So... Was I was running the leaked ep1w gingerbread leak, and got sick of the random reboots. Yesterday, my phone would not connect to 3g. I had signal and data was turned on. I could make calls and SMS, but no data access. I could connect to 4G when it was available, and everything was great. I reverted to ee4 stock, hoping the older modem firmware would correct it. No luck. Same issue persists. No 3g, only 4G. Anyone have any ideas?

Go to the store and have them replace your sim card. I had the exact same issue two days ago. Fixed it right away. I had to stand there and wait for half an hour because their troubleshooting program doesn't cover this issue.

It fixed itself 2 days later. Weird. Unfortunately, as a verizon employee, I have to have a replacement sim sent to me, which wouldn't work as I will be on a cruise as of tomorrow. Just glad it's working now. I refuse to switch it to 4G because I don't want to lose my 3g again.

Just recently flashed BAMF GingerRemix 2.0.6, and noticed I no longer have 4G any longer at home (Mountain View, CA). I first thought my 4G was entirely gone on my phone with the new radio+ROM, but then it came back about 20miles away from home yesterday.
I'm currently sitting here next to another rooted Tbolt that has 4G, but mine is showing only 3G. I've tried toggling 4G on and off, but to no avail?
Any suggestions out there? Would reflashing the radio do anything? I was coming from Bamf1.7, but can't recall whether I had the same problem then.

I've been having an annoying problem lately. I'm running theory of ginger 4.2 and lately my 4G connection will just drop out and it won't reconnect for 5+ minutes. If I manually disable and reenable the connection it immediately grabs 4G back. It will stay steady for maybe 40 minutes and then drop out. This has happened on the MR2 and MR2.5 radios. Suggestions?

So I flashed to CM7 on a froyo radio and I'm still having connection issues. How hard is it to get a replacement sim card? I think that might be the culprit honestly.

i doubt it's the sim cards doing this... it's for sure the radio's. the mr1 radio on froyo drops my 3g to 1x alot, so did mr2 but mr2.5 was perfect for me. i just want a functional radio to ship this week.
It just started a few days ago, and a friend of mine with the thunderbolt isn't having the issues I'm having.

Mine started doing that last week while on Gingeritis final. I flashed all kinds of roms & radios (including Froyo) with no improvement. I even went to verizon & swapped sim cards, and still no better. I went back to bone stock and finally got reliable 4G again. Very frustrating
I've been having this issue for a couple of weeks at home but at work the LTE connection is rock solid. I think it's the network where I'm at. I went back to an old Froyo build and radio set and it was the same issue. I've tried every radio combo both GB and Froyo ROM's and it behaves the same way. At work no issue...at home I have to switch to wifi. It'll show LTE with bars (sometimes full 4...usually 3) and I will have activity on the up/down arrows and it'll work for a minute and then stop working until finally the LTE icon goes away and it goes to 1x (or even sometimes 3G and I'm in LTE mode.)
Its looking more and more like a network problem. Might as well save myself a trip to the Verizon store. Oh well, not that big of a deal I guess. Stand in line for 40 minutes for them to tell me they can't help.

Mine does this but I'm on the edge of the 4G signal where I live. I just lock in 3G and don't worry about it. When I get in an area I need to use some speed I turn 4G back on.
Well for the past couple days my nexus has been roaming and dropping to 1x is good 3g areas for no reason sometimes the 3g icon disappears all together and I'm not in a roaming area sometimes it just goes blank doesn't even pick up voice anybody else have issues like this any help

Same here, just started today and if that weren't enough, for me anyway, The International Data Triangle popped on and I have no voice coverage. I flashed back to stock and got the voice back but the data drops in and out. I wondered if there is some sort of outage. Called in and NADA that they are aware of.
Weird.. Might have to send this one back. This will be the second time. PRL and Profile Update fails.

Not sure. When I called Sprint, they checked the tower strength, Known issues in the area and found nothing. So they want me to stop into a store and have them look at it. I put the standard recovery back on and locked it back up. Wish me luck.

Yeah, on ke5. They did manage to fix it at the store by erasing some network stuff and reinstalling the ota latest update with their computer. Then they said blah blah blah. I told them thanks a bunch. We will see.

it could be your location. i dont have LTE anywhere else in my condo except in my living room right by the window. the funny thing is my wife has thunderbolt she got 4g all the time dosent matter where she's at in our condo.
If wi fi is on as you say you will not see any 4g or 3g indication. Only wifi indicator plus signal strength.

I had no data of any kind all day yesterday. Long story short, turned out to be a bad sim card.....
The local Verizon store replaced in yesterday evening and now I have data again.
I'm not losing data but my connection is really bad... I was playing black opts yesterday and today and keep losing connections and lagging really bad. Never used to do that even when I was tethering my Droid x.

This started happening 3 days ago.. My gf had to call me 8 times last night before she got through to my phone.. I don't know wtf is causing this but i'm pretty sure its not the phone or ROM. Also at times incoming texts come in late.. My apn is set correctly.. Any help would be appreciated

When I'm blocking someone its on purpose and I use call master. If there is a problem with connectivity I can reset the radio layer or reset the telephony service. This might be an idea just to have the ability reset the radios at different levels in order to clarify the problem

I use a call blocking app like call master or root call blocker. It allows in the setting to reset the radios individually.

Believe it or not removing the sim sometimes works as it registers/unregisters you from the network.

edit----if nothing else helps try reflashing. If that doesn't work get new sim(no charge if you say it is defective ) make sure your reflash stock rom.
If that doesn't work, send in for trade under one year warrenty.

Yes im in canada on rogers network (rogers is only in canada) I flashed sky coke rom, before that was on quickwiz which i had no issues with
maybe that ROM had trouble with Rogers network. I would contact the developer and seek some sort of resolution

No its a monthly plan. I called up rogers tech support and he had me change the network mode to gsm only and he tried calling and it went through, then hspa and same thing with data on.. went to gsm/hspa/lte auto and with data on the call went through fine.. as soon as I got off the phone, I tried calling my number and calls stopped going.. (put it back to gsm only and it started working even with data on, but when its on LTE with data on is when it starts screwing up) does that mean when its connecting to an lte tower its messing up? Is that my phone's issue or the towers? Is there anything I can flash to the phone to see if the problem goes away.. already flashed stock radio but didnt help

This is a known issue, at least in Canada with Rogers. It has nothing to do with what rom or Kernel you are using.
It appears that Rogers is having intermittent issues with the LTE network. It comes from the handoff between LTE and 4g when a voice call is received. After you hang up, you are supposed to go back to LTE automatically. But with this glitch sometimes the phone will get stuck and as a result you get no texts and calls going straight to voicemail.
You could try creating a new APN node for 3g/4g only and using that to see if it solves your problem while Rogers is actually becoming aware of the issue and fixing it.

Last night alone it took 40 minutes for a text from my wife's phone to arrive. And that was only because I turned my phone on and wifi kicked on!
