"Your device is not compatible with this application" - Samsung Infuse 4G

Haven't changed anything except checking out miui and restoring back to infused. Now, most apps, i.e. Facebook, quickpic give me the yellow box saying "your device is not compatible with this application"...any idea why?

I've been having this problem also but only changed to one rom and have been on it since.

Did you do factory reset + sd card format from WITHIN the ROM settings not CWM?

I'm using the one that came with the rom I'm on, its called nitrality. Stock dpi for this rom is 182.
If I use a "black market" and find it or someone gets me an apk I'm still able to install and run fine for those that say 'not compatible' in reg market.

Try changing back to the regular LCD density and downloading apps from the Market. The Market's been pretty finicky with non-standard densities lately.

Changing LCD density back to 240 made the message "Your device is not compatible with this application" disappear. Thanks!

[APP] Screen Density Changer

So I recently got the LCD density changing aapplication from the market and love it.
I have always been a fan of larger screens but the hardware on the Nexus 1 (led scroll ball and light) keeps me grounded.
Anyway after using the app and moving it down to 220, I'm getting the same resolution overall as I did with the Atrix and love it.
Although the screen size isn't as big, I'm seeing more information than I do with my Captivate that has the same 480 by 800 resolution and a larger, 4 inch screen.
Just sharing my thoughts.

any problem with some apps or games? I used it before and some apps and games won't show up in full screen no more so i switch back to default and uninstall the app.
I've been using this app for some time now and I have no problems with apps so far.
I don't have any problems with applications; I don't play games on this phone so I can't comment on that though.

Never heard of this until just now. VERY VERY awesome.
What are the "optimal" settings you guys are using? I set mine to 220 and I did notice a difference (especially my home screen).
Sounds intersting! Any noticable impact on battery or memory?
You can definitely notice a difference, it kinda reminds me of the HD Sense roms. It also fixed some issues I was having with LauncherPro & some widgets when in portrait.

I use the one that has an icon of a LCD with two arrows coming out of it, has the same name but I don't remember if I spent money on it.
Same as the one you're talking about I think, has the same name.

Ya it's too bad it's not the same application anymore. This application doesn't have 2 arrows coming out of the LCD icon. In addition, the screen density resets itself back after every reboot.

Yea I don't like resetting it, however I never voluntarily turn the phone off and when I do have to reset, it only takes 20 or so seconds.

Set LCD density on boot?
Hi guys,
Do you know if there's a way to set the LCD density 'permanently' so that you don't have to reset it everytime you reboot?
Thanks in advance!
You can set it permanently by editing the build.pro. Change the ro.sf.lcd_desity line to whatever you like.
I recommend 180 for N1s

If you want to make your density setting your system default, just go into the setting. If you edit the build.prop, then you'll have to do that every time you flash a new rom. I'm sure most of us flash junkie's use titanium back, so that way when you restore your apps that setting will be saved also.

So, umm, sorry to inform you, but the "save as system default" setting writes to the build.prop

Market is screwed..please help

So this new market blows. I have a Droid X on miui 1.8.5 and while trying to download a bunch of apps, I get:
"Your device is not compatible with this item"
For the life of me cant fix it. Put the LCD density back at stock 240 (its at 210 now) cleared market cache, tried jrummys market fixer apk, edited the build.prop manually...nothing. if anybody can help, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks

I've got the same problem...

already tried uninstalling updates... miui 1.8.5 comes with the new one originally, so i don't have the option
I assume you were using Android Market 3.1.3?
In case you were using an earlier one I have a link to it too.
Custom dpi (lcd density) seems to cause the "incompatible" problem with the new market.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1196417
Going back to 240 dpi and clearing market data makes everything work as it should.
You can then go back to your custom dpi, but most users are reporting the problem comes back after a while.
:edit: Oh you tried that
I ended up going back to market 2.3.6
I tried going back.to the old.market but kept getting FCs.. anyway, found a thread that suggested trying 160 for the LCD density.. worked like a champ. Set it back to 210 for now and its still working, until I clear cache anyway. I suppose there's no way to fool the market into thinking the LCD density is different than what it actually is?

You are correct though, I am now on 3.1.3 market. Never did have the old green market on this version of miui though.

