[ROM] CyanogenMod 7 for the ZTE Blade :: V7.1.0 (9 Oct 2011) - Blade Android Development

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>

*/
CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

Dear Andy8274,
Usually people say "hello", "please", "thanks", and at least start reading the entire post, even sometime use the research tool, before asking this kind of question.
Best regards,
Tuc

maybe You have to install gapps? I don't know :/
I can't bring A2SD into this rom, DarkTremor beta and stable- system stays in blank, black screen. My method (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1281887) works, but by unknown reason free space on /data still falls down like a rock (app, app-private and data moved to SD)

I had the same issue in the GSF b27 while trying your method. and finally managed to make A2SD working perfectly using the following commands in the terminal emulator:
Code:
su
a2sd reinstall
a2sd datasd
I don't know if it can help...

So, you've installed dark tremor A2sd? Out it was built-in your system?
Sent from my ZTE-BLADE using XDA App

Clean install, all was going well and now.
Then tried to make a call, died had to pull the battery out.
In addition i can't make calls or connect to the internet, setting are all ok

I'm still using GSF b27: A2SD was already built-in, just needed to be activated. So once you installed A2SD, try to activate it with my previously described method.
It also found an app that could help: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=917377

GAMES work great
Hiya,
Just wanted to say that this ROM is the best for 3D (for me anyway). Been using GSF for a few months now and I gave up on angry birds (sluggy) and others.... Just put CM 7.1.0 and Angry birds workds like a dream
General UI (scrolling and oppening apps) it is slower than GSF (dunno why, maybe the theme?) But performance wise (once the stuff has been opened) it seems to run faster and thats what I want. Any chance of having a less heavy theme available?
WIFI - Works
CALLS - WORK
LATITUDE - works (even checks in automatically, never managed that on GSF)
GAMES - WORKS LIKE A DREAM
BLUETOOTH A2D - Works perfectly. Playing music with (andless, I love that prog, so easy UI and folder view ...)
So, basically, All good work guys I just wish for a less heavy UI

Hello,
I am not a Blade owner but one of my friends is one and he asked me to upgrade his phone to CyanogenMod. As I am not the owner I would like to ask you how to install the rom if the device is a gen1 one model and what I should download. Thanks in advance and sorry for OT!

install ClockworkMod 3 and Bobs your uncle
Btw. Played a bit more with interface options (quite a few ...) and managed to get a performance quite similar to the GSF one so quite happy now
all seems to work for me

What settings have you guys changed for better performance?

Edit: going in the zte entry of the application menu and calibrating the proximity sensor fix this

You want to use the Gen1 to Gen2 tpt upgrade - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1258855

hmmmm 7.1.0 is nice in performance as now more heap size .more overclocking level i can reach upto 787 stable
but it has a really slowww interface
games work well without glitches .
but many hd gameloft latest games are unplayable i know it is bcoz of hardware .but sometimes software can enhance hardware performance as do overclocking
in next mod if possible cyanogen can increase gaming performance

There is only so much that can be done with a 600mhz armv6 phone. Most of those gameloft hd games were designed for armv7 phones at around 1ghz, the blade is half that speed.
The interface can be sped up by turning on 16 bit transparency in cyanogenmod performance settings, that allows it to use more hardware acceleration for drawing the interface. It causes a few minor graphics glitches though. You can also replace the launcher, remove the theme chooser & do a few other things to speed it up.

see now gameloft games are designed for 1 ghz processor as you are saying
so basically without overclocking it should work on 1 ghz processor with switched off graphics or without any graphical setting
now in this mod we have got 810 mhz we can provide more vm maybe we could reach 900mhz in next kernel .we could enable graphics using blade buddy and we have 512mb ram which can handle heavier processes .we could reduce those 100mhz gap in running game using graphics ,,ram and other system properties

It's not just the mhz, armv7 processors are more efficient, faster at the same speed & provide more features. Some Gameloft games will run, but you shouldn't expect them all to run, or run well, they were designed for higher end phones.

