I think I'm starting to understand what I previously assumed was just XDA Internet elitism.
OP, you really couldn't be bothered to do the smallest modicum of troubleshooting/research before posting?

nice welcome
Hi
Obviously I made such a research but the issue was that the update was very buggy.
Maybe you guys should do some simple tests before posting non-tested updates which can harm other's work...

This is a developers forum. YOU assume the risks when flashing these roms. If YOU choose to flash customs roms from a development forum without making proper backups then YOU are a moron. As this issue seems only particular to YOUR device I would assume its something YOU have done not the fault of the rom dev.

Version updates aren't possible with Revolver Parts. As Gnufabio pointed out, 3.5 involves new base Asus firmware. Download the whole 240 mb rom from the first post in the Revolver thread, boot into CWM, wipe your cache and Dalvik, flash the full rom from the choose zip update dialog. Then you can use Revolver Parts to handle updates until the next version change update.
There is a certain amount of risk associated with the reward of tweaking your device, if you dont have the time to teach yourself (by reading the heck out of XDA threads), you're likely better off staying stock.

As I was saying in the other thread, you have to sign your roms in order for them to be flashed on retail devices. Look up how to sign your rom so that you can share it with others. It is unflashable until it is signed with the testkeys. I know the theme development forum has a nice tutorial on how to sign your files.
Thanks...
What's WORKING/NOT WORKING? I'd appreciate a changelog so I know what I'm flashing...

I think it got locked because if you can't sign a ROM, they probably don't want you putting it out there for us to "test" and possibly brick our devices. Or, it contains warez, which is likely, and that is against XDA terms.

I'm currently waiting for my G1 to reboot. I wiped my ext partition just in case, as well as a regular data wipe, so we'll see what happens. I've been sitting on the G1 screen for maybe 5 minutes now, we'll see where it goes
Ok I've held my tongue in other forums but I can't anymore, this ace guy has been going around the forum with good intentions by helping people but giving them false information, I and others have corrected him. But this! This goes to far, ace obviously doesn't know what he's is doing and he is the prime example of the noobness we don't need in these forums. He's obviously looking for attention or spotlight and wants to feel like he knows what he's doing. If I was a mod id close this thread immediately,

[Q] Unroot, Carrier patches, etc

I couldn't find anything based on an Unroot thread, as well as some generalized questions.
SOMETIMES, phone devs, and the carriers, put out patches that actually correct some ugly known issues. Correct me if i'm wrong, but if i root, i'm led to believe i can not download carrier patches and updates.
My concern is If I root and there's by chance some JESUS patch that is issued that corrects reception issues, power cycle, etc. Is there a way to unroot the device.
First post by the way, go easy.
Edit: OH also, I forgot to mention, from what im reading around 2.3.6 seems to be the current version out for at&t however i'm only on 2.3.5 i've tried pushing the update by checking through settings>updates. It's telling me however that there aren't any available? Or did they pull the update for some reason?

Now, i just have to figure out what ROM I want to apply...

[CAUTION] For STOCK ROM ICS - HUCHISON 3

For stock ics rom - huchison 3
I have already flashed this ROM. Thing to be considered while flashing & after that:
1) You not need to wipe data if you are already over Leaked ICS version:good:
2) There is no major changes in this ROM. Few thing added which you can already have or huchison 3 is providing for there customers only (as that has provided app for that).:good:
3) Only Polaris office is beneficial for all user.:good:
4) This is very Important: Dont Even think to Flash any DEODEXED zip file to this version, else you will find your phone to stuck at Samsung Logo. Then you have to delete all thing & have to flash again this ROM. You can flash until NEW DEODEXED version not released.
5) Take CMW backup first after flash this one. Coz anything can be happened anytime (its for safer side).
However, If you found some bugs after flashing that ROM, can report here. I will add it in OP so that other user can stop doing all this mess up with their phone.:fingers-crossed:

[Q] Most Stable 4.0+ ROM for HTC Desire

What is the most stable rom for the htc desire out of Sandvold, BCM, and Nikez Lente.
If you have any others that are stable let me know.
This is extremely close to a "Best ROM Thread" which is against the rules.
The best way for you to decide which ROM you'd like to use is to test them out for yourself. Just always be sure to make a nandroid backup before flashing to a different ROM.
Check the OP of different ROM threads and they'll tell you what does and doesn't work on that specific ROM. Looking through some of the comments in those threads will also tell you what problems there may be and what to do to fix them.

Custom ROM with Incremental OTA update

Hello, most of custom ROM OTA is not a incremental updates unlike OEM does. Always official custom ROM eg Lineage, RR all give full ROM package.
My question to you, any ROM that supports incremental updates through OTA like OEM does?

It should list the features available in the ROM in the ROM thread. If it has OTA it'll be listed, or just post in the ROM thread and ask if it gives OTAs.
You can just download and flash the incremental updates manually, what's the difference. Don't be lazy.

First of all, I'm far from a noob, lol.
Second, learn to read and comprehend. I didn't say anything about all ROMs having incremental updates. I said for them to read the ROM thread and that the features of the ROM should be listed and "IF" the ROM offers OTA updates, it would be listed in the features. And if OTAs are not offered then they could just manually download any ROM updates that "are" offered and flash them manually.
Did you understand me that time, noob? Learn to see who you're talking to, lol.

The XDA rules state that members are to search first because in most cases the question you have has been asked before or at least is already easily available by using the XDA search feature. Also, the reason for the ROM threads are not just for members to get ROMs, it's also for them to read everything they might need to know about the ROM, it's features and the things required to flash and use it. This information should be in the first post of the ROM thread. The rest of the thread will contain questions about the ROM and troubleshooting issues. XDA is about sharing information but it's also about making that information available for you to find for yourself. Just take time and read because what you want to know is out there if you just look.
The reason I'm saying for you to read through the ROM threads is because you'll make a more accurate choice of which ROM you want because anything anyone might suggest may not be satisfactory for you and that would just cause you to make another thread or post to ask for another opinion. It will come out to the best for you if you just read and try a few until you find one you like. It's what you'll end up doing anyway no matter what anyone suggests, so just make a long story short without all the unnecessary posts from either of us.

I've already told one person this in this thread, now I have to tell you as well. Learn to read.
Pay close attention to the details now.
I never said anything about a ROM that supports OTA means that it also automatically supports incremental updates. You are making a connection between those two things that I never said anything about.
If you read the first post of this thread, the OP specifically asked if there are any ROMs that support incremental updates via OTA. My reply was, if a ROM here supports incremental updates via OTA, it would be listed in the changelog or it would be in a list of features that the ROM supports.
So, that means, the only thing wrong here is your interpretation of what I posted. Nice try though.

Sorry, but your post is just unclear and ambigous. You only wrote about OTA and didn't even mention incrementals, so your post seemed to either imply that you thought that that was the same or didn't get the question. And btw, incrementals and OTA don't really have a relation, there can be non-OTA incrementals and non-incremental OTAs. So your post wasn't clearly answering the question, so not poor reading on my side but poor writing on your side.

The point is, if you want to know if a ROM has a certain feature, you read the ROM thread to find its list of features or you read the changelog or you ask in the thread where the ROM is posted.
