[EPIC PROBLEM] New Market FORCED UPDATE to 3.1.5 - Xperia Play Themes and Apps

The old market was super fine! Then lately they force-updated mine to 3.1.5.
Is it really that effin' SLOW!?!? With a fast Wi-Fi it takes one page 1-3 minutes to load, and My Apps takes 2-5 minutes to load!!!
Anyone having the same issue? And solutions please?
I also wanted the new update as it looks really sexy, but hell I don't it to be that super slow.
For now I have frozen Market Updater and reverted back to the old Market. It is really a lot FASTER!

Im on 3.1.5.
I just checked this out. it is a bit longer to load but still loads for me within about 5 seconds and when i go to "my apps" its almost instant.

Have you tried rebooting since the update?
Sent from my R800x using XDA App

of course pal.. what's weird though is that it also happens on my sister's Galaxy Ace..
old market works better, it's really fast.. i still can live with the old market though.. i only wanted the new one's sexy looks..

I'm on 3.1.5, and I don't have the slowness you are talking about...in fact its pretty fast(on 3G).

you can find the old market APK,and delete the market updater APK.

yes i just did that cat that's why my market is running fine and super fast again.. but i cant live like this forever..

Weird, the new one works fine here.

Quite a lot of people are preferring the old to the new, mainly because of the speed, which for me is also visibly slower.
Sent from my LT15i using XDA App

Not only is it slower as in running less fluidly, it is so poorly designed with the whole tile crap and the million of different tabs (totally unsuited for a phone) that using it is less intuitive as well. I truly hope they update this away.

Yeah, new market is wank, i froze market updater too.
I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than use the update. Showed none of my apps.

Here is a wild, out of the blue idea. I didn't see anybody say (I might be blind though) to clear all of the Market data and caches from the app (using Titanium or even just the app management subsystem). Could clearing that after an upgrade, then re-attatching it to your Google account possibly fix your issue. First load would be slow then normal after that. Are you running the dalvik to /cache "fix"? That could also be affecting it.
The new market is actually _FASTER_ than the old market for me. However I'm in the US on the Verizon model (with VZW bloatware frozen or removed)

i'll keep experimenting though.. the problem seems to have become random now after many reboots and install/uninstall/reinstall of updates.. jeez what a mess..
though launching it became faster (maybe probably because of cache), bringing up the My Apps window still takes time..
i only have like 32 apps installed..

Just installed
Ooops sorry wrong thread. I also have slowness after the update on my SE Xperia Play. I've even tried the suggestion from the previous poster and power cycled the phone, cleared the cache, etc. Still slow.

yes i have had probs with the new market aswell
really slow at first to load,
then when i went into my apps in the menu to see if there were any updates
it takes ages sometimes,
then when i do update some apps later on inthe same day or then next day
i check for any updates and it says there some more updates for the apps i just updated i think great another update ... but its just the same one as i did before
but it thinks that i need to update still?
load of crap imo

additionally, just noticed the other day that simultaneous update on multiple apps seem to be impossible.. even after pressing UPDATE on the My Apps window, other apps won't be updating unless the first app is done updating..

That new market is a slow ugly huge pile of ****.
Even the green market was bad compared to the simple original market from the 1;x and early 2.x Android days.
Each new version is worse than the previous one.

These days it's much more comfortable to browse from the computer and have things installed remotely. The Web market works much better. If they made it a Chrome app I'd be all over it.

Viewsonic G tablet (new UI dropped today)