This bulk of this PROJECT is still largely (overwhelmingly) the result of the efforts of cyanogen and team cyanogenMod.
I need to be crystal clear that I didn't do this by myself in a vacuum. This was a team effort. I'd like to thank cyanogen, who pointed me in the right direction when I had a false start and has now integrated this device project into cyanogenmod..
I'd like to thank Eugene, who got me started.
I'd like to thank the entire crew at irc channel #liberatedAria for helping so many noobs get started so I could do other stuff, but especially endeng, for building the first dev environment to follow and verify my process to keep my builds honest, and for helping jznomoney also build a dev environment and continue work while I was sidetracked. jznomoney did a ton of grunt work and some good guesswork to finish up and get a largely working ROM. Atlas gave me a clue after I needed one after not sleeping for a few days.

It's a beautiful thing: nightly builds from the cyanogenMod buildbot - these are builds against the latest cm code repository, are experimental and may not work. But it you want to look at the very latest, this is where you'll find it:

Non-standard disclaimer:
In order to use this ROM, you must have already installed clockwork recovery. If you manage to brick your phone with this ROM from there, you are a dumb ass of unimaginable proportions, and I absolve myself of any responsibility whatsoever. Further, any damage done to your phone with this experimental software is your fault and no one else's.
FAQ
Q. I bricked my phone/my signal sucks/my cat exploded since installing this ROM.
A. See the Non-standard disclaimer above.
Q. I can't seem to flash the rom successfully, and my Nandroid backups don't restore.
A. Do NOT start Clockwork recovery by powering down the phone with the USB port plugged in. Clockwork WILL NOT operate reliably that way. Power down the phone with the USB cord disconnected so that the phone powers off properly. Then start the phone by pressing and holding the vol-down button while pressing the power button to start. After diagnostics complete, you can enter Clockwork the proper way.
Q. I lost my 3g connection after I flashed cm6, now the icon just says "H".
A. You didn't lose 3g - the H is for HSDPA, which is enhanced 3g, sometimes referred to as 3.5g. It's a good thing, if you see an "H" where the "G" used to display - don't worry about it. Print this out for next time you head to the can: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-Speed_Downlink_Packet_Access
Q. How do I keep my wifi from going to sleep every time the screen shuts off?
A. There is a hidden feature that disables wifi sleep.
menu > Settings > Wireless & networks > wifi settings > menu (again) > advanced > Wi-Fi Sleep policy > Never > menu > Save
However: although you can keep the wifi service from sleeping, the wifi driver will still sleep on it's own after detecting no bus activity for a period of time.
Q. Will this ROM support over or under clocking with Set CPU?
A. The kernel has been updated to support overclocking with SetCpu
Q. I can't get flash to work. What's going on?
A. Flash 10 is not supported by this CPU and AOSP Android does not support flash lite. Even if a hack allows installation of Flash 10, it's doubtful it will run very well.
Q. Where's the FroYo wireless hotspot?
A. It's in there!
menu > Wireless & networks > tethering and portable hotspot
Q. What's wrong with bluetooth? It doesn't work with my floozengadget.
A. Nothing. All bluetooth functions have been confirmed *WORKING* with compatible devices.
Q. But my floozengadget device is bluetooth compatible. What's wrong with bluetooth?
A. Nothing. Android AOSP bluetooth on the broadcom chipset is not compatible with every bluetooth device. Consistent compatibility issues have been noted with devices using certain parrott chipsets, certain automobiles with factory bluetooth including most Nissans, Volkswagons and an assortment of other devices and autos.
Q. Can you fix bluetooth so it will work with my floozengadget device?
A. No.
Q. Does the FM Radio work?
A. No, and there are no plans for FM radio support at this time.
Q. I miss HTC Sense. Can it be added to CM6?
A. No. HTC Sense is proprietary. Further, it is more than just a launcher and add on programs.
Q. But I really really really miss Sense. Can it be added to CM6?
A. No. And still - no. Yet - no.
Q. What's an ETA for the fixes and when will the ROM be finished?
A. No one gets a dime for this port, and no one works on it full time. It's a work in progress and as we make any significant breakthroughs, we'll update the ROM and post it. Sometimes I take time off from the project just to be a wise ass and beat on jznomoney. I don't know how any of this answers the question, but if it conveys an urgency to meet a schedule, then I recommend reading the answer over and over again until it doesn't.
Q. My widgets don't load or I am missing icons on the desktop or in folders.
A. The sdcard mounts late in the startup process - later than when desktop icons and widgets are loaded. This is a problem inherent in Android 2.2 and manifests itself when an application/widget is moved to the sdcard that has a presence on the Desktop. This is not a bug in this ROM, it's apps2sd in FroYo.
Q. If this is cyanogenmod, then how come it doesn't work exactly like it does on xyzphone?
A. Good question. I guess mostly because it's not an xyzphone.
Q. May I use your work and customize it and republish it?
A. My work is a small portion of this project. Ask cyanogen specifically about what you want to do and if he's okay with it, who am I to argue? Do not ever claim the work you are using as your own or fail to give cyanogen or his team credit for the project and my group credit for the device port or you will be on a lot of s-lists faster than you can hit your spacebar. I don't think cyanogenmod should be skinned up for redistribution.
Q. May I republish this ROM, giving proper credit?
A. Get permission first.
Q. Will you put out customized/skinned versions of this ROM?
A. No. This is meant to be a clean port of cyanogenmod for the HTC Aria, and nothing more. cyanogenmod is an awesome project, and I don't plan to detract from what it is in any way shape or form by customization. Once you install it, you are free to do whatever you like with it. You are of course also free to build flash-able skins and whatever mods you'd like to share.

