OK first i must apologize. I have a bad spelling but u will manage to understand.
First i`ve installed CM7 update throught 2ndinit. All ok, but i`m just not geting a WOOOW. Is ok but it has a lot of glitches. I`ve managed to customize my 2.2.2 to get high performance whitout any force close and got 1000MHz throught MilestoneOverclock. After that disspointment (just for me, i`m sure that those smart guys do the best they can but 2.2.2 is just enought for me) i`ve flashed JRDNEM_U3_3.4.2_179-002...sbf directly whitout wipeing or anything that had to be done. After this it was stuck at android logo. Tried to hard reset was unable to do that. managed to enter clockworkmode but was unable 2 do anything. After searches on forum and other thing i`ve installed varios .sbf versions none worked. The last version i`ve instaled was JRDNEM_U3_3.4.2_179-002_DEBLUR_SIGN_SIGNED_UCAJRDNEMARAB1B80AA03A.0R_PDS03C_USAJRDNFRYORTCEE_P016_A016_HWp3_Service1FF or JORDN_U3_97.21.51.sbf ofcourse the same thing happened, stucked at android logo after i`ve found a thread for recovery and i can`t remember which one but flashed Tmo_2.2.1-3.4.2-107-boot-devtree-ONLY.sbf . After that it started ok. I`ve used CEE sbf because that is my original stock rom or the same version showned on my phone before CM7 update. I`ve googled and saw that a lot of defy users have the same problem. I sure helped me so i just wish it would help you to. If that was usefull to you please hit the thanks button. Defy is a really good small priced smartphone.
I`ve used RSD 5.3.1 in bootloader Power Defy holding power btn and volume up btn.
Dono if it can help but i think that if ur phone has a functional bootloader and a 09.10 version it will surely do the job the easyest way. Goodluck
Bine Nepoate. M-a rezolvat bine si o sa stiu pe viitor. Ms oricum de completare
If you didn't flashed a Full Gingebread SBF (2.3.4) then you shouldn't ever flash the JORDN_U3_97.21.51.sbf because this Eclair SBF has two CG with code 5. This Eclair SBF is used to go back to Froyo after flashing a full SBF of leaked GB (see more details here), therefore if you never flashed a FULL GB SBF the best approach to revive your Defy is to do a full wipe from stock recovery and then flash the official Froyo SBF for your country/region.
+1 for nepotu...i just wanted to say that i had a scare like that to the first time i reverted back to the original firmware
just wipe the phone in stock recovery (data/cache) by holding vol down and power the little android guy will show up and then press both vol up and down at the same time
and then u can flash the sbf cee for romania
remember that first boot will take longer...but i guess u know that

Hi everyone.
I Had CM7 beta 6 installed on my defy, and I stupidly tried to update 2nd init, so now the cell phone is bricked.
actually I can enter on bootloader and on stock recovery, but I´m not able to flash any room.
I tried to make a factory reset and flash rooms in rsd 4.9 but the following error is shown: failed flashing process. Unable to retrieve initialization values from INI file. (0x7029); phone conected.
My battery is full, I wiped, and tryed nordic rom, JRDNEM_U3_3.4.2_164, JRDNEM_U3_2.51.1_ I get the same mistake everytime.
some guy here had a problem when he installed 2nd init in cm7 just like me, but he was having other problem and solved flashing french rom. it didn´t worked for me.
any ideas??
First, you should post this on general section, ot developers forum. Just wipe all then reflash your favorite 2.2 SBF, and never try to update bootmenu in CM7 again, since it already have bootmenu.
eae cara!
sorry for posting at the wrong place.
I wiped all and tried to flash many 2.2 roms as I sayd, but Im unable to flash. Only get. failed flashing process

OK, I solved my problem! I was not beeing able to flash another room because I was using RSD 4.6 instead RSD4.9.
But when I was flashing the ROM with RSD 4.9, my battery died. And I got code error.
So I Used Mcgyver showed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=892026
to solve the baterry problem!
And my defy went back to life. almost perfect. now the touch screen is not working.
If you are from Brazil, just flash the apropriate 2.2 SBF (there's a SBF for VIVO, TIM, CLARO and a Retail version) and see if the problem persists. If yes, send it to warranty
I wiped all data and my touch it´s back to work!
Here is a test SBF version of MIUI latest (27/5/11) with English patch applied and including Swype and full battery percentage display too. Replaced data icons with sense ones as the green ruins the whole look!
Please do a nandroid first as i'm not sure if this even works on other peoples Defy. I tested and it works on mine.
To install:
You need to be on Nordic rom or be using it as a base for your current rom such as CM7
Install my sbf through Moto flasher. Let boot. Report.
Note: May not be full English on first boot. Go to settings and re-set English language, reboot into recovery and clear cache and dalvik cache it seemed to do the job for me.
DOWN!Download me now!
Thanks, man
Remember this is a test please don't blame me if your wife leaves you.

