[Q] 3.2.2 Stock Rom for Xoom - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone have the Stock Rom 3.2.2 for the Xoom, post 4G LTE update?
My Xoom was being worked on at a Verizon retailer for connectivity issues and somehow managed to be rolled back to 3.2
I Have now completely lost the ability to connect to 3G as well and was given a new SIM card to help remedy the problem so now my Xoom will not activate since the 4G modem is no longer detected. I have put a call into Motorola and I'm supposedly getting a call back next week so they can schedule another RMA for me to send in my tablet. My theory is if I can get 3.2.2 back on the 4G modem will become available and my tablet will be able to re-activate it self.
If anyone can provide me with a stock 3.2.2 Rom something that can be flashed via fastboot would be great.
Thank you for any assistance you can provide.
FYI, I do not want the 3.2.2 rooted Rom that is out there. I want a stock unmodified version.

Dude just root it! Your gonna have to change the LCD density anyway cuz Google changed it on us when they installed 3.2.2. I have been back and fourth with them on the fact that they did it. I can't download apps that I paid for now! They keep trying to tell me to ask the developers for a refund. I have asked motor for the stock imgs, but they said it can't be released right now. They also said they are trying to find out why Google changed the density when it has nothing to do with the 4g upgrade. You have to either send it in which the Verizon idiots downgraded you for what who knows. This could cause an issue for your warranty. Or just root it and save having to ship it out. Right now that is the only 2 options we have.

Just an FYI that if you use the rooted 3.2.2 image you will lose wifi. Its prevalent now in that thread.

So as it stands now I have applied 3.2.2 + Root. It does not appear to be the same Rom that my Xoom shipped with there are a few menus that are either different or missing. I also now have a Xoom that has no 3G, 4G, or WiFi connectivity. I'm on the phone now with Motorola trying to get them to do an RMA on it. I will roll it back to 3.2 before shipping because I can find that posted on Motorola's dev site. That's also the version of ROM my Xoom was showing when I called my case into Motorola.
Let's see how this goes.

AceXMachine has loaded files that can be flashed straight from fastboot without issues.

This did not work either. It looked promising because there was a update that it downloaded after I applied the Rom but then it came back with no 3G/4G and the menu options still look different. The one good thing is that I have WiFi back.
FYI, I went to a Verizon store just a few moments ago and they are stumped as to why my 3G/4G hasn't returned so they are going to warranty replace it. I also have noticed that now when I remove the SIM card it does not do anything. When I first got the Xoom back with the 4G chip if the SIM card was removed it would complain saying no card detected, now it's as if there is no detection happening. Not sure if that piece of information may be significant for someone else having the same problem as me.
Thanks for all your help everyone.

The loaded HLK75C instead of HLK75D at the upgrade depot. What idiots!

That's exactly what's happening to me.... have you figured anything out since?

so basically they sent my xoom into Motorola for repair. When I got it back all was good man and its been working fine ever since. Sorry I can't tell you what the root cause of the problem was.

can't root my honeycomb 4g verizon Xoom tablet
ok so followed these instructions exactly but still says my sd card is not mounted. This is a brand new Verizon 4g honeycomb 3.2.2.
Downloaded the ROM Android-HC-3.2.2-Stock+Rooted-1.1-SOLARNZ.zip and saved to my desktop. connected to computer, copied the downloaded Zip file to SD Card. Did the rest of the instructions, no option to do a backup or nandroid backup it just has 4 options: reboot system now, apply update from usb drive, wipe data/factory rest, and wipe cache partition. i did the factory rest then reboot and attempted to install zip but had no install zip option so i tried selecting 'apply update from usb drive' and that's where i get the error "E:failed to mount /sdcard (no such file or directory)." now people have said to make sure the zip file is on the root of the sd, what does that mean actually? when i opened the sd folder on my pc i copied zip to the sd folder, do i need to create a folder to put the zip in your do i need to unzip the file first. I've tried several times and same result, please help.

I had a similar issue, I had to format my SD card in my PC before my table would see it

[q] wifi "error"

No matter what ROM/Kernel I flash to i loose my WIFI access. When I go into settings/Wifi it just says ERROR. Anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong?
With CM7.0.3.1, I have been using bcblends tinyrcu (available through kernel manager) and leave min/max as is (806max/245min) make sure you wipe cache/dalvik before installing the kernel...
Hope this works for you.

