Nexus Prime and Ice Cream Sandwhich announcment delayed.
Official Statement: "Samsung and Google decide to postpone the new product announcement at CTIA Fall. We agree that it is just not the right time to announce a new product. New date and venue will be shortly announced."
Guess We'll have to wait .

It is probably almost certain that the announcement is delayed, not the actual launch.
yes we know, due Apple loss of its leader
a wise move by Samsung & Google, as the end users are only mourning, no one will care about a shiny new product

It’s coming, tomorrow according to PCMag and T-Mobile CMO Cole Brodman. As with most updates, it will come in waves so not everyone will receive it on the first day.
OFFICIAL PCMAG STATEMENT
An Android 2.2 upgrade for the Samsung Vibrant will roll out to subscribers starting on Jan. 21, T-Mobile's chief marketing officer Cole Brodman confirmed to PCMag today.
The upgrade will come in waves, so not all Vibrant owners will receive it on the first day, Brodman said. But everyone should have it within a few weeks. The Android 2.2 upgrade brings several new features, most notably increased speed. Samsung's delay in updating its flagship phones has been the subject of intense discussion on the Internet over the past week, with many Galaxy S owners expressing anger at Samsung's lack of communication about the delay.
So what was the hold-up? It was purely technical, Brodman said—it wasn't about marketing, payments or sales. Samsung sent its base 2.2 upgrade to T-Mobile in late November, and with the holiday season, it's taken until now for T-Mobile to work out the kinks and integrate its own features.
"It was a quality control and timing issue," Brodman said. "The biggest challenge is integration and customization." In the future, T-Mobile aims to update all of its phones to new versions of Google's Android OS within 3-5 months after Google makes the OS version public, Brodman said. The delay comes from having to integrate manufacturer skins and T-Mobile's own features, such as Wi-Fi calling.
Smartphone users expecting frequent upgrades is "new to us," Brodman said, "and we're going to have to step up and change the way we do things."
US Cellular said recently on Facebook that the Froyo upgrade for its Samsung Mesmerize would come in "March." Verizon, Sprint and AT&T haven't yet given dates for their own Froyo Galaxy S upgrades.
Brodman added that the new, 4G Galaxy S for T-Mobile would probably debut at Mobile World Congress on February 13.

Samsung is a manufacturer which is having the most market shares currently. But, their customer aftermarket support is the worst.
As all of us know, the Galaxy line of devices are so successful today for having a sales of up to millions. The reason for this is from the start of the Galaxy S.It is their flagship phone in 2010, with a sales of about 20 million globally. Now, Samsung have made a decision not to upgrade the Galaxy S to the newset Android 4.0. Source: http://www.samsungtomorrow.com/2043
Translated English page by Sammobile : http://www.sammobile.com/2011/12/22/...nd-galaxy-tab/
Is it a hardware issue? No, it is because they just don't want to upgrade it and wants people to buy their new phones so they can make more money. And even Sony Ericsson done soooo much better than them. They decided to upgrade their whole 2011 Xperia line of devices, even including the 150$ Xperia Mini.
Yes i know that the Galaxy S is an old device, which already exceeded the 18 months of software update. But well, what happens to its other brother? The Galaxy S Super Clear LCD i9003 which launched about the same time as the Galaxy S2, and the Galaxy S Plus which have not even exceeded 6 months, and the recently Galaxy W,what would happen to them? And also, the Galaxy S have so much similarities to the Nexus S, which had its Ice Cream Sandwich update about 1 week ago.
It is a BIG SHAME that Samsung would make this decision, as these devices are still in the 18 months software update timeline. Is the Google's Android Update Alliance dead? Most of us would probably say yes. If Samsung are not gonna rethink this and release the new update for the Galaxy S phones, I would be sure that this is my first and last Samsung phone ever.Samsung is just caring its sales of new devices and its money. My next phone would be only from Google, the Nexus line.
If anyone here would like to see when they paid a lot for their new flagship phone and got unsupported after one year you then you could continue doing the stupid act of supporting samsung.I think Google should be like microsoft, pushing updates themselves to the devices and not letting OEMs do the work, OEMs are all just about money, money and more money.
Anyone can feel free to write their own thoughts here.
IMHO - All manufacturers are the same - Good or Bad, Good and Bad, Bad and Good.
In my experience, if I encounter any issues with any manufacture that is bad, It's just my luck.
I don't understand what the big fuss is about. Simply wait for the developers on these forums to make a AOSP/Android 4.0 rom and you'll be fine. You'll get better support from these forums than any manufacturer could ever provide assuming you're using a phone with a significant development community which obviously the Galaxy S phones possesses. The way I see it my man you have a few simple options: Sit here and cry about it, wait for developers to cook up a rom, or develop your own.
I'd just sit back, relax, and suck it up for a little while longer and see what the brilliant developers can produce brotha.
I agree with OP. Can't say if they are the only one though, but surely one of the worst. As I always say, we are giving our money to the brands/manufacturers, not any devs
can you stop spamming every single forum with this non sense?

