I haven't seen an option to do that, but newer android releases (tablet) don't have haptic feedback.
Personally, I don't find the vibration feedback comfortable (I used to disable this in my HTC TP2)

some android tablets simply don't have the vibration mechanism .. anyway I was hoping of more unorthodox way.. I know there's no option for that that's why I posted in the hacking forum xD

Hmm... I just use the keyboard click sounds. It might be possible to tweak something to make the routines that normally play the click sounds vibrate the phone instead, though I really don't know about that so don't get your hopes up yet.
Turning the volume up high enough will make my phone vibrate slightly just from the speaker playing the click sound. Not sure that's what you want, though...

I wanted the opposite thing
I don't want my HD7 to vibrate everytime I touch the sensor buttons. But I haven't found a registry key for this, yet.

ahah well I find that annoying too, but typing is easier with haptic feedback..

I love the tick sound when I type, but would love to have haptic feedback when I have my phone on vibrate mode.
Sent from my King LEO using XDA Windows Phone 7 App

anyone found how to disable the haptic feedback from search and back button on Omnia7 ?

Moved to WP7 as not Development
A quick question is a good clue. All questions to WP7 Q&A, as explained in the must read before posting sticky.
Take it easy

iis there any way to turn it off??

Haptic feedback I believe is controlled by the driver.

what is the registry for this??

Stopping 3 button vibrating!!!
If you don't want to feel vibrating back/home/search button while pressing them,
have a look at this post, you will find THE registry key!!!

Haptic Feedback on Fuze

Does anyone know of a cab to enable haptic feedback on the att fuze?
depends on your definition of haptic feedback....
if you just want the phone to vibrate when the screen is pressed, im sure theres gota be something out there... i would be interested in that.
Dont think the fuze supports anything more fancy then that though.... i know some haptic feedback can vibrate just under ur fingure in a specific location, not just the whole phone
yeah was just looking for something to make the screen vibrate when you press it, nothing fancy. tested one out at the att store and plan to buy it in december when my contract is up for renewal, and i thought a little screen vibration would be nice for those quick onscreen keyboard texts
also would like this
I have very, very basic knowledge on this subject- so an expert should correct me if I'm wrong... but I don't think this is as easily possible as you might like.
Basically most taps aren't registered universally throughout the OS and are actually app specific. For example - a tap on an item in File Explorer is read differently (or by a different area of the OS) than a tap on the keyboard.
I know there was a cab for the Hermes that vibrated when you pressed a key on the dialer pad (which was admittedly cool) - so I imagine it would be possible to do the same with the soft keyboard...
But a universal fix is very unlikely.
The XPERIA X1 has an app that does this built-in, so one would think that this would be CAB-able and appliable to the TP.
Please see here for haptic feedback.

HTC Touch Pro(sprint) apps?

Hey guys I have been searching and searching for a few different apps to help increase my productivity on my pro.
First off is there a app or registry hack to make it so when my qwerty keyboard is out the power button is disabled? I keep hitting it while holding the phone and it is buggin the hell out of me.
Second I can't seem to find any option for the backlight on the keyboard when it is out either. The light turns off way to fast i just want it on while the keyboard is out.
Third and final question, is there an app where I can choice a few different ringtones and play them at random for all my calls? I have a lot and can not decide which one I want on ALL the time. If none of these exist anyone willing to make them? I would even donate if someone made this for me. Thanks for the future help.

Vibrating dialer....

Rooted and ran ruu....updated and now I get the annoying vibrate when I hit a number on the dial pad. Seen posts elsewhere about it. Anyone else confirm? Am I missing a setting somewhere? (and yes vibrate is off on typing input) I was pretty sure that when I first got the hero it did not have that feature. If that is how HTC does updates then ewww. If there is no setting someone please remove it in a ROM!

Wow you're right.....! I'll have to look in to removing that for a future release of fresh rom. It was for sure not on there before, but I did post in my thread that changes in the files (even though small) were made to every single stock app.

ok maybe i = nub, but the only vibrating feature i have found on phone and in manual is for the typing input, which is already off. Where is the haptic feedback option? i have looked through every setting at least a dozen times....maybe i just have setting blindness

Settings>Locales & Text> Touch Input>Text Input> Vibrate when typing
That's just the setting for when you use the keyboard. The keypad is different and it wasn't like this pre-update. It's a bit laggy and annoying.
I agree, been anxious to see what/if HTC says anything about the *new* feature....and thanks flipz for takin a look, and other devs for their awesome work on roms!
you can download "Spare Parts" from the market and turn off haptic feedback from there. May or may not help your issue.
Unfortunately spare parts does not disable it...doh
/bump!
With all the juicy ROM talk and requests....since the MR the vibrating dial pad is horrible. #1 on my list for what I am looking for in a ROM.
Any updates on how to disable vibrating dialer???
It is part of the Sprint RUU update. As far as I know there are no manual options to disable it from a user stand point The devs might be able to find a way to disable it im not sure.

