I was browsing my local Best Buy store and saw that Samsung had a huge display about their new SmartTV. The have 2 TV and a Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Samsung Fascinate phone on the same display. They were showing a demo whereby the Samsung TV is streaming live TV to the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Fascinate, in addition to controlling the TV as a remote.
I know that Samsung device CAN stream from the device (tablet or phone) to DLNA-equipped TV using the AllShare app, but I never knew this can be done the other way around.
Here's the link the story.
Does anyone know if this can be done on the GT7+? If yes, what app do I need to use? I don't see it in Android Market, but I do see from Samsung Apps market an app called Samsung Smart View-Tab, which state that "...The TV can also transfer live feeds to your Tablet PC...".
PS: I am in the market of buying TV and I can really stream live TV to my GT7+, I'll definitely get Samsung TV. Just need to know if the above really works for GT7+.
I know this isn't really what you are looking for but I stream live tv to my Gtab+ (and phone) through my dishnetwork account using a sling player adapter on my dishnetwork DVR and their dish app for android. I can set my DVR, watch any recorded program or live tv anywhere I've got a connection.
Thanks for the info. Yes, I am aware of the Slingbox solution with Dish, since Dish acquired Slingbox a while back. Unfortunately, I have DirecTV and I don't want to change provider.
The Slingbox Pro-HD, a standalone device separate from Dish, have a lot of problem, judging my their forum and Amazon review (Windows 7 issue, device quality issue, etc.), so I ditch the idea of getting Slingbox. It is a good solution though, given I have 2 Mbps upload speed and 18 Mbps download and will have no issue streaming.
Hi guys I bought a Himedia h8 tv box and would like to control it with my phone, specifically for typing etc as using the remote is quite cumbersome. Is there an app to install? I have tried tablet remote but i am unable to install it from the play store on the h8 as it is not "compatible". It needs to work over wifi as there is no bluetooth on this tv box.
If its easier, can I use the IR blaster??
Also prefer to not root. My note 2 is rooted however don't wanna root my tab s or dads s4. The tv box is not rooted.
Thanks
I was wondering if there was an app that connects my iPhone to our Samsung smart tv
That allows me to control and play soundcloud through the tv I've tried to find one that is compatible
But most apps do no include soundcloud in their features

Not too familiar with iPhone, as I haven't owned one since the 3GS, but doesn't apple have that thing called Plex? Or is that only available thru Apple TV? If not, you can always get a Chromecast dongle and use that.
Hello, first of all.
It's been a long time since I have visited this place, so excuse me please if I missed a similar thread. I have searched for it.
My question is if it this possible to turn my old Motorola XT 720 into an Android TV box (i.e. Chromecast or similar).
I have tried CheapCast app that only crashed when opening YouTube. This phone has a HDMI port and I assumed it can connect through it to my Philips TV, which is not a smart TV, but a regular HD TV.
The only connection I was able to create was the built-in version of media gallery from phone which has the option to display the pictures from phone on TV screen (proving there is a working connection at least).

This should be possible as the device has the ability to use another display. I would recommend using something like Tablet Remote or other similar apps on the Play store so instead of using the device as a chrome cast you can use it as a full media center device connected to your TV. By using one of these apps you would play videos directly through your device instead of "casting" them. This should hopefully work arround the issue of apps like CheapCast crashing.
Hope I could help and good luck
Thank you, Tablet Remote works good between the 2 Android phones. Still working on it.
I am also working on this route, trying to make use of my screen-broken Xperia Z. However apart from using as mediacenter with kodi, it would be nice if I could properly emulate chromecast. I would love to see a nexus android TV Rom being able to drive my phone, is anybody working on that?

Hello, I have a samsung smart tv and dedicated camera for that: SAMSUNG CY-STC1100. The skype application used to run on the TV, but it has lost support.
I plan to buy the H96 Pro tv dongle (android) and my question is if the camera connected to it will handle that?
After smart tv stopped supporting skype I found older version of skype(for various TV series) with drivers(inter alia to camera) which was installed from a pendrive and this worked wonderfully, but now it doesn't work. If you don't know the solution, could you recommend a camera that works on the android box?
