Anyone use a Scala G4 w/ their G2X? - T-Mobile LG G2x

I just purchased a set for my wife and I to use on our motorcycles. I'm curious if any Xda-ers have tried these bluetooth communicators with their G2X's? Any issues? Any advice or input would be appreciated. Seems like the advanced capabilities of this phone would work well with these G4 Scala units. But we all know how this phone tends to dash expectations LOL.

Working Bluetooth Headset and OZ O2 XDA II

I had huge problems with the Plantronics M3000 and a Motorola HS801 headset. Neither worked very well.
My dealer mentioned that their distributor put out a list which showed which headsets work with which PDA's and phones. The above are listed as NOT compatible with the XDA.
So I purchased a Hello II which is tiny, comfortable and looks cool. But it also works with the XDA II which is the best reason to get one. You can get more info from http://www.hello2.com.tw .
Or for the full details go here http://www.hello2.com.tw/04_download/file1.htm
It doesn't say anywhere on the site that it is compatible with the XDA II--?
:?:
I can't comment about what is or isn't on their site but I've done my best to put it through it's paces today. It seems to be working fine with my Aussie XDAII so far. The distributor said it would. I will post a better review in a week or so.
I installed BT Tools and I get some different but not necessarily better functionality. Its good but I guess you have make up our mind as to with or without BT Tools.
Either way all you Aussies with 1.66 ROM this seems to work well so far. I got mine in Perth WA from Communications Plus. Ask for Tracy or Darryl. Darryl and his business partner also use the XDA II extensively and pair up with the Hello 2 headset.
How does it handle wind noise?
Now that's a good question. If its a noticeable breeze then its not good bu neither was the M3000 on my old Panasonic X70 phone either. And the M3000 is supposed to have this cool noise cancelling feature if you believe their blurb.
But in a light breeze it appears to perform well.
I've been using it now for a hole week and can report that it appears to work very well. Some points to consider: -
Charges in less than 2 hours
Very intuitive buttons
Very lightweight and comfortable to wear for hours
Long talk and stand-by time
Works well with BT Tools
Not great in the wind (alas, albeit perhaps only a small issue)
Small enough to lose easily or forget which pocket you put it in
Otherwise a great purchase considering the dramas I was having. Until I got this headset I thought that none of the BT headsets were going to work.

Trinity & Bluetooth Speakerphone

Hello everyone,
I'm in the market to purchase a new toy to make my trinity even more fun.
I was wondering if anyone has recently purchased a bluetooth speakerphone for their vehicle. I'm a bit tired of putting on that ear piece when I receive a call. I've read good things about the Jabra SP5050, but wasn't sure if anyone has had any experience with this unit along with a trinity phone.
The other unit I was looking into is the Motorola MOTOROKR T505 Bluetooth Music FM Speakerphone with A2DP. I love the fact that this unit has the FM transmitter, however I've read that it does not work too well if you live in a big city such as New York, since finding an unused frequency in a big city can be quite difficult especially when doing a lot driving.
If anyone has had any experiences with a good bluetooth speakerphone and would like to share, it would be very much appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your time.
P.S. I apologize in advance if there has already been a thread on this, I did a quick search and didn't find too much info...

[Q] Bluetooth Car Stereo

Hey Guys,
Didn't see this for the Inspire - how do things work for this phone with bluetooth car stereos specifically pushing your contacts. I've always had problems with this issue with my Evo I dumped and my iPhone 4 is easy as pie. I'm giving that to my wife because I miss Android and want an HTC see again any thoughts ASAP? Going to buy tomorrow most likely and I'm thinking this or Infuse or Atrix since both of the others have front facing camera and I can do vid with the kids and such when I'm traveling.
Thanks!

[Q] Headfones - Handfree

Hi Friend,
i my using motorola photon 4g in India, can any one suggest if i can use Nokia WH-701 handfree with motorola photon 4g. Will the media control of Nokia WH-701 support my device.
or suggest me any better handfree to be used.
Thanks in advance.
Mostly Android smartphones support any kind of handsfree-kits.
So with 95% making calls (speech control) works fine. Whether multimedia control is working you just have to try out.
I would suggest to buy a Sony Ericsson MW600.
This one is bluetooth powered, so you have no disturbing wires and still use any headphones you wish to.
This device does support anything you want. Speech control, multimedia control and even shows you, who is calling
Do you have any suggestions for a non-Sony by head set?
As an alternative you can look out for the Jabra Clipper.
Pretty much the same, but without display.
The Jabra device has great build quality, as the body is mostly out of metal and the battery life is impressive.
But why not that Sony thing?
Im using it since one year now and am absolutely satisfied.
Further the Sony headset supports up to 2 devices. So if you use a phone and another external mp3-player you have not to reconnect every time, but just switch the devices by a keypress
Why not Sony it is a moral thing, due to they build quality of there products, the way they treat customers.
Ah, i can understand your point
It's like the reason, why i never would buy apple products
So, as i worte: Jabra Clipper.
Best BT-adapter i had before the Sony.
Just changed it for the display.

School me! Nexus 5 & in car entertainment

I've recently got myself a new (to me) car and I want to get a new stereo/head unit to go in it. I have no experience with ICE and don't want to make a costly mistake.
Here is what I would like to do, if possible:
Have my phone connect to the head unit automatically when I get into the car. This will require a head unit that has bluetooth, I presume? And Tasker to perhaps control this.
Have my phone go into car mode (again, Tasker I presume) and my screen to be mirrored to the head unit, automatically.
Be able to control my music app (Shuttle, but I don't mind using something else) using the steering wheel-mounted controls (forward, back, volume).
Display and be able to answer incoming calls using the head unit/car speakers. Without taking my phone out of my pocket. I presume the head unit will need some sort of mic or something.
Ideally use Google Now via the head unit, and Maps as well.
I probably could cobble together a reasonable working knowledge of all this stuff if I spent hours on the internet but when the resources of XDA are at my disposal, why not use them? I am sure there are some really clued-up people on this forum when it comes to ICE and connectivity, so if you can offer advice, or tell me where the flaw in my plan is, or help me to avoid pitfalls then please comment.
Also any recommendations on head units that aren't really expensive but incorporate the screen I would need into a double-DIN space in a 2009 Mitsubishi Colt and will do what I want it to do.
Very grateful!
Oh and the reason I've posted here is because I'd rather get the knowledge I need from people who have an N5 and who know about any problems there might be with this particular phone. I've watched a video on YouTube which showed a head unit working with the N4 and N7, but the N5 wouldn't connect to it :-O
What's your budget? You can find units that fit your criteria from 200 all the way up to 700. Most units will do what you require so I'd just go to a brick and mortar store and find one you like. All brands are pretty good nowadays. I've always been a fan of Alpine or Sony but again that's just preference.

Tbh I don't know. Can I get something for £200? £300? I'm in UK.
Can you explain to me how the voice input part of it works, do all these head units have an integrated mic so I can answer calls?
Also, am I looking for something that has Miracast or MirrorLink? Or is there some other standard which the N5 uses to connect?
Sorry if I sound ignorant but I really don't know how it all works, and that's just the sort of customer that unscrupulous sales people LOVE walking in to their store!
Perhaps there's an internet site you can recommend that lays out the basics?
Also, this is probably a stupid question, but can these type of units control your phone even while the phone screen is off? For instance I would want to play music from my phone without ever taking it from my pocket, or launch and run Maps from the head unit, with the phone screen off. Can that be done?
