[Q] Rooting a new Tab - General Questions and Answers

I got a PTCL EVO tab having Qualcomm MSM7627T (Turbo) 800Mhz multicore processor and Adreno 200 GPU.
Detail specs here: "link is not allowed"
While this tab is made by an Indonesian company IVIO and on browsing Android market this tab is recognized as IVIO Tab similar to this
"link is not allowed"
To get more out of this tab I want to go for rooting mainly to run chainfire 3D to run HD games smoothly.
I have tried z4root but that doesnt work. Now to use superoneclick I need its windows 7 drivers. Are their any drivers for a device similar to this one? This device is recognized as Qualcomm HSUSB device in windows-7. Or any alternate method of rooting?
Thanks.

Alternate rooting of method is to use rom manager download it from android market it is best software to root your Android device widout any damage I have Also IVIO ICON DE38 I also root it but i have not its custom rom

Ptcl evo tab (ivio)
Is it possible to upgrade PTCL EVO Tab to gingerbread or honeycomb?
I have been looking around from months but haven't found any solution.
I tried to root it with gingerbread 1.2 but of no use.
Any help??
Thanks,
Yaaver

rom manager doesn't root the device, it in fact requires the device to be rooted.
Anyway, some more information would be useful, what version of android is it? honeycomb of some sort? also is the bootloader locked?

[Q] Unsure how to root Galaxy Tab 2 P3110

Hey Guys,
I've just purchased a Galaxy tab 2 P3110 (7.0) and i would like to root the device, and put Cyanogenmod 10 or 10.1 on it, as this is christmas present for a close relative and want the added features Cyanogen offers. I already have this installed on a Samsung S3.
I've seen quite a few different guides on the forums and other websites, all with differing ways to root the device and install custom ROM, can someone please provide a recommended guide to follow.
Check the 7 tab development thread.
Basically you need to download a program named Odin and use it to flash the proper cwm recovery to your tab. Then you boot that recovery to install the rom. You don't need to root, rooting is only if the rom you use is not rooted, like stock rom etc. You also don't need to unlock the bootloader or anything like that.

Kies is just so that you have the correct usb drivers so that your device is recognized by windows. You can also just install the drivers stand alone or Kies.
get odin and the file from the chainfire topic on the dev section
flash it and voila
quite simple, purchased mine last week and already flashed a lot of things

Hey Guys,
Thanks for all your great help so far.
Not sure if this is applicable but figured i would check before i do it. I've noticed on my device its listed as a P3110, but on a few of the instructions and the CF-AUTO root its listed as model number GT-P3110, from what i have its a plain tab 2, without phone.

yeah we just drop the GT- from the front of the model name as a sorta shorthand the 3 Models for the 7" (not counting the verizon that uses a different model number string) are the GT-P3100, GT-P3110 and GT-P3113 and the 10.1" versions replace the 3 at the beginning with a 5 so they are GT-P5100, GT-P5110 and GT-P5113 they are the same thing whether they have the GT in front or not, its just quicker to not type it out everytime.
BRILLIANT

[Q] Use Cyanogenmod of Galaxy Note for ZTE Blade Q Maxi

Hello,
Is it possible to use the Galaxy Note N7000 version of the Cyanogenmod for ZTE Blade Q Maxi?
Hardware-wise, the only difference I could see is that the Note has a Cortex A9 and the ZTE has a Cortez A7.
I'm assuming that resolution, screen and camera sizes are irrelevant.
I have rooted the phone and have made a back-up of the current firmware to the card (which is Orange bloatware weighing a massive 1.1GB).
Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

I think it's impossible, why don't you search for a custom rom and kernel that are built specially for your device?

Damn...I thought it was just like on the PC
@Ferris Cruiser : As far as custom ROMs for it go, there aren't any at the moment.
Stock Android 4.2.2 has about 450MB. The back-up made with CWM to the zip card is...drum-roll please...1.5GB, because Orange bloatware. I didn't install any apps except something to root it and CWM.
Can I just flash stock Android 4.2.2 on it? I mean, the Google Nexus 4 ROM. Or would that brick it too?
I'm searching for something, anything, any Android version that might work for it because in the Orange branded version you don't have :
Options for calls/keyboard/home-screens etc. It's very very limited.

flashing any rom that is not ment for your phone will brick it, this goes for almost every devices. there are a few phones suck as the (t-mobile)T989 Galaxy s2 and skyrocket galaxy s2 (at&t) are able to flash each others roms with a mod i think, i have yet to try to flash one of their roms. it looks like your phone has almost about stock android, with a new keyboard or a new launcher. got a perfect status bar already. other than that it should look like a nexus 4.

