reflow the way it should!
Shows thumbnails of all pages while reading in a very pleasant way!
Gets updated at least once a week! (Have had it for about 2 months)
Developers will actually implement your request, just tweet them or email them & in next version it's there!
You can add bookmarks to your documents.
Fully supports password-protected files.
Supports Wake-Lock.
Supports multi-touch up to 3 fingers.
Plays the multimedia content in PDFs.
Comes with free PDF printer for PC!
Supports Copy/Paste!
Supports pinch to zoom, horizontal lock, remembers your zoom level & position when you navigate.
Great animations!
It's just 0.99$!!!!!
& much more...
I really think developers deserve being supported, it's 5-star-rated in Market but it's been stuck in 1000-5000 downloads range for a very long time! Just give it a try, you'll love it! I just don't want developers abandon it coz there's nothing like it in Android Market! I don't know why it hasn't got enough attention though!
Appbrain Link
If you have already tried it, you can post your idea about it here!
They just released another update today which improves the rendering speed much more! I just hope they release a trial version or something to get more attention! Nobody has used the app here?
I have this on a Nook Color and I can't seem to get the menu to redisplay once the overlay controls minimize. How do you do it?
It really is the BEST PDF reader on Android!

C'mon why can you advertise an app, while we developers aren't allowed to advertise our apps here on xda-dev.
I think (it may be) that some developers use very sneaky ways to advertise their products here on xda.
I think this thread should be closed!
It is the best one among those pdf reader I have used.
If you search the threads started by me, you realize I was desperately looking for a PDF reader with ezPDF features couple of months ago!
Android Market PDF readers are nothing good compared to this & they all carry price tags like 10$!!!
There's no benefit behind this topic for me, just want to make the project popular so it continues the way it is going now! It's been always updated at least twice a week... If you haven't tried it yet, use the 24 hours refund policy to check it, however I don't think you will ever ask for refund!

I'm on Galaxy S which Menu button triggers it but I'm sure you can tap the center of screen to get the overlay controls!
Does this annotate pdf? I'm trying to figure out why apple has 10,001 apps that markup pdf and Droid has none (that I found)

I just stumbled upon this app today. I was looking for a reasonably priced reader that had bookmarks so I can resume reading of large docs. This fits it to a "T". All the others I looked at were in the $7-10 price range. The UI is taking some getting used to, I would like to see a help or manual as there are almost too many options.

I still consider it as spam. Simple as that. You don't give a review. You just sum up the things it can do, you give a price and that's it.
And now you are talking about a 24 hours refund policy? Man... this is just spam.
I don't know what to tell you buddy! Whatever you wish to call it, I listed the features I think no other Droid PDF reader has, I can't figure out your problem!! Developers are Korean, I am by the way Iranian/Persian so ...!
It doesn't need a detailed review since there's no competition in PDF readers field on Android Market...! I think it is 5/5 rated!
As for manual, I found it a bit confusing too! Actually developers have an odd way of describing the features & how-to-dos! Read their tweets from following URL, somehow it works as their manual!!!
twitter.com/ezpdf
I have this app also, it really is the best. I was ready to buy BeamReader then I found ezPdf

Don't you get it? We are also developers but we respect the forum rules and try not to sell our apps here in such a explicit way.
But just go on with your pushy, disrespectful monologue.

Hmmmmm.....How so?
ADW was developed & advertised hereon XDA. Dialer one was advertised here on XDA. Mort player was both advertised during it's Winmo days & now in Android too.
If a mod closed your thread, talk to another mod about it.
Spamming your app however is different.
Oh btw, he isn't pushy. You are pushy with you personal vendetta. If you have a problem with this thread, report it man. Easy as that.

This is not a personal vendetta. I encourage all developers to promote their apps. I have no problem with that. The problem is that I think it's rather inappropriate to promote apps in a forum where developers are discouraged to promote their own paid apps. Isn't really motivating. Don't you see that?
And I didn't have had any problems with any moderator. So no, that isn't my motive also.
And of course I have contacted xda developers, but with a constructive request if it is possible to look for a way how developers can promote their own apps without undermining the philosophy of xda developers.
Btw ADW, dialer one and mort are free programs/apps as far as I know.
appelflap,
Before you complain about commercialization and self-promotion why not remove the "Donate To Me" link that shows up on all of your posts?
I do not see a violation of the forum rules here.
Thanks to the OP for pointing out a viable alternative PDF viewer.

