hey i just got a htc sensation from trading with a friends and it has some scratches on the back so i wanted a new one i saw on ebay that was like this
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-Ba...ccessories&hash=item2a151686f2#ht_4450wt_1163
but how ever it's missing a pin right next to the speaker will it work on my tmobile htc sensation USA?
Yes. I believe this pin has something to do with international roaming, but I'm not 100% certain. Some people have death-grip, GPS, and signal issues with the TMOUS Sensation and they found that getting a new back cover without that pin actually HELPS those issues. Based on general consensus the worst case scenario is that you won't notice a difference...or the cover will be fused with an explosive and your phone will blow up. Seriously though, it works.
k thanks a lot pretty happy i traded my g2x for the sensation LOL

My myTouch 4G is falling apart, development is dry and I need a new phone.. I got lucky once by buying a device that once had a ****load of development going on but it's slowed down and dried up so much it's just meh.. I wanna go to another device now, and with MWC right around the corner it's a perfect time, but I'll only want to buy the HTC Ville if people are actually buying it. Is anyone, developer or not, buying HTC's next flagship?
If not... I may just pick up a Sensation
The only thing that would make me buy another phone is if this one brakes and I'm out of warranty.
Sensation had been a great phone but at the same time lots of hardware issues, so it hardware issues will have to annoy me pretty bad to jump ship.
I have been through about 6 Sensations because of dust under screen, dead pixels and bad build quality causing vibration, so if when my warranty runs out which is in April btw, my replacement phone is not up to my standards I'm changing to something else but first I'm going to read reviews and not be early adopter.
My replacement Sensation should be sitting at home and hopefully will be a good one.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App
My next phone will also be HTC. I just love the Sensation, enjoy evey minute of it and having no problem at all(Hardware or Software)
The next flagship will probably be the Edge, a quad-core unit, unlike the Ville which will be an advanced version of the Sensation with a Dual Core processor.

Hi guys!
I'm using a Motorola ATRIX at the moment. I've been offered an exchange with a HTC Sensation 4G.
I've had HTC devices before, the last of them being the EVO 3D. Now... let's get to work.
I hear the only difference between the Sensation and the 4G one is that the 4G version has tri-band 3G (and possible 4G support in the future - I'm not sure & I hardly give a damn). But I take the bootloader, radio and firmware HAVE GOT to be a bit different...
Can anybody shed some light on this? Would the same Sensation radios work on the Sensation 4G? Would the same ROM's that work on the Sensation work on the Sensation 4G, as well?
-----
Oh, the tri-band 3G isn't really something I need. I live in Romania, and dual-band 3G has been enough so far... so if I were to lose tri-band 3G support in non-Sensation 4G ROMs, I wouldn't complain...
-----
Another issue I want to know about is the notorious death grip. I play games that require internet connection (Pocket/Star/Dark Legends, you may know them), so... landscape mode + Wi-Fi = no Internet, lol.
-----
And last thing... Did ICS fix/improve anything on this death rip? Also, perhaps some of you guys bought a case to protect your phone (I know I do - MOMAX iCase Pro, they rock)...?
Well 4g just depends on your networks and where you live. If its the USA and you are on tmobile you'll be able to pick up 4g but I have no idea how long it will take for 4g to spread worldwide.
As for the death grip, you just kind of get used to it and you can still hold it on landscape but just in a slightly different way. Ics would never be able to fix death grip I believe because it is a hardware issue.
There are quite a few good cases out but it's not a Samsung, it won't break easily. Also you can buy a white housing cover for the phone which just makes it look amazing.

Makes sense.
When I had the HTC Desire, I remember how I had to hold the phone with my left hand in order to play Pocket Legends... it wasn't comfortable at all but still doable, lol.
How about the bootloader/radio/ROM part? Or I shouldn't worry about that at all?
Are you going to be rooting your device? If so they have some wonderful information here on that. If not, no to answer your question, those things are involved in rooting. But if you are look at the thread that will explain about that. It will help you understand that process
I think you will be very happy with your sensation! I know I love mine! Good luck to you! Enjoy your new device!

You don't say
If I weren't to root my Android and install a custom ROM every once every two weeks or so, I would've be a retard and bought the shiPhone instead.
I thought the Sensation 4G and Sensation have different drivers etc. (like the EVO 3D - GSM and CDMA). Turns out I was wrong (made some extensive research). It's not necessary anymore, the Sensation that guy had wasn't 4G - dumbass, Vodafone ain't selling 4G units, lol.
This guy's phone had loads of dust under the screen (he advertised it as being barely visible - NOT effing true). You know how a supernovae looks like? Cut it in half and put it in the middle of the screen; each half on each edge on the screen. Spraying dust much? Stupid bas..... got my hopes high.
I also tried to hold the phone in specific ways to test the death grip... It was definetly there, even with 3 different cases on, and I definetly hated it with my guts. Looks like I'm sticking to my ATRIX

