Tried to post on the ROM thread but wasn't allowed so here goes nothing.
Downloaded some custom lockscreens directly from the phone and some off line, when I hit apply it quickly says " successfully applied" however it still is stuck on the default lockscreen.
Any tips would be great thanks!
Miui 1.93
G2X
Faux 4.3
i had a similar issue with boot animations, but that was with Morfic's T15 kernel.
where did u get Faux 4.3? do u have any audio issues with MIUI?
No audio issues that ive noticed. The faux 123 was in the G2X rom section alot of people using miui recommended it. Version 4.3 CM build
do u have a direct link to v4.3?
i'm only finding v4.2 here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1073626
Crap my bad it is 4.2 I dont know why I thought it was 4.3.
but it is 4.2 CM
Since I flashed miui ive also had issues with my internal SD card not being read. However I do have a 16gb external in it as well, and thats were I put most of the lockscreen files.

okay after reading a bit more and help from other users finally got this working and maybe itll be help to someone else
PHONE MUST BE ROOTED CHECK OUT THE ROOTING THREAD
AND DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK UNDERSTAND THE RISK OF OC
THE ARIA IS ALREADY PRETTY ZIPPY SO PERSONAL CHOICE
1. grab any rom cm6 or liberated, then go into the kernel thread and download the kernel pack
some people are reporting certain versions are breaking wifi,3g etc
i used oc768-v3.2 legend zip wifi working no issues plus this is sufficient for me
but if it doesnt work play around with diff kernels
2. boot into recovery mode vol down and power
3. flash your rom then flash the kernel pack and reboot
4. download and setcpu app and start OC
im not taking any credit for any of this but i wanna thank for everyone who worked on this
i just simply wanted to write this because i wanted to try this but i got alot of diff info
but after other users made a few key points decided to write this
anyone feel free to add to this and if i made any errors or whatever mods go ahead and change it
Read ,Search ,Read . I had no luck with the 3.5 kernels tho.
What you want is some hand holding it looks like.
I figured this all out for myself by reading the forum.....
but anyway I'll answer it in the foolish hope of no more people asking the same questions
1. download what files....? if your talking about roms i think youll know where to go after reading this post.
2. you can use whatever rom you like, the main two on this forum and as far as I know on the aria full stop are Liberated and Cyanogen Mod 6. Liberated is based on the stock aria rom so its pretty much what your used to with your stock aria (minus the AT&T rubbish plus a few added perks). Cyanogen Mod 6 is based on bare android so it doesn't have all the sense ui, it is also based on froyo which is the version above eclair (which is what is running on your base aria/ liberated rom). Do not ask which rom to use, it is up to personal preference you just have to try both and see which one you like.
3. you flash a kernel the same way you install a rom on your phone except instead of selecting the rom .zip file you select the kernel .zip file. You should first flash a rom and then afterwards flash the kernel. As ycode90 said some kernels don't work so just go through the process again and try another one, the 3.2 825 kernel was working on liberated for me so try that one.
All OC kernals broke wifi or mobile network on my buddies Aria, I left him with the stock kernal from CM6.

Yup, it had been my experience that these OC kernels and *anything* that utilizes gpu sucks. There isn't a kernel for the aria at this time, and by using these kernels here you are increasing cpu performance at the expense of gpu performance. I don't believe its worth it at all just for a linpack number.
Yep patiently waiting for an ARIA kernel.
Working over clock:

, just need to get the latest nightly, 87 so that bluetooth, wifi, and network all works great.
Good Luck
I don't understand how to flash the kernel or rom. I see no options in Recovery. I'm on CM6.0.2.1 trying to use oc844-v3.5-legend-cm-2.6.29-signed. Help?