Swyped by my Defy using CM-7 beta 6 with the XDA premium App
Hmm seems to not work for others... I wonder what would need to be done differently.
Removed download link for now.

i think the problem is when we make a data factory reset from normal recovery which makes 2-nd init unusable. i am trying this baut for build spanish miui, and i think a method that would work is first install an original froyo->boot it completely->reboot to bootloader and flash the moded sbf. i will report back if works.
I tried it, flashed over CM7 without wiping and it worked. Then tried a full wipe with stock recovery and it sticks at the M logo.
I was on nordic 3.4.2.177 base before I flashed. After wiping had to reflash full nordic and tried again, still stuck on Motorola logo.
I made a Custom sbf with CM7 nightly build before,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14199021&postcount=14
Came across the same problem, it seems that we should modify the dumped CG39 a bit.
I think it would be greate&enough if we would have a SBF which only contains Custom Bootmenu so it's small and flashes very fast.
After flashing that CWM can be used to flash.

That Thread was created 2 minutes before my post
Thank you very much
I'm sorry if it's a dumb question, I'm new to this, what's the point of a sbf? Why not just a nandroid?
It's quite useful to have a SBF. If something is going wrong, let's say you'll try to put one nandroid which is not successfully applied or you by mistake wipe your phone using stock recovery you'll have to flash fist a Froyo SBF and then you can install 2nd Init and apply the nandroid, while by having the CM7/MIUI SBF you'll have only to apply it and that's it.
So, basically , it's for the lazy ones instead of flashing nordic, root, install 2ndInit and Miui, you just flash this sbf. 5 minutes less and a chance of bricking the phone. I'm going for the long way.
We should focus on finding and reporting bugs on the basic Miui, this would really help make a better release.

Everything worked great but when i finished installing and came across to the reboot it just freezed on the SE logo. I tried all the key combinations i came across the internet but as it seems im stack there. Anyone has a clue what can I do?
why are you in bootloader ?? you should be flashin roms with clockworkmod via recovery you need nothing in bootloader to flash a rom ?? hit me up i will try to help
hit thanks please
lg g2x
rooted
cyanogenmod-eaglebloodv2.5
trinity kernal uv/oc 1.5 ghz stable
retired
mytouch 3g slide
rooted
s-off
my custom kernal
So man, i flashed the rom, everything was ok. . after the phone rebooted though, it never got into the new rom. . just freezed on sony ericsson. PC Companion can't do anything because of modified rom is installed. I just said bootloader just to say it`s unlocked. I followed instructions step by step, rom installed succesfull - - after the 1st reboot it just freezes on SE logo. Nothing more.
Ok fixed it at last. had to play around kinda more..
I used this tut from theandroidsoul - tutorial-how-to-flash-a-firmware-using-flashtool-on-xperia-arc
* Of course i downloaded the LT18i_4.0.1.A.0.266_CUSTOMIZED-UK
I have a Nexus s with 4.0.3 flashed via bootloader.How can i downgrade to 2.3.x without root,cwm or debug(cause it isn't working) ?
i've tried several methods but none of them worked(Odin,Heimdall)
They all requires me to enter download mode with debug enabled. My debug mode is enabled but as far as i read on xda,the degub is not working in this version of ICS.
my question is : how can i downgrade to ANY firmware from this ICS version
P.S. Entering recovery mode is not an option...the phone simpli enters in a recovery/download mode - loop and keeps restarting.
Please respond fast.10x
The way I did it was to download Clockwork Mod app and scroll down to where it says stock... then 2.3.3. Once u flash that you'll lose root and an update to 2.3.x will be prompted to ya. If it doesn't then Google (Download) 2.3.4(x) and manually update. What model do u have btw?
- Google
You need to root is the basic moral here. Nothing else is really worth the effort of getting it done.
Hi
If the procedure for the nexus is the same as it is for the S2.
It should be straight forward.
Download your ROM, if its Orange you want here is a good link, I used it myself today:
http://androidromupdate.com/2012/02...-i9100p-firmware-updates-list-and-stock-roms/
The ROM I used was the NON WIPE type - I9100BVKJ4_I9100ORAKJ4_ORA
I include a picture of what I did.
I was initially on a custom ICS 4.0.3 XXLPH and have gone back to Orange stock rom.
Load the integrated Rom just into the PDA window - connect your phone in download mode and start, and that should be it!
Don't check re-partition or anything else.
Keep trying it will work.
I also had an initial prob whereby I installed the wrong kernel and the phone screen was messed up and seemed to be bricked and to get it back I loaded odin up.
Put phone in download mode.
Checked re-partition - unchecked 'auto reboot and f.reset'
Used a PIT (partition file)
Used a kernel file suitable for the S2 in the PDA window and pressed 'start'
This seems to have repartitioned and wiped the mistake and unbricked the phone.
This loaded and the phone booted - no messed screen.
Then I continued to accomplish the ROM switch over.