Hello guys,
Can anyone post any date of rumored upcoming events in the phones world? For example, talking about Android, is it known when the new Nexus phones are approximately going to be released ? (I know nothing is certain but are there any rumors?) Is there any rumor about the date (not features) of Android 4.2 release?
I know Apple is rumored to hold an event on October 17 for iPad Mini. I just want to know the upcoming events dates of Google and Android OEMs.
Again, I know most of the news are rumors, but I want to know these rumors. Thanks !
I've always preferred Android over iOS because I love customizing my OS and being able to do whatever I want with it. However, one thing that Android manufacturers really needs to sit down and learn from Apple is how to launch a product. I remember watching the iPad 3 launch livestream, they had the exact price, they had the exact time you can start pre-ordering, and they had the exact date it will be released, then they posted a map of Canada with the estimated arrival dates of each city. And when the day arrived, I got a knock on the door and there it was. It was the best ordering experience I've ever had.
Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about my experience with the Galaxy Nexus, Transformer Prime, and now the HTC One. They have all been absolutely terrible experiences. All involved reading post after post of speculation of when the release date is because these billion dollar companies somehow cannot decide when their product will be released.
When will Android manufacturers learn how to launch a product right? Someone should build a machine that automatically launches a missile at companies who launch products without pricing or release dates.

I guess it depends on what a person wants. Apple wants to get existing customers excited to upgrade and buy, buy, buy the newest thing.
Sure, Android has some of that, too, but people have choice even between manufacturers so it's a different environment. Android phone makers don't have the same captive audience. iOS isn't competing with and making last-minute choices dependent on other iOS phone makers.
I'm not looking to get the newest thing at the highest price the moment it comes out, so I don't really care.
It might be nice if companies could do this for their "flagship" devices, but they have a lot more on their plates than Apple does - dealing with the distribution of one new phone every year or so - not dozens.
Most of the release date speculations are from overzealous fans.
Samsung does a good job of advertising, with sales numbers to prove it, honestly I couldn't care less about exact release dates and if I get to see a map depicting delivery routes.
Frankly if people like yourself are so obsessed with device releases you might have a problem. Here in Norway we call that "fritids", transl: spare time issues

Hello all
I ask everyone who has a device from Samsung company not to close the tab and read to the end of this post.
I'll start with the prehistory. My first Android-tablet was Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7. I was incredibly happy because it was a unique device. Screen, build quality, metal, processor and capacious battery. I could not get enough of. I bought it for $ 721. it was in June of last year, I must say he has a birthday coming up.
And just a month later I got an update ice cream sandwich. It was the best firmware, and no matter what that summer, Google released a jelly bean.
Time passed, and Samsung is not going to renew our wonderful tablet to the latest version of android. I was waiting for. My patience ran out in March 2013.
March 7 I began to send in the forums with the topic of the samsung galaxy tab 7.7 messages with calls about the attack of the official pages of Samsung in social networks messages such as "We want Jelly Bean for Galaxy Tab 7.7!!!".
We are bombarded official page Samsung USA, Samsung and Thailand. I want to believe that they have heard our cries and dissatisfaction. And 29 days ago, Samsung launched the upgrade to Jelly Bean for Thailand. And that's it. certainly present in the firmware English language, but what about those who live in the countries of the CIS? Those who know neither Thai nor English language. The same China and Japan!
29 days have passed. and no region except Thailand did not get updated until now. I wrote about this in support of Samsung, the country where I live (Ukraine), but I was told that there is no information about the update, and until.
So my dear friends, and just those who are indifferent to our problem, and in general the problem of updating all Samsung devices, I urge you to attack samsunga page on facebook and other social networks. I think it will suit us more than the banner of
"I hate samsung for that instead of an update for my device, it produces a copy of it with a modified design !!!."
official Samsung Support page on Facebook
official Samsung Thailand page

I will be grateful for the repost of this topic in any topics on xda/social networks
Thanks All