Just switched from Blackberry - Please help me to like WP7

Earlier this week, I received a HD7S on non-Mango to replace my Blackberry Torch.
While I like the bigger, better screen of the HD7S and the variety of WP apps (compared to RIM's selection at least), I am not sure, if the WP7 is really suitable for me (yet).
My intention is to use that phone mainly for business purposes.
Perhaps, someone can give me some input on the following items:
How to enable LED notification (email received, etc.)
How to access certain functions quickly rather than having to unlock the phone, finding the setting, etc etc etc (example: mute/unmute, change phone to silent, etc.)
How to increase time-out past 5 minutes max (very cumbersome/dangerous when on call in the car and having to mute/unmute)
Can I setup custom tiles (to bundle certain apps into one tile)?
How to customize notifications per email account (individual ring tone and vibrate)
How to reassign buttons to other functions
Please, I am not a Blackberry fan boy but I really want to like WP7 as I, frankly, have no other choice as this phone has been given to me by my employer.
Any input will be highly appreciated.
BTW: I have tried that force-Mango update for hours and countless times without any luck yet; maybe some of the points above will remedy with Mango?
Thank you!

1. I'm not sure about the HD7S, but the Samsung Focus doesn't have a LED. If the HD7S does, it might be hackable but I can't provide any information about that.
2. There currently isn't any way to change your phone to silent silent, but you can use the volume down button to change your phone to vibrate. I'm also not sure what "other" settings you are talking about.
3. I assume you're talking about the screen, there is probably a registry hack somewhere. A quick search came up with this.
4. I remember reading somewhere about folders, but I can't seem to find it at this moment. I'm also not sure if it would bundle all the live tiles into one.
5. Also not possible on the Focus as of right now.
Sorry I couldn't be much of help, I hope this steers you in the right direction and I hope you fall in love with your new Windows Phone!

There is a LED, which turns red once the battery needs to be charged. I would assume that this LED could be used for other purposes?

I thought that the volume buttons might be an alternative to switch to silent but was hoping for a quicker way.

Thanks again - definitely a starting point. The phone is much more fun than the BB; hopefully Mango or future releases will make it more practical for business purposes as well.

My HTC Mozart has a green/red LED, and with Mango it flashes green when you have a missed call or SMS message. As far as I know it doesn't work with other alerts such as toasts; definietly doesn't do anything for new emails.
Microsoft are taking feature requests online, so you can vote for this feature here:

You can pin the settings tile to the homescreen. Mute can be toggled by pressing either volume rocker, then in the top menu touch the corner that says "ring and vibrate". It'll then become "vibrate" and the icon will change, indicating the phone is on silent.

Thank you very much for the infos!
Which registry editor is recommended for Mango on a HD7S?

App to control phone volume?

I dropped my phone and now the volume buttons rarely works. So is there a app i could use to control the music/call volume?thanks.
Sorry it didnt show the other thread i posted...close this one please.
Volume slider
Yes, there is an app for that, but only if you have a dev-unlock phone
See this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1577919
Don't know of one for fully locked phones.

What about one for call volume? This one is good for master volume but for call volume it doesn't work.
Not aware of any app for in-call volume.
I can see how that might be a problem for you if the volume buttons don't work at all.
Maybe you wanna PM the developer for that app and ask for it to be added?
Alternatively, is it that the volume buttons don't work at all? or do they not work well? You might consider taking off the back cover and trying to improve the contact with the push buttons. (Use small regular screwdriver at 45 degree angle if you have one of those 3 prong screws). Don't know which device you have, but if you check the forum for that phone, many have directions about how to take off back cover (mainly for updating memory card)
Hi,
I have the same problem too. This app works like a charm but not for in-call.
I am not sure if the developer could do something about it.
Unfortunately, because I have less than 10 posts, I am unable to reply in a dev thread.
I have tried to send an email, but not a private message, to the developer and he has not replied so I don't know if he got it or not.
I dont want to email him again cause it would be rude.
Anyone has any idea if it would be possible at least?
Cheers
Hi guys,
No answer to my post
Has anyone the same problem?
Would anyone mind to ask the developer?
Thank you in advance
Ok in case anyone is interested in this:
There is a solution to change the in-call volume manually, it s not an app but it does the job pretty well