FYI anyone that is running the stock UI on there G tablet viewsonic just dropped there new UI
Just got the notification that the update is available, and am downloading it! Yeah! Excited as all get out over this! Anything would be better than the previous version. Christmas came early.
Post some pics or videos..
Got it. Installed it. Works
Biggest noticeable change is of course that you can switch to a more stock looking UI by pressing 'Classic Home' in the Tn'T App Drawer and from then on it will stay there unless you go back to the layered one.
It's the 5 screens by default and I've found no way to add any to that. The options/settings haven't seemed to change any.
Second big change is that you can use Live Wallpapers now (yay!). I haven't noticed an obvious speed boost in the Tn'T UI we're used to - but the Android-like UI is on par with Launcher Pro. Suffice it to say, Fast/Quick and very responsive. I MAY remove Launcher Pro now since this is doing what I want it to do so far - though the customizable launch buttons are preferable.
These are just the obvious differences. I'm sure there's more going on under the hood that the devs will pick up on quickly.
This is def. now usable out of the box - as long as the customer knows that can switch to the Android-like UI by hitting Classic Home.
got it and...
I got the update. Took two tries to install. On reboot it asked if I wanted launcherpro or thrtzpntap as home. Added background image. The releasenote said it included angrybirds but I had that installed. Didn't change the calibration fix that I applied so still responsive. Market is gone so I need to reinstall. Settings still doesn't give access to all of the settings you get on android. Haven't checked if you can move apps to SD.
They did qsome stuff but not enough if you want android.
I entered this from the tzblet
I loaded the 3389 that came out today (12/23) and gave it a test drive around the block. I like the "classic" launcher. I got a FC on the weather app even though I wiped cache and user data prior to loading the update. It does replace recovery, so if you have Clockworkmod, be aware it unloads that. Unlike 3316, this version does not install angrybirds. The main concerns I would have if I were stuck using this would be the inability for the calendar to sync with my Google calendar. I am headed back to TNT Lite now.

if someone could pop a little screenshot on here, it'd be awesome. i'm on VEGAn beta4 and i'm not exactly in the mood to have to reinstall all of my stuff unless it's truly worth it. They need to fix the weather app so it can go outside the US though.... I would say stay with that unless you're having issues. This update makes it usable but I wouldn't say it necessarily improves the speed over what I've seen from VegaN and TnT Lite etc. It just makes it so people won't HAVE to root, put a new ROM etc.
I'm noticing a definite slow down after time, which did not happen with the older 3053 so I'm not sure what's up. It's not a terrible slowdown, but when you initially start or for example, use Launcher Pro - and head into the App Drawer, scrolling is seamless and instant, and with this new ROM after some time of the device being idle, slight lag seems to be introduced. Now, as I mention it's not world ending, but it never happened before soooo I may be heading to TnT lite myself. In the end, is it enough to move from a fast, working ROM? I don't think so. But it at least makes the device worthwhile right out of the box.
BTW to someone who said it does NOT come with Angry birds - that's not exactly correct. I did not have Angry birds installed. I went from 3053 to the one released this evening and I have Angry Birds on there now.
UPDATE: No longer experiencing the slowdown. The only thing I've done differently is 1. charge it up - it was at roughly 20% or so when I noticed the lag (in reality that was probably around 5-10% battery charge left)...and 2. I installed the Google Apps and Market.
Downloading the new update now (2am Christmas Eve) I can't wait to see how this new update helps my tablet!
I"m so glad to hear all these good things about the new update, I really! cant wait to get my very own to test out every thing... as soon as anyone has time please do a update review on the tablet with the new update..

Market app display

I am curious - why is the Android Market app display all wonky? The reviews and star ratings are truncated regardless of which orientation i hold the g-tab.
Most android apps deal fine with all the different screen sizes, but this one doesn't. Maybe this APK was pulled from a device with a fixed resolution?
I am running the TNT enhancement pack V3.
It is a known issue. Vegan does not have this problem, but it's most likely the market not liking that tnt bar up top....maybe
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
My Market comes out okay. I'm running TNT-Lite and it works fine.
Except, that 1-half-star is there on all reviews and all apps. Makes it kind of hard to see what the ratings are like (but, AppBrain works fine for that).
Other than that, and sometimes the Market doesn't even load (doesn't make me do the fix again, it just comes up saying it couldn't load and then I hit the retry button and it works fine for the most time).

I have never had the market not load - but the display of the 1/2 star and description formatting is what I was talking about - so you do have the display problem I started the thread about.

I'm just confused, after now rooting & running TNT-Lite why the Market has virtually none of the apps I want/need. Titanium Back-up, Shop Savvy (really just want to scan barcodes for apps), other things like I have on my Nexus One phone.
Clearly it's better than the Market imposter that came on this tab....but doesn't seem right. Is it because tablets don't yet have the ability to have such apps? Or, is this Market also an imposter.