figures my first new bug report would be a spelling correction in my post.
This is fantastic I'm flashing right now. To those asking about the camera, I can't really answer your question, but I can input this little tidbit; On the Clean Eclair ROM, the camera was functioning, but didn't handle colors properly, everything had a blue tint to it that led to the inversing of a number of colors (mostly blues with reds and vice versa), which led to some quite interesting photographs although that's not necessarily everyones cup of tea
Also take note, not all the colors you see there are a direct result of the camera, I use CameraFX for all those shots altering the color IT applied to the picture as well, although there were things I had no control over, i.e. the lighter pictured is red with a blue button, the actual lighter is red with a blue button.

Almost CyanogenMod - CM7-SelfKANG1 for Optimus3D

CyanogenMod is a free, community built distribution of Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) which greatly extends the capabilities of your phone.
This is not LG's software, it's not based on it, nor is it compatible with it. Applications that require LG's proprietary Real3D framework will NOT work.
Why Almost CyanogenMod?: This early release is based off the current CyanogenMod code, but unlike CM its components aren't public yet, so you can not build it yourself. Since being able to roll your own is a core feature of CyanogenMod, I prefer to think of this as something close to CM, but not quite CM.

Known issues
HDMI is broken
3D stills (photos) are not working. Taking them crashes the Camera app, viewing them shows both frames side-by-side
Wireless Tethering works, but fails to stop. You'll have to reboot the phone after use
SK1 accidentally includes the OMAP4 Camera test app. Ignore it
SelfKANG1 can be downloaded here
thanks a lot. everything except the known issues are working so far! will test it out and report back
Hi all,
Reposting from another thread.
This is my feedback after 4 hours test:
Globaly :
This rom is very fast, just change the default launcher by launcher pro or Go launcher. Everything work for daily usage.
You can disable animation in displays etting and this CM7 will be very very fast!!
3D:
Camera quality is very poor, video and photo appear with lot of green color..
3D recording, photo and video, don't work for me.
No 3D games.
No 3D gallery and other 3D LG stuff.
you can play previously 3D video recorded with O3D with good quality in gallery but downloaded 3D movies appear sidebyside and no way to change 3D format.
3D photo appear sidebyside.
Bluetooth :
A2DP don't work fine with my car, I can pair devise and play music but DSP application will crash and music stop playing sometime (and replay by self)
Phone:
DSP application crash sometimes when you make call
I think they are all small issue that can be fixed soon.
Very good work Ricardo,you're best!
Sorry for my bad english

OK, I'll have to test it under windows. It works fine with Linux and OSX, so it's probably the usual problem with LG phones (the LG Mobile Drivers want a very specific USB layout)

I think Ricardo will fix that soon, there is an issue with Windows + LG USB drivers and this ROM or something, don't use Windows myself so not really sure what the problem is.

