I think this thread is COMPLETELY off-topic for this forum.
It reeks of advertising your blog, and nothing else.

I'm sorry if that's how you feel, I thought I was helping out the community by providing legit access to paid apps and games, which might other wise be stolen. From there people who like the apps will spread word to their friends, generating much more income in theory.
Why don't hold the giveaway here on xda? Seems like you want to generate traffic to your blog and harvest email addresses. You didn't even describe how winners are selected.
I only require emails to contact them if they've won. I don't use the emails for anything else.
Winners are selected at random, I posted that in the initial giveaway and forgot to put it in the second. I use random.org to generate a winner.
As for posting this on XDA, I use the blog because I don't always have apps to giveaway, so in the meantime I update it with other articles. This takes some time and energy on my part as well, corresponding with dozens of developers trying to work out some deal, so yes I do hope it generates traffic.
Your not actually giving them away, people need to win them..the title is misleading.
No, the apps are being given away, there are just limited copies available so it's only fair that the winner is choosen randomly.

I hope this falls inside the rules for this section.
I now have yet another reason to be jealous of iPhone users. This does not often happen, but at times it still does. Cinemagram, is an app for building cinemagraphs right on your phone. Here is a tumbler feed with supposed examples of what the app can create. http://cinemagram.tumblr.com/
I contacted the developers of this app, Factyle Inc, and did my best bit of groveling for an Android version. It seems I wont need to be jealous for too long. Here is the reply I received back in a matter of minutes.
"LOL!!!
We'll get there soon "
If you want this on Android as much as I do, please email the devs and let them know there is an audience for this app on Android.
I dont want to post up their email, so take a look at the bottom of their site for their email link. http://cinemagr.am/
Great idea ...
171 views, but has anyone actually sent them an email?
we have many developers on here and cinemagram has a posting on there site looking for android developers. http://cinemagr.am/home/jobs
Hi Everyone, long time reader, modder, flasher, 0 time poster:.
I just wanted to get a gauge on the community's attitude towards hacking a paid application. Not for the intent of making it free, but for the intent of making it work!
You see, There's an app out there called "Escort Live!". Don't get me wrong, it's a great app as it integrates with your radar detector and laser jammers while driving... but it's rife with issues that the company just hasn't been able to address... see the following forum for more information on that:
I can't outside link yet due to the post count, but you can find all of the issues on escort live! for android's forums. I'm sure you can google them.
So... I made a post to try and help the community out by decompiling the 2.04apk hosted on their site... not even their latest version... with Virtuous 10 Studios, and Informed the community of the Sloppy Dev work, and that I would try to fix the issues with our specific phones (Motorola based).
2 days after that post was made...
I get permanently banned. no reason given.
They then pulled the old .apk's off of their site, so I've conveniently uploaded it to mega upload so everyone can see the crappy dev work for themselves... again... can't post links yet, but if someone with a post count pms me I'll send it to them.
I don't have enough of a post count to make a dev project out of this yet either, but as soon as I do then I'll post the progress on of the project on github.
If anyone would like to join in the effort to give PAYING CUSTOMERS a functioning apk to use with their phones... volunteers are more than welcome, especially those with java / xml experience.
I have a wordpress site that I can't link here, but it's my first name Philip Last Name Cabibi at wordpress if you're interested in tracking the issue with the full links.
market link
From a technical standpoint the app is free (with premium subscription options) and I can only assume there's some sort of verification process for that subscription so as long as that's kept in I would think this is certainly acceptable though I'm not sure what your post actually said
did find this though (basically just talks about it and then links here and the blog) relevant post on his blog is here
@ University of Pi...
You are correct... It's a free app; however, in order to all the app to connect with your escort compatible radar detector, one must purchase a separate cord, and pay for a yearly subscription of about 79.95.
Full disclosure: the management at escort has been nothing but professional, and have extended the subscription of the beta testers for another year as a result of all the bugs.
The problem though is the lack of updates. Alot of us have invested alot of money into the app. Cost of Radar detector, Cost of the special chord, plus the cost of the subscription. New users, unfortunately, don't get the benifit of the extended subscription.
The point is... is that users of certain phones, paid for a product, and the product isn't functioning correctly. The reasons for this are the sub-standard programming of the devs. No notation on the methods in the smali files, poorly designed xml arrays, cryptic variable definitions, etc.
Personally, I feel as if the management have no control over the fixing of the problems, and are handcuffed, because the initial developer purposefully made the program extremely difficult for a new developer to come in and fix the issues, as a result of the poor structure of the program itself.
Anyway, glad to see you found those links... Thank you... didn't know that another thread was made requesting information about what happened to the original thread (they are correct, I in no way posted the entire source code of the program on their site) What I did was point out the flaws, and logcat results that tell a completely different story regarding the root issues effecting motorola devices than what the devs have told management, and as a result, what management has in turn relayed to the users.