The stars being cut off is a known issue in stock and tnt lite

my experience with tweaking the stock rom to perform properly

personally, i happen to like the stock ui of this phone, so i didnt want to flash a custom rom or anything like that. i kept searching for different ways to improve performance and limit bugginess, and here is what i have come up with. first, root is a must for this phone. so is cwm recovery. the first thing i did was boot into cwm recovery and run fix permissions. this stopped the constant rebooting, but i was still experiencing the vibrating and force closing problem. i began deleting bloatware apps that i wasnt using. i installed an app called total commander for android, which has many different wonderful functions, one of which is mounting any partition as r/w. when you are done modifying a partition, you can also mount it back to r/o. so i removed most of tmobiles and samsungs bloatware apps, such as device carbon, zipwhip, telenav, group texting, qwik video chat, twitter, myspace, swype, and maybe a few i cant remember. each time i deleted system apps, i went back to cwm and fixed permissions again. now so there is no confusion, i didnt fix permissions after deleting every single app. say i would delete five or six apps, when i was done deleting them all, i would fix permissions. the reason for this is that i found that after deleting system apps, the system would still have permssions stored for those apps, and i believe this caused system errors similar to registry errors in windows. so, after deleting most unneccessary system apps, i saw more improvements, but there was still a bit of buginess. i was looking for something on google one day when i ran across a forum for the samsung vibrant where a member had issues with the same buzzing and force closing i had experienced. it was a buzz, a pause, then buzz-buzz-buzz. another member revealed that there were three main causes of this issue, which were androids native gmail client, wifi, and the stock android browser. i dont use wifi, but i got rid of the android browser and gmail client. i installed a third party email client from the market called maildroid, and use opera mobile as my default browser. i havent had any more problems except with two apps. one is slacker radio which is embedded in the media room app. it froze my phone every time i tried to load it. not a big loss, since i dont use it. just cant delete it without deleting media room and i use media room as my music player. but it still works fine as long as i dont open slacker. the other one is media hub. also froze my phone every time i opened it. not a big loss there either since i download most of my music from free sites. i deleted it. the only time i have force closes is when in settings i accidentally hit drivesmart, and thats because i deleted the drivesmart app. so im on stock ui and no crashes, freezes, lags or force closes. been about a week since my last unexplained crash. this might not work for everyone, but it might be a start.
If any of this does help anyone out there who wants to stay on the stock rom, feel free to reply or hit the thanks button
This does help me, but I think I'll wait for the back to basics rom, see how that goes.

