Just out of curiosity.. what's the smoothest, best looking gb rom currently available for thunderbolts ? I've been running on a bamf 2.0 remix with a darkhorse theme for a couple months now and haven't checked back for a while. My current rom works smoothly except for a few bugs and since it's been a couple months I thought I'd see if there was anything much better now, worth the time to try out.. thanks!!

Bamf forever 1.0.7 runs very smooth, I highly recommend it
I loaded up Synergy a couple days ago. I haven't noticed a bug yet. Super smooth, looks great, and my battery life is phenomenal! I just noticed they are up to version .264. I'm using 262.
BAMF SoaB v0.713 sense 3.5.

I know its not one of the more popular ones, but I'm running Thunderstick GENII ver. 2.4.2 and absolutely loving it so far. I have tried quite a few GB roms and its one of the smoothest I've tried. Bamf Forever is very nice too, however, so its all a personal preference!

CM7 makes me happy
I've had my TB since launch weekend, and while I've been pretty pleased with it, it's had its fair share of issues (all of which have been well-chronicled in the forums here). Since putting the Cyanogenmod7 ROM on my phone, it's like I've finally gotten the phone I expected when it first came out. Super smooth, fast (I'm OC'd at 1.2Ghz), great battery life (so great that I've stopped using the extended battery and have gone back to the stock one with no trouble getting through a full day), and the customizations are terrific. I especially like the notification bar widgets. It's running GB 2.3.7(!), and I've had working Gtalk Video on the front-facing camera since 2.3.5.
I've had nothing but issues with cm. no 4g, GPS doesn't work but everything else works great. But I need 4g and GPS.
CM7 Makes Me Happy
I had issues with the 7.0 releases, but with 7.1.1 and the latest radios, I've got no trouble at all. You can see from my homescreen image that I've got several bars of 4G signal; that's indoors, and I'm usually getting 7-10Mbps download speeds. It's better outside or in other areas of DC (my home happens to be in a slightly weaker signal area). As for GPS, I've attached a screenshot I took from GPS Test. 219 feet accuracy isn't great, but again, I'm indoors. Outside, I get faster locks, and they're down in the 20-30 foot range. I'm not saying the following applies to you, but I think there are quite a few people that don't understand GPS isn't designed to work indoors. Your device needs to be able to "see" the satellites in order to get quick, accurate locational locks. Anyway, this is my two cents: To sum up, I have great 4G and solid GPS with CM7.1.1.
Where can I find this rom?
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk
You can get it through ROM Manager, or by following this link to the Android Development CM thread, where you can read EVERYTHING you've ever wanted to know about it.

Ironically I decided last night to try the bamf forever but my phone was fubar on a permanent download loop on some files so I wiped it and put the darkhorse rom back on t that I had on the sdcard at the time... Now it won't stay on disk drive mode when connected to my PC and the team bamf forums have been down since last night to get either soab or forever bamf... Lol so now I'm. Stuck back on darkhorse remix till the bamf forums come back up... Grrrrrr!!!

ShiftAOSP for AOSP Rom and my rom for a sense Rom.
how do you run two roms at the same time?
Synergy for me.....the latest build is working awesome for me. Was on bamf soab but the "end call" bug kinda scared me away, other than that it was a good rom. Synergy just works for me

I guess my fav is stock rooted. I'm in bamf now and it has some really nice features but I don't see any big advantage over stock rooted. I'm going to try to give bamf a week b4 I make up my mind though.
I'd love an open source rom but I keep reading about one bug after another. I like everything to just...work.

If I run into either of those bugs I'm back to stock rooted. I went into bamf tools and chose 2.1 lock screen so I hope that will prevent the end call bug.
The sleep of death bug wont bother me too much as long as it is very rare and the phone can be turned on. Sleep of death to brick would be bad

I came from a Droid X and can say that the Thunderbolt is a better phone. I have a few annoyances with it but mainly how it works or doesn't work with Ford Sync. The battery is depressing but I don't want the bulky extended battery. I have Juice Defender on it now and that has helped immensely through the day. I had 54% left on my battery after 8 hours at work with light usage. Before that I was at below 30% after 4 hours. I may still get an extended battery just for when I travel, but this works for me around town.

