What it actually does:
This app flashes the specific parts of the device (Bootloader, Recovery, Splash screen, and Radio). It's just a time saver.
The splash screen is the image before the boot animation, if you don't like the white HTC, then change it!

Solid project! I'll be sure to give this a go. Useful tool
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using xda premium
I have a problem. I select Desire HD. So but I can not select the splashscreen to flash it. When I browse a picture there is no file selected. With the older Android Flasher 1.6.1 I have no problem.
I have the same problem as inzaghi75, almost.
I start AndroidFlashe, then choose DesireHD, choose splashscreen/select browse and the select the picture i want for my splash, and hit flash. then the program "stops responding".

I'll find out what's causing it, because it seems to be for your device only.
Sorry about that.

EDIT: Found it, look out for 2.1.0.1 . Sorry guys.
Yeeaah, sorry, still stops responding:S
Edit: Wow, wait. Now i didn't stop, it came up with this message: Error, device not found.
V2.1.0.0 found the device and rebooted it into fastboot.

Not quite sure what this means...
E:Missing bitmap icon_error (Code -7)
Basically means your image was not a png. You just renamed a jpeg or other format image to a png. You have to open it in a photoeditor and save as png if you want to convert.

I've made sure that the image is a .PNG file several times.
Boot1 shows up fine, but boot does not even if I use the same image I used for Boot1.
Re: Recovery Customization Engine version 2.0 - Color,Background,ProgressBar Mod !!!
Hmmm, i have a 32a magic and it works fine. make sure ur file is boot.png and boot1.png in lowercase. make sure its 1.6.2 recovery image of amonra.
32A Magic over this way too. I'm using v1.6.2H without either of the Carebears in the background.
EDIT~I changed the .PNG from 8-bit color to 32-bit color and it is now working. Awesome.
Re: Recovery Customization Engine version 2.0 - Color,Background,ProgressBar Mod !!!
ah yes forgot to mention dont use compressors as they make the pngs 8bitbut in ur case they were already 8bit so cool u figured it out

Wow k so im confused. I dont have the device but i saw the source up on his github and this video and assumed you guys also have a working amon-ra recovery.
So upon further reading, you guys have that step2-windows.bat file to run which loads amonra's recovery ? Any way for those asking, all you have to do is place "any" recovery image under /recovery/old and place 2 images under place-image-here named boot.png and boot1.png and run nocolormod.bat file. If you want to edit the colors by running colormod, make sure the recovery image you place under /recovery/old is amonra's recovery. For how-to help, run the batch file and select "How-to"
please...how to flash recovery image?
...help me please.
Sent from my HTC Desire using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
Hey, im reading up on it. Im reading this and "essentially" he reboots into recovery through fastboot screen and then runs
adb shell nohup /sbin/recovery &
to bring up the menu. I did not realize it was this complicated for desire recovery. I thought its similar to nexus.
As for flashing, in my script i give the option of choosing boot/flash. You can try those, i doubt itll work on desire now tht i think about it.
Daneshm90 for the moment, the recovery for Desire is write protected, we can't change it to another custom recovery, at the moment, we only can launch it from red triangle recovery mode pushing files and using the command that you say.
Simply change the splash screen of your phone.

Requirements:
- At this time only phone's with a resolution of 480x800 will do.
- Remember, in order to flash custom splash screens, you must have s-off which can be obtained using alpharev.
- Before you click the "Push to Phone" button, make sure your device has the USB Debugging feature enabled.
(Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB debugging)
How the magic works:
- This tool will first convert your selected image to the appropriate file format (splash1.img).
- It will then try to reboot your phone using ADB (Command used: adb.exe reboot bootloader).
- While rebooting your phone this tool will start a fastboot session (fastboot.exe flash splash1 splash1.img)
- If the phone is rebooted into the bootloader, it will execute the actual flashing process
- After flashing this tool will reboot your phone once again to finish the whole process (fastboot.exe reboot)

Cool question!
Behind the scenes of this tool I'm doing some fancy conversions to the image.
This results in a flash-able file called splash1.img.
This image is then flashed to splash1 with the command: fastboot flash splash1 splash1.img.
Thing you have to do is create the file splash1.img and incorporate the flashing procedure into your update script.
I don't have any experience in that procedure, but going to try it out.
It should work, others have done this before.
Will be back for this one
For now, take a look at this thread.
It should make some things clear for you I think.