oh yeah i gut all Samsung and t-mobile aps from my phone, but i use custom roms as well. I havn-t had a force-close in over a week and the last one i had was with the stock browser.
ive uninstalled
gallary
browser
tmobile carbon
and all unused aps drivesmart ect.
I havent had a problem with gallery. I use it to view my pictures. the gallery on this phone is quite nice compared to my last phone.
yeah mine kept freezing, not sure why so i said enough is enough and i dont really use it too much
Good info, but can I make a request?
It is harder than you know what to read!
PLEASE edit the OP to have paragraphs!
Android's gallery is a joke. Download Quickpic.
I suggest PowerAmp over the stock music player.
Another source of issues is the TouchWiz launcher. Nix it.
That just leaves Google Maps. Unfortunately, there are no good alternatives...
I personally havent had any problems with any other apps. i like the stock apps that i actually use, such as gallery, the stock music player, google maps, and TouchWiz. A lot of people bash the TW launcher, but i really dont think its the problem. i dont have any problems with it at all. i have tried other launchers, but i end up ditching them because they are larger than the stock launcher and use more RAM. i avoid using 3rd party apps over stock apps unless absolutely necessary, as in the case of gmail and android browser. getting rid of those apps stopped the buzzing and force closing for me. the reason i avoid using 3rd party apps over stock apps is because they take up space and sometimes use more ram. the TW launcher is actually quite small compared to other launchers, being only a few kb in size where other launchers are on average 2 to 5 mb. the most recent launcher i tried was WP7 launcher, which imitates the windows 7 ui. i liked it, but google navigation froze in that launcher. back to stock launcher, and navigation worked fine again. i know that i personally dont have any problems with TW launcher, gallery, or the stock music player, and i like all of them.
Meh.
The gallery takes forever and depends on the media scanner. Quickpic starts up faster shuts completely down when it's finished.
As for memory, 3rd party launchers play very nice with the system and let go of their resources when the OS asks them to. Can't say the same thing for TouchWiz.
You'll also want to run Voodoo sound and the PowerVR plug in from Chainfire.
Of course, you're free to do any slow thing you want with your device. It just won't perform as well as it could.
you are completely free to have your own opinions. but in my experience, im not having problems with the stock apps. in fact, i reinstalled the stock browser and gmail and still no problems. my phone works fine for the way i use it. you may use your phone in different ways or for different things than i do, so 3rd party solutions may be necessary for you. im not having any problems with my phone, so they arent necessary for me. you keep saying oh you'll want to do this or you'll want to do that. maybe you need all these 3rd party apps because you dont know how to manage your stock apps. almost every time i am finished doing anything with my phone, i go to task manager, exit all apps, and hit clear memory. every couple of days, i clear my app cache. i use optimize android toolbox for that. i dont even reboot my phone on a daily basis, and still, no problems. no lags, freezes, force closes, crashes, or random reboots. not a single one. i would say thats top performance in my book. now, enough said.
i feel like you two are going at it, you both have your own opinions, i side with the stock apps being poorly written and potentially causing issues. Im using gallary again because i like how it pulls pics from online, but for the browser i use opera mini just because i like the layout better (no hate towards the stock one)
I remove every apk that is not needed for what i do with my phone, including blutooth and some others that ive discovered do not inhibit the functioning of the device. This is all because im just a huge nerd with OCD and like to play around with things and have them running as clutter free as possible. Remember guys this is why we all use android, so we have the freedom to customize the device to our own needs.
i just want to say one more thing. when i started this thread, the information in my OP wasnt intended to be a guide for getting this phone to peak performance or to make it the fastest or best that it could be. it was intended as a starting place for those who simply want to get their phone running PROPERLY with the stock rom/ui. PROPERLY means without any glitches, force closes, freezes, lags, crashes or random reboots. there is a big difference between PROPERLY and BEST. for instance, take a car that comes out of the factory and has some problems. you can correct the problems and get it running PROPERLY, or you can supe it up and get it running the BEST/FASTEST. some people are happy with something just working properly, while others want the best/fastest. so for anyone who wants info on getting this phone running the best/fastest, feel free to start your own thread. this thread is for info on getting this phone WORKING PROPERLY. THANK YOU.
Yeah ok. I just think discussion ia a great forum for innovation. If everyone just stayed on topic all the time no new ideals would ever have a medium to incubate in. I'm sorry if we've irritated you, it definitely wasn't my intention. Were all on the same team here.

thats the only thing that irritated me. i repeatedly stated that certain stock apps were working fine for me. this guy repeatedly told me to replace the apps that i said were working fine for me. if you dont like those apps, fine. do whatever you want with your phone. dont keep insisting that i copy you. and the comment about doing any slow thing you want is what really irked me. i feel like that makes it sound like im an idiot for not doing what he tells me to do. i took it as disrespectful. i got no beef with anything or anyone else here.
if any of the apps that this guy insisted i replace were actually causing problems, i think i would still be having problems. especially touchwiz, which everyone thinks is so terrible, which isnt causing me any problems at all.
i think it only causes issues with memory, it doesnt manage it well. But i think you aid you close apps manually so it wouldnt be as bad.
Manually closing programs doesn't allow the garbage collector to do its job. Over time, small amounts of memory tied to hanging handles will add up and you will encounter issues.
Once again, it's your device. If you are happy, do what you like.

2.21.401.10 and still multitasking issue?

So, I've heard the new update 2.21.401.10 still has the well known limited multitasking issues (see YT videos for One X, it's the same for us: http://www.youtube.com/results?sear...0.0.0.119.352.3j1.4.0...0.0...1ac.R68YKWQ8QnE )?? Is it true? How can we persuade HTC to keep standard Android multitasking?
I've also heard the audio issues (crackles, trashed sounds, some micro-stutters sound-related. You can easily notice this with games, f.e. Pinball Arcade or Mame4Droid etc. Won't hear these problems on GS2 and other Android phones) are still there too, so the audio driver is still the same.
Should I go back to GS2? Multitasking problem is very important for me...
I don't have issues with sound now, never have. A lot of games ether aren't compatible completely (gta 3), and others are just trash audio. If you want to test audio run a GOOD mp3 file, if it crackles its your phone....
Sent from my HTC One S running Axiom S
the multitasking of the one X and S isnt' bugged, it is in this way for a choice of HTC. Basically the system doesn't left completly open apps but it freeze them which is almost the same of restart the app from zero more or less. This is because HTC want to keep some resources free to have a more fluid sense experience.
Anyway if you have an unlocked device you can flash this script http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=27318828#post27318828 that should give you real multitasking and leave the cool HTC interface ( the task manager ) to swith from an app to another. I would try it but I don't want to unlock my device at the moment.
none of the scripts work. wait till developers will fix it on kernel level. no other solutions here.