I have a regular evo with this same problem, tried 3 dif kernals, and upteen romflashes.... still have wifi error in settings
still no progress on this, i still have this problem... super gay
I too am getting an "Error" when trying to turn wifi, Logcat says " Wifi Driver missing" have tried rebooting, and flashing another rom. any help?
Well it's probably been said before, but here goes When you flash a new Rom make sure you do a FULL wipe. It's seems trivial, but not doing this can and usually does cause all kinds off issues. Also, you should check your WiFi settings, and make sure they're correct.
Full wipe has been done and what wifi settings are you talking about? phone settings can't be accessed because the phone can't turn wifi "on". is it possible to extract the wifi driver from another shift? i have another one at my disposal. BTW wifi was working a day ago no problem. i havn't flashed a new ROM in months and was on a stock rooted rom.
Have you tried to ruu back to stock to see if you have the same issue? Or nandroid back to a version where it worked?
Sent from my PG06100 using XDA App
yea ruu'd back to froyo, re-rooted and reinstalled updated radios, and am back to gb. any idea where the wifi drivers would be? thanks for the replies.
Have you just tried it from a stock froyo rom? RUU back to 2.2 and just try it from there. It should reflash all the proper radios. Maybe the wifi chip is defective in the phone too. It happened at work to a co-workers playbook.

+1 on that. Also if it was working then not. Something else might be up, are other devices able to connect to that WiFi spot with no issues? It is possible to extract the wifi driver from another SHift. But if you just RUU back to stock it should work. If not somethingelse is definately wrong. To get to the settings: Menu-Settings-Wireless & Networks-Wi-Fi settings-menu-Avanced.
yea went ruu'd back to stock, no dice. wifi just says "error" after "turning on", must be an internal problem. other devices work fine on this point. what would be the steps to extracting the driver from another shift, i have one ready to go.
If you RUU'd back to stock, and it's a still no good. Then you might want to consider getting a replacement if WiFi is really important to you. Especially if you know for sure that other devices can connect, and you cannot on a stock Rom. But you do risk getting an updated Shift. Not a risk worth taking in my eyes. Did you make sure and check all the settings?
Yea all the settings are good, it definitely seems to be an internal problem at this point. I'm weighing the options right now and came close to ruu'ing to gb to see if it solved the problem, but I just couldn't give up root.
only 2 things come to mind on what caused this, i attempted to update to the newest ota htc update over the stock rom, ( i know stupid, got the android + !) and i installed an app to transfer files over wifi.
Wifi isn't too important but I hate the feeling of not having my phone %100.
Same problem here. I just got a wifi-error running the latest shift-deck. The phone was brand new with a bad esn (planning to flash to a different carrier) and was first turned on 8/2/11. so basically 2 weeks turned on. This just happened 2 days ago. Cleared everything and flashed again. Don't know how to RUU or what it is. Anyone want to explain?
Ruu basically puts the phone back as if it were just out of the box. There is a thread somewhere here with the file. Just make sure you get the froyo version, otherwise you won't be able to root.

Installing OTA update file manually

I have not received the OTA update from Verizon on my phone yet. I continue to check for it but the popup screen that says its checking for a new update just disappears and nothing happens. I do not even get the error message that the servers are unavailable. I do not know if something is wrong on my phone with the check new option but im not having a lot of confidence in receiving the update OTA. So I would like to install the update manually through HBOOT and recovery. can somebody please help me through the process? I have downloaded the OTA file onto my computer. Do I need to rename is update.zip or PG05IMG.zip? i have already tired update.zip and i get a operation error and my phone just reboots. I would like to do this without having to wipe my device in the process. My phone is not rooted and is running stock. Thanks in advance for the help.
Unless you want to have random reboots, don't install it. The update doesn't do **** and just causes more problems than it solves.
Where did you download the update from?
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
The random reboots were not related to the update. it was related to the cell towers and network. Myself and others that have installed it are running fine.
You cannot put the update in without losing all phone internal data, such as apps, screen setups, email settings and so fourth..
If you want to install it, download the file and rename it to PG05IMG.zip and put it on the phones memory card(not in any folders).
Power off the phone & then hold volume down and power together at the same time and it will boot into Hboot and see the file and then ask if you want to update. Just follow prompts and you will be fine. Once it gets to the thunderbolt animation screen, it will sit there for a couple of minutes (up to 5) dont panic, just wait and it will boot up.
This will delete all phone internal data and make it like its straight out of the box when it was purchased except it will now have the updated firware and radio. Your sd card will be fine, it shouldnt delete anything off the sd card but always back up the card in case.