Do you have S-OFF?
Yes I have S-OFF. I'm trying to restore my splash screen to the original one (I'm currently having the alpharev joker)
It works!! finally i can get rid of the joker!!
Amazing.
Just suggest reduce a little bit the Window. The button isn't showed in 1280x800 correctly
And please, add the information about, WHEN click on PUSH TO PHONE (HBOOT,FASTBOOT,Charge Only with debug...)
Regards and thank you
This is in the General section so does it work with OTHER phones, my screen res isnt the one specified, do i still need S OFF or is that for HTC phones?
If it doesnt work for any other phones can we get it moved to the HTC section?

It will work for other phones as well, as long as the resolution is 480x800 (for now) and you have S-OFF.
Will be working on compatibility for other resolution soon.

Looking again into the compatibility it indeed seems to only work on HTC devices.
Seems like S-Off is a htc thing.
Hope someone with a galaxy S phone can test this, don't know if flashing is a problem.
If that's the case I would have to take a different approach.
My aim is to make it device independent.

People around me are calling me stupid, not adding a donate button to my apps.
To me its nothing more than cluttering the UI, distracting you from things that ARE important.
If people really want to donate, they can do so on this forum.
Have added a celebrate link to my signature, think it should be enough

This sometimes happens to me to, temporary workaround to this could be: close the app and try again.
Has something to do with kicking off adb the first time.
It just hangs, but when you try it the second time it should be already running in the background.
I'm currently rebuilding the whole app, upcoming release would fix it, but for now, try it a second time
You should try to make a version that can do an animation splash screen, that'd be awesome. Its still a cool app though.

I really dislike typing out ADB commands. I'm sure some of you feel the same. This program combines some of the most common tasks we perform with ADB and automates them for you.
Where is Recovery Flasher?
All the features are built into this program. I have decided to expand this program's functionality.
Features Explained
Flash ROM - Place a ROM in the 'ROM' folder renamed rom.zip. Hit enter and the zip will get flashed to your phone automatically
Flash Recovery - Will help you flash a recovery to your phone. For the Optimus V users, it will help you install all the needed drivers as well as obtain root privileges. Optimus T, S, and One phones will be able to flash a recovery.
Wipe dalvik-cache - Self explanatory .
Mount /system r/w - Allows read/write access to /system
Push ROM to SD card - Self explanatory (pushes to root of sd)
Push framework-res.apk - Pushes framework-res.apk to /framework, wipes dalvik-cache, and reboots the phone for you.
Push bootanimation.zip - Will remove boot animation and replace with one of your choice. (removes from /data/local as well as /system/media)
Reboot - Reboot
Reboot into Recovery - Obv.
Recoveries
CWMA v1.2518.4 for V and S
drellisdee's Recovery for T and One (thread with dl link will open automatically)
Recovery Instructions
- Download
- Unzip the folder somewhere (desktop is easy)
- Double click RecoveryFlasher.exe
- Choose 'flash recovery'
- Place your phone in debug mode >setting>applications>development>USB debugging
- Choose what you want to do
- Follow the prompts and hit "any" key when told
- Your phone will reboot into the recovery for you, and from there you can mount your sdcard and transfer a new ROM to flash. Or even easier, use the new "Flash ROM to phone" feature
You're responsible for your own actions Mr. Sister

FAQ
Can I use this with a different recovery?
-Yes. Any recovery can be used for the supported devices.
-To use an alternate recovery for the V or S, rename the new recovery to vrecovery.img and replace the 'vrecovery.img' included with the new one.
-For the Optimus One, the recovery needs to be named grecovery.img.
I don't understand the version numbers. Why did some numbers get skipped?
-First digit represents a huge change. Second represents new features. Third represents a bug fix
-2.3.1 = Second huge update with 3 feature revisions and one bug fix

This is a great program! I'm surprised nobody else has jumped on this. It's nice not to have to ADB the hell out of your phone.

I think ROM Manager from the market supports the Desire.

You need to have root privileges to use that option. Have you rooted yet?

This will be very useful! Thanks!
Run to galaxy 3?
Hi, is this meant specifically for the LG line of phones? Or any brand?
this will help when someone steals your keyboard or cuts off your fingers. or both.
i sense the end of all the thousands of adb for noobs threads.
Dual boot HD2
Are there any similar tools out there for 'winmo'? would be great to be able to this on both my devices.
Hey mmmark, looks like my bump got your thread noticed. You were featured on the main page of XDA yesterday!

