[Q] Order & Chaos Online with a controller? - Eee Pad Transformer Themes and Apps

Is there any way to play Order & Chaos Online on my Transformer with a controller? Whether it be a wiimote, sixaxis, etc. Root is not a problem, I'm alreay running Prime 1.9.1 with Clemsyns kernel. Im just wondering if this is possible. I have already tried using a sixaxis controller over usb but with no luck. Im thinking it is just a limitation of the game, as emulators work fine.

I'm also wondering if this is possible. I bought the app called Sixaxis Controller and I'm trying to use my PS3 controller to play Order and Chaos. I've configured the controller and it syncs and works fine. I just need to know the key mapping when bypassing IME so that the controls are correlated to the game's. Any help would be awesome!

anyone come up with an answer to this yet?

Oder and chaos doesn't work.
The six axis app DOES EMULATE touches now but with the way the action rotator bar. You could use 3 from the rotator bar and the quick menu. It would be possible if Gameloft didn't shut us down. Says device is not compatible regardless that the actual game runs fine.

What's Up With Gameloft?
I picked up a Transformer Prime three weeks ago, and own a copy of Order & Chaos on my Kindle Fire, but of course want to play it on my newer, faster device. Is it true that, even with root, my Prime would no longer work with O&C because of Gameloft's pathetic upper management?
Also, if you have any insight on where I might find the best TF Prime dev / root / hack / discussion sites, I would so greatly appreciate it.
Best,

I know which forum this is, and I know where the TF Prime XDA forum is located. My initial questions and comments on the TF-101 remain compatible. Perhaps I should have been clearer about what I was after, and while I realize I should ask on the TF Prime forum instead of this one, mister 911 seems to know a bit more than the average dev ... Which is why I asked him.

Awesome, you knew where the right forum was and didn't use it anyway!
Maybe show a little courtesy to the other people that use the TF forum and don't want to have to sift through information for other devices. There was an enormous amount of TF prime info starting to float around the TF forums when the TF Prime was announced. It got messy until Prime forum was created.
If you have a question for a specific member, try a PM.

No worries. I'm not sure about the Prime but Gameloft doesn't like the transformer line for some reason. In order to combat piracy, they disallow all devices from launching the games except those devices on the allowed list.
So while occasionally we can get a version that installs and we can change our build.props to look like another "allowed" device, typically updates fix this quickly. As of right now it won't work on the transformer. I've emailed Gameloft several times saying they need to fix their methods of selection but I always get a canned response like, "we're sorry your device is incompatible with our games".
The first 10 levels of my character were played on my transformer before they axed it. Luckily my Galaxy Nexus works.
Even if you were able to get it working, it would involve using illegal tactics (another point I stressed to them).
The game WILL run perfectly on the Transformers but we're not "supported".

I accessed the second set of shortcuts by using a "Swipe Right" button. I assigned it to R1 on the sixaxis. It works great. I placed this button right over the middle shortcut (See screenshot).

[Q] netflix - is it ever gonna hit a Tegra 2 tablet?

I'm trying to get a feel with Netflix & Android tablets - and so far - I'm starting to have doubts that it'll ever be available on the Tegra 2 tablet.
My understanding is it's a security - hardware issue - to keep people from stealing / ripping netflix content - that's keeping the barn doors shut. Or perhaps Android has their own plans to monetize Google Movies. But as more time goes by - I'm less optimistic about getting Netflix on an android tablet.
Any thoughts - or is there something recent that I've missed re: Netflix coming out on this tablet - or others in the near future?
Thanks
If it does come to an Android tablet, it'll still be very much SD quality. Look at the iPad.

not sure of resolution or bit rate data on the netflix stream to an ipad, but it's pretty damn good quality on that screen.
i'd love to have it on my transformer... and my fascinate.... but i guess i have it on my xboxes, my ipad, and my X so i cant complain too much.
i'd really like it on the transformer though, especially with the HDMI out.

Tried every way possible and can't get it to work. If someone does get it working I would love to know how. As far as making it to tegra 2 tablets im sure it will make it eventually. NVIDIA has a big presence and it would make their chips more attractive if they had Netflix support.
The evo got it,and as far as i can recall Netflix said it wouldn't since the evo has no dem support on the chip. That apparently changed as they settled for software drm. Recently it was removed when the gingerbread update officially launched for the evo, but prior to that it worked fine on cm7 which is aosp gb. My guess is it will probably come in time.

Not on Tegra 2 Honeycomb devices.
I am really anxious to get it on my tablet as well. But I can wait since I have it on everything else that I own.

It does work on tegra 2 tablets. I have had it working on a viewsonic gtablet for over a month.
Rumors say the Lenovo IdeaPad K1 has Netflix preinstalled.

So the problem is a Honeycomb issue and not a Tegra 2 issue? Then maybe there is hope. Has anyone gotten it working on other Tegra 2 Gingerbread devices?

Yep, had it working on the gtab as well.
I guess the issue here is not the Tegra but the Honeycomb and Netflix.

