i just thought i would ask if anyone had the BBM for android yet?
So far I've not heard any news that there is a BBM (actually) for Android. I feel like this would have been huge news globally.

RIM uses their own servers so I would expect they use their own encryption that only their mobile devices have the key's for to access... aka its one of the perks of having a blackberry... seems senseless that they would just let anyone use it...

Had it on my Windows Mobile devices so it can be done with phones other than BB.
Only if this was possible if it doesnt come out officiallly sooner or later someone will port a rev of it up just like they used to do back in the.day for msn

Hmm, I doubt it would ever be unofficially ported as it uses encrypted bbm signals. Which unfortunately we don't have the key for.

Not the bbm app. Tried it last night. It doesn't add bbm pins and the pin this app generates for you is more digits than bbm pin.

Giving this a try. Interface is good. I am using a nexus one with froyo. I will come back to report how well it works.
EDIT: This is great! It takes some getting used to and is beta status but from what I have been able to do with it was fun! I chatted between another Nexus1 and a Moto Droid. Totally awesome during Mario Kart to hassle the other team. =p
This app is crazy,works perfect between my N1 and my wifes MT3G,now I don't know if is using minutes,messages or what.I need to find out,If somebody knows let me know.

And when I tap on it, it takes me to one of those freeipad websites. I opened up TasKiller to see if there are any apps open that seem unfamiliar, but I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. I also tried googling for it, but found nothing. Does anyone know what this is, or how I would go about finding out what it is?

did you change your DPI? if its not set to 240 then the market will think your a tablet.

Its a third party app. It cant integrate with system apps unless implemented in a ROM. Thats why you dont have support for alarms, calendars etc

i didnt see it in the market because i was using a rom with a modem that is not official.
just changed the modem name to the latest official in build.prop
and there it is in the market again, along with a few app updates

What about using Market unlocker to change market region to US, download app and then change back to your local market?
Steam friends app for Android, for mobile chatting with friends on Valve's Steam platform.
I've released version 1.1 yesterday, after a fail with the certificates used for signing the apk. Some people have reported issues with the new version, stating the app claims to be incompatible with their phones.
Now on my phone it still works, I think it might have something to do with the previous version still being installed on the phone. So I recommend removing any previous versions before installing.
You can find the app by searching for 'Steam Droid Chat' on the Android Market. It's the one with the green logo (there's another app with a similar name, please note that my app is free).
The source is available at GitHub, I'll post a link as soon as I'm allowed to do so.
Please let me know what you think and if you encounter any bugs.
Edit: I noticed the title is incorrect, I'm sorry for that, could a moderator change it? It's an app and the minimum Android version is 2.2.

Well, I used a library for that. Search bitbucket for SteamRE, run by VoiDeD.
So I didn't actually do any Steam related code in the app.
I guess this question will arise sooner or later so let's get this out of the way:
How is our login info treated? Where is it sent and how? My Steam account is quite valuable and I'm not taking any chances with it.

i have tested on Xperia Mini Pro using Carbon Rom v4.2.2...took a bit of time to set it up due to slow internet but it works....
for first time user after you have setup your account for the first time, please confirm your email before you continue...if you didn't confirm your email this you might get stuck on "Setting Up BBM" for a very-very long time....
i also need tester for other devices to confirm whether is working or not....any feedback will be welcome....

this is a leaked version...it may not working on some devices...that is way i ask you guys to give feedback...until BBM is officially launch, this is the closest BBM app you can try....
did some research, wont let you past the setup page unless youre whitelisted by the blackberry servers. Seemingly the app wont communicate wit the servers and wont let you actually log in and set it up, so its kinda useless at this point, but still cool to see that we are getting close to a release. I hope it does come friday