Unfortunately, I can't follow up in the forum as I am permanently banned, but I, and many others, really just want the program to work correctly. It's an excellent concept and it's a shame that Escort is resorting to these types of tactics in an attempt to prevent the open source community from improving their product.
I'm sure even with the improvements, a subscription fee would still be required; however, the original concept of the OP was to convey the fact that it's possible for the open source community to bypass the "premium features".
I don't condone this; however, it's a difficult pill to swallow when faced between choosing the ethical choice.... paying the yearly subscription for a poorly functioning app... or sideloading a fully functioning app created by an open source community because the official developers aren't making any progress.
Would any other senior devs on this site wish to chime in on this?
You should have never been banned from there...but hey...no good deed goes unpunished right?
I've had EL for quite some time and it's irritating to no end to see how flawed it is. It's a shame that they won't welcome help and instead act that way toward people trying to do something good for them.
Hacking and posting an app that uses paid services is considered warez and will not allowed to be posted here nor will any help be given in doing so.
Rules must be predefined, not post defined. whether it's a game or contest.
Selecting the 9 shortlisted and disqualifying them later due to private message is complete unfair. I think if we people can read those private message and vote the shortlisted after reading the comment is complete user opinion who votes them. This shouldn't be considered spam and must be qualified again.
I know many developers who cannot buy a good smartphone and then too they develop for those smartphone by getting help from the user who own those phone and in such a case if an shortlisted want to get his help , then that's a great thing that user is ready to vote him to become a next developer for the phone he gets.
Please willverduzco, kindly correct the contest and don't repeat a situation like as happened with 'One plus one' contest where the voted winner was gone out of contest though he was selected and later they corrected.
And please remove those image showing off the message, if there is something which cannot be blocked now and then cannot be marked spam too. if u can stop those similar message in next contest, go ahead. i appreciate.
If anyone feel that what i talked is correct and want it to be corrected to include all the shortlisted again, then pls raise your voice via private message to willverduzco who created the 555 giveaway ......
Member thanks for your input, but the Contest has been corrected and those found "cheating" the system are now disqualified. The issue is some have ethics problems, and took it upon themselves to "work" the resources in place here on XDA. Vice just keeping it honest and clean, but seems when there is free involved it brings out the worst in some people.... but you are still welcome to send willverduzco a PM.
Again Thanks.
So thanks to the facebook algorithm change I thought my push notifications were broken and spend a day troubleshooting. Below is the official statement from Facebook. I've worked out the more you actively use facebook the more notifications you receive weird right almost makes me want to abandon facebook entirely I MEAN SERIOUSLY . The same thing happened on my iphone 4s WHY JUST WHY .
Of course, the goal is to keep you engaged and on the platform. To decide which types of updates would best achieve that, Facebook uses different data points. Besides just looking at what’s available and who you are as a person, that also means
examining the content itself. Here, it looks at things like:
Average time spent on content
Time of the posting
Was the link shared by another person over messenger?
Number of replies, comments, and likes
Overall post engagement
Publisher/brand post shared by a friend
Type of posting
How informative the post is
Hello guys,
First of all, english is my second language so there might be somethings not well written .
I'm Leo, a 23 year old software developer from Brazil. Since this quarentine started I have been laid off from my work due to this covid-19 situation. I was working with software development for web and I have always wanted to make apps for mobile, now that im unenployed I started studying this mobile app development area. I have been developing this app for 2 weeks while learning how to do it.
The app is basically a game with celebrity tweets. I have collected about 15 thousand somewhat thoughtful tweets from the top 500 followed twitter accounts to make a game where the user must guess who posted the tweet. It is very hard to find interesting tweets from celebrities so I have saved around 600,000 tweets and used machine learing models to filter self promoting tweets or boring topics...
I made this app more to learn how to do it but my friend told me it is a cool idea for a game, so I'm asking you guys to get a more honest review and in case of this having a positive reaction I would make some promoting to get more public awareness. Thank you for your time

I can't post outside links apparently because I am a new user... Since this is not spam Im goig to put it here, I hope its not a problem : play.google .com/store/apps/details?id=com.codingleo.whopostedthat
This seems like a fun game. I do have some feedback for it below:
Consider changing the wording of the first screen of the tutorial. The whole "99% of you already figure it out but I guess I need to explain it anyway" comes off kind of harsh for the people that didn't get it.
Speaking about the tutorial, it should only be shown to the user once. So if I download the app and play the game, it should show. When I close out the app and wish to play it again, the tutorial shouldn't show again.
Consider showing the top and bottom options before the dragging starts so the user. It cuts down on wasted time because the user has to swipe up and down each time before picking there answer. Also, this would be helpful if the user skips/is skipping through the tutorial.