So there is no way to do this without having my phone wiped clean? There must be something wrong with my phone with the whole software update process. Everytime I hit the Check new under Software update, the pop up box comes up saying Checking for new Software available now. but after a few seconds, it just disappears and nothing happens. I do not even get a message saying that your phone is up to date or no update is available. Is this normal? This has been doing this since day 1. Has anybody experienced this and is there s fix for it? Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Since when does updating the radio wipe data/cache?
I've flashed multiple radios and it doesn't delete anything.
He is not just wiping the radio, he wants to install the new update maually. If it was just radio, he would be fine.. The update will flash the new radio and new firmware... The firmware part will wipe it
I'm in the exact same situation as the OP, but my phone is running perfectly without the update. I have read a lot of complaints here relating to reboots as well as the gps getting worse. So I plan to avoid the ota like Steve Jobs avoids calories. But I am wondering if not having the update will be an issue when Gingerbread rolls out for the TBolt? I don't want to be left out for that one!

Updating should fix the issue with you getting the manual update to work properly or you can just do a factory reset. Either way you will wipe the data...
There is no way right now to update the phone without wiping, sorry...
If you have your contacts as google contacts, once you sign back into gmail. The phone will verify your account and resync your contacts and redownload any apps (paid & free) that you got from the market... its not that bad really

How does the OTA update not wipe your phone when updating using Check now on your phone?
Curious about this as well. Updating via the menu didn't wipe my phone. My firmware was updated along w/ the radio.

Wondering the same thing here.....
One possible reason for some not receiving update Ota is that verizon may be rolling it out to certin groups of thunderbolts at a time. I know they did this with my original droid. But I could be wrong and have no info to back it up.
Mine popped up asking me to update but i didnt accept cause im rooted

All I can say is if you update throught he verizon notification you will be ok. From what I know, there is something in the package from verizon that puts it as an update and keeps most data and settings. When you flash it any other way, the update part is not seen by the phone, rooted or not rooted.
If you are that worried, wait for the update to show on your phone. Updates usually roll out over 2 weeks in no particular order. Also some others said they had the same issue when they checked for an update but they kept trying it that way and it eventually connected to it.
There really is not more I can say, your options are wait for the over the air update or just flash it now and take a few minutes to setup your phone..

When your rooted and accept an update, it shouldn't install anyway. most roms have it blocked from installing because the signature doesnt match

USB Storage Suddenly Breaking

Not sure what caused this, I crack flash CM nightlies, constantly convert partitions from ext-3 to ext-4 using beta kernels and at some point in between lost the ability for any computer to recognize my phone mounting (both internal and external). Tried three different computers, two different cables, swapped sd cards, reformatting card and nothing... All that happens when plugging into computer is a charge symbol.
My SD card is accessible through file managers and is mounted just fine to phone (accurate storage space). So I took it into Tmobile and they overnight-ed me a new g2x phone which is expected to come Monday. Claimed it was a hardware failure and acknowledged I had a custom rom and to make sure I put the stock one back . The only problem it is impossible to get the stock recovery image and remove root without a computer so I will be sending them a rooted stock rom with custom recovery. Hopefully they don't charge me for it...
Just wish I knew the cause whether or not it was a bad build or human error issue. Hopefully LG or Tmobile dont charge me full price when they see the firmware has been tampered with. I could always format the system with nothing on it so it just sticks on the LG symbol and has no rom to load up i suppose lol
I had to replace my first g2x because of this. No amount of software/external hardware troubleshooting fixed it. Luckily, I got mine at Costco which has a 90 day return policy. Ill try to find the thread I made... same symptoms though.
Also, my issue occurred on stock rom unrooted, so it wasn't the result of phone tinkering.

Yup, this definitely looks like the same issue despite I am rooted and you were stock which is proof to me that it is a defective hardware and not provoked from me tampering with the firmware. Just hope they dont throw a fit when and if they find it rooted with custom recovery image.

