Mild screen scratch solution - T-Mobile LG G2x

I have mild scratches on my screen. Anyone know i good way on removing them?
I tried toothpaste and vinegar .. Anything else?

I'm not exactly sure, but I would try buffing it out.

80 grit sand paper should make it blend in....kidding!
You might want to stop at a place they sell glasses, they might have a buffing solution.

be careful using acid based stuff.. Toothpaste act. not a bad idea if you try a whitening kind due to its mild abrasiveness.. Or you could get a very fine rubbing compound and buff it out.. just do little at a time and don't press to hard.. you could also try this http://www.google.com/url?q=http://...MQFjAA&usg=AFQjCNHFGskkVc7s8JETtmHwxPd0kiNn0g
Good luck hope it helps...

I have used this in the past and it works great:

It takes elbow grease... a lot of it... but it works.
Will check it out thanks

Isn't the screen on the N1 glass?
From the idrops website: "Carefully squeeze one to four drops onto the plastic, polycarbonate, or acrylic surface of your device"
http://www.wirelessground.com/saguaki.html
Has anyone tried this? Does it work?
If you read the end it states "not use on touch screen displays"
I guess i wont risk my baby..

iDrops, and most other scratch removers, are only for plastics... not glass, which is what your N1 screen is. You'll either create microscratches on the screen or remove part of the top coating on the screen.
i used t-cut glass polish on my nexus it got rid of the scratch i got when i stupidly put my phone in the same pocket as my keys
and a chamois leather is great for stubborn finger prints
To be honest, any mild abrasive would probably do. It's not as if the N1 has any anti-reflective coating or anything. Even a simple toothpaste and microfiber cloth would do the trick.
I find toothpaste is great at removing light scratches, won't cost you anything either.

Try PlastX from meguiers. Ived used it and its safe. Try in a corner of the screen first. Be sure its clean. Rub gently with a cotton fiber towel, not a bathroom towel.

[Q] Lens covers?

Does anyone have an solution to cover/protect the camera lens on the phone?
Not so much from scratches, but mostly lint/dust.
I seem to have this problem with most phones (not just the Optiums V), and it seems to be a function of manufacturers recessing the lens to protect it from scratches, or surrounding it with a bezel.
Crap just accumulates against the edges, and I find I have to clean it out every so often or the picture quality suffers.
Wrap your shirt around your pinky and shove it in there man. Lol

yeah, but it will not scratch as long as you put it in pouch.

Lol yep, the simple solution! If I ever remember, I like to put some alcohol or some sort of cleaning fluid and wipe around with a cotton swab.
I just cleaned mine the other day with a damp q-tip. Then used the dry side to wipe off the little bit of water left on the cover.
I am going to do this about once a week or so just to keep crap outta there!
ok guys, this is the cleaning thread for the P500 - i'm right?
so, here is my question: how do you clean the particles between the lcd board and the glass over it? is there a way to do that or must we life with that?
the dust underneath? would love an answer to this

My p500 suffers from this, the only solution is to take it apart from what i've gathered, which will void your warranty. :/
sent my phone in with the dust problem, rooted and running cm7 and they repaced the lcd, changed the plastic screen front for gorrilla glass free of charge. tested resestance withe a swiss cooking knife.
Gorilla glass on P500 ?
I want it!

Well bricked actually.. So they probably just hooked it up to the kdz. The problem with it though is when the phone heats up the moisture on the screen heats up and dries and scrolling is unbearable.

[Q] Repair scratched edge

Hi!
I dropped my phone on a solid ground and scratched the top part of the Samsung Galaxy S2 edge.
is there any good way to repair this so it isnt as visible as it is now?
I hope someone can help and give me a tip on a way to do it.
This is not the screen itself but the sourrounding edges.
Whoa..Okay.. Well there is some methods to Fix that, You should try:
1) Nail polish- yeah that could sound funny , but you can always try hiding the scratches with clear nail polish remover.
2) Turtlewax- You should try that, it Repairs car scratches, PSP, MP3 player's etc. You should try that too.
GoodLuck with that! Have a Great Day!

You can just get a case for it - scratches covered. My Evo is the same way - chipped all to pieces around the corners. I still keep it naked though, I prefer it without a case/screen protector.
Maybe I'm just strange.

Lint inside case!

OK I have always had problems with this! I have a UAG case that I love but I always find myself taking it off to wipe off all the lint that gets stuck between the case and phone around the edges.
Anyone have any fixes for my problem?

Remove cover soak in 150 proof rum for 1 hour shaken not stirred.
Alow to dry in an unopened can of pinto beans, spray lightly with WD40.
Then do the hokey pokey and shake it all about. Finish off with a high
quality varnish. Wrap up your case, (gift wrap) and give it to someone
you care about. That's what it's all about.:silly:
There is no way you can prevent dirt from going in between the phone and the case. It will happen. Suck it up and just ignore it.
First world problems....
EDIT:
Just so you know, lint also gets INSIDE your phone.. so getting in between your case and the phone is least of your worries.
AND! lint gets inside your charge port and headphone jack.
Clean the lint out of your pockets before putting your phone in them...
Sacrifice it to the Gods!

Ouch that sucks. My Gear 1 is still holding up fine after a year.
i have a custom screen protector on it so you cant see the scartch anymore , im gonna order a real one online probably ebay ill take a pic when i replace it .. the scratch is almost one centimeter long its very superficial you an only see it at certain angle .
and hey i was tempted to return it like that the guy may not notice it... it was bought at those stores where they dont ask many questions , I guess i just like the watch anyways with a stainless bracelet on it looks kick ass .
That is the very reason I have screen protector on. I can't hardly tell it is on and at least I know it won't get scratches.

Hey I got one off of Amazon by Skinomi. It has covers for like 90% of the device 19$
Just to correct some incorrect information above. The Gear 2 AND the Gear 1 both had Gorilla glass 3. As we all know glass scratches when in contact with the right material (grit/sand). It won't scratch from a shirt cuff button or a jacket metal stud however.
You can always see which products use which kind of Gorilla glass here:-

Ya but they can't prove that. Maybe there was a fault in the production of the glass and his didn't get the protective oil coating, or the glass wasn't tempered right. You never know,

Just dishonest, Lets just say your moral compass needs to be adjusted
That's unlucky. I haven't had my Gear 2 long, but it's still in perfect condition (almost). I guess I'll be extra careful from now on.
Just a scratch, don't sweat it :silly:
I just got my Zagg cover today and I will definitely put it on tomorrow. I hope it fits correctly considering it's clearly labeled for the 'Galaxy Gear 2', I just have the Gear 2. I don't know why they didn't get that right.

Yeah mine scratched as well. It was a minor scratch and it disappeared when I applied a zagg protector. Now the screen isn't quite as beautiful but this watch is really about functionality when it comes down to it.
On the plus side, you can't even seen that there is a protector on it at a glance. The edges blend well into the brushed metal.

It scratched, but you don't know how serious the scratch is. It could have easily damaged the watch itself.

Mine scratched today as well. Does anyone recommend one screen protector over the others?
2cm long, lower left corner. Totally avoidable too, just wasn't paying attention.
