[Q] Best Custom ROM? - HTC Sensation

Hi. I'd like to know what you guys would recommend as the best Custom ROM for HTC. I love the theme and I think that my theme needs to look good. I love my phone even more when the visual appearance is better but it also needs to have a decent speed. Also, can you suggest ROMs with Sense as I like it a lot too...
Love to hear your suggestions...

[Q] Cyanogen?

Hi, can someone explain exactly what Cyanogen mods are all about? Are they the premium development and what makes them special? Sorry for such a simple question but I am relatively new to the Android scene Thanks.

try it and decide for yourself if you like it.
I only had my Nexus s for 48 hours....I will have to build up to flashing a ROM, I am rooted though I wanted to know how the real terms performance is different when running Cyanogen.
Cyanogen historically is the best of the best custom ROM with tons of extra, very useful features. Cyan on my nexus one is just awesome and brings so many extra things needed.
performace difference.....not much with the nexus s so far...I use it for the extra features. dropdown bar widgets, two slider lockscreen, incogneto mode in the browser, and other such tweaks. I have used it for so long that i forget what is different about it until i go back to a stock firmware....then i realize why i like it so much. but that's me. The nexus s is nice because it doesn't have another skin on it. i'm just not a fan of them. CM is essential for me on the incredible and my evo. i don't care how much people praise sense i just don't like it. i had a g1 then a nexus one.....sense was fun when it was called rosie and was released on the g1 as an alternate theme....even then it slowed things down.
edit: if anyone says they get 200 more points in quadrant benchmarks that isn't a real world performace increase. you can't feel 200 points....now the ext4 enhancements, those you can feel.
Thank you for all your replies, very useful. I will be sure to try Cyanogen when I have the confidence to make the switch

[Q] Opinion needed

So im converting my mom to a thunderbolt from a blackberry, and i was wondering your guys opinion. Of course most people here are goin to prefer the stock android experience compared to the sense. But for a woman who is relatively un-tech savy, would you guys recommend a Vallina Rom or a more stock one closer to the sense experience, for the best user experience?

I bet a very basic user would appreciate the polished sense look. Their widgets look great and serve the basic needs of a user like your mom.

+1, I would have to agree here. I'm biased though, as I have only owned sense phones. Of course, CM is nice and that is what I ran on my eris.

I kinda disagree..I think most of us do prefer Sense over vanilla. (as shown on a recent poll on droidlife too).
Sense not only gained more votes than stock android.. but it also surpassed the competition (like touchwiz and motoblur) by significant numbers.
You will love Sense.
It's all what you like best. Everyone here has their own preference on setups, icons, themes, kernels, roms, etc... Try them both out for a couple days to a week and see which one you like the best, and suits your needs the most.
alright well i guess well my next question would be, do u think das bamf or just a stock debloated one would be best considering user experience is the highest priority. So I guess what im trying to say the one with the least bugs and most stability.

I know this and i know what i prefer the most which is speed, i dont really care about a shiny pretty interface with beautifl widgets. But my mom is obviously different and I'm going to be goin in a few days so i just wanna make sure shes setup before i leave.

My 2 cents worth.. go with Stock .. for a while at least.. It is fast and stable and you'll see how zippy it is compared to a lot of custom roms. Form your benchmark with stock first and then when you run custom rom's you'll see the improvement/depreciation in speed and response.
I haven't had a single reboot/gps issue after going back to stock.. also when you go to a themed rom, remember that it slows down the "zippiness" unless the kernel is tweaked .. which mean it could be draining your battery more..There is a reason why Sense and a lot of apps are monochromatic for the most part.
there are pros and cons to everything.. you'll have to try it all out and see what you like best.. that's the beauty of android .. you have choices

What is the best rom to use?

I'm confused about the whole ROM thing. I want to install custom ROM's in my phone, but what is the difference between Android Revolution HD, Cyanogen 7 and Leedroid? Which one is the best? What do they do? How do they differ from the stock Sense 3.0 that is on the Sensation?
I love the Sense 3.0 and it's interface. As long as the bloatware is gone, some new additions are added on to it, and if it was a little more snappy and quick. I'm lost!
All of the ROMs out now are Sense based so you wont have trouble finding one you like. Read each of their threads to see what changes have been made. Honestly, they're all pretty similar. I would go with one that has a lot of users and is updated frequently. Revolution HD fits the bill nicely at the moment.
It's like buying a car...will a Toyota Camry fit the needs of EVERY SINGLE PERSON OUT THERE? Probably not. Everyone has different needs and wants, you have to figure it out yourself.
Think of ROMs as like cars. Test out the ROMs and see which one you like the most.

[Q] BB Theme

So I see all these cool/nice themes for the NS4G, however none seem to work with Bugless Beast ICS. Is there a reason why no one creates themes compatible? I mean to me BB is one of the most reliable ROMS out there. It kinda sucks to see no love for the Beast. I know it doesnt offer all the features of other ROMS and all, but still you know it be nice. Or is there a theme out there that does work?
thanks

[Q] Still looking for a sense 4.0 rom?

I posted this question a few weeks ago, but I didnt really get any definative answers. Im currently running Virtuous AOSP Rom, wich already doesnt get great battery life, so Im sure a Sense 4.0 Rom will only be worse. But, Im really wanting to give Sense 4.0 a go, or maybe just something different, as I get a little bored easily.
Sooooo, what do you guys reccomend? I need wifi hotspot, as I do run my tablet & laptop off of it frequently. Just as most, battery life & overall smoothness is my ultimate goal. Sense 4.0 is actually the first manufacturer overlay that Ive really been enticed by. It looks like HTC has actually come up with something attractive and intuitive.
Im also going gto be purchasing an HTC One device and Im curious to see how Sense 4.0 performs. Thanks in advance to anyone who may be able to provide me with their first hand experience and or input! You guys are Great!