If you wanted to ignore the death grip a case is the worst thing you can do. Ever.
It will constantly weaken your signal.
Sorry to hear about the dust, sellers should always be honest

Hi!
I'm about to switch to a newer phone from my beloved (and dead) desire S. I was thinking about buying a Sensation (XE maybe?) instead of a One S (due to battery replaceable and sd card slot). What do you think?
So far i loved HTC and Sense (even if they're so slow in updating SO). I don't feel like moving to Samsung, should I?
I have no main use for the phone: I use it (obviously) for phoning, for games, I changed rom often on Desire S, watch videos (TV series too), listen to music, social networking, e-mails, and so on. Like it was a laptop!
I think you should go ahead for the one s the sensation is getting somewhat old..
I found sense on this phone a little bit slow/laggy however everything else is good except battery life and horrible speaker... And of course death grip.

More cons for Sensation:
The antennas are integrated into the back cover, which is removable. This translates into crappy signal in fringe areas.
Wifi deathgrip is very prominent when covering the top of the phone. Landscape browsing? Better learn to hold your phone with one hand or your fingertips.
I've learned to accept my Sensation's flaws, so I'll live with it until contract is up. But if I was buying something new right now, it definitely wouldn't be a Sensation. Probably jumping to the Samsung side next year.

Its funny how a few ppl are talking about he should get a Samsung. I wouldn't do it. All their phones feel so cheap and flimsy. There is one Samsung I will get and it the galaxy nexus and that's only cause it a nexus, it also helps Google is selling it unlocked for $350. If I was the op I would get that or an amaze. I love the sensation but I know there is alot better out. I know the amaze is only slightly better but for me it has more ram and faster hspa. The one s is very fast but the non removeable battery, amoled and no SD card really kills it for me

Gonna throw this out there right now, it's my reason for NOT getting a One S... My niece got one like three weeks ago... Spilled a TINY bit of water on it and since it has no removable battery, etc.. She dried it IMMEDIATELY, turned it off and placed it in a bag of rice... Worked okay, however, the internal memory was DESTROYED... It would corrupt the system all of the time and so forth, long story short... She ended up having to get it repaired. I will NEVER own a phone without a removable SD and battery now. (She was told by repair that it was damaged because even though she turned it off, since the battery couldn't be taken out there was still a current running through it.)

The "cheapy" feeling of Samung's smartphones is why I was looking for an HTC. I don't feel like spending that money for a plastic device.

I'm gonna tell you this right now, I've got a Sensation 4G and I'm using the XE back with one less antenna and I have had NO death grip issues. I'm not just saying that, I've had the best signal with this phone opposed to any of my others. (Maybe the others were REALLY crappy? Lol.)
Anyway, I just got a replacement Sensation sent out to me from T-Mobile. It'll get here Monday. They offered me the One S for free and I turned it down. (They said I could call back if the new Sensation doesn't work out.) However, I really feel the Sensation will be the phone that I stick with until HTC comes up with something new.
Ganesh, the sensation does have the death grip issue. I've had one for the last 1 year and can confirm that first hand. I just love the phone but a few niggles pointed out by users on this forum like the death grip, horrible battery life etc are very much existent.

The Sensation is a great phone fonpacific, as is the One S. They both have their flaws, all phones do. Personally, I think you'd be better off with the Sensation till HTC comes up with something better that has a removable battery and microsd.
That's the other thing about the One S... I forgot... It's advertised as 16gb but you only get like 7-8 usable for pics/vids/music. (My niece was SO upset about this.) I've got a 64gb card in my phone.

I apologize if there have been threads like this in the past, search is currently down.
I, wondering if the three sensation models' (Sensation, TMO 4G, and XE) are all interchangeable. I'm going to be getting a cracked screen t-mobile sensation tomorrow (if all goes well) and I definitely want the replacement digitizer to be unbranded, or maybe an XE one just to throw in some special flair.
Will that work? I would think so as they're all three the same phone just branded differently, but I just need to be absolute sure before I shell out the cash for a replacement.
Thanks guys!
I've stayed on the Sensation spot if the XDA-Developers forum for quite a while now. I've seen people with Tmo digitizers getting replaced with unbranded ones. Not sure if anybody has done it with the XE digitizers.
You should go take a look at that thread named "Broken digitizer? look here" because it's not a branding issue if I recall correctly but there are specific digitizer models and people had trouble when they happened to get a replacement part but wasn't the same number as that of the broken digitizer.
Good luck :good:
My XE would not work properly with a standard sensation digitizer.

Alright, so I should just go with the standard unbranded?
I don't really like the red keys anyway so that works for me

I wish I had seen the above thread before ordering an unbranded digitizer. I have a Tmo US 4g and I just replaced my digitizer over the weekend with an unbranded one and it's horrible. The phone is barely usable. I have a branded "OEM" one on the way now. Hopefully I have better results with it.
