If so how can i go about putting this rom on this Exclusively China HTC phone.
It's a great phone honestly. But it's made for someone that is a permanent person in China. I'm a temporary student here for 2 years... I like the phone and I came from being a G2 user with the mod. Now if this phone can be with the Cynogen mod. Then it would be perfect. Because I can't get a normal market place on the phone... The HTC market place is no where as good or vast as googles market place. And I'd like my gmail to interact with my phone like it did in america. My gmail has all my contacts and what not saved on it.

I have similar problem, living in china and using htc s610d so could you find how to solve this issue?, I didnt yet. in case, I will post here.
thx
Would be nice if there could be opened a dedicated section for HTC S610D under forums.
I got this phone too and couldn't get in to the android market. So here's what I did:
Downloaded the HTC Sync Software which has the HTC USB drivers etc from www, htc, com
Set your device to run in HTC Sync mode when connected to a PC (in USB settings on phone)
Goto www, coolapk, com which is a market site that has most good apps on it in APK form.
Download the APK you want
Run HTC Sync
Connect your Device and make sure it is in HTC sync mode
After you've set up the device select "Application installer" on HTC Sync software on the PC
Select the APK File you downloaded. select ok
Wait
Huzzah
A quicker way after is to download the barcode scanner application from this website then just use that app to capture the bar codes on the download pages with your phone to download them directly onto the phone
And another thing, if you want your gmail contacts just go to:
settings,
accounts and sync,
add account,
exchange activesync,
enter your gmail email and password,
you can select to sync contacts, mail , calendar etc,,,

Don't know about 1), but for 2) - the Samsung app store is, as far as I can tell, geared towards Samsung's "not-quite-so-smart" phones - e.g. cheap ones with Samsung's custom OS, not Android.
For Android devices, the Market is where you want to go.

Yeah but I had Samsung market on sgs vibrant. That ain't no cheap phone.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA App
i didnt think the vibrant had samsung apps stock? well i thought it was a european thing and not for america like kies but if the vibrant had it then it may just be that att doesn't want it. you can get the samsung apps app but you will only see rare firmware updates for the infuse in it. i messed with putting samsung apps on the captivate and i once got a camera firmware update but otherwise it was empty. other than that you can change /system/build.prop to look like an i9000 and get a few apps but there isn't much in there that is worth having other than maybe the asphalt 5 version that was designed to work with our gpu (the lighting looks better, things are less dull/flat looking than the market version).
as for the first question what are your sync settings? go to sttings> accounts and sync ther eare 2 types of facebook accounts for some reason, open your facebook account, if it only says "sync contacts" then it is not the type of account you want, if you have 2 or 3 options make sure calandar sync is enabled. the facebook account with only contacts sync is for the facebook app so im not sure if you should disable it, up to you but i would disable contact sync for that account and enable it on the facebook social updates account, if you need to add the social updates account then go back> select add accounts >select facebook social updates near the top of the screen (says integrated contact accounts above it) and put in your email that is attached to the account and your password. select calandar sync and the sync interval and you should have it working.

I cant remember off the top of my head exactly, but it requires backing up the contacts to the SD card (export both the phone and the SIM in case you have some mixed up). Search for *.vcf like I did on the SD card because I didn't know where it was saved yesterday haha.
Then import into Google via Gmail (Contacts > Tab button: More > Select Import)
You'll see a bunch of repeats, so under that same menu you can find and merge contacts. After that on your Sensation Go into Settings > Sync (something i cant remember) > and select Google and select synchronize contacts if it isn't already.
I'll come back in a few hours if I manage to remember
You did the right thing by starting a thread for this question. The information can not be found with an internet search; the only way to find out how to do this task is by asking on XDA. There is no possibility that it is explained on dozens or even hundeds of threads, FAQ's, and self-help sites.
In fact, you're probably the second person who ever wanted to move contacts to a Google account; whoever gives you the answer will have been the first person, and he found out by using a Jedi mind trick on a smartphone.
I Did the trick,
You must hold the person you wanted to send to gmail. As vcard. Picture included! Then share or mail it to your own gmail. Make sure you can load mail into you htc. Then just open and tap the attached file. It should open and will ask you where you Wanted to store it. Choice gmail course. It wil now link the phonesavednr. My phone is good clear now I mean simcard
And remember to add only gmail numbers if you want that gmail contacts is updated all the time.
I hope you will Thank me for this hint.
Peace brothers

I logged into my google account on the web I use for my phone and I was shocked to see the information Google collected about my use of the device. It collected phone numbers from my contacts, even the pictures I asigned to them, calendar appointments...I can understand there are Market applications I downloaded, but come on, contacts and appointments? Is this phone not mine? Which applications do this and how can I prevent it from happening? I thought I don't have sync on....

Hi,
What ROM are you using?
On mike1986 's latest,he has removed the HTC LOGGERS and various other Spyware apps which HTC have installed.
Worth checking out.
See my sig
Also ROM CLEANER
This will remove the spyware from any ROM when you install it.
I did not put any other rom on the phone because I don't know how. I'm afraid that rom cleaner may be a little bit out of my abilities. I don't quite understand what is going on with this whole data collection even...

I see! I found it in apps. Google Backup Transport. There is also Google Clanedar Sync and Google Contacts sync. Darn! I guess it's not safe to remove these applications with root uninstaller?
Just untick the sync options in Settings if you're that bothered. I actually like having it so all my contacts can be moved between Android devices that I sync to my account

Anything that was already sync'd before you unchecked the box will remain there...you can safely delete them from your online Google account. Have you never read or heard that this is one of the advantages/core features of android?
But don't call tech support or cry when you have to either replace or master reset your phone and lose all your stuff.
I have a whole closet full of android devices and I love the fact that I can grab my 2-1/2 year old G1 and log into it and instantly be reminded of my appointment that afternoon without having to worry about anything.

