[Q] Does touchwiz 4 work on gingerbread roms on the 4g?

Seeing as how none of the gingerbread roms or kernels for the 4g seem to have touchwiz 4 or 4.5 included, has anyone gotten touchwiz 4 to work in gingerbread for the 4g, and if so, what did you do? I've seen touchwiz 4 working fine on vibrant gb builds, e.g. Asgard 3.1.2.
When I had gb installed on my 4g I tried getting tw4 on there but kept getting messages that it wouldn't install. I'd like to try the latest ICBINB but as far as I can tell from the thread, tw4 is not a feature of that rom.

if your taking about the hacked tw 4.5 it works fine

i tried to install it but it didn't install. do i have to switch to another launcher to install it?

try double tapping the home button. it should let you choose the new launcher if it installed correctly.

ok im trying to get the cm7 ics layout to work. ive tryed multiple times today but i cant seem to get it to work. Can someone lend a hand

Which ROM are you using exactly?
I know it says 'cm7' in the title, but is it CM7 you're using, or a ROM based on it? And what version of it?
Edit: Or did you get it handled in the threads there?

I just downloaded Sonny's ICS CM7 theme from the market and use the stock ADW launcher. It themes the icons, Widgets, keyboard, all kinds of things. On his xda thread he has themes for other launchers but stock has been looking great. Very easy. I haven't flashed the new font but might.
I haven't screwed with the lockscreen.

so far im using cm7 nightlies i do the flash and undo then flash again but still nothing D:

Just switched to ICS CoreDroid but i have a few probs

Try another ICS rom, and if that doesn't work, well, these are leaked builds. Nothing works perfect all the time.

they generally recommend a full wipe when switching roms...
maybe that's it - or try another ROM

i am hoping to put the KOB4LT R3V4MP3D 4.1 ICS theme on my skyrocket. i have cwmr touch installed and i am rooted. i was running superlite with that theme but wanted to try the new stock leak. it is running a lot smoother an with less problems then superlite did. so i want to know if i can put it on a stock rom without screwing everything up.

Yes you can flash random things like the toggle mod, but I'm not sure if every mod will work perfectly though. Trial and error then nandroid

well u shouldn't be mismatching framework-res.apk's, as each from chef puts different configs in there from my understanding, but u can flash the systemui.apk without issue I would think, as well as some of the inverted and aosp apps included in that theme

AOSP(v41) Theme Broken in ARHD 6.7?

Hi All,
I flashed latest 3.33 firmware last night, rebooted into recovery to wipe/install arhd 6.7. All normal. Install went great. Set up rom, market reinstalled apps. Perfect.
Next I go to install the aosp theme v.41 by shnizlon. I was using this theme perfectly on 6.6.5 for the longest time and it's always been great. The main thing I want is the aosp contacts/dialer and the status bar. So I do not check the "remove all other sense apps and widgets" option on the last page, so I can keep clock/weather, etc. Well, the theme installs fine, but when I boot back into rom, all is well, but apps such as clock and weather fc. I had never experienced this before. I tried to wipe cache, clear app data, but nothing works.
Has anyone gotten this beautiful theme working properly on this beautiful rom? Thanks!

It MIGHT be a firmware issue, as 6.7.0 is based on 3.33, but the mod might not have been updated to match yet. That's the only problem I think it could be.

Many of mods and theme witch work with ARHD 6.6.7 didnt work with 6.7. I didnt know why. Maybe firmware different?

Thanks for the replies. I hope some more people will post about this issue in hopes that we can get this mod updated! Anyone else experiencing the issues though?

I used Advanced Menu in ARHD 6.6.7, it works pefect but when I update to ARHD 6.7 my liked mods didnt work.
Do not know why.

1. Its not a firmware thing, i mean seriously how can firmware which is completely different to a rom, make things not work. for example, if you downgrade to 3.32 firmware then the mods still wont work.
2. Its a rom thing because the rom is based on the 3.33.401.6 htc build. This build contains numerous code changes that make mods made for previous versions not work properly anymore.
3. To get it working all mods need to be ported to the new 3.33 base build

I pm'd shnizlon about this and he said he'd get on a fix. I'm sure he could use a little confirmation/encouragement from you fine folks as well!