I agree with hexaae. It's worth nothing having a super-fluid UI if it means killing your opened browser when you try to live it in background. You just can't browse between browser and email: how is this supposed to be called multitasking??
I really believe this choice of HTC's is senseless... On a smartphone with 1GB of RAM...
Edit1: by the way, what is the "background processes limit" option in "development options" supposed to do? Possible values are 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, default.
Edit2: would it be an idea to make a poll and see how many people would be interested in this?

It worked for me, problem was the battery started draining like crazy. Which got me thinking, the reason HTC did this was battery life. Nothing else. Sense was still just as smooth for me, but apps would multi task like I used to, but my battery would last less than half as long. So I went back to stock and am getting decent battle life again.

Well this is quite natural, you should manually clear everything once that you put the phone on stand-by ( and here the cool HTC task manager interface lack of a " close all" button ) or if you don't want to do this you can put task killer widget on the home that kill everything by a tap. Anyway this would kill also the background process not started by you which is not good so HTC should really put a "close everything" button on task manager interface so we can kill just recent apps opened by the user and not from the system.

That is not true. Yes, the multitasking is not stock quality... but the scripts do have a noticeable effect that improves performance (assuming you have enough free memory).

It lacks the close all option because it is not needed. You dont have to close any apps unless they are something that need to be operating all the time like music player when it is playing songs or navigator and stuff like that. There is no difference for your batterylife whether you clear the "recent apps" list or not. And its called "recent apps" for a reason because it means that it has nothing to do with the fact is that application actually running or not. It has always being like that in android. It just makes it easier to jump between apps.
Using task killers and such only increases battery usage since the app it has closed needs to be loaded again when you use it the next time instead of it being just unfreezed from the memory.
HTC has set the automatic killer which kills apps on the background when running out of memory way too aggressive when you compare that to how it works on vanilla ICS or even older HTC phones running android 2.2 or 2.3.
However the latest update made multitask way better for One S. And Iam talking about the one which updatet android version to 4.0.4. Now you can jump between many apps without the fear of them closing immediately so Iam very happy with that now and it works as its should be.

I've read comments by users who installed latest update and still have the limited multitasking issue (I'm waiting for the OTA update in Italy). Are you saying instead this has been "fixed"...?

Well its working fine for me. I can now jump between 4-6 fairly light programs and 2-3 heavier ones without the previous app always closing like before the update.

Please can you test this?
Open Google in the stock browser and type in something to search (but don't start searching!)... then switch between other apps and finally go back to the browser. Does it still reload and delete your input text?
I'm going to test the script now. Available memory is not an issue for me, as I removed Sense and am running Nova Launcher. My available memory usually sits around +230, ranging from 170-270. Haven't seen it drop below that. As for battery life, as long as you actually use the HTC multitask button and kill the apps that you don't want to go back to, the battery shouldn't really be affected, or at least the only effect will be a result of the apps that you actually want running, so it's a trade off, right? Keep in mind that means not killing the processes that will be automatically restarted by Android (ie using an auto task killer, or some pre Froyo type apps), only user apps that you recently launched and are now killing.

Oh god, didn't I just explained this few post earlier? You dont have to do any of that since it DOESNT have any impact to your battery life. Go ahead and test it if you dont believe me.

Ok, I just did what you asked. After doing that with the default browser I was able to jump between Dolphin HD which had two tabs open, youtube app and chrome without any of them closing. And I even went to home screen between them. I think thats pretty good compared how it worked previously. Because then often it was enough if I just jumped to homescreen and then right back the previous app to make it close.
Confirmed.
Official stock ROM, via OTA, ver. 2.31.401.5... and there IS multitasking, finally! Task manager is much more conservative (around 70-80% of cases) with executed apps in the multitasking-history-menu...
Yes, also the browser now won't reload pages if you switch to the mail app for a moment and go back...
~200MB free mem.

Does this tablet just not want to multitask?

