I really like the stock keyboard but I find myself needing arrow keys. The HTC EVO keyboard would prob fit the bill. Any way I can mod the stock keyboard or download the EVO one?

You can get swiftkey X from Getjar for free right now and it gives you the option to enable the arrows.

Thanks for the quick reply. Would you happen to know of a way to do it with the stock keyboard?

I presume the market on Sensation is a HTC customized version. Mine is 2.3.4, but the latest version is 2.3.6. Is there any way to get the original Google market on my device? I prefer having a shortcut to "My Apps" instead of "HTC recommends" on the main page. Also, from manage apps, you cannot clear data for market, the button is grayed out. Anybody else having this ?

I think its an issue that will remain till we root it.. and then you will have access to some great apps n the market to do whatever you want!
On my Desire I always had the latest version of market, not customized and I wasn't rooted...
I think that's the over-seas version. Ours says t-mobile instead of "My apps". i dont care..i can just search for what i want.
It is different from stock market i think because i can't upgrade to 2.3.6

no biggie i guess, just an extra clicks and u will get my apps by pressing menu.. still, when root comes, it will be no extra clicks
I miss the sliding feature. When you click on apps or games, you can slide left or right to view most popular apps, most popular free apps and latest my apps.

Running 2.3.4, works fine so not sure what the fuss is about
no fuss, just wondering why would HTC bother with a custom version of market which they would need to keep up to date ? What was wrong with the default one from Google? Maybe it didn't support the higher resolution of the Sensation yet ??
Iv got 2.3.4 but iv just got my apps. No htc tab or anything?
Either way it seems to work ok

I have installed the latest version of Market (2.3.6) manually and it doesn't display correctly on the Sensation, so reverted back to 2.3.4 HTC Sensation custom version. At least I know the reason...

I've downloaded the Gingerbread keyboard and used it for a few weeks.
I went back to stock keyboard because I heard that it may be possible for someone (whoever uploaded the keyboard) to track keystrokes such as passwords.
I dunno...just didn't want to take the chance.
Any thoughts ?

You get that warning from any keyboard that you install.
Ive never used any keyboard but the gingerbread keyboard from the market. Nobody's hacked anything of mine. Knock on wood. That's a standard warning.

I'm running the latest trickdroid now, which is quite amazing by the way, and I would like to know if its possible to have the HTC keyboard without the arrows..and if possible without the voice icon..I find myself hitting it very often when I mean to type a symbol down below.
I don't wanna try another keyboard, swype used to be my favorite but Idk it seems different and a lot smaller now compared to my likings on this keyboard.
If you guys got any suggestions, I'd be happy to see what's up.
Thanks

The axiom rom has the arrows removed from the keyboard. I haven't heard of any that resolve the microphone.

Does anyone else notice how bad the sense keyboard is? The key detection is awful, there is delay on almost everything and it's plain ugly . Anybody have any recomendations?

I've actually always liked the Sense keyboard on this phone. To me, they got it right with Sense 4, where previous versions had awful keyboards. I don't have any problem with detection or lag.
I quite liked Swype on older Sense versions on my old Desire Z. Swiftkey seems pretty popular with XDA folks, also.
Sense keyboard got even better with jellybean. I find it faster than swiftkey. For some reason there is a slight lag to bring up swiftkey.
The thing that I hated most was the arrow keys, which they have fixed by giving us an option to have them on or not.

They added the arrows in sense 4 so that when that stupid black menu bar pops up it covers up the arrows and doesn't move the keyboard up, that way we don't have to change the way we hold the phone when a menu button is required (that is, before they released the button remapping fix)

I was using thumb keyboard for months but got sick of some of its glitches. I used the HTC keyboard for a while and I really enjoyed it..first sense keyboard in 4 years that I've liked. Then I just installed the stock ICS keyboard and I'm super happy now
I was going to attach it to this post but I guess I can't from within the xda app...