you install it the same way you installed the CM6 Rom. Put the kernel zip on your SD card and install the zip via Clockwork. Also anytime you flash a new Rom you will have to reflash the overclock kernel.
I have several themes downloaded for Miui and I was using them before when I was running 1.8.12. I switched to Faux AOSP ROM for a little while and then switched back to Miui 1.9.9. I try to apply the themes, lockscreens, or icons and it never changes. I have even flash the ROM over again and it will not work. Any one else having this problem?
I believe it's because 1.9.9 was meant for the Lg O2x. Although you were able to flash it successfully and get it to work, some of the features might not be compatible. But i could be wrong.
I'm running 1.9.2 and everything seems to be working fine. Actually MMS send/receive and stock browser feels faster compared to when i was running EB 2.3.5
I am going to flash back to 1.9.2 and see if the themes work on there. I was running Miui back when you had to create the folder yourself in order to be able to apply themes. Do not know if that has something to do with it.
EDT: I flashed back to 1.9.2 and I still cannot change anything that has to do with the themes. Any thoughts?
hey, ive been trying to figure out which custom rom + kernel combination should i use but in every rom i'm reading some or the other complaining about something not working, losing signal, or sudden batttery loss, random reboots
is ther a reliable custom rom out ther ? .. because i dont wanna miss out on an important call or message or e-mail at the right time
i really liked what brainmasters miui and kelmsking have done with their roms but still even though its written stable but users aint feeling it to b stable.
i wud like ur opinions on this, and also if u all could help me find a stable rom like the stock one. i am always travelling so i cant afford to have a buggy phone cuz i wudnt have time to go to my computer to do something about it.
i know i have read it many times ther is no best rom cuz its personal choice, but still i want to knw more about stable roms

What's GPA18? I just got my S a week ago, I downgraded from a HTC Sensation and I'm going to use this for a while until Ice Cream Sandwich comes out, but I'm using OXYGEN's rom right now. Stock kernel it comes with and everything, and it's pretty stable for me, great battery life, sometimes I lose data but that's because of the radio update, but other than that, it's great.
gpa 18 is peter alfonso rom, gpa 18 is still not stable though ..
Hi,
I tried CyanogenMod7 (Nightly Builds and Stable version 7.1.0), MIUI (latest version) and Oxygen 2.3.1.
CM7: This is a great ROM but I got random reboot or asking my PIN code. I only have Google Apps, nothing about G+ 2.0 or GWallet. I got those issue since a while on Nightly Builds.
MIUI: if you like IPhone style, this is a great ROM too. None reboot.
Oxygen: this is also a nice ROM. You need to custom it with Go Launcher, GO Weather, GO SMS, DSP Manager... because this is a little raw but, nothing to say only stable.
Performances are pretty good.
There is also NSCollab ROM which is built off Cyanogen Mod,and its a combination of both stock and Cyanogen which I've found to be more stable probably cause of the kernel I.e Matr1x which is built off the stock kernel
I'm using NSCollab 1.0.50 right now and I haven't had any issue yet
I tried netarchy and Trinity kernels with NSCollab but matr1x seems to be the best with NSCollab, gives me a Quadrant of 3000 at 1Ghz
Sent from my Expensive Magical Brick.
Brainmasters MIUI is my fav. No reboots no signal loss when installed clean.

You could go stock deodexed, zip-aligned and with newest radio. You could play with kernels for BLN, Voodoo, and OC. Stable but with a few goodies.

nope this rom is KIAed ( key ud ) ( military term sorry did 5 1.2 yrs ) anyways no this kernel will not work on other roms unfortunetly ive tested it on the aosp ics with no luck at least for me and now it just rebooted for some reason kinda irritating lol other then that fact i got it to work on the blazer 4.0.4 ( i like 4.1.2 but it doesn't want to show my music anymore and that irritates me ..any ideas why lol ) so for now im stuck with the 4.0.4 ics firmware granted not bad with the dev's of FW though but yes there is success at least on the blazer 4.0.4 with this kernel i miss the 1.83ghs overclock but ill be alright with the 1.72 still quick as sh!t