I had sync OFF since I bought the device about a month ago, and it STILL happens, I know this becuase it also synced my NEWEST contatcs (two that I added just this week) and appoinments, so this is not me being that dumb lol. I have all my contacts on my sim card, that is where I want them and I don't need google to collect them for me.
Try altering the settings from your google account online. Like go into google calendar from a computer, and don't let it sync to anything. Likewise with contacts.

Not to be rude, but it strikes me how many people are like this, just because some random fool found out how to read out location data from a iPhail they fear every possible logging feature, unless your a cd printing piratebay connected child molester, nobody will look at your logs, calm down.
And its google, you can just configure you dont want it, either in initial setup (first boot) or in the settings as mentioned above.
Thing is, though, as soon as you sign into your Gmail account when setting up the phone it's automatically syncs the contacts. You could turn off sync, delete them from the phone and online and then it shouldn't sync up again but if that doesn't work I don't think you can get around it. How you can still have numbers on a SIM is beyond me - I prefer all contact details under 1 entry personally
lol so using google for sensitive-info emails is ok, but some contacts and calender items are taboo?
Hi All,
I tried to find something similar but to the best of my searching abilities, nobody seems to be having the same issue.
I've been using an HTC One (a GNex before that) for the last few months. When I got it, like my other previous Android phones, at the initial setup it pulled down all of my contacts.
When I set up my N5, however, the contact list was the last one from my GNex! The hundreds of new contacts since then are not on the new phone. It's enough to make me want to just sell the phone instead of going through each contact individually.
On my HTC one in the People app it shows 494 contacts under my gmail address, and last sync was a few minutes ago. On the N5 I don't get the same screen, but I have a total of 123 people in the app, and it shows that it has synced with my gmail.
Does anyone know what's going on here, and how to get my contacts onto the N5?
Thanks!
You probably saved your new contacts on the htc on the phone not on google...
Change them to google or export them all and import into google.
ALSO, make sure you had the htc one set to sync contacts...settings..accounts...google...click on your email..

My contacts are saved to Google. In my People app on the HTC, When I click to choose source, "Google (my email)" is selected, with 495 contacts.
As I said in the original post, everything is synced, and the last sync was a few minutes before the post.
I tried the export and import but all that did was double the number of contacts under my Google account (gmail address).
Is there anything else I can try?
I am currently using an iPhone 4 and the idiots at Apple have removed the option to export contacts to Google in their iTunes program... SO now I have installed a little app called Bump, that should help me transfer all my contacts to the new Nexus 5 when i get it. You can try it with your two phones if you like. Seems pretty simple, however i have never used it yet...
Here is a link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bumptech.bumpga&hl=en
well if what you said is true, you should be in the htc one forum, not the nexus 5. Apparently your htc is what messed up.
I really have to go with user error here, its pretty basic stuff. I highly doubt your htc one failed to sync contacts even though it was set to sync google contacts...if so..you are the "one."
I know that sounds rude, but, really.....its basic stuff here.
GOOGLE how to backup contacts and restore them on an android phone, unless you want your hand held here.
Hey whatever happened to the OP's problem ? Did he/she fix it ? I have recently transferred all my contact from my iPhone to my new N5 with absolutely no problems with this app. I can confirm it works like a charm and totally recommend it. It takes less then 10 seconds to complete everything. The actual transfer took like 1 second !!!
I have a similar issue.
I too am coming from an HTC One, but I don't think that's the problem in my case. I've logged into my Nexus 5 using my Google credentials, but none of my Google contacts are appearing. I checked my contacts list in Gmail from my laptop to be sure, and all my contacts are there. I went back to my Nexus 5 and manually synced contacts in the settings, but nothing changed; my contacts are still not showing up.
I would love to know if anyone has found a resolution to this issue.
Have you made sure that "Auto-sync app data" is checked off,
"All contacts" is selected in Contacts to display,
and "Contacts" is checked off in your Gmail sync account.
Are you using a corporate Google account? You may need to ask your administrator for help.
Did you log into http://contacts.google.com and see if they are shown there? If so they must also be in My Contacts which the HTC might not be setting. Also on your phone, check settings and then check if they are in another folder just not being displayed.
Hi,
I've buyed my Wife the U11 life after she have destroyed accidently her A9. She is well with the phone, but the GMail App makes some Problems. If she answer me (Outlook Exchange Accounts) all Answers from her will copy the whole Thread into the Mail -is she Answer several times I have to search into displayed Thread for her Answers as the newest Answers will be displayed with following History frm beginning, then the Answer before is displayed with whole History, and so on.
We never have this Problem with the HTC Mail App in the Past (using HTC Phones since 2003), but with Android One the HTC Apps are gone of course. How is is possible to use a useful Mail App like HTC Mail? Just to install it via sideload is not working. The GMail Exchange App is crap, there are no really usefu Options provided, it is more like an iPhone -WE will decide what you want and need. :-/
What we can use the HTC Mail App instead, and how?
Best regards
Maybe try this? It's HTC Mail available on the playstore...
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.htc.android.mail
No, unfortunately not. So I'd tried to install via Sideload (downloaded .apk installed) but it fail if I try to start it. I think it depends on other HTC Software that have to be installed in the Background. May someone know what have to be installed?

you can try yahoo mail app from the play store what i use for everything outlook to google and even more
I would guess that there is no working htc mail app for the android one version, as it is n.a. in this thread too: https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...blinkfeed-plugins-devices-08-03-2015-t3049438.
You could try the outlook for android app. As far as I've understood your problem, it should do what you asked for. It's free without adds, but you may want to change the signature of your mails in settings.