SugarSync is a single software and service solution that allows you to backup, store, sync (short for synchronize), access, and share all your digital assets (files, photos, music, others.) SugarSync was created with the goal of making it trivial for you to manage all your digital life and to satisfy a wide variety of use cases. The backbone of SugarSync is a real time push synchronization infrastructure that enables all these capabilities. As the end user you just need to worry about setting up you account properly and then enjoying the experience.
You can register HERE, and get additional 500 Mb of free space.
Note: You have to register prior to installing the mobile version.
No linux support. Dropbox has support for windows, mac, linux

Sugarsync has 5Gb + 500Mb, Dropbox - 2Gb.
Will try this out. If it has better features than Dropbox, ill switch. Will use it for 48 hours.
[ I used my LG Optimus V to send this message ]
I'll probably keep both Dropbox as well as Sugarsync. I have close to 5.5GB free on Dropbox by completing various tasks as well as referrals. So this way I can have 5.5GB on sugarsync as well.
Oh I just love referral spam..

Before creating this topic I have searched through entire xda-developer forum for this app or site (whatever). There are some posts in HD2 forum or so, and they are year or two old. But I don't have HD2, so I never heard of it. Also, if I had WM I would never go into the Android forum to find some helpful apps or so.
I have also recived the information about the site by the refferal link, but I am thankful to that user, because he gave me the link to really helpful stuff and +500 Mb to my account.
So, your message is spam, not mine.

Yeah, sure, you're just looking for people to sign up to increase your quota. Thus, you are spamming this forum for referrals. Be honest about it at least.
But last time I checked, it didn't do proper sync with the android counterpart. Just syncs the data on the PC. Meaning I can add files on the PC end and expect them not to be on my SD card unless I start downloading each of them one by one.
Has that been changed?

Agree. OP even used a bit.ly link to hide the referral further.
I actually use and like SugarSync. I sync my photos.
But, has anyone looked at the market reviews for this app? It's like 99% referral spam. That's why, in a moderated forum like this, referral spam isn't allowed. Otherwise, this forum could look like that.
If you just want to get the word out, how about edit your original post and remove the referral code?

I use it and prefer it over Dropbox.
Mobile photos are synced automatically.
I have my documents, etc., in multiple directories under one directory on the SD card. Open Sugarsync and tap that directory and it syncs everything. Unless I missed something, isn't Dropbox about the same?

Hello All,
I am a new member and have been lurking here for several weeks trying to learn about the Android tablets and, in particular, the Transformer. This one sounds like the model I want to invest in. I am somewhat on in years so I don't have a lot of the backround knowledge on a lot of the technical types of things I read discussed on this forum so I was wondering if I could ask a favor from the group. One of the main things I want to do with the tablet is read scanned copies of scientific journals, books, magazines, etc. I'm assuming the Transformer can do this easily. However, I also want to read newspapers. I live in the Atlanta area and I subscribe to the Atlanta Journal/Constitution. They have a web-based version which contains the full content of the newspaper. I can read it on my desktop, but I have been unable to load the site on Android demo units at Best Buy (maybe because Flash 10.2 isn't installed?). Could someone try to load a demo of the AJC on their Transformer and tell me if it loads correctly and if you can read the content? The link follows and it is free, requiring no registration.
OK - it appears as a new member I can't enter a link so I'll try to describe it.
the link is e-edition dot ajc dot com. And then click on 'View Demo'.
It is a split screen with kind of a table of contents on the left and the main content on the right. I would be most appreciative if some brave soul could give this a try and report back.
many thanks in advance,
Brian
I wouldnt say the interface was very smooth or anything, but it does work. And the pinch to zoom works too to let you zoom in on the buttons to see them easier. Couple of screenshots attached for you to see. One landscape mode and the other in portrait.
Personally I much prefer PDF files as they work a lot better. But obviously not everything is available as a pdf. There is an app (called PressReader) that lets you subscribe to a huge amount of newspapers included on the transformer, it's not free though, although it does let you test out about 5 copies of papers of your choice first.
Edit: There's a massive list of USA papers and I'm not spending all day looking for the atlanta ones, but a quick search with the search box didnt show up anything with the name "Atlanta" in that app.
Many, many thanks, stuntdouble. I have to admit I was a bit distressed when I couldn't get it to work at Best Buy (I even started looking at iPads). Now I'm sold and will patiently await the next shipment of Transformers.
Another option for your newspaper is to go through PressDisplay. The My Library application included on the TF comes with a 7 day trial. There is also a separate PressDisplay application available in the Market.
I use PressDisplay to read The Washington Post and I really like how PressDisplay makes a full size newspaper work on a 10" screen.
Thanks, Jerirat. It appears the AJC isn't offered by them as yet. Maybe in the future?
AJC is indeed available in the included pressdisplay app.
Hey Brian, I'm in metro Atlanta and read the AJC everyday on the Transformer. It actually looks better to me on the Asus than on my desktop......
ok I just reread ur post and tried the e-edition. at the moment it says the "server application is unavailable"... I'll try again later
Thanks, mb2k. Fool that I am, I was looking under the "A's" in the list for 'Atlanta...' and there it was under 'T' for "The Atlanta..." Should have known <head slap>.
Brian
Thanks, rrushhour - do you use the AJC link or Pressdisplay?
I use the ajc link. As others have said, the e edition does work...just went to it.