[ROM] CyanogenMod 7 for the Motorola Droid :: V7.1.0 (9 Oct 2011)

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/

Woot! Woot!
CM7.1 plays very nice with the aging D1.
Long time fan. Droid nightlies, and Eris unofficials before that.
Wouldn't consider a new device till at least a CM port is available.
BTW, CM7.1 also goes great with Kentucky Straight Bourbon ;-p

Great Work Man!
Actually just flashed this last night as soon as it came out for the OG Droid. I got my Droid 2 days ago, fixed the screen problem, rooted it with SOC,did factory data reset and flashed the CM. It is very stable and I love it! Now I'm just trying to figure out how to change the PRL,Radio, and S-off for the phone. Anyways...keep up the great work man,I support what you do fully and thanks for the great ROM's!
For the life of me, I can't get apps2ext to work (you know, where you have a second partition on your SD card and when you install apps, the files go there). It keeps telling me the SD card is blank or damaged or whatever and I can't mount it. I was told CyanogenMod had this feature built-in. Am I just completely retarded?

You are not retarded man,the Apps2SD is included in the CyanogenMod,not sure about Apps2Ext but it should work. Once you click the settings button a window should show up that has different options for Add,Edit,Manage Apps,Settings,Search,or More.Or you may click on Settings button and go to: >Settings>Applications>Manage Applications. From there you should be able to manage your apps or download the Apps2SD and manually do it. I can upload the file for you if you'd like it.Let me know bro!
So. The CM 7.1 camera app has problems closing if you use auto flash. The workaround is to use manual flash (on or off). Strange...

I have been running this version for the past couple of days. It has not crashed once and even maps keeps its s*it when you search for something... I am very impressed.
Love it. Made this phone come alive as did my old Eris!!! Thank you.

So, here is a random issue I have. I've paired my Droid with my head-unit. Now every time I turn on my car and activate Bluetooth, audio galaxy starts up and google music opens and starts playing. However, I just want to use Spotify. How do I disable auto music player?
Tried MIUI, unstable.
This one is much more stable, but Google maps crash randomly (without FC, it just quits and goes back to main screen).
Feel a bit sluggish compared with MIUI though. (MIUI's main launcher screen is silky smooth - even to the point of comparable to iPhone's interface), this one has slight jerkiness.
That said, so far everything else appear to be working fine.
I put ChevyNo1 kernel (LV 1100 in interactive mode). Still have issues with Google maps crashing randomly though. (I usually have cellular data turned off, so that may be the issue? I don't know).
I use CM7 on my Nook Color so the interface is more familiar to me than others.
EDIT: At this point, I am unable to use my camera. Don't know why, it was working before using this rom and this kernel. All of sudden, I am unable to use camera, camera app is force closing. I think I will try other roms and see.
Nevermind I figured it out...

I've had the map close issue for ages now ... ever since the first v7 nightlys.
For me it happens when I try to search. Its quite annoying.

I am currently using latest version of Bugless Beast and it certainly is bugless beast!!
Customization is rather limited, but I would rather have a solid working phone which has less customization (I am using GO launcher anyways) than very customizable but flaky rom.
I wonder if cyanogen will update this phone to android 4.0
Hello guys!
Tell me please - are there any working kernels for OG Droid with CM7.1 to overclock CPU?
I've installed Chevys (maybe a little mistake), but after I turn off phone - it drops down CPU speed to 600mhz(

why thank you....alot of work went into it...making sure code was done properly as well as building with gcc 4.8 for rom and sabermod 4.8 for kernel really finely tunes and optimizes the rom just perfectly
Now that it's out into the open!! The best ROM used since forever. Get 16k+ scores on antutu and whatnot. Very stable and have had no raging temperature sores. Definitely the best ROM out there. Period.
Credit goes to R3V3NT3CH for all his hard work and time spent on the development of what might be just one of the best phones with a physical keyboard till date..
You all are awesome.... Glad I can develop for you guys....more goodies to come soon...been spending the last week on prior device I developed for as I promised that community some updates and stuff...