Don't do this. The method for the Nexus S is definitely NOT the same as the SGS2, or even the SGS. Although it may be possible to use Odin or Heimdall, it is not recommended. We already have enough freedom to do as we please.
I thought all android / samsung phones would follow the same procedure for flashing new roms or unbricking via Odin?
Kies is useless for updating as we all know.
So what other methods beside Odin or Heimdall can be used on the samsung nexus?
Cheers for clarifying though, I was only tying to be helpful
galaxy 2 ics to gingerbread
dear all
i am much upset that i upgrade my galaxy s2 to ics 4.0.3 , it is much laggy i want to downgrade it to gb 2.3.5 or 2.3.6 , can anybody help me to do this , with the all the steps and downloading links of the exact files , i tried alot many times and when it is done on odin with pass message , cell restarts and with error screen .
thanks in anitcipitation
Regards
Shoaib Hassan
i've just downgraded to 2.3.2 i used the rom wiper from bm and then simply flashed the oxygen rom over it
the only way and easily is odin.just go to downloading.make sure to download the correct modem ,baseband and needed files by cheking your nexus s version.ex.i9020t,i9023 .there are not the same version, and will use different modem, baseband ...
I also want to downgrade from ics to gingerbread too, by pure luck i managed to upgrade to ics (i'm completely new to this) but having had this on my phone for awhile, I want to return to gingerbread...
I'm currently grabbing kernel_I9100xwkj3 (couldnt find xwkj1 anywhere)
and
gt-i9100_o2i_i9100xwkj1_i9100o2ik11_i9100xxk14
to use with odin?
question is... is this all i need and is there anything i need to be aware of?
You need to make use of fastboot and flash the stock GB rom from factory images provided by google, then you can flash cwm and then flash any rom you want
it is because cwm can flash roms with android version up but not down means that you can flash 4.1 if u have 4.0.4 but if you are on 4.0.4 then you cannot flash 2.3.x
Hope it helps
Hi guys,
My son of 9 wanted a telephone so I bought him a LG P920 3D because I can't afford a new one now. I wanted to install CyanogenMod cm-10-20131006-NIGHTLY-p920 and gapps-jb-20121011-signed. I have done it before with my own phone (S3) and tablet (TF101) and that went just fine.
Now with my son's phone something went wrong. It's now only showing the round CyanogenMod logo which keeps spinning and nothing more.
I especially bought ClockworkMod Touch Recovery to flash it with. Please help me because my little boy is very dissapointed and he got a present, a car you can control wireless with a phone and that was the reason why I wanted to flash it. So he could play with his new toy.
I did a factory reset so I started flashing with a clean phone. Please help me!
First install ICS V30A baseband use this video (you may need to go in to the stock recovery after flashing and do a factory reset is a problem arises during flashing)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqC5qw6WRaY&feature=youtube_gdata_player
secound install WKparts bootloader and TWRP you can use a tool om this forum named simple tool can be found here everything you need is in the tool
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/p959msww1ol04s4/BUlrkRLEs7
and then load a rom on to the external SD card and flash it in TWRP or CWM touch i recomend
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2164367
if you want the newest CM although it's a bit more hassle with this 4.2.2 pacman rom as you need to delete the first line in updater script for it to work properly on ICS
@sioxz
thanks for your response but after a while I found out that I had to hold on the volume down (and not up!) + power + 3D button. I've read somewhere volume up so ofcourse nothing happened. Finally back in recovery I could flash again another rom and that went fine. But now I have another problem and that is I don't have a baseband version.
So no 3G!! What do I have to do to get a baseband?? I really have no idea, I've search everywhere but I couldn't find anything.

This what I have flashed:
Kernel-versie
3.0.21-CM+
CyanogenMod versie
10-20130908-NIGHTLY-p920
Build datum
Sun Sep 8 11:42:08 PDT 2013
Buil-nummer
cm-920-userdebug 4.1.2 JZO54K eng.
jenkins.20130908.114141 test-keys
i don't know where you can flash only the base band but the V30A haves baseband in it and it makes to that you have to flash the custom bootloader which works really good (can boot anything)
You can flash baseband with LG Flash Tool.

Can you please tell me how, step-by-step. I've read some tutorials here but they are so not easy to read because they always use so many different colors and fonts it becomes hard for me to understand what they are saying.
