i have no long had my htc 7 pro and have found the the phones volume is to quiet i have turned it up as high as i can get it to go but still find the alarm, ringing and the loud speak volume far to low.
is there a way to make it louder or an app you can get to give the volume an increase?
thanks for any help
The speaker is on the bottom of the device, so if it is laying on the back, it will be muffled. This is the case for me if I'm using it to wake up.
When you're using the alarm to wake you up, you should make sure that you do 2 things.
1. Make sure that you have the phone on a HARD FLAT surface.
2. Also make sure that when you have the phone there and plugged in, that you have the power cord underneath the phone by the speaker so it won't be sitting right on the flat surface and muffle it.
That's what I had to do with mine and it has been a LOT better since I've done those 2 things.

hi, looking for a bit of advice please.
my speakers and microphone were sounding very muffled so i decided to take my phone appart to clean out all the lint and dust that had built up over the past year.
the only problem is that now that i put it back together i have no sounds what so ever. also no vibrate
i have checked in settings etc. to see that all my notifications are on. (they are the same as before i removed the cover).
the only other piece of advice is to say that the volume button on the left hand side also raises no respone from the phone when pressed. it fell out when i pulled it appart but i think i put it back together correctly. it depresses both up and down but nothing happens on the screen
apart from sound and vibration phone works great!
any ideas.... cause otherwise i have just stuffed a perfectly good working phone!!
I am unable to watch a video on the Desktop dock. When I put the Epic into the dock it hits the volume rocker and it then turns the volume to mute. On a couple of occasions I have been able to barely put it in and it will play at what ever volume but once I touch it and mutes it again.
Anyone having a better experience with it?
Thanks

ive got said dock. same issues. totally cuz the volume rocker is hitting the cradle in just the right manner. ive just gotten really good at putting it in at just the right angle to not hit it, but your right. if i touch pretty much anything, it starts to turn the volume down all the way. what i do when im not going to try to have a movie playing is always make sure the screen is off. the dock will turn on the screen about a few seconds after its plugged in. it shouldnt be this big of a pain in the ass and im thinking about taking the dock back. i think its a legitimate reason.

I didn't have any of these problems with mine and was wondering what everyone was talking about.
That is until I took my phone charm off. Apparently the tiny string the charm uses is enough to keep the phone from hitting the volume and causing problems.
That being said, you can control volume, too, through the function and arrow keys on the keyboard. It helps but it is still annoying if you don't have a charm and keep hitting the hardware volume keys.
(My charm is ninja stars, so not all charms are "girly".)
ya. i had an old psp wrist strap on and noticed it kept it from happening too, but the strap is kinda garish and i didnt want it on there all the time. im still on the fence about taking it back.
I put three layers of electrical tape along the right half of the groove, just before it dips down for the volume keys (alas, not down far enough.) It works great for me... since I was going to cover that bright blue light anyway.
Didnt notice it before (only after i played around with the camera manual tapping to focus) but on home screen while tapping on the back and home buttons it causes an vibration. but just now notice that along with the vibration there is a slight "rattling sound" (maybe a lose part, maybe in camera?)
shaking the tablet doesnt affecting the rattling
so far only pressing home and back button causes the rattling.
Does anyone have similar issues?
Any Feedback?
UPDATE: its not the camera, when listening closer i narrow the rattling sound to the top right corner of the tablet. maybe its the vibration motor?
Uh... contents may have shifted during shipping?
You going to return it for a new one or try more extensive tests, like adding feedback to on-screen keyboard presses?

tried the keyboard method and yes its still there...
damn and BB doesnt have any in stock near by...gotta wait for shipping =[
Edit: Read your OP too fast and now realized you said only when it vibrates. Sorry! Guess RMA is the only way to go for something like that.
I've noticed that the volume rocker on the top right rattles when I shake my tablet. Hold the volume rocker lightly and shake it again and you probably won't here any rattling. I thought something was loose internally as well but it simply is the rocker. I don't feel this is a defect but simply a poor design on Asus's part. Hope this helps!
Hello everyone! So when I went to test out the Pixel at a Verizon store, I noticed that the power button felt solidly in place, yet the the volume rocker piece was slightly loose. Later on, I went ahead and bought the Pixel and realized that my buttons were solid. However after only a week of use, I have noticed that while the power button stays in place, the volume rocker wiggles slightly. Is this normal in any of the other Pixel's? Let me know what you think, thanks!

Sure, mine moves a little. It will even rattle if I shake it, but I have to be in a near silent room to hear it. I'm not worried about it in the slightest.
I've had the honor 6x for a while and I just wanted to ask around If anyone else has the shrill/vibration on the phone body with the speaker on? Like when I turn up the volume on a call I can feel the speaker vibration on my hand and it's quite substantial is it normal? Or do I need to get it repaired? Otherwise the phone works fine
You mean only the speaker vibrates with max volume on call?! If so, it is normal.