I'm sorry if that's how you feel, I thought I was helping out the community by providing legit access to paid apps and games, which might other wise be stolen. From there people who like the apps will spread word to their friends, generating much more income in theory.
Why don't hold the giveaway here on xda? Seems like you want to generate traffic to your blog and harvest email addresses. You didn't even describe how winners are selected.
I only require emails to contact them if they've won. I don't use the emails for anything else.
Winners are selected at random, I posted that in the initial giveaway and forgot to put it in the second. I use random.org to generate a winner.
As for posting this on XDA, I use the blog because I don't always have apps to giveaway, so in the meantime I update it with other articles. This takes some time and energy on my part as well, corresponding with dozens of developers trying to work out some deal, so yes I do hope it generates traffic.
Your not actually giving them away, people need to win them..the title is misleading.
No, the apps are being given away, there are just limited copies available so it's only fair that the winner is choosen randomly.
In case you're not familiar, dropbox is a free service that provides 2.5gb of FREE online storage. It is is nice to be able to back up and access from any computer in the world your most important files(and now it automatically backs up every photo you take with an android phone)
Essentially what it does is put a folder on your computer which you can move files to. Any file in that folder is automatically uploaded to their server, which you can get at any time. It will also sync between multiple computers or smartphones.
I just thought I'd share because it's a service I can't live without, and it certainly provides piece of mind to have everything important backed up. I keep my resume, car titles, etc, on there, as well as my entire e-book library.
If you're interested in trying it, please click the link below and we both get an extra 500mb of storage space when you sign up.
Sorry, already do, and it's one of those things that board the "Can/can't live without" line pretty narrowly.
As long as there's a computer or relatively fast network around, you'll never have a moment when all your vacation pictures or that important spreadsheet is unavailable ;D
Of course I use Dropbox! But, I won't post an invite link, like you did.
There's also Box.net. I signed up at the right day and got 50 GB. If you use an app called FolderSync, you can sync effortless too.
Yes. I just got a mail from them that refer a friend and they will add 500 mb storage to your account. Max up to 16 GB. I have never gone beyond 2 gb lol.
Yup have been for years sorry though but i think the posting of dropbox referrals is a kinda gray area in the rules on the site...
Works really well with Titanium Back Up on an Android phone. Just don't have to worry about hradware problems loosing data and progs. The free 2.5 gb is more than enough for that.
Nope.
Tbh, as much as I like the fact you are giving people info on dropbox and its usefulness, I'm not so keen on you posting your referral link. If we allow one, then others will also post similar threads. What I suggest is you:
A.) Add referral link to your sig
Or
B.) Add it to your rom/theme/mod/etc thread's OP (if you have one) as a thank/donate type item.
For the above reasons I ask you to remove the referral link in OP. If not removed within 24 hrs I shall remove it myself and may be forced to issue a punishment, which I do not want to do. I hope you understand
Ta
Rick

You can lead a fool to wisdom but you can't make him think! XDA, mobile wisdom, not a n00b feeding ground!!
i just register dropbox and will give a try to use it
Of course I use it! I've an student account so I've got double space on it.
The integration with Android smartphones and the computer is simply awesome.
I've got a Box account also because there was a promotion few weeks ago, if you installed the box app on our android phones they give us a 50GB account so, it's pretty awesome also
I use it . Thanks for the tip on Box .