Xoom has Gingerbread hidden if you up your screen dpi settings, I wonder if it works on it. But seeing how unusable the GB is on the Xoom in that environment I doubt it is of benefit here.
The problem isn't Tegra 2, it's HoneyComb. Netflix simply hasn't gotten around to making a version compatible with HoneyComb.
Let's face it, until the TF came out, the HoneyComb tablet market was tiny.
Netflix is working on many android phones including my Nexus One. In fact the quality is great, especially compared to Slingbox. I think it is just a matter of time before Honeycomb gets Netflix, there are just too many Honycomb/Tegra 2 units being sold for them to loose that market.

Do you still have it working? I am running Vegan Tab rom and have never had it fully functional, use it as a que manager but unable to watch. I have been using a home server software, Playon, for the past 2 years and it works good to watch Netflix. It also gives me access to other content and I can also watch videos that are on my home computer. But I would still like to be able to use the Netflix app.
Netflix worked on my Archos 101. Kind of missing it right now since the TF has no netflix.

Still works on mine. I am using cyanogen mod though.
Well, it's certainly not specific to Honeycomb and Tegra 2. The Samsung Epic, for example, still doesn't have an official Netflix app, and it's neither Honeycomb nor Tegra 2. And I'm sure there are still more Android devices that don't have Netflix than do...

[Q] Asus EEE Note

I've been using my ipad lately to take notes during work, and while that's been working fine, the real reason for me to get an ipad was to use it to write scripts on in Final draft. Now that final draft is taking forever to show up on the ipad, and it won't even be an editor in it's first iteration, i dont see the point in keeping the ipad because i don't use it for much else - maybe the occasional magazine and angry birds. with that in mind, i wanted to switch back to using a laptop to write scripts, and use a smaller tablet with a good handwriting/note taking app.
I saw the Asus EEE Note, and was wondering if anyone has used that? If so, any impressions? Is the software on that portable to any other android devices? It looks like it would make a great e-reader and note-taker app. Any thoughts?
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
i just bought one on amazon.it... i'll let you know how it runs when it gets here (i live in NY)

so i bought one of those GameStop Transformers preloaded with games..

How i transfer these games off so that i can add them to my Samsung Galaxy Tab? paid $299 for the Asus Transformer.
Root and then you can extract the apks.
yup it's rooted. how do i extract the apk's exactly? where are they located?
Get a root file explorer or even astro file explorer. Not exactly sure which folders you gotta look in. Time to snoop around your files to find them
If you use Astro, just use the Tools>Applications backup>choose the apps to backup and when done you can find it in the backup>app folder.
If using Root Explorer look in data/app for applications that is download from market or sideloaded
Astro makes ir real simple, no hunting for files... Easy peazy lemon squeezy

Curious about the tablets from GameStop. I ordered a transformer prime. Are they new? Or have they been opened in order to "pre load" the free games?
Sent from my DROID X2 using Tapatalk
I'm really curious about their wireless gaming controllers. They said they can work with the tablets they sell. I asked if I bought a transformer new elsewhere if the controller would work with it. They told me it would work. The wireless controller is $99 if you buy it seperate. I think $40 if you buy it with the tablet. That is contract evils at it's best. I'm really jealous of the gamestop ones because they have dead space (can't find on android app store), sonic CD, and some others. But it's really the game controller support i am after. I love riptide GP but I think it would be SOOOO much better with the wireless controller. If I get a tranformer prime I might get it at gamestop.
I think gamestop is going in the right direction. I bet once they get their cloud gaming going there android tablets will have them.
Myappsharer
FYI, This app is bar far the easiest way I have come across to grab an apk from one device for installation on another:

You just open the app, search for the apk you want by name or scroll through the list of apps, and then you can email it or dropbox it to yourself. Every once in a while there is an app that can't be located in /data/app. I am always able to extract the apk for those apps with Myappsharer.

It is just a Bluetooth controller. Thats how all wireless controllers work. And IMO, your best off to go with a Playstation DualShock3 controller and getting it to work with your tablet.
Every other controller I've owned pails compared to the responsiveness and quality of a good console controller. Perhaps their $99 controller is high quality too, but you can pick up a PS3 DS3 controller for $29 new. I picked up a white DS3 for $29 from Gamestop not too long ago. Beware they sell new and used controllers for the same price (I bought it new).
It really works fantastic. Honeycomb 3.2 has native support for gamepads, so most of the buttons work out of the box. I mostly use it for emulators with key mappings.
Perhaps someone with a Gamestop TF can provide a NVBackup of their stock rom.
I personally use the WiiRemote; cheap, fast and pain free. Most emulation I play works JUST FINE with it (the .emu series).
I do have a question for player911 though ...
I bought the Six Axis app and went through the rather grueling process of changing the blue tooth sync ID, etc.
Are you using the PS3 controller wired, via the Extension Kit? Or are you doing the whole routine like I am with the wireless? Or wired via the dock's USB?

find in /system/app/ then post here your files and see whether it is locked to that rom or it is universal.