So I have had the tablet for a week now, running Marshmallow. Just rooted, nothing more. One thing that is driving me nuts with this tablet is that the way it uses its memory. It does not want to keep apps in memory.
For instance. I can be playing a game, jump out to Chrome, surf for a minute, go to email, then go back to my game and the game needs to reload. I look at the RAM and it says I have like 800mb free. This happens over and over to me.
Is this just normal for the Shield that it aggressively closes apps so fast. I am just comparing to my Nexus 7 that didn't behave like this and I thought it was very odd.
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!
Good question. I self have noticed this behaver, but I have the K1 only for a bit more than a week too and upgrade directly to Android 6.0, so I can't say if that happens on 5.x too. A Bug? A "Feature" of Android 6.0 or of the K1 itself? What ever it is, I don't like it, makes no sense for me, the K1 have enough RAM.

I'm noticing similar behavior but can't effectively tie it to the Marshmallow update either. I'm running stock with Action Launcher 3 as my launcher.
I see the same reload for apps when I've switched between multiple in one sitting. The one place I notice it frequently is in my use of Muzei, which I use in conjunction with Tapet, for changing wallpapers. It seems like at least once a day I access my tablet and notice that the wallpaper has reverted to a stock, static wallpaper and Muzei needs to be "activated".

Well I have no went back to 5.1, and the same problem. I can be playing a game, come out to the browser for a minute or 2, then go back to the game and it needs to be fully reloaded. Honestly I am soo surprised it acts this way, especially with 2GB of ram. It is such a let down. I wish people would have mentioned this in there reviews in the product as I saw it no where. I hate to say it, but it drives me nuts enough I am about to be an Ex-shield owner. I like playing games on this but I am sure other people are like me where they play for 15 -20 minutes. Put it down for a little bit, come back and want to play more. This just doesn't allow for that. It acts more like a portable console. constantly needing to be relaunched.
It's really annoying that it dumps apps out of memory. Like say I'm in Facebook and I want to look up a link in chrome to reply to a comment with.. So I switch to chrome find the link, switch back to Facebook, and now I'm at the main page again and have to scroll and find where I was at and sometimes I just can't and give up. Why Nvidia why?!

As far as I can tell, this is a bug/feature that Nvidia is responsible for. At first, I used to worry about switching between a game like Real Racing 3 and Chrome browser. The game will almost certainly close. Now, the there's an even bigger problem. I can't have a reasonable amount of tabs open in Chrome. They reload each time I switch to them. I considered switching to Firefox and/or Opera to see if the problem would persist but I just can't do without Chrome's syncing capabilities.
The only thing keeping me from rooting and trying out a custom ROM is the loss of Nvidia's proprietary apps.

The chrome tab problem might not be tablet related. I have the same issue on my Sony Xperia Z3 compact and on my Nexus 9. Maybe chrome sucks up so much ram that it forces android to close app in the background and tabs to unload?

My Marshmallow-running HTC One M8 handles this better than the tablet that has a more powerful hardware. I don't know how many tabs my phone can handle at a time but I know the tablet doesn't even come close in that regard.
I didn't buy a 2GB RAM tablet only to have it treat my browser tabs like an iPad with 1GB of RAM.
Holy crap... uninstall Facebook and Messenger and this thing flies. I always felt like it gamed "ok" but the UI was laggy as hell. Uninstalled FB and Messenger and now this thing is a beast.

I would recommend that on any android device. I've noticed on all of my devices with facebook that it was listed as the number one app for battery use even when I hadn't launched it in days. After uninstalling it I got improvements in battery life and now I just use their mobile website in chrome. I actually like that better as links open up in a new tab and there is no need to switch apps to go back and forth between facebook and web pages. I also created a home screen link to the facebook mobile website and put it in a folder on one of my home screens.
I hated the aggressive ram management of the stock rom initially so i rooted it and flashed BitO-k4 kernel , it improved but not up to the mark compared to my nexus 5x , now i use CM13 temasek's build (multirom) and it is way way better.
i think the stock rom is the initial culprit here, removing apps like facebook might help but things like swap , zram and ram management values present in stock will always be bottlenecks for true multitasking.
try using different kernels from our community it might help a bit.

If you still want to use fb try the app tinfoil for Facebook. That kinda goes for anyone regardless of what they are using, it's a lot better. Facebook apps suck so bad with resources they slow just about anything down...