Ampe A85 A31S - 0.00kbs, format and factory reset every boot

Hey guys. Forgive my noobity but I could do with some help and might have a unique problem although I dare say someone has had this or similar.
Firstly, after putting a 64GB stick in my tablet the other day, it all went badly wrong. I had done it before with my previous 64GB that had been playing up so I sent it back and got a new one. The new one seems to be where it all went pear shaped. I might add, the 64GB is for my phone really but my phone cam was playing up so I was swapping it over and stuff... anyway the card itself seems fine in my phone.
Anyways... now my ampe tablet is suffering some strange effects that have changed. initially it would not boot up unless I redone it with the official firmware.. but then wouldn't boot up again, unless I did the same thing over and over. then one time it just refused to boot up past the initial boot screen. I gave up for weeks then picked it up again two days ago.
Now I give it the firmware installed using pheonix again and it booted up. Ahh I thought... lets play. Now I plug it into the pc but the pc says I need to format the 5GB internal partition. So I did. I then looked how to fix the fact that the tab still says it has 0.00kbs internal storage in settings. Then after a while it came up saying 5GB so i copied some files onto it.. great. But I still can't install apps as I found when trying to do this tested working fix http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sJlpek6w624
I then read about using android commander to move busybox from xbin to bin in the system folder but mine is already there.
So now I am stuck. I can't test if my tab is rooted for the youtube link fix above although this is what I said to Nayeem on youtube:
================
Hi Nayeem. I'm really struggling with this. At first my tab was staying at the 2nd initial boot up screen after I put in a 64GB SD card. Using pheonix I managed to get it to boot by reinstalling the updated official rom from szampe but every reboot back to square one. I left it alone for weeks and came back to it, reinstalled the factory rom again and now it will boot up everytime but it has factory reset every time. I cant run the apps you supply for some reason. Everytime I have rebooted the tab, and connected back to pc it says I need to format the internal 5GB partition. I don't know if I have rooted it properly as I can't check. The commands you give above, work as it changes the location proven when I 'get' it. I'm really stumped. I'm trying out a method someone said about moving busybox from sys/xbin to sys/bin but it's already there (using android commander) so I am really stumped now. When I format the partition, it allows me to copy files to it.
================
So far I am stuck with boot up being a factory reset and the partition needs formatting and although the tablet seems a little laggy, everything I have tried works including wifi and incoming email alerts after logging into google account for playstore but no apps will install or update. the best warning I get is there is no memory to install anything and Nayeems method of moving the install location to the sd card seems to work but nothing will install still saying NOT INSTALLED when I try.
Sorry for the long winded thing but I am really new to all of this.
My hat is off to you if you read all of this and can offer a solution so i can give this tablet back to the kids.
Do you have an installed recovery
Try installing a recovery and wipe data and cache. If it does not work u have to repartition ur tablet

I am gonna look into this tonight and see what I can find out. I really don't know exactly what I am doing outside of getting pheonix up and sending a standard rom back to it as previously mentioned.
How would I repartition it ? Sounds stupid asking as i can build pcs... just want to make sure I am doing the correct method.

[Q] 4G LTE Not Working

Guys I've tried searching and tried damn near anything I can think of/find here on XDA and other sites.
Over the weekend I got a little sick of my GPS not locking on my Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 SCH-I535. I was running CleanRom 7 and I believe I was on MB1 - I could be wrong on the basebad that I was on.
Anyways, after doing my normal reading to see what the latest and greatest things going on are I decided I wanted to do a complete wipe like I'd done in the past, update to MF1 firmware, update my radio to ML1, then put a fresh install of CleamRom 7 on there.
So I used to did a format of my external SD then a factory wipe/reset & cache wipe in CWR. I then went directly into Odin mode (Home Button/Volume Down/Power) and flashed the root66_VZW_I535VRBMA2.7z from this thread. I installed EzUnlocker and RomManager. I unlocked the phone, then flashed CWR. I first did a factory wipe/reset, I then flashed the MF1 firmware, followed by the ML1 radio, and finally Clean Rom 7.
Everything was fine except my 4G LTE would not turn on - 3G works fine but no 4G LTE. I've tried everything I could possibly think of. I've flashed to the prerooted MA2 linked above in Odin. I've tried the 2-3 suggestions in this thread, I've tried making my own APN settings, I've tried the thread which has links for people who are returning their phone to Verizon (plain jane stock). Nothing. All of those bring me the same result: Everything works perfectly fine, but the 4G LTE never shows up. It doesn't matter where I am - I know it is not a network outtage as people in the office have no issues and I always have a connection here and at home.
I've already ordered a new SIM card which should show up tomorrow but did I miss anything? I tried everything I could think of. As of right now I'm back at square one where I'd gone back to MA2, flashed MF1 + ML2 firmware, and back on Clean Rom 7. Stuck with 3G. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Just Odin flashed the VRALG1 4.0 ICS to bring it back to stock found here in Section 5: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1762709. Still no luck.
Am I correct in saying when flashing that it is also flashing the modem/firmware? I want to make sure I'm not missing anything.
I had the same problem not too long ago. My issue was the PRL usually 4G PRL starts with 15xxx but if you go into settings-->about phone-->status you should check to see whether it is a 15xxx or 3xxxx. If the latter a new sim card should fix it right up.