Google it. You need to go on a BAMF forum. I dont think they post here.
oh, thats what I tried. Ill google it again
in short, what setup would provide best battery life based off experience amongst thunderbolt users?
Start with the SOAB with the stock kernel, so that you have a baseline then you can try Adr's test 3 or Imo's kernel to see if they make much a difference or not.
I don't think you will get a definitive answer without trying each out on your own phone and objectively seeing which one works best for you and your particular phone.
Good luck.
I agree. Ive been around android for three years and what works best for me does not for everyone else. I was looking for an experienced based answer. The bolt I bought already has soab on it.
Gotcha. I'm using SOAB with Adr's test 3 kernel. Works great for me because I can overclock now, but battery life is about the same as it was with the stock package SOAB kernel.
I've been getting great battery life on SoaB, starting with 1.02 and now on 1.03 since it was released and the kernel that comes with it. Prior to that I was using Eaton GTP, the Froyo build, and it gets phenomenal battery life. Can't wait for them to get their Gingerbread build with Sense 3.5.

if you want insane battery life on soab flash the ziggy kernel beta one and set cpu low to the lowest setting andturn off gps and wifi and mobile antennas when not using them. i was getting 2% drop per hour this way. i went from 8 am to 8:30 pm with no charging and still had 72% battery life left also i overclocked to 1.2.
right now i am on miui wich is sick once they fix the mms it will be amazing. but i am using advanced task killer set to automatically kill apps when the screen turns off and green battery to do the same with the wifi and mobile anteannas.

I did a clean install of Weapon. Rebooted and let it sit for 10 minutes. Rebooted again and let it sit. Then I flash New Clip and let it sit for a bit. New Clip flashes over Weapon. Then I flashed my favorite theme. Stayed with the kernel that comes with it. I have never had great luck with alternative kernels and I really have no need for overclocking.
Kwes has an ICS like theme that looks great. Then I added ADW ex and loaded an ICS theme for it. I am very happy with the setup. Been running it this way for several months.

I realized there hasn't been a topic on this for the Skyrocket. After experiencing the bugs on ICS roms I needed to find a rom that will get be as stable as a rock. I am currently using NexusMoD GB 4.3 and I find it to be very good. My battery life on it has been OK not that great. It seems to me that the ICS roms where running just fine for the most part for me, even battery life was decent, but I had weird bugs where I wouldn't receive SMS or Calls, and my texts would say they sent but they wouldn't even actually send. This would happen at random times even though it worked most of the time. Any favorite stable roms guys?
I found the mhx superlight GB release works great and has good battery life.
for me stability and battery mod on status bar were my requirements and mhx achieves both.

For my money, Sky ICS has been extremely good.
I've been using the same ROM you are using. I've found that battery life has been pretty consistent among all the ROMs, which is to say sadly, not very good. It works pretty well overall with just a few hiccups here and there. I have had numerous issues with various ICS ROMs. I tried 3 of them (including SkyICS) and they either didn't run well, or in one case it just plain didn't work at all. That's why I went back to a GB Rom. YMMV but if I were you I'd stick with your ROM until ICS gets a formal release and see what the community does with that.

I know how you feel...Bamf11 would be the perfect rom if not for the insufferable lag. It wears on you. I ran it with IMO kernel oc to 1.4 but it was still laggy. Bamf kernel jammed up my phone.
I think some of the earlier versions have less lags but then you are replacing the lag with some bug. I feel like the developer needed just one more update to speed up an otherwise flawless rom.
I havent tried skyraider yet. I dont like any of the mr4 roms because of various bugs.
My favorite rom is thundershed because it flies but sometimes I miss some of the sense functions...but I dont miss the lag.
Sometimes old roms ARE better than new roms. I prefer mr2 to mr4.
