can somebody please provide a mirror link?
Beta is up, but only for some markets (US/CA/UK...).
Maybe someone could share the .akp? (No idea if just the download or the functionality is blocked outside the geographic beta area)
Bax

apk is private. I can't copy it. Anyone?
One way you can get it is to change your market location with Market Enabler:
http://code.google.com/p/market-enabler/
Sprint in USA is 310120
Verizon in USA is 310012
Run Market Enabler, set your "location" with a custom entry (Either Sprint or Verizon) and then open Market. You should see logmein in search.
If someone can help me with copying the private apk, I'm happy to post it.

LogMeIn apk available here:

LMI Beta closed
The LogMeIn Ignition Android Beta is now closed.
Not able to download from MarketPlace any longer. The only place I can find the LMI apk is at the above mediafire link. PS- Works great on a Verizon Incredible. Works like crap on G1. Need multi touch for it to shine.

Works perfectly fine on my G1 w/ Cyan 4.2.14.1.
I just got an email after registering. You basically get 120 hours of use or 30 days trial. Whichever one comes first. This is a REALLY cool app but I can't see myself using it enough to pay for.
Apparently a new version of this app has rolled out today. Anyone able to grab it and repost? Even with ME running and the right values, it won't show up in market for me. I think it's to do with what version of Android I'm running (2.1 AOSP build)
i installed succesfully the .apk posted before but it say trial expired.
is there a get-around? tnx

Yeah, you need the new one that was released on 6/1 - but no one's posted it yet
It's here.
Doesnt Ignition require that you are a ignition-subscriber to work?

I paid £29 for this on the iPhone, was amazed it appeared to be "free" on Android. Bear in mind that with this app and LMI free services you can remote control loads of PCs/Macs etc via phone or web browser. I've got it set up with all the relatives computers for remote support, as well as my home server.
Seems kind of reasonable to pay for the convenience of the app: I'll buy this when it comes out, it's that good.

Yeah I have 9 computers in my LMI botnet myself :-D
But Ignition for pc is subscription based at 30-50usd a month I believe.
I cant justify paying that each month, if I did support through LMI for a living I would definitely consider it
But even if I wanted to pay I wouldnt be able to because google are being lazy bums in my country :'(

I'm usign their free service. Gives you ability to use a web browser on any PC anywhere to control all your machines, as well as use the Android app. You only pay for features like remote file sharing/printing etc.
My HTC desire can download this app but cannot install it. The app the site before could be installed but trial has expired.
It installed, but when I try to open, it says "trial period expired" and closes..
Edit: Never mind.. didn't look at the dates on the posts.
I saw somebody mention that Zinio is included in the 3.1 update. Is this correct?
I had previously installed it with directions here, but it's a little funky. First, it gave me about eleven sample magazine issues. The size of the magazines on the library screen seems to be a little off and the app is otherwise quirky.
Everyone experiencing this, or was it because I had the other version installed? Any way to fix this?
Thanks!
As of today, Zinio is up on the market. Should be able to grab it on 3.0.
Yes, Zinio was part of the 3.1 update.

Cool, I'll just remove it and reinstall just to make sure everything is okay.
It keeps freezing on me when I try to open a Magazine for more info. Cant delete it as well since it came with 3.1. Going to try to install it from the app store as it keeps telling me to update it.
I kind of wish all of these free applications weren't pushed out to us. Especially since you can find most of these apps on the Market if you want them anyway. I have no use for Zinio and don't feel like rooting just to remove it. Though, compared to my DX, I definitely can't complain about bloatware. And, to be honest, most of the "bloat" added by ASUS has proved to be quite useful
Updated the version from market and it's works!
Free magazines.............hmmm....not bad!
Keep it up Asus...I love your bloat wares
First....free newspapers and now free magazines....hahaha....iPad 2 Killer!
Can anybody confirm that the preinstalled version includes the free magazine subscription offer detailed in Zinio's press release?
http://www.prnewswire.com/news-rele...roid-market-for-tablet-devices-122859609.html
If not, might be worth trying to install the app first, then let it upgrade when Asus' update hits for the US market...
The free newspapers thing is a total waste of time for me -- seven free issues is next to nothing. A free two year subscription to one of 25 magazine (or is it all 25? The press release isn't clear) seems quite worthwhile though.

I installed the application from the market, and I have 23 magazines in my collection, apparently. I don't thinks it's a year subscription, but just the most recent edition of each magazine.

I installed from the Market, much better. The 3.1 update must not have liked me already having it installed.
HOWEVER, it will let me uninstall the new one (the good version) but not the old version.
Any way to remove this without flashing my device? It's not a big deal, just an icon under apps but I'd like to get rid of it.