I understand now, thank you very much for your help.
I've done some late-late-night research and was unable to even install Clockwork Mod on it, it still has the basic Android system recover (3e) from Orange.
I will keep on searching for a way to install recovery on it and flash it. The phone is good, the firmware ruins it.
So thank you all once again for your help.

[Jailbreak]Root Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (Verizon- i925) - Root/Jailbreak/Recovery

It's 2016, and I need to know the truth about rooting the I925. I reset it to factory settings and here is what I have:
Model SCH-I925
Android Version = 4.1.2
Kernel Version 3.0.31-1481643
Build # JZ05454K.I925VRAMK1
Hardware Version I925.03
Is is possible to put Cyanogen on this?
I have tried several ways and the only successful way I have rooted it was King Root. But I was never able to get a recovery on there. I used Heimdall, according to the Cyanogen Website, with no success. I really thought CASUAL was the answer, but now I see that it doesn't work with the updated version. I need the pro on here to help me! I really want cyanogen on it! I am a newbie and using Windows on this..
Try the forum for your model .
I too fall into the same category and have not found a definite answer, has the MK1 stumped all who come against it? Or is root and unlocked b/l a trade secret? I have rooted many devices in my past from G1 to EVOs to newer devices and nothing has been more or less unknown around here like this device is....what gives??
What locked bootloader

It's hard to find a good how-to with this one it seems. There are many tutorials but usually for the other variants and not the Verizon one. The ones that seem to be for the right device use apps to install a recovery but the apps don't seem to support this model either.
I guess there is no luck for this tablet at all... I got it for cheap at this point (4 years after its release)! And there doesnt seem to be a way to even downgrade
verizon galaxy note 10.1 sch-i925 ver 4.1.2

So this means there is no fix for Galaxy note 10.1 SCH-I925. Would you happen to know if Casual is available for this model somewhere in this forum. Thanks for your response. mariomr
No sorry no idea .
the only thing that is achieved is to root, unfortunately there is no way to unlock the bootloader to install TWRP
I also found the 4 stock files to recover by odin, but I did not verify it
sorry for my english

Framaroot support for ZTE K85 Grand X View from Bell in Canada

Hello to the developers of this wonderful root tool!
ZTE has released a fantastic Octacore processor tablet with LTE and ot would appear there is no root strategy available for it at this time despite shipping with 5.0.1 stock and being seemingly AOSP based.
It is such a specialized device given to a targeted marked that kingroot tells me only ~340 people have requested root research as well. The tablet is cheap, had full LTE, a great processor, 2 GB of RAM even and 16gb storage and up to 64 GB external. Source code for GPL is available from ZTE upon request (not live yet) - but it's very new. September 2015 new actually... It's birthday is coming up. I'd love to get this thing rooted, and start developing some new ROMs for her to really take full advantage of this wonderful little tablet.
Also to note: I think the bootloader is locked, unlike most ZTE devices or so I've read; in fastboot mode, above the menu, there is a message saying "device is fused" which may be ZTE speak for this.
Anyhow... Any help is appreciated; even if someone knows how to unlock bootloader. At this point twrp and cwm recovery both don't support it, and I can't flash anything that isn't signed. Appears to have been master key patched too.
I too, have a Bell ZTE K85 Grand View X

Hello. I also own a Bell ZTE K85 Tablet. I also would like to be able to root my tablet. This Android 5.0.1 Lollipop crap has to go. This tablet has an Octacore Processor, I wanna be able to take Nougat 7.0 for a test drive. Hell, even Marshmallow, I don't care, I just desperately want to root so bad. This could have been a great tablet, but unfortunately I've never had 1 update in the time I've owned it. So stupid!
UPDATE:
I have rooted this tablet using KingRoot. I am now able to enjoy the wonderful benefits of being rooted. Try it out guys. It worked for me!
Would love to see a root for this device - Lineage OS would also be great!