Best resolution setting

Anyone tried changing the resolution on the Infuse?
Which one you think is best?
I am trying 200 with no problenms and it is much clearer than the default 240. But the dialer is now little awkward.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA App
I'm at 182, yea it makes the dialer small but its just a dialer
Big dog Infuse I997 GB KJ2
There is a thread for a multi dpi dialer and calculator in the infuse forums. Believe it's in the dev section. I used to run 190 and it looked great, but wasn't a standard dpi so some apps you couldn't download off the market.
Sent from my SGH-I997 using xda premium
I am using 200, and its really nice. But be warned, some apps in market say device is incompatible cos of this change.
Probably a stupid question but how do you change the resolution
Supercurio just built Voodoo Screen Tuning app, it's on the market, you should all check it out
A great dpi changer and will even stick after reboot is called nitrality. Under UI tweaks, dpi resolution, change and it'll boot up with new dpi
And with the market issue, all you need to do is go back to 280dpi go to market get what you want if unable from other dpi or to undated then revert back to whatever dpi you changed it too. Easy

Has nothing to do with dpi resolution. It just sharpens up the picture alittle
Big dog Infuse I997 GB KJ2
I use LCD Resolution... currently running at 220. I had it at 190 when running the MIUI launcher, but since I switched to GO Launcher EX I bumped it up.
But yes some apps in market say they are incompatible now... so I just find the .APK and put it on my phone and install it that way... seems to be working fine.

Whats the right lcd dencity on lg g2x?

I been using 192 with some app on the market but it was too small on that density. Then i tried 240 and it was to big.
So, whats the best density to choose.
And after that market kept saying in the updates that its not compatible with my device..
Its the density has todo with that??
240 is the regular screen size I believe.

you are better off keeping the density at 240. When you change it, the market will not let you download certain apps because it changes the screen resolution to a tablet type res. It is a bug with the market.

LCD Density

I searched around and there was an old thread about this but the actual poll wasn't made. So here it is again, and please comment about the method that you used.
I've used the Stock tool in AOKP's ROM, but I'm experiencing Market Compatibility Issues so I may buy LCD Density Modder Pro.
Edit: 50 views, and 1 person voted (me). Come on guys. Or are all of you on 190.
Mine is 190 (not on the poll) as cm9 is weird with 180.

I'm on AOKP and 180 worked fine on the dialer (the actual app crashes on an incoming call, but still it looked good @ 180). What should I google to find the edited market apk? Is it density specific (i.e Market w/ 240dpi spoof)? Sorry, I don't really know the nuances of my phone yet.

190 is mine also.
The little blue pull-down circle ring in SkyICS is off-centered now.
And RocketDial app has everything smaller, it didn't resize properly.
The only reason I'm doing 190 is to fit everything I want in one view on the Apex launcher bar.
EDIT: I thought I was 190 but I'm actually 200.

I used ROM Toolbox to change the density then LCD Density Modder to Fix Market Compatibility
And I can send you a link to the phone fix... its just an apk that you need to copy to your /system/app folder then reboot.
Also no market issues at all.

That would be wonderful, I just brought that ***** down to 160 (trying out the market fix in Themes/Apps section) so a stable phone would be great.
Also on ROM Toolbox question, is it really as good as advertised? Replacing ROM manager, Tit Backup, Root Explorer, etc.

Honestly, I use Root Explorer for what it's used for and ROM Manager for what it's used for.
ROM Toolbox might do all those things just as well. But I never bothered to try using it for any of those.
I have used ROM-T for replacing boot animation (the selection isn't super) and some icons like 4G or Wireless in the pull down (again, selection isn't super).
And toyed with it for overclocking.
I stop using it for awhile but always seem to find something useful in it to use here and there.
This is what I used for the market fix... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1639213 .. can someone post the edited phone.apk? Thanks!

On miui changing the density will crash the home. On aokp under 190 phone won't work. Cm9 under 180 things get thrown off like the circle in the pull down.
Android 4.0.4 AOKP
"Here's the difference between 240 and 200 for me."
Now that's just creepy - I have the EXACT same toggles in AOKP, but my swagger is ON
Is Rom Toolbox the best way to go for changing density? I using LCD Modder and set standard/boot to 190. Basically thought I had bricked for a few minutes, phone went fully unresponsive. Battery pull + power only showed Samsung logo followed by nothing, luckily booting into Recovery wasn't a problem.
EDIT: SkyICS
I use Rom toolbox. I am on SkyIce 4.2E and have no problems using 160 or 200. The only reason i stay at 200 instead of 160 is my eyesight. Im not blind, but i dont like straining either. Yes, the dialer screen at 160 is really small, but still plenty usable. I dont really get picky over the small stuff.