Thank you I actually did realize this after posting. I thought, "Why not?" and I plugged my PS3 controller into the dock. It wasn't working even on as I was in Cordy. I figured, "Oh well I guess I need custom kernels or some kind of root app". I randomly decided to push and hold the home button a few times and I was making cordy jump and move. The first thing that came to my mind was "HOLY CRAP!". Well the edited word that came to my mind anyways...
I went to Riptide GP and found it wasn't working. I went to the dual control settings and I was able to control it with my PS3 controller. IT WAS AMAZING. Riptide GP is amazing by itself but with the controller holy crapy. I raised the graphics to maximum level and it looked like a Xbox (not 360) game. The graphics and effects are incredible and the precise control is unrivaled. I tried some other games though and they did not really work. I think that the Tegra 2 or Tablet Games work best. Any games that were just stretched on screen had almost no control support at all. I am not sure what other games support controllers but I want to find out. If they ever get Dead Space on Android (without buying it from gamestop) I hope that supports it as well.
...Well the controller is one thing. But I also really want Sonic CD. I love Sonic and I am still coming off of the high from Sonic Generations. Sonic CD is a game I never beat either but enjoyed playing it on a friends computer when I was younger. I think there are a few other games that the gamestop tablet comes with that are not on the android market. It actually seems like google removed ALOT of games and apps on the android market for the tablets and some it seems off the market in general. There is only two gameloft games on there for the tablet as well...
I wasn't really ever for gaming on android but now that I see how amazing it can work I am all for it. I'm all for a UMVC3 port on Android Tegra 3! I think there is a PS3 wireless app too that works on rooted androids. I am going to look into that soon. I was excited about the Wii-mote way but I am not crazy about the classic controller nunchuck wired shell. Love the design but not the wired aspect to the wii-mote. Yeah I agree I would love for someone to upload the apps that came on the gamestop tablet. I've already started looking but haven't found any online yet.

I recommend to anyone who has the tablet to back up the games using asus back up or whatever back up you use and putting it on your computer. I've already read a few stories of how some flashes caused the apps to disappear and they haven't found a way to recover them. I am not sure if google will back them up. The Asus Backup might. If all else fails try that app that someone posted the link to and put it on your computer for safe keeping. Using CMW and backing up the device might help as well.

This strikes me as interesting... If the games were preloaded, then presumably Asus would also need to supply customized versions of FOTA updates for GameStop customers. I'd be surprised if that were the case for a sunsetted, heavily-discounted product, though.
using the honeycomb launcher click on the downloaded apps taband see if the games are there , if they are that means it is in data partition

Just use mybackup or mybackup root. Backup all your apps, or just the ones you want to copy, then use the normal file explorer to go to rerware/backups/allappbackups/(todaysdate)/apps then copy the apks.

[Q] recommendations for bluetooth controller?

Hey all, I've seen posts about the different kinds of controllers people use on their tf300 for playing games with and have looked around but haven't been able to find any discussions on which one(s) people think work the best/recommendations. I've been interested in getting at least one (hopefully not spending more than $25-30) and was curious on people's opinions who have tried any of the different ones out there?
Any help at all would be appreciated and I wanted to apologize as well if this topic has already been covered in a thread that I might have missed.
Right now it seems like the $50 Moga pro is the best one
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T
I use a PS3 controller with the six-axis app. i think it works nicely. So if you already have a PS3, you already have a controller. The six-axis app lets you hap touched on the screen to buttons on the controller for games that don't support game pads.
I actually ended up picking up the last two they had in stock of this controller from gamestop yesterday because I had ran across it online/seen the reviews and they were so inexpensive. I thought I could try them out at least to get an idea of how they'd be and worst case just return them but so far on the mupen64+ emulator they've been working without a hitch. they're light but don't necessarily feel that cheap surprisingly so I'm looking forward to trying them out on different games out there. oh and mapping out the controller wasn't any trouble at all either.
I think if I end up doing more gaming than I am right now with my tablet then I'll try to get a ps3 controller and use the six-axis app, thanks for both your answers. if anybody else has any other contributions to add as well feel free

Leo's fortune on the very coveted Tf101?

Hey I'm part of the team working on Leo's Fortune. The Asus TF101 isn't a supported device, even if you didn't pirate the game
We had some compatibility issues and it doesn't quite meet the minimum hardware requirements to run the game. Hopefully you have a change of heart and will be able to experience Leo on another device in the future!

I purchased it through the current Humble Mobile Bundle 9 which provides me with a DRM-free apk of the game. Just pointing out that just because someone has an apk of the game doesn't mean they pirated it. :good:
Didn't try installing it on my TF101, just stumbled across this post while seeing what, if much, my old TF101 is still capable of.
**** Before anyone PM's me asking, NO, I will not share it.
Get a log cat file. Check if they use native code, if so, it's probably neon support problems.