Bump. I'm using a Galaxy S. Will this work with any android? It's unclear from the original post. I have the android samsung drivers and the android sdk installed.
This thread will show you how to do a couple things.
a) Install a custom boot animation.
b) Randomize your boot animation so each time you reboot, you get a different boot animation (only available with pro version of the app I use).
I'll be updating the thread every few days with new animations until I get a pretty good library. If I'm really super motivated, I might accept boot animation requests. Otherwise, all you need is the boot animation factory linked at the bottom of this thread.
REQUIREMENTS:
-You need to be rooted.
-You need an unlocked bootloader (only if AT&T or Verizon).
-You need a kernel that supports custom boot animation (Faux, Ktoonsez, any AOSP kernel - I'm currently using SlimBean 5.6).
-You *might need to have an AOSP ROM. I have not tried stock rooted TouchWiz yet.
Okay, here's how you do custom boot animations!!!
1) Install ROM Toolbox Lite (consider upgrading to the pro version).
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wyLDEsImNvbS5qcnVtbXkubGliZXJ0eS50b29sYm94Il0.
*Note, there are other ways to install boot animations, but those methods are not supported in this thread.
2) Copy the boot animation file(s) to your internal or external SD card. It doesn't matter which. Nor does it matter what folder you put them into.
3) Open ROM Toolbox Lite:
4) Close out of the disclaimer:
5) From the main menu, just swipe your finger to scroll to the right:
6) Now you're at the Interface tab. Click on Boot Animations:
7) You can click on "later" to not upgrade. But I do recommend upgrading. This is a VERY cool app:
8) Click "OK" to the disclaimer:
9) From the "Server" tab, you can download boot animations. But you don't want to, because none of them are 1080x1920 and will look "small" on your screen:
10) Instead, swipe to the right so you an view the "Randomize" tab. Read the info if you like:
11) Now swipe to the left to the "Local" tab. And navigate to the folder where you stored your boot animations that you have downloaded from this thread:
INSTALLING A SINGLE BOOT ANIMATION FROM THE FREE VERSION OF ROM TOOLBOX:
1) Single-click on any boot animation you see in this folder:
2) Click on "Install".
3) Reboot phone and on the first (OR SECOND) reboot, you should see your boot animation and it should fill the 1080x1920 screen.
INSTALLING RANDOM BOOT ANIMATIONS IF YOU UPGRADED TO THE PRO VERSION OF ROM TOOLBOX:
1) At the "Randomize" tab, move the sider to the "On" position (top right of screen):
2) Swipe left to the "Local" tab:
3) Single-click a boot animation and select the "Add to randomizer" option (repeat for each boot animation you want):
4) If you're on the free version of ROM Toolbox, you'll be prompted to upgrade. Select either "Unlock boot randomizer" or "ROM Toolbox Pro". The Pro version is more expensive, but it unlocks every option the app has. And there are lots of cool options. Choice is up to you:
5) Since I already paid for the pro version, I installed that:
6) Now click on "open":
7) Go through the steps again and grant Root Permissions when prompted (your Superuser request may be different looking than mine):
8) Ignore the disclaimer:
9) When you finish adding boot animations to the randomizer, your "Randomize" tab will look similar to this. Now you're ready to reboot over and over and over and enjoy all your new boot animations!
Thank you to JaeKar99 for creating or sourcing all the boot animations that I modified to work in 1080x1920 resolution for our Galaxy S4 phones.

Thank you to jsho31 on XDA for pointing me to ROM Toolbox (which I already had but didn't realize it had the boot animation randomizer - which is awesome!)

Well, nobody is going to help you if you don't give more info than "it doesn't work".

Hey, you're right. I just checked and it looks like speedo, spyro and warpvortexr are all corrupted files. I'll re-do them in the next couple-days and re-upload.
This was posted in another thread...

Not working for you?
Finally found the solution in a thread by anbech, go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1897969
Use the CWM_CustomBootanimation_421_Enable.zip. It's for the S3, but works fine on the S4.
Just because the kernel supports it doesn't mean the system does. This flashes the file "bootanimation" to the /system/bin folder. That file is already there, so I made a copy of the existing one before overwriting it with this (just in case).
I'm not using ROM Toolbox, I just copy my animation (bootanimation.zip) to the /system/media folder since I don't change it often, but it should work.
The link above also has a good tutorial on making boot animations.
By the way, I'm using agat's kernel.