There actually are a few glitches that I'm noticing, now that I've had time to play with the phone. Is there a way to disable certain services / features to get the phone to run a little better? What I'm looking for is something very bare-bones; I don't need any bells or whistles. For example, I've disabled all the animations that I could, but are there any other tips to make the phone a little more responsive?
Another problem is that the phone doesn't want to update to a newer LS, it says "Invalid ROM (liquidd2lte) & device (apexqtmo) combo!"
Any ideas?

the reason it wont update through settings is because although the relay is a d2 variant phone it is not unified for any of the d2 variant updates....hence why for now its unnoficial and not unified or seperately branched on liquids end for updates.....as for wanting something very bare liquid is not meant for this as it has a huge multitude of customizations....try using slimkat and flash my kernel over it and im sure youll find what you are looking for

Hello and thx for the nice ROM, only KITKAT makes my phone useable.
Unfortunately i have some issues.
1. No deep sleep after charging, i have to reboot to resolve that.
(performance menue changes: cpu limit to 1458 on boot)
2. Email only imap and no way for option dont delete from server?
How i change to some kind with no delete from server or better which app work?
(k9 app don't have this option, gmx app have this option but activate the option do exactly nothing,
the mails are still deleted).
3. Gallary don't show photos that took with app Ucam, same if photos send by bluetooth.
I have to reboot to see the photos from the last session (media scanner only scan at boot).
4. TrackID with optical issue, i report a video if nessesary and i inform me about HowTo take a on screen video.
5. No undervolt possible, the performance menue told me my device doesn't support undervolting. Checked that behavior with some tuning tools, same issue. All tweaking tools tells me Kernel doesen't support undervolting so i deinstalled the tools without changes. No worries, i have some uv experience with xperia pro
I installed your new kernel yesterday (B14CK1RD v. 1.1) and repplaced the original one from LiquidSmooth but unfortunately the issues are the same.
Only 1. and 3. are realy important for me.
and again, thx for the nice LiquidSmooth

MonoNX - an experimental Nintendo Switch emulator for Android

Hello there, I've been working on this for a few days and I thought I'd finally show it off!
Please note that there is absolutely no graphics, only console output! Also, it's not very fast (only runs at 15fps on a SD625) and it only runs old homebrew (e.g. first libtransistor tests and such).
Discord support: https://discord.gg/fn8VV9T
Source code: https://github.com/Cyuubi/MonoNX
Credits:
Ryujinx Team - For the base of MonoNX, without them this would not be possible! Show them some love over at their GitHub (https://github.com/Ryujinx/Ryujinx).
Xamarin - For allowing us C# developers to program on Android.
Dr.Hacknik - Logo design.
Requirements:
An ARM64 or 64-bit x86 processor
NOTE: If you get a ROM load error, close out of MonoNX and go into app info and turn on and off storage permissions. This should fix the issue.
App download: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cyuubiapps.mononx
Test ROM download: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1cVa5BDn1w6FNb6QEKmch2m6k67t_q5c_
Interesting, I'll be looking forward this project. Thanks.
Great work , but can't load rom.

Very nice, BUT, I have a very important question.
Do you use on aarch64 target devices dynamic recompilation or you execute directly the code?
If not, would you mind to give an insight?

Sadly, Hypervisors aren't really possible on Android from Xamarin... So we translate ARM64 -> MSIL/CIL -> ARM64, this is quite a hackjob but it works however it kills performance. MonoNX also works on 64-bit x86 processors, so the same thing works for this.
Toggling the storage permission back and forth changes nothing for me.

Hmm, that still sounds though like something that CAN be tackled among the line.
Like what if somebody would switch (no pun intended, hahahaha) the codebase to Firebase?
UPDATE: Apparently it works with under 4GB RAM. (probably using swap though)
Hello, the app force close for me (test rom and snake homebrew). I can not launch anything. I tried turn on and off. Doesn't help.
Here's what I get when I load the test ROM.
EDIT: The emulator closes shortly afterwards. I have a OnePlus 5 with Android 9.0.3.
Hope upcoming updates soon.
Can you support google pixel c? The same soc as switch!
Maybe the adaptation speed will be faster
I hope I can play D3 on my phone soon

Yeah then the games can run natively therefore no need for emulation. I would actually buy a pixel C over a switch if it can work. Also what about nvidia shield tv that can run mario galaxy at 1080p
So? Where we can find roms for this emulator?

Any site to download roms from?
What do you think should be the minimum requirements for an Android device to play resident evil 7 using this emulator, considering RE7 is a cloud game for Nintendo switch?
Also, I found its rom whose size is about 40 MB (YES, 40MB).
Only 3 games playable as I see the base project. Need some time but waiting for D3
