hey hows everyone doing? i was wondering if there is an app that i can use for my htc hd2 phone? any help would be appreciated thanks.
are they not illigal in most places?
But as far as I know there isn't. sorry.
WTF is a police scanner? You mean a GPS-navigator, which shows you the radar-cam in traffic? Try a look a sygic-mobile maps.
But without any information what "a police-scanner" is and where you have seen this app, the information from your side is very poor....
Hmm.
I think you mean Scanning RF channels, As this isnt part of the HD2 Hardware the answer is no, sorry. Dont think I have heard of any mobile that does...
Only thing I could think of would be streaming via web realtime updates but also never heard of any sites that do it...
So basicly no..

Yep, you can listen to police scanners from around the world with WunderRadio
police radio
Hmmm, why. Just why would you want this?
The iPhone has it.
There are also programs for the HD2. A Dutchman has made a program where you can track the police, firefighters, ambulance and Royal Dutch Rescue Society via RSS feed and google maps mobile. Perhaps there is something in other countries.

To avoid the cops? I thought that was obvious
Thanks for the post, listening to police in the USA is not against the law.
Actually Radio Shack sells receivers, but with the digital invasion, it is getting tougher to hear them, frequency hoping and such.
Analog signals were easier to follow
I couldn't get wunderradio to work for me, but this is what I did do to FINALLY get a LIVE POLICE SCANNER.
Download http://hp.vector.co.jp/authors/VA032810/
GSPlayer for PocketPC and install it.
Then go to http://m.radioreference.com/?a=la and find the .mp3 stream you like.
Then just copy it into GSplayer. I did this copy and paste way with mymobiler.
It should buffer and then connect.
IF you guys find an easier way please share.
OMG... I'm an idiot. It works with Wunder Radio. Just copy the url into the "OpenURL" and it should connect. For the life of me I didn't see "OPENURL" and was trying to use the search function....
Now we have two ways...
You're looking for an app called WunderRadio... It's kinda no frills, but I can stream internet radio from around the world - and Police Band Frequency is pre-installed for MOST U.S. cities
yeah metta 24 is absolutely correct. my friend with an iphone has an app where you can listen to live police feeds. lol its not illgeal and usually you can get them from the county's website of where one lives. lol some old people listen to live police radio feeds to see if there is trouble in a neighborhood. i just thought it would be nice to have one and i saw it on the iphone
Yeah the iPhone has a couple of these apps. They are pretty cool.
That is one thing I'm going to miss and probably be pissed off about once I make the permanent switch to my HD2 from my iPhone.
The iPhone is the preferred platform to make a mobile app for in the eyes of most businesses. I mean the App store has only been around for a couple years and it has pretty much blown away what WinMo has to offer.
Yes there are a lot of "apps" for WInMo but they are strewn all over the place. If you look in M$ Marketplace under free/utilities there's like 14...
14?! Come on. There are like a few hundred or thousand for iPhone.
Oh well though. The positives still outweigh the negatives for me.
uhh trapster?
anyone know of a UK one ?
Did everyone completely ignore my post? I showed how to get police scanners on your WMO device...

and there - neatly encapsulated - you have the reason why people don't bother developing great s/w like hipstamatic for winmo. it's too easy to crack, people are not used, or inclined, to pay for apps like this, so why should they bother.
i would love (and would pay for) hipstamatic for my hd2.
sorry
me too ,who can share it
vintage pic is not that great. having used hipstamatic for quote some time and changing to HD2, I'm a little disappointed that there isn't a decent camera app for winmo.I'm still waiting to hear about something coming out for this phone. i would pay for hipstamatic again to use on my HD2.
Hey guys,
As an Ex-iphone user, i loved too playing around with photo applics that add effects to pictures, i.e. vintage look, polaroid etc... Can you recommend on any applications for HD2 of the same nature?
I have found VintagePic in the marketplace, but i can't purchase it since my credit card does not match any of the countries in the list. Any other suggestions?
Thanks, Guy
just one option! sucks!
is really possible it? there is not only one application for windows mobile?!

Are you f*cking serious? Get a life dude, who gives a sh*t if someone thinks iPhone is better than Android. What are you gonna do, 'crash' their phone, then celebrate when they stand up, start screaming in terror and declare Android superior?
You're an idiot
Use a sms bomber app and text them.
Then celebrate by watching porn on your android.
Then scream "IPHONE doesnt have PORN or SMS BOMBER"
But no.
You cant crash them
listen Dump A*S no one asked you to reply back ok. if you know how to reply nicely then do but if you can't the leave this page and consider you never seen it.
its a question and its non of your business if i celebrate or not,
it might be dumb question but i need it so if you don't like any topic on this forum then leave and go F............ self
Your best bet is an SMS bomber

thanks for the reply guys but i already know about sms bomber and they have it also.

