Notifications and vibrate options

I like to have an option where you can select the ring tone and vibrate number of's. I.e an email notification with ring tone repeated 3 times and 4 vibrates. Or 2 rings 1 vibrate etc. Useful to anyone else/?. Such as when your expecting very important email.

That specific setting is for calls and texts only. If you want to disable vibrate for incoming emails, you need to go to the settings for the individual email accounts and disable there. You do this by going into the menu when you have the email account open. If you also want to disable vibrate when using the keyboard, you would need to go to the the keyboard and touch settings.

Disable/Silence Notification Sound

How do I silence notifications?
I have been looking around the settings and cannot find a way to silence the notification sound for SMS's, emails, etc. On stock Android most applications have a ringtone called "Silent" or something to that effect. On the HOS I cannot find it. I feel stupid asking this, but hopefully I am not the only one that is new to Sense and does not know where this is.
Thank you.

Go into sms>setting>notification>uncheck notification sound to silent sms. Then go to mail>settings>notification settings>uncheck sound notification. Hope this helps

Notifications and the phone Ringer volumes are tied together with no way to separate them. If you put the phone in silent it will silence notifications, or if you use the volume rocker on the side of the phone, notification sound volumes will decrease with ringer volume.

That is completely impractical. If I want notifications silenced, I don't want to jump through ****ing hoops like some dog & pony show, but I suppose technically you're right. As long as you don't mind all those ridiculous steps to get it done. But you can't turn notification volume down without turning ringer volume down.

hey im not htc i didnt decide to make it that way lol. i know its pretty dumb but he wants to be able to silent the sms, email, etc and thats how we have to do it. lol
An alternative solution: Try getting the app Volume Control +, set it so that ringtone volume and notification volume are not linked, and then turn down the volume on notifications all the way.
I haven't tried it, so tell us if it works for you.
I've tried with other volume control apps, and they all show different volumes for a second, but ringer and notification are always the same volume, even if the app shows them as different. I guess I'll give Volume Control+ a shot, but I would be surprised if it made a difference.

Volume Control+ & Audio Manager wont do it either.
Try this app:

Thank you for your responses and support.
I was able to disable the notification sound for gmail and SMS.
However, I cannot find a way to disable the notification sound for calendar events. Does anybody know how to disable event notification sounds?
I think it is crazy that "Silent" is not an option in the default list of notification sounds. It would be the easiest way to disable all notifications in one-step.
Thank you.

How to disable email vibrate notification?

Is it possible to disable the vibrate notification when receiving e-mails (using the stock e-mail app)? I want the visual icon to show up in the notification bar with no sound, just NOT vibrate. I want to keep the vibrate notifications for MMS, calls, etc..just not e-mails. This seems like a simple request but I can't seem to figure it out.
If its anything like the Gmail app then open up settings, inside settings, click on your Address [email protected], Then its inside there...
( I don't use the email app, sorry.. just a thought )
Settings --> General --> Notifications --> Select corresponding account --> UNcheck "Vibration" (unchecked by default for me)

Thanks for your response. The "vibration" option is grey so I can't change it. It is off by default anyways, but it still vibrates.
This is driving me crazy. Any recommendations for a different email app?
Open email. Touch 3 dots in upper right hand corner. Touch settings. Open notifications. Select email account . Turn off vibration.

If you're like me and always keep your phone on vibrate, this is actually a far more annoying issue than you would imagine. (The same fix can be used for Google Hangouts.)
If vibrate is not currently enabled under notifications and your phone keeps vibrating at you, it's actually because of your notification sound. If you change the notification sound to "Silent", your phone will no longer vibrate.

Yes, I always keep my phone on vibrate. If I switch it to silent, wouldn't that disable the vibrate from sms and calls?
No, those will still vibrate. You don't want to switch the ring tone settings, just the notification sound for your email. Go into settings, notifications, and then for the notification sound select "Silent".

Why can't the clock vibrate if not email notification sound is selected in the phone?

I use the stock email app on my S7 and don't want to have a sound when an email is received. But removing the notification sound in the email app on the phone also makes the clock stop vibrating when I receive an email. Why is that? I have notifications in the email app turned on.
I want the phone to be silent when I receive an email but the clock to vibrate? Can that be done?

I'm facing the very same issue.
Before Gear S3 i was using Gear 2 and regardles of phone settings for particular app, notifications on watch (sound and vibrations) were working independently.
Now Gear S3 settings seems to be overriden by phone settings - in other words if notification on phone is vibrating then watch is vibrating, if i change application on phone to stop vibrating then regardles of watch settings, also watch stops vibrating.
The only way to have silent phone and watch vibrating is to set application to have vibration on and make whole phone silent.
That sucks - is there any way to change that behaviour ??