And suddenly the lightbulb came on. Of course you're right, the way it was phrased just threw me off. It's one issue of each magazine listed. (Well, they've actually listed 25 magazines as included, and per your own experience there are only 23 available, but near enough the same thing.)
...which to me is a complete waste of time, and makes me again wish Asus would stop jamming this bloat down our throats. Like the newspapers, it is one more thing I'll never use, and one more icon obscuring the apps I actually do want to use. (Not to mention wasting space and resources on my tablet.)
Thus far the only thing I've found worthwhile among Asus' preinstalled apps is Splashtop Remote Desktop, and that can currently be bought standalone for just 99 cents.
I really wish Asus would give us a version without all the bloatware installed, and just let us buy our own apps. Saving a few cents on the one app I do use isn't worth it to me to have all the other junk I'll never touch on there too...
Probably because Zinio pays them per install or account created from one of their devices...
(I'm guessing.)

Yup, that's usually the case with this kind of bloat -- the manufacturer gets paid to put it all on there, in the hopes that it'll lead to you paying the software company to use the product that's stuck on your machine.
I doubt they're getting paid much to stick all the junk on, though, and I'd happily pay $10-15 to have it all taken back off.

Actually had Zinio on my iPad and enjoyed it. Wife had cheap o magazine and I had car and driver magazine quite cheap.
As for splashtop our version can be set to the ASIs resolution of 1280x800 whereas the market version only goes to 1024x768. So I don't consider any of it bloatware but rather good apps I would have purchased anyway.

Well, that kind of sucks. I don`t want to root just for that.
Keep getting error with preinstalled bloatware "zinio reader". I went to the market and DLd "zinio" which seems to be the same exact thing as zinio reader except a much larger app. The mags are free which is pretty cool but once they aren't free I'll be deleting that ish' stop the bloatware!!!

Amazon App store
I installed the Amazon App store on my tablet but when I tried to download a free app I was informed I was in an unsupported market: Canada.
I beleive (assuming) this has to do with copyright laws. A lot of their kindle devices aren't available in Canada due our different copyright laws.
Something to look into if you are counting on the app store.

I just got the Fire today. I went to install Ultimate Tabs, which I had purchased on the Android Market and had previously installed on my HTC Eris and then my HTC Incredible 2.
With the Fire, you have to use Amazon's App Market, so I went looking for Ultimate Tabs there and found it. But now they want me to pay for it again!
Now, I can see if I had it installed on an iphone previously, but this is supposed to be another Android device. Why should I have to pay for it twice? Anyone know of a way around this (besides sideloading the apk) that's legitimate?

I saw a thread telling me how to root it and install the Android Market. But then I saw another thread saying that rooting kills the Fire's ability to stream Amazon Prime videos. I don't know whether it's worth it. Maybe I should just shut up and pay the 2.99, but it's the principle of the thing lol.
if you already have it on another android device, u can extract the apk from there and side load it to Fire

I'm looking for a unified email app that I can also use with Exchange/Activesync and Yahoo boxes. From what I can tell, KF mail app doesn't include Activesync support (yet, or ever?). I use Touchdown on my Nexus S 4G but frankly, I don't want to pay another $20 plus I'm looking for a unified inbox.
I also have a Nexus S 4G and the mail app can do this (although I don't love it because it has some major restrictions, mainly no warning before delete). Does anyone know if I could take the apk from the Nexus and install onto Fire? Has anyone done this?

You can try to side load the apk, it won't break anything, worse case is it won't work.
Why can't you just use the license from your Nexus for Touchdown on your Kindle? Just curious.

I could, but my preference is to have one inbox for Exchange and Yahoo. TD only does Exchange/ActiveSync accounts.
On the license moving, I guess I need to read up more on the licensing policies. I thought you could only use licenses on one device/machine.
Check out Enhanced Email. Its on the Amazon and Aneroid markets and is only $9.99. I like it a lot. Its based on the stock aneroid mail app, so it catches a lot of heat? The support from the dev is awesome though!

Thanks. That is one option I'm looking at, although I was hoping for a free option which is why I was considering the Google Mail (not Gmail) apk. I won't be doing that much emailing on the KF, which is why I'm shying against spending any money at all. I'm glad you like it though, that's a + I suppose.

Just fyi...I read in the reviews of Touchdown that someone else bought a tablet and put it on there and they where allowed to use the same license for their phone and the tablet. So you might want to look into that.

Has anyone managed to install the Amazon.com app on an Acer A510/A700? It doesn't show up in a search on the Play store and when I try to download it from teh list of previously downloaded apps (it was available on my previous tablet) the Acer tells me it's incompatible. Kind of strange... Maybe there's a working APK out there somewhere?
Ummm, the A510 comes with the amazon app store installed out of the box.

Maybe, although I haven't seen it on mine. I'm not asking about the Amazon app store though, just the app that lets you manage your normal amazon account and purchase items from amazon.com.
When I search for it in the playstore, the amazon mobile app shows up, but it says it's not compatible with my device. I've got a A700 over here in Germany.
But why not use amazon in the browser? I mean it's a 10" device and your browsing via WLAN, don't you?

I think you got this wrong. It's not about the Amazon App-Store (that one works without problems), but about the Amazon mobile App.
