[FIX] App-Drawer on MIUI Launcher - Samsung Infuse 4G

After flashing the brilliant MIUI rom, i decided to check out the stock launcher. It is one of the smoothest launchers i've used on my infuse other than Launcher Pro, however i was disappointed to be confronted with a I-Phone like home screen experience where all the apps were hanging around willy nilly! Hence i found a simple solution to the problem and it is only 2 steps .
Instructions:
1.Put all of your apps into a single folder except for the ones that you plan to keep on your home screens.
2.Download Alt Drawer and put it in your dock. This will now be your app drawer!
There you go its as simple as that! The experience is almost identical to other launchers.
However to add an app from the app-drawer, u must close the app drawer and grab it out of your folder where you stock-piled all the other apps.
Hope this helps someone...first thread on XDA hope i dont get yelled at
Here is an implementation of what i'm talking about:
My home screen with alt-drawer being the right most app on my drawer
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
And on this screen you can see alt-drawer when opened up.
Also i forgot to mention earlier, alt-drawer is very very customizble.
You can change lots of settings
(i.e Background transparency, icon size, font size, font color, side-side scrolling/vertical scrolling, hide/show notification, orientation etc)

Glad to see people helping out. nice job bro

no problem

This a handy way to get an app drawer. Ive been running MIUI on my Sony X10 for quite a while now. I typically had put all the apps in the tools folder, but the AltDrawer0.7.1 apk works great.

Does the app have a setting so it could scroll side to side like in Touchwiz?

YES
take a look at the screenshot those are all the options. The style option for me is grid...there is another option called page-page which is horizontal. just get app lol its free anyway

Looks like a nice addition. I was just throwing all my apps in one folder and sticking it on the dock. Works basically the same way, but not as customizable.

Nice, thank you I may just try Miui now because of it my friend lol.

thanks for this man. really helpful. I saw another mod, but not as flexible as this. I hope they implement that app drawer concept that's getting big cred on the miui.us site, but this will due until then if that ever gets implemented

Lag
I notice that sometimes when I open up the App Drawer, a blank screen comes up before the list of programs appear. It can be up to 6-7 secs.
I tried the suggestion of using Titanium to make AppDrawer a system app. Tried to find the app and move it to the other location, but couldn't find it. Will try again.
Any other suggestions?

Answer
Make sure it's on internal memory not sd card. Use Root Explorer and move from
/data/apps to /system/apps.
Works fine after that.
Hope that helps. Kevin

Just one question, is the folder with the apps lying somewhere on another screen not shown in your screen shots?

Awesome, just what I was looking for.

Awesome man, that's perfect. Now I just have to figure out how to get rid of the carrier label altogether . Any ideas? BTW, how'd you change your font?
I use the liberty 1.5 rom, it has a bunch of options for fonts and lets you change the carrier name out to whatever you want. So far its been very stable for me and much quicker than stock.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
Yeah, I saw the font options, but I'm not sure what adding a font does.. for instance, what'd you do in the toolbox that sets the widget font?
And I'm not talking about changing the text, I'd like to find a way to remove that whole bar, 'cause it just takes up space. I think you can do it in stock.. it's called a "roaming banner" i think
Changing the font effects all the text, everything from Widgets to menus to even the text on most websites in the default browser. It even changed the font in my clock widget. As far as removing the carrier label on the notifications I'm not sure how to remove that waste of space. I never looked into it but now since you mentioned it it's bugging me too. Let me know if you do find a way to remove it.

You long press on the home screen and select add widget like you would when adding a widget to the home screen, select widgetsoid then select a switcher widget. Pick the options you want it to have then go to the advanced tab and select both notification and make invisable. Click apply and it should now show up in the notifications bar. If you want to edit it just open widgetsroid and it will be in the widget tab. Hope this helps.

Have you been able to figure out a way to move or resize the clear button yet? I really wish I could move it to the bottom of the notification bar. Better yet, I wish there was an app/widget that automatically cleared all new notifications. Been looking for something like that for months without any luck...

I had that feature in the prior versions. I decided to take it out because it was a bit inconsistent, since the android API post 2.2 (froyo) doesn't garentee the app you're trying to kill will be immediately terminated at your request.

Thanks for the feedback. My primary focus has been on feature completeness, and usability.
For the future updates, I plan to focus on polishing the app, both at the runtime/memory, and at the UI level.
Windows previews is a big one in my todo list. However it's pretty complex, and I'm still trying to get it to work. It's definitely possible though given the amount of screenshot apps in the android market.
Any hints/help regarding how to implement screenshot like functionality is definitely appreciated.

Sorry if its been mentioned already but I got an update from the play store today for adw ex. I must say its quite a significant improvement. The updated ui feels very ICS-ish and works well with some of the ics themes out there.
This will def help me wait a few more days until we get official CM10!

Been using ADW for a long time now on both tablet and phone. Main annoyance on my tablet is the "action bar". If I disable it, or add a gesture to show/hide it, the space it's in is always there. So my top row widgets are never at the top anymore. Also, this morning when playing around with transitions I change the app drawer style to horizontal slide (or something) and made both my devises unresponsive on the the home screens. Phone I couple open settings with the bottom button and change it back from there, and then had to reboot. On my tablet though, had no accessible settings button. Had to use main settings to clear defaults and go back to default launcher, uninstall ADW, and then reload the last titanium backup of it.
Oh, and my phone and tablet homescreens. Tablet is running Thunderstorm Live Wallpaper.

[APP] RAZR M Launcher and Circle Widget

Many of you having been asking me to post some flashable zips of the RAZR M launcher I modded for CSROM.
Well, I finally got off my lazy butt and did it (sorry for the delay!).
The launcher is from a different device (Motorola RAZR M) and different Android version (ICS), so there is a little lag.
But that is a small price to pay for the awesome circle widget!
There are currently two versions available: with and without the persistent search bar.
While I was able to remove the search bar, I have not yet been able to recover the real estate.
Six other apps are installed which are required to make the circle widget fully functional.

Sorry about that. I un-published the app for several hours, because the previous version was unstable in some phones, but know i uploaded a new version, i hope you try it.
So I tried it. Took about 1 minute to load at first. Got about 3 force closes between, selected wait. Finally it loaded, screen transitions were all bugged with black screen between transitions. Great idea but it's terribly buggy all in all. Can we supply you some logs or such? Device used is an s3 i9305 with cm10.1 on it. Other launchers work perfect (nova, next, etc)
Remember when you test new app it can be painful.
I do believe this will be worth the wait.

Please send me the logs and will try to fix all the bugs. The difference between my launcher and the other launchers its that they are a group of developers and im just one. But thanks for your comment.

Keep in mind you should remove any task manager their interfear with w3d launcher.
I have been using this launcher for a day with only minor issues and dev is working on them.