sp isn't stock and there's different flavors of AOSP ( ie. 4.0.4 , 4.1.2 ) im unfortunetly stuck with 4.0.4 due to that fact that i can't get my music to show up for some reason or another in the 4.1.2 roms and i was originally using pacman rom with the BL OC/GPU zip along with the BL kernel but now im reduced to the 4.0.4 ICS rom's so that's were the ? was in regards to was ics kernels with OC support but the tfq scorched kernel works with the blazer it just for some reason reboots every now and then an im trying to figure out why but other then that any ideas on why music aint showin up in the 4.1.2 roms anymore ( and there is no .nomedia files either , it also is not reading against my ext sd and when i use the MTP trans it sees them when the phone is transferring but when i reboot it don't c em no more ) so any ideas cause i would like to go back to the 4.1.2 roms some of those are lightweight and i use backtrack and ubuntu on my blaze ( i have both working quite well actually , on 4.0.4 based ics rom but id rather use like i said the 4.1.2 roms there much lighter in memory usage

Random reboots could potentially mean that the cpu just isn't taking too well to the OC. Try to lower the cpu max to see if the reboots go away in 4.0.4. I don't have any issue with Thomas.Raines's PA 2.99.4 and his LZ kernel. Remember that the "external_sd" folder at /sdcard/external_sd isn't where your sd is located on the 4.1 roms, it's at /external_sd. In titanium it shows up as "storage/sdcard1" while the internal phone storage is at "storage/sdcard0". MTP on JB is a bit wishy-washy and no matter how many times I refresh my pc the files I just put on my phone never show up, but I can browse to them via root explorer. If what you are copying to your phone disappears completely upon reboot you may have a bad sd card.
sd card not bad

ive got a brand new less than a week old 16g card well prolly 2 weeks now and it houses all my music and i can c it and play it on the 4.0.4 based ROMS ( trying to incorporate a 128g sd card that's a higher class but dont know how it's gonna fair ) anyways i can c and listen to my music on the sdcard on a 4.0.4 even the stock ics from tmob but yet it still doesn't derive anything in regards to the 4.1.2 and yes it does disappear on the MTP selection and won't even be touched nor reced ( recognized ) ext nor int sd cards is there way to re symlink through busybox and or terminal through su cmd or would i have to do a script that works around the basis of what the 4.1.2 scripts and symlinks c

Have you given thomas's Paranoid Android 2.99.4 a try? Try it out, I love it. No issues with music/sd card/etc. LZ kernel is great and can be oc'd and still has great battery life (you will have to dl and flash phase 3 from the kernel thread to get oc). Great customization/performance, only thing that is missing for me is wifi calling (issue with aosp roms in general). I never used pacman, so I can't comment on functionality, etc with the rom (like if the music issue you are having is rom related, etc).

ive tryed that rom and it to has problems detecting music anyway i can work around that cause i like the 4.1.2 roms there cleaner and much more robust in regards to framework apks etc so if there's anyway around it and yes ive done the swap to and switched the ext / int sd card and it worked before and the sd card aint bad it is seen on the ICS 4.0.4 roms so if you have any suggestion on how i can remedy this problem it would be oustanding cause i don't want to create a new symlink ( only if i have to ) but if you have anything let me know
Hi ,
I am facing these bugs in CM 7.2 which are ruining my cyanogenmod experience
1. Rebooting on incoming calls or sometimes even during a call
2. No ring tone for incoming calls .
3. Mobile data doesn't enable sometimes . Requires a switch on and off of wireless connections.
4. Occasionally hanging after screen locks.
5. The launcher widgets at the bottom of the home screen disappear often .
Is there any patch for this or can anybody suggest me a better GB ROM that meets these basic requirements .
It'll probably help if you specified the exact ROM you're using, the kernel, any mods or tweaks you're using, whether you use a2sd, and whether you overclock. I'm using the latest CM7.2 unofficial nightly by FitAmp and I don't have any of the stuff you mentioned.

Is that the stable branch, or the nightly? In any case, it sounds like you got a bum copy of the ROM or an error while flashing. Try reflashing (or redownloading and then reflashing). FWIW, I'm using the latest unofficial nightly by FitAmp (check in the Original Android Development forum), with Mounts2sd (from Play Store) as my a2sd script, and DJnoXD's 2.5.8 kernel. It's also overclocked to 710. That setup has been super stable for me.