Stop being an asshat and get a life dude. you'd hae to SSH into their phone, and for that you would need their root PW and you would also need an address to SSH into to, and good luck getting that. Also even if you got in you'd have to hope that the terminal implement(I believe it is a modified bash) has the proper commands to "crash" their phones. instead of wasting sever space and everyone's time with your silly questions and do something productive, because all it sounds like is you are trying to build up some cred for yourself as some sort of "hacker". You come her, and you want everyone to do the work for you, so you can crash the cool kids iPhone at school. get a life
I think SMS bomber is the maximum u can get..
don't dream to hack their phones..

This is not a "simple question."
This is more of a "malicious loser nerd" question.
Nope there's no way to remotely crash an Iphone. SMS bomber only irritates them, but i think some of them have bombers too thats why we use anti spam filters. Hmmm but seriously, is there a way the Iphone can get overloaded and hang or crash?
Take their iphone, and throw it on the ground from a 6 story-foot building.
It's freeze.

I know about that lolz. Anyway seriously anyway to crash their software? Without them noticing is good enough already. Or how about developing an IOS app that can overheat and overload the Iphone's processors and battery.
no, that wouldn't work specifically because Apple is STRICT on their app store.
If your friend is jailbroken, you can try to make a app that would do that, but it'd be pointless.
you'd lose a friend (he'll probably know it was you)
(Let's make this simpler for him, since he apparently can't understand reasoning)

No, it can not be done.
OP is an idiot.
What's going in this forum. You are discussing to crash other phones
OP, you're not going to find any help here. Anyone who knows anything about what you're talking about doing will likely not help you because, and I say this with all due respect...
You're evil.

Anyway, I close this useless thread and report this to a Senior Mod

Maybe you guys shouldn't respond if you don't know what the program is. TheftAware is a 3rd party app that survives a flash and even a simcard change. It's a program that takes the administrative rights of your device to ensure that you get it back. Since it communicates thru SMS, it provides the number of whatever sim is inserted by texting it to a series of preferred contacts provided by you. You can set off a car alarm, disable the device and much, much more.
Here's a couple links for anybody who doesn't know what it is or hasn't actually read anything about it
Here
&
Here
Theft Aware is a great app. Been having it since my MT4G. It's great because if you swap out some cards, hard reset the phone, etc, you can still track down the phone and try to recover it. It has a greater value for phones that are rooted. Sometimes, just for fun, I send a text to my phone "lock on" and it start to say super loud " this phone is stolen or lost" and won't turn off unless I text it "lock off".

Ah, I missed in the OP where it mentioned an application or setting. It was such an in depth post. Congrats on deciphering it
I've been using it, I love how it gives more options for Root users. I haven't been unfortunate enough to have to use it, but it really gives me piece of mind.
Apparently you can activate GPS in the background, you can even silently call the phone and listen in. Taking remote camera shots would be AWESOME too, but I don't think it can do that (yet).
Plus, the app is German, so you know it's good.

Thanks, I'm aware that the app is available in English, I've purchased and am running the unlimited license.
I just meant that, because it's developed by Germans, you know it's good, like their cars. Great to hear the taking remote pictures is in dev.
Webremotecontrol & picture feature
the picturefeature is already in the new betaversion. Betatesters will soon be able to use the web remotecontrol interface.
If you want to join the betaprogram send your IMEI and username at forum.theftaware.com to support-at-itagents.at
Just purchased this app thanks to this thread, hopefully I'll never need tho
I nearly lost my phone at a concert last weekend when it was knocked out of my hands while video recording a song, took 15 minutes to find it in the sea of people since it was pitch black out. Now I'll feel alot better if this ever happens again!
Thanks!

These are the apps we know are malicious, but there might be more out there.

I've tried out Avast... can't say how well it works, since it hasn't caught anything... but then again, there shouldn't have been anything for it to catch...
It comes with the mobile security it too.. nice piece of work and I didn't really notice any extra battery drain. Hard to say for sure, but it certainly didn't make the list when I check battery use.
Jager
I use lookout and have for quite some time. You get a free 14 day trial of premium which has the ability to find and remote wipe the device. The best part is you don't have to activate that trial until you need it(which I hope I never do). As far as battery issues it uses very few resources.
